What's interesting is House Republicans were also not thrilled with what the Senate sent over and was eventually signed into law last night because there was a provision that allowed a number of Republican senators to potentially sue the Department of Justice potentially for hundreds of thousands of dollars because their phone records were reviewed after the January 6th attack. Now the speaker is saying that he plans to have a vote next week to try to repeal that measure.
Dave Anthony
Now there is a chance of another shutdown early next year. The funding approved in the bill only runs through January 30, though some agencies will be funded through the fiscal year, including agriculture, which means snap food assistance that was interrupted this month is funded now through September. Air traffic controllers will be paid in the next few days. So staffing levels are increasing again. But the FAA still has reduced flight schedules today, so about a thousand are canceled. With more than 500 delays.
Garrett Henny
Things are going to start getting better over the next few, but not today. So the airlines had largely already planned for this ramp up and cancellations and it's going to take some time for things to get back to normal.
