A suspected bomber will get his day in court. I'm Kathleen Maloney, FOX News. Brian Cole of Virginia will go before a federal judge today. He's accused of putting pipe bombs at the headquarters of the RNC and DNC nearly five years ago.
Fox News Reporter
He is now facing two federal charges. There are two pieces of evidence that investigators say were crucial in landing this breakthrough. Cole's credit card history and cell phone records throughout 2019 and 2020. They say he bought several, several materials that match the components of the bombs. We're talking galvanized pipes and end caps, battery connectors, kitchen timers and electrical wire. They also say cell phone pings indicates Cole's phone was in the area of the RNC and DNC the night of the crime.

The price tag for the president's new White House ballroom is up. And there's a new team of architects.
Jessica Rosenthal
The White House says a second architectural firm is now working on the planned ballroom, Shalom Barnas. Companies worked on other federal sites in Washington, including the Pentagon and Treasury Building. The White House said his experience will be a great asset. The initial firm, McCrary Architects, will stay on as a consultant. The East Wing's already been demolished to build a 90,000 square foot event hosting space and ballroom. The price tag's gone up from 200 to 300 million, though no taxpayer dollars are funding this as the president and his friends and associates are paying the bill. Donors include the Adelson family, Caterpillar, Meta Coinbase, Lockheed Martin and Nvidia. Jessica Rosenthal, FOX News A New York.

A major winter weather pattern grips the United States. The Weather Prediction center reports snow spreading across the Mid Atlantic to the Southern Appalachians, with 1 to 3 inches likely through Friday. Beyond the snow, the real story is the cold. A deep arctic air mass is settling over much of the Northern Plains, the Midwest and the east coast driving temperatures well below normal. Overnight lows may plunge below zero in places like the Dakotas, and the frigid air will hold large swaths of the central and eastern United States through the weekend.

Fox meteorologist Adam Klotz says you can expect dangerously cold wind chills, lingering snow on untreated roads and, of course, hazardous travel. I'm Kathleen Maloney. This is FOX News.
