The president always prefers to negotiate and reach a deal on these things. And we prepare willing to do that. We've tried to do that now for a year and a half. But we're also not going to sit by and let ships be blown up or Americans be attacked.

Stocks are mixed so far this morning. The dow is up 217 points. The S&P 500 is gaining 4. But the NASDAQ is down 54 as oil prices rise back up more than 2%. WTI almost 87 bucks a barrel. That's nearly $20 higher than when July started. Gas is up another nickel today. Triple A's national average for regular 406 per gallon. That's 17 since more than last Wednesday. government is currently set to run out of money at the end of September, just before the midterm elections. And this stopgap funding measure, which passed the House largely along party lines, aims to avoid an election year shutdown funding federal agencies at existing levels through December 4th. Democrats who've been demanding overhauls to how ICE officers operate in the field, opposing the measure ahead of the vote, arguing it was drafted without bipartisan negotiation, though six did join Republicans in advancing the bill, which passed 220 to 205. We could still see another shutdown, however, with an impasse over funding in the Senate, which has a 60 vote threshold. Lily Ann Wu, FOX News.

This is a big day in France. A gallery at the famous Louvre Museum in Paris back open.
I
The Apollo Gallery has opened its doors for the first time since the heist in October last year. But the precious jewels and artifacts it once displayed have been removed, and not just by the thieves. Louvre management says the gallery's returning to its original 17th century ceremonial purpose. Robbers took less than eight minutes to force their way in through a window and steal $100 million worth of crown jewels. Since then, security has been boosted with new surveillance cameras and anti intrusion systems. Jonathan Savage, FOX NEWS.

Those precious stolen jewels have not been recovered. There are five suspects charged. I'm Dave Anthony. This is FOX News.
