And after his Alaska summit with Russian leader, Putin came up short in an attempt to end Russia's war with Ukraine, President Trump will meet Monday with Ukraine's president at the White House. Russia essentially wants control of two territories in eastern Ukraine if they are going to agree to cease fire everywhere else. Ukraine wants Western troops to come into their country and guarantee that Russia doesn't come back, that is. According to the Washington Post, President Zelensky is confirmed for a White House visit on Monday. European partners have reportedly also been invited. The president says this is because it was determined by all that the best way to end the horrific war between Russia and Ukraine is to go directly to a peace agreement. We're waiting to hear back from the White House about which European leaders may be invited to join President Trump and President Zelensky on Monday.

The president says if Monday's meeting goes well, they'll schedule another meeting with Russian leader Putin. Hurricane Aaron, the first Atlantic hurricane of the year has exploded in strength as it spins out in the Caribbean. It's now category five with wind up to 160 miles per hour. We do have a flash flood watch or flood watch in effect for the US Virgin Islands in Puerto Rico with the potential for locally considerable flash and urban flooding. And landslides are also possible all the way from today into tomorrow. And we'll begin to see conditions improve in the northern Leeward Islands and the Virgin Islands of Puerto Rico during the day Sunday as Aaron begins to pull away from those areas.

Aaron is not expected to make a direct impact on the U.S. the models show it turning out to sea. However, the storm is expected to bring dangerous rip currents and even life threatening surf to much of the east coast this week. America's listening to FOX News.

D.C. s top cop is back on the job in a matter of speaking. Even though President Trump has taken control of most law enforcement in the District, fox's Rebecca Castor with more from Washington.

Attorney General Pam Bondi wanted to put the head of the DEA temporarily in charge of D.C. police, but city officials saw it as a power grab ensued. After a federal hearing, the Trump administration backtracked and agreed to let Chief Pamela Smith remain in charge. But with D.C. still under federal control, the mayor has to follow orders from the White House. The Trump administration has also stripped D.C. of its sanctuary city policies, demanding D.C. police cooperate with ICE.

About 800 District of Columbia National Guard troops are on the ground there now, and as many as 400 more will be coming in from West Virginia. The Federal government has 25 days left in its takeover, but the president has implied that he would be extending it. Texas Democrats may be ready to end a nearly two week walkout which blocked a Republican redistricting plan which could have flipped five blue congressional seats red. Lt. Governor Dan Patrick tells Fox News the Democrats can't represent their constituents if they aren't in the state.

California Governor Gavin Newsom now announcing a redistricting plan in California which would give Democrats more seats to counter the Texas plan. The Canadian government is forcing Air Canada and the union representing its flight attendants into arbitration. A work stoppage stranded more than 100,000 travelers around the world during peak trouble season. 10,000 striking flight attendants may return to work soon.
