I was really saddened by his passing and was thinking about not even doing the speech in his honor. But then I decided that I have to do it in his honor. I'll do it in his honor because he would have wanted it that way.

That's the president addressing a House Republican retreat at the Trump Kennedy Center. We only learned a few hours ago about La Malfa's. He was only 65 and had represented California's first district since 2013. That GOP retreat is to discuss 2026 midterm election strategy. And the president told them, every one.
