North Mississippi, we're thinking over an inch of ice. So that's going to be widespread power outages that are probably going to last a long time. One of the bigger ice storms that we've seen in a while. We've also got some ice that's in the forecast from Atlanta up through Charlotte, raleigh, richmond, roanoke, etc. That's going to be enough to cause a lot of power outages as well. Probably not quite as bad as our friends farther off toward the southwest there.

For the third season in a row, there will be 12 teams in the playoff. Executive director Rich Clark stated Friday. This will give the management committee additional time to review the 12 team format so they can better assess the need for potential change. Another year of evaluation will be helpful. ESPN reports SEC commissioner Greg Sankey supported expansion to a 16 team field, but Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti would only get on board if there was an agreement to expand the playoff to 24 teams after three years.
