The house is in recess, starting a summer break early, putting on hold a push for Congress to release all the Jeffrey Epstein files. House Speaker Mike Johnson says there's no purpose for Congress to push an administration to do something that they're already doing. And so this is for political games. President Trump's calling the Epstein controversy a hoax perpetrated by Democrats, though many of his supporters are among those demanding answers, not believing a Justice Department conclusion that Epstein did not leave a list of well known clients when he committed suicide in jail awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking underage girls. At the Senate, a dramatic hearing into border security and crimes committed by immigrants here illegally.
