The tariffs are unconstitutional. I'm Daria Albinger, Fox News. And that is how a federal appeals court has ruled on cornerstone of President Trump's trade policy. Fox's Alexandria Hoff says he disagrees and he's promising a fight.
Alexandria Hoff
President Trump's tariffs, they're going to remain in place for now. This ruling does not go into effect until October 14th. That's to give time for the Trump administration to file an appeal to the Supreme Court. That panel wrote the statute bestows significant authority to the president to undertake a number of actions in response to to a declared national emergency. But none of these actions explicitly include the power to impose tariffs, duties or the like, or the power to tax. Now, President Trump emphasized the timeline in his response, adding, a highly partisan appeals court incorrectly said that our tariffs should be removed. But they know the United States of America will win in the end. If these tariffs ever went away, it would be a total disaster for the country. It would make us financially weak and we have to be strong.

The president has made the tariffs a pillar of his second term as a way of compelling other nations to renegotiate trade deals with the U.S. there are reports that what was left of the Voice of America has now been silenced.

Chicago is among the cities Mr. Trump has considered sending troops to after deploying them to the nation's capital. One of the nation's most important federal agencies may soon be getting a new name. Or as Fox's Jill Naito tells us, it may be going back to an old one.
Unnamed White House Official
A White House official confirms to Fox the Trump administration's planning on renaming the Department of Defense as as the Department of War. President Trump dropped a hint this past week that he wants the change.
Jill Naito
So it used to be called the Department of War and it had a stronger sound. And as you know, we won World War I, we won World War II. We won everything. Now we have a Department of Defense with defenders.
Unnamed White House Official
Changing the name could require congressional approval, but the White House is reported to be exploring other ways to do it. The Department of War was first created by Congress in 1789. The name was changed to Defense in 1949. In Washington, chill NATO. Fox News.

@ least one person is dead and dozens have been wounded after Russia's latest aerial attack on southern Ukraine. One of the targets that was hit was a five story apartment building in the Zaporizhzhia region. Ukrainian officials say its forces shot down or neutralized by more than 500 drones and 38 missiles. The attack comes less than two weeks after a presidential summit in Alaska between the president and Russian President Putin and a meeting with Ukrainian leader Zelensky.
