Powers, FOX News, The World Health Organization says it no longer considers the MPOX outbreak in Africa to be an international health emergency. The new form of the illness was detected in Congo last year and spread through close contact, including sex. It was declared a global health emergency in August of last year. Mpox, once known as monkeypox, is a rare disease caused by infection with a virus that's in the same family as the one that causes smallpox. Some parents in New Jersey are fighting against a pair of bills aimed at regulating homeschooling.
Tonya J.
One of those bills would require those parents and their children to meet once a year with a school district employee for a health and wellness check. The other one is probably the most controversial, and it would require parents to align their curriculum with the state standards, which, of course, is the reason why many of these parents pulled their children from school in the first place. This would force parents to teach a curriculum that, quote, highlights and promotes diversity, including economic diversity, equity, inclusion, tolerance and belonging in connection with gender and sexual orientation, race and ethnicity, disabilities and religious tolerance.
