This will be a working vacation for President Trump as he sticks a tee in the ground at his club in Turnberry last hosted the Open championship back in 2009. President Trump, not just enjoying some golf at his club in Turnberry and getting ready to open another one in nearby Aberdeenshire, but he's also talking, of course about trade, will be meeting with the president of the European Commission and he hopes to get to a trade deal ahead of that Aug. 1 deadline where tariffs are set to be imposed on the European Union. Upwards of 30% no doubt. 27 member European Union wants to see a trade deal similar to what the president has with Great Britain. That's been reduced down to 10%. Certainly that deal with Japan, which President Trump called one of his best yet, that the tariffs have been reduced to 15%.

Daria Albinger reported on a significant policy shift concerning healthcare for transgender minors in the United States. According to Alexandria Hoff from Washington Children's National Hospital, several prominent medical institutions are ceasing to provide gender-affirming care for minors. This decision is primarily driven by "legal and regulatory risks," as stated by Hoff.
Effective August 30, the University of Chicago Medical Center has halted all gender-affirming pediatric services. Additionally, the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, the largest transgender youth treatment clinic in the U.S., has closed its doors. Louisiana's LGBT center has also reported the termination of services, collectively impacting over 2,000 young patients.
This trend is influenced by fears of losing federal funding, prompting other hospitals nationwide to either scale back or completely end programs that administer puberty blockers and hormone therapies to minors. While critics argue that gender-affirming care can adversely affect fertility and mental health, advocates warn that denying such care may significantly harm the mental well-being of transgender youth.
