23 year old Irina Zarutska is from Ukraine. She fled to the United States from war torn Ukraine in 2022. She lived in Charlotte. Last month she took the light rail in uptown Charlotte. Minutes sitting down on the light rail, she was stabbed to death on the train. Video shows her Irina sitting on the train with the suspect behind her. She did not know him. According to authorities, she was minding her own business before she was brutally killed on that train. His name decarlos Brown. He's homeless. He has a prior criminal record including assault on a female. Now he's charged with murder.
