And President Trump says he does not plan to sit down one on one with President Zelensky this holiday weekend. There was the possibility of that happening now that is on hold. Overnight, the Russians carried out new airstrikes on Ukraine's capital. The latest death count at seven people so far. The attack not appearing to impact where the US Stands on the current views of these talks. Ukraine's leader had wanted to sit down with the president as soon as possible, including over the holiday. But as Trump says, he's going to have his army secretary handle Ukraine for the moment.

The initial proposal from the White House drew heavy criticism for being skewed towards Russian demands. The plan called for Ukraine to hand over land to Russia and to downsite its army. While President Trump is denying published reports that he's weighing whether to replace FBI Director Cash Patel, the president says Patel is doing a good job. And a top critic of President Trump filing a lawsuit against the administration.

Congressman Eric Swalwell accusing the Trump administration's Federal Housing Finance Agency director of misusing private mortgage records against the California Democrat and other critics of the administration. Swalwell filing a lawsuit against Director Bill Pulte, who referred the congressman to the Justice Department for possible prosecution on mortgage fraud charges. Swalwell is seeking a court order to have the criminal referral withdrawn and is seeking damages that aren't specified.

We're talking about state Rep. Afton Bain here. She is running to replace former House Homeland Security Chair Mark Greene in Tennessee's 7th congressional district. It covers parts of Nashville. But a lot of her past remarks have come back to haunt her. Democrats have been pouring big money and manpower into this nominee, and former VP Kamala Harris and DNC Chair Ken Martin have been stumping for her in recent weeks. Republicans should have this race locked in because Trump carried this district by 22 points last fall. But special elections are super unpredictable.

Waddle and gobble, living to see another day. These are a couple of turkeys from North Carolina that President Trump granted clemency to today. Before that, however, the president claimed former President Biden did not actually issue the pardons and executive orders that he signed.
