The president says the economy is starting to make a turnaround and it's the Democrats fault for being like this in the first place. Trump telling the crowd it's his tariff strategy that's bringing in so much money and helping boost the economy. He also highlighted his efforts to bring energy prices down by creating the, quote, greatest amount of drilling, the greatest amount of fuel being produced right now in our country, end quote. Trump says when energy prices come down, other prices will follow.

It's widely expected that the central bank will be cutting its benchmark funds rate by a quarter point to a range of 3 and a half to 3 and 3 quarters percent, marking the third consecutive rate reduction this year and the sixth since September of 2024 when the Fed cut rates with a jumbo half a point move.
