In a discussed meeting in Hungary last week, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky went to the White House to ask the president for Tomahawk missiles. The president didn't agree to that and continues to push for both sides to end the fighting. Senate Republicans met with President Trump at the White House this afternoon as the government shutdown drags into week four.

General Motors sees a tariff impact of four and a half billion dollars this year, but that is 500 million less than it previously estimated. GM says it's importing fewer cars from South Korea and it will be increasing U.S. truck production. It sold a record number of electric vehicles in the quarter before the EV tax credit expired. In her shareholder letter, GM CEO Mary Bar thanked President Trump for tariff relief on parts for vehicles assembled in the U.S. though a separate tariff on imported trucks is expected to take effect November 1st.
