Unidentified Fox News Reporter
Nearly $11 billion in foreign aid appropriated by Congress is set to expire at the end of the month. A few weeks ago, President Trump pulled back 4 billion of those dollars in what is called a pocket rescission. Aid groups argued that not getting that money would harm them. A judge ordered the administration to send out the money. But in a 6 to 3 decision, the Supreme Court's now siding with the Trump administration, writing that the asserted harms to the executive's conduct of foreign affairs appears to outweigh the potential harm faced by these aid groups. The Justice Department had argued that the lower court judge's demands violated the separation of powers and that it would be senseless for the executive branch to obligate the very funds it's fighting for Congress to rescind.
