New Jersey Democrats are celebrating after voters here in Jersey did promote the congresswoman Mikey Sherrill to be the Garden State's next governor. This race focused heavily on cost of living, but it also is seen as something both parties are looking very closely at in terms of messaging ahead of next November's midterms. Let's get you the numbers from overnight, which shows that Sherrill had no problem defeating the former Republican assemblyman Jack Cittarelli. It's notable multiple counties where President Trump saw a surge in support last year. Flip back to Democrats favor in this election overnight. Cittarelli spoke to his supporters in Bridgewater, says he called Sheryl to congratulate her on her victory. This was his third time running for governor.

The president expected to really press Senate Republicans to get rid of the filibuster. He did not mince words on Truth Social yesterday, writing republicans, terminate the filibuster, get back to passing legislation and voter reform President djt But Senate Republican leaders have already ruled this out because while this could help Republicans at the moment and in the near term, it could be wielded by Democrats against them one day. And Senate Majority Leader John Thune is still hoping to win win over a handful of Democrats to end the shutdown.

At Muhammad Ali International Airport in Louisville, triple engine plane had just taken off shortly before crashing, was fueled for an 8 and a half hour flight to Honolulu, Hawaii, leading to that mass burst of flames. Governor Andy Beshear speaking yesterday, offering prayers for the victims. The governor also confirmed that there were no hazardous materials on board, easing fears that this could cause a greater environmental issue for the area. The NTSB and the FAA are both helping in the investigation. Meantime, UPS issuing an alert last night saying that delivery schedules for airborne and international packages may be affected by the crash.

At least seven people were killed, 11 others injured. President Trump's authority to impose far reaching tariffs coming before the Supreme Court this morning. Three lower courts have ruled against his use of emergency powers to impose those sweeping worldwide tariffs. The president says a Supreme Court ruling against him would hurt the economy.
