We're very optimistic about the vote tally tonight. We think this is going to happen and we're sorry that it took this long. Speaker MIKE johnson, the bill does not include the extension of health care subsidies Democrats had pushed for. House Democrats will continue to the fight to address the Republican health care crisis. And House Democrats will fight to extend the Affordable Care act tax credits. This fight is not over. Cox's Ryan Schmells on Capitol Hill when the House went back into session this afternoon, Arizona Democrat Adelita Grijalva was sworn in as the newest House member more than a month after winning a special election to fill the seat held by her late father. After delivering a speech on the House floor, she signed a petition to trigger a vote to release files related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, giving it the 218 signatures needed. Separately, House Democrats today released emails connected to the Epstein case. President Trump posting on Truth Social that Democrats are using this to deflect blame from the shutdown. An Indiana sheriff's deputy is killed in the line of duty in a traffic crash in Delaware County.

Crash reconstruction units are on scene near Yorktown, just northeast of Indianapolis, where Indiana State Police Sgt. Scott Keegan says a Delaware county sheriff's deputy was out on foot with a stranded truck driver overnight when another semi.

That was northbound on I69 lost control and collided with both the deputy's vehicle and the disabled truck semi that was on the side of the road.

Christmas is officially grounded at housing near Tyndall Air Force Base, at least until after Thanksgiving. The property manager recently told residents near the Florida Panhandle base to take down their twinkling lights and inflatable Santas until after Thanksgiving. The company pointed to the housing handbook, which says all holiday decorations should be displayed no earlier than 30 days before the holiday.
