The Coast Guard is pursuing another sanctioned oil tanker in the Caribbean as the Trump administration announced a blockage of tankers in and out of Venezuela. The seizure follows the targeting of several drug traffick.

A U.S. official says this oil tanker is part of Venezuela's illegal sanctions evasion. American authorities have a seizure warrant for the ship. The pursuit comes after the US Coast Guard intercepted a second oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela on Saturday. While not all Republicans support the seizures, many of them are backing the president. The moves are the latest escalation in the administration's pressure campaign against President Nicolas Maduro, whose leadership they see as untenable. Targeting Venezuela's oil sector will have ripple effects in Cuba, too, which relies on crude imports from the country.

A record number of Americans are traveling for the Christmas holiday, many looking to escape the cold.

Some of the top destinations, Miami, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale in terms of breaking records, AAA says they expect to see a 2% increase in holiday travel. With more than 122 million people flying or driving, the number of travelers isn't the only thing increasing. Prices are also up. Domestic flights averaging about 900 bucks. That's 7% higher than last year. There are some places to save. That's at the pump. Gas prices, the nationwide average has dipped below $3 per gallon for the first time in four years.

This is effective immediately and it's the latest play relief by the Trump administration in this high stakes game with the federal courts. This is going to affect five different construction projects offshore as well as dozens in the pipeline. These are all down the East Coast. And this comes just weeks after a federal judge in Massachusetts struck down President Trump's initial halt on wind projects. That judge sided with 17 state attorneys general calling the January ban unlawful and arguing the Interior Department failed to provide a reasoned explanation. That's the quote for the sudden stop.
