A rebound on Wall Street. I'm Dave Anthony, FOX News. The Dow is up 415points, gaining back a lot of what was lost in Friday's big sell off that followed the worse than expected jobs report as controversy still swirls over the numbers President Trump just posted on Truth Social. The report was rigged by somebody he fired, the Bureau of Labor statistics commissioner Erica McIntarfer. He also accuses her of massive revisions to hiring numbers that tried to benefit Democrats before the 2024 election collection.

In the latest report, only 73,000 were added. In July. The numbers for May and June were Revised, down by 258,000 from earlier estimates. Economic experts say the BLS commissioner has nothing to do with the data collection, saying it's put together by hundreds of people following detailed procedures. But National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett is floating the possibility of changing the calculations so that there are fewer revisions and getting a fresh set of eyes at the bls. We could be learning who the new commissioner is soon.

That's Fox's Madeleine Rivera. Democrats who left Texas to avoid a vote today on Republican congressional redistricting they call racist are being warned to return or else. Fox's Garreteni's in Chicago.

They are taking up sanctuary in blue states such as here in Illinois, saying they will be here as long as it takes to keep the Republican controlled legislature from pushing through a map that's designed to give the GOP as many as five additional congressional seats ahead of next year's midterm elections. Those Texas lawmakers are now facing a $500 fine for every day they are not at the Capitol. And Texas Governor Greg Abbott says he is going to use every tool available to force them back, including potentially trying to remove them from office.

Well, back to Wall Street. In addition to the dow rising now 436 points, the Nasdaq is gaining 334, the S&P 500, adding 74 points, but Boeing stock is down 1% after this.

Boeing's machinists, who work in its defense business in the St. Louis area and Illinois, are on STR. Their contract expired a week ago and the workers rejected the company's latest proposal. The International association of Machinists and Aerospace workers represents about 3,200 workers. It's a much smaller unit than the more than 30,000 union members who went on strike last year. The Boeing defense unit supplies military jet fighters and key parts of the munitions supply chain. Boeing said it prepared for a strike and fully implemented a contingency plan to make sure the non striking workforce can continue supporting its customers. Jenny Coselda, FOX News.

The price of oil is down about $1.50. It's back under 66 bucks a barrel after OPEC plus countries announced a planned oil production increase for September. At the gas pump, there's no change today.
