A statement from the League of United Latin American Citizens says Miguel Angel Garcia Hernandez died after being removed from life support following Wednesday's attack on the Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Dallas. The group says Garcia Hernandez, who was 32, leaves behind his pregnant wife and their four young children. Another detainee was killed in the attack and a third has been released from the hospital. Magnitude 6.9 has jolted the central Philippines and collapsed the walls of buildings, killing at least six people and injuring several others. The quake centered about 10 miles northeast of Bobo, a coastal city of about 10,000 people. Federal trade Commission says it sued real estate and rental listing websites Zillow and Redfin over what the agency says is an illegal agreement to suppress rent advertising competition. A new state law in California requires top artificial intelligence companies to disclose how they plan to reduce catastrophic risk from the use of their models.

Governor Gavin Newsom, signing the law, says it will establish regulations to protect California's communities while also ensuring that the growing AI industry continues to thrive. He says the law fills a gap left by Congress and provides a model for federal regulation. Newsom vetoed another version of this last year. And this law requires companies with more than $500 million in revenue to assess the risk that their technology could break free of human control or aid in the development of bioweapons.
