Bipartisan talks are currently taking place among rank and file senators on a plan to end the shutdown. President Trump is encouraging Republicans to end the Senate filibuster to reopen the government. But Majority Leader John Thune says the votes aren't there to make that happen. Air traffic controllers have been working unpaid due to the government shutdown officials saying the reduction could cut thousands of flights per day. In an effort to deviate the pressure, the transportation secretary and FAA administrator defending their 10% flight reduction. The move is expected to affect 40 major airports across the country like Atlanta's Hartsfield, Jackson, Boston, Logan, Chicago, o' Hare and all three New York City area airports. The flight reductions are expected to start phasing in and then increase in the coming days.
