President Trump, in the longest address to Congress ever, an hour, 48 minutes, touted a roaring economy, saying he's lowering inflation, solving an affordability crisis he blames on Democrats. The president also called his new tariffs stronger after what he called an unfortunate Supreme Court ruling striking down as earlier ones.

The tariffs paid for by foreign countries will, like in the past, substantially replace the modern day system of income tax, taking a great financial burden off the people that I love.

While Republicans cheer, Democrats say it's the American people paying those tariffs costs. And they also didn't cheer this.

We now have the strongest and most secure border in American history.

And as the president talked about removing criminals in the US Illegally, he also

said, if you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support. The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens.

Again, those are Republicans applauding. Democrats stayed seated and the president told them they should be ashamed of themselves. Some of them shouted back, saying he should be ashamed. More than 70 Democrats weren't even there. Boycotting Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger delivered the Democratic response.

And he awarded a Purple heart to a 100-year-old World War II fighter pilot, a Congressional Medal of Honor to a National Guard member shot in Washington in November, and of the family of the other soldier killed that day.
