But the measure has failed repeatedly in the Senate with Democrats stressing they won't support a bill that does not include extensions for Affordable Care act tax credits set to expire at the end of the year. Republicans say they will negotiate on health care after the government reopens.

We're getting new details about the U Haul truck that was shot at while driving at law enforcement officers near San Francisco recently. Fox's Chanley Painter.

This dramatic scene unfolded Thursday night at a Coast Guard station just outside Oakland when a driver rammed a U Haul towards the agents at a high speed at after several calls to stop were ignored. Guards opened fire and the truck then sped off. DHS says the driver parked the U Haul a few blocks away and was later found with stomach wounds. They are currently being held for a mental health evaluation. A bystander was also treated and released after being struck by a fragment. President Trump did put a surge of federal troops to the Bay Area on hold, but that did not stop protesters.

No officers hurt in that incident. A Canadian leader, meantime, set to phase out a television ad that triggered President Trump to end trade talks.

Ontario's leader Doug Ford says he will take down a TV ad critical of President Trump's tariffs after this weekend. The advertisement features former President Ronald Reagan, but the Ronald Reagan Presidential foundation and Institute objected, saying Reagan's words are taken out of context. In the ad, President Trump called the advertisement fraudulent, accusing Canada of trying to influence Supreme Court justice justices ahead of a tariff case. Ford says he will suspend the ad on Monday so it can be seen by Americans during the first two games of the World Series at the White House. Jared Halpern, Fox News.

President Trump getting a legal win in his lawsuit against Iowa pollster J.N. seltzer in the Des Moines Register. The case will now land in Iowa State Court after an appeals court sided with the president and ruled a lower court had overstepped. Trump's legal team has accused the defendants of, quote, brazen election interference, unquote, with their final 2024 Iowa presidential poll showing Mr. Trump trailing Democrat Kamala Harris.
