People have drowned while visiting a private island in the Bahamas that welcoming guests just weeks ago. Celebration Key is a tourist destination for Carnival cruise ships. And last week a 74 year old woman died while swimming in a pool and a 79 year old man died while snorkeling at a beach. Both were given CPR by lifeguards but could not be revived. Celebration key features a 10 story sandcastle, water slides, a basketball court and an adults only retreat. It's expected initially to bring more than 2 million guests to Grand Bahama every year and an expansion is already in the works.

PAM puso, FOX NEWS Hurricane Aaron has weakened a bit. It slowed to category three strength but with wind up to 125mph, it can still cause plenty of damage. The storm reached major category 5 strength before weakening. Forecasters say it is not expected to make a direct hit on the US America's listening to FOX News.

An investigation is underway into a deadly shooting early today at a nightclub in Brooklyn.

Investigators say at least four people opened fire at the Brooklyn lounge and what they believe is a gang related shooting. Community crisis management teams have now been dispatched to escalate tensions among gangs. The shooting is a reminder of a key issue for voters in the upcoming mayoral election, which is less than three months out. Zoram Mamdani, who has walked back his previous comments on defunding the police, praised first responders this morning and then later today doubled down on his campaign promise to bring violence interrupters to New Yorkers through a new city agency he wants to create. And Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa wrote in part, quote, I'm the only candidate with the courage to restore law and order in New York City.

Fox's CB Cotton in New York. It started in response to a redistricting effort in Texas to flip five blue districts red. Democratic officials, including the state's governor in California say they're going to go through with it.

This week, California lawmakers are expected to approve new proposed congressional maps for voters to then approve in a special election this November. California Democrats say they've launched this campaign to counter the ongoing effort by President Donald Trump and Texas Republicans to create up to five GOP friendly congressional seats in the Lone Star State. It's part of a bigger effort by Republicans to keep the House majority during the midterms next year. They have a razor thin majority right now.
