A Florida man pleads not guilty to the murder of a young woman once linked to the gilgo beach murder.

66 year old andrew dykes pleading not guilty to the 1997 killing of tanya denise jackson in a nassau county, new york court. The retired army veteran will remain in custody until he returns to court in January the defense noting they'll likely challenge DNA evidence allegedly linking him to the case. Jackson, a 26 year old mother and army veteran's body was found near Lakeview, New York in 1997. The remains of her two year old daughter were found in Gilgo Beach 14 years later, but both bodies weren't identified by DNA until this year. Prosecutors allege Dykes and Jackson had a relationship while stationed at the same military base. Dykes has not been charged in the toddler's killing.
