The president is in Asia. I'm Jim Osman. This is Fox News. President Trump is currently on his way to a multinational tour of Asia which includes a scheduled meeting with the Chinese president in South Korea. Fox's Lucas Tomlinson in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with the latest a complete deal.

I want our farmers to be taken care of and he wants things. Also President Trump mentioning America's farmers, specifically soybean farmers, after China has refused to purchase soybeans as part of the ongoing trade war. Last year, China purchased $13 billion worth of soybeans. This year, zero. Now here in Malaysia, Treasury Secretary Scott Besson and Trump's top trade rep, Jamison Greer met with Chinese officials hoping to firm up a trade agreement with China by the time Trump and Xi meet in South Korea. One of the reasons President Trump is coming to Malaysia first for the annual meeting of Southeast Asian nations is he plans to preside over the signing of an accord to officially end hostilities between two of its members, Cambodia and Thailand.

President Trump is set to visit Japan as part of his upcoming tour and is reportedly considering a possible meeting with North Korea leader Kim Jong Un, though no meeting has been confirmed. Tropical Storm Alyssa has strengthened to a hurricane. It's a slow moving storm gathering strength in the northern Caribbean. And National Hurricane Center Deputy Director Jamie Rome says Melissa could slam Jamaica, Haiti and the Dominican Republic with life threatening.
