The move comes as air traffic controllers have been working unpaid due to the government shutdown officials saying the reduction could cut thousands of flights per day. In an effort to deviate the pressure, the transportation secretary and FAA administrator defending their 10% flight reduction. The move is expected to affect major airports across the country like Atlantis, Hartsville, Jackson, Boston, Logan, Chicago, o' Hare and all three New York City area airports. The flight reductions are expected to start phasing in and then increase in the coming days.
