The original intent of the board, which will be chaired indefinitely by Trump, was to oversee the Gaza reconstruction, but has taken on a broader mandate of resolving global crises. Several notable absences are expected, including Britain, France, Norway and the Vatican, all of which have declined invitations to participate.

The plaintiffs argue that major social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram are intentionally designed to be addictive for children and teens. Meta, of course, denying the allegations, pointing to safety tools of the app, saying that the plaintiff's mental health struggles were caused by outside circumstances rather than social media use. On the witness stand, however, Zuckerberg admitted that it is difficult for Meta to enforce age restrictions, saying, quote, I always wish we could have gotten there sooner. I don't think we identified every single person who tried to get around restrictions. But you're implying we weren't trying to work on it, and that's not true.
