The Justice Department joining a federal lawsuit brought by California state Republicans aiming to block newly approved congressional maps claiming they violate the 14th and 15th Amendments by redistricting on the basis of race sexual, specifically to favor Latino voters. Attorney General Pam Bondi calling the new maps a brazen power grab that tramples on civil rights and mocks the democratic process. California voters overwhelmingly approving Proposition 50 last week, which aims to flip as many as five House seats for Democrats in next year's midterm elections, a move Democrats say comes after President Trump and Republicans move to redraw maps in their favor.

In Texas, fox's Kristen Goodwin, the Governor Gavin Newsom's office has previously said the lawsuit would fail. A federal lawsuit claiming appalling conditions at California largest immigration detention facility located in California city about 100 miles north of Los Angeles. DHS denies the allegations, saying Immigration and Customs Enforcement has higher standards than most prisons. A top federal housing official has recommended an investigation into California Congressman Eric Swalwell over claims of bank and mortgage fraud.

The allegation towards the California Democrat is over a Washington, D.C. home claiming he may have made misleading or false statements in loan documents. Swalwell didn't mention the referral in a post on X but quickly posted on social media, quote, targeting political opponents. The congressman has been one of the most vocal critics of President Trump in Congress and would be the fourth critic to face separate bank fraud allegations.
