Kenya Chapman of Hampton, Virginia, charged with making false statements to investigators about providing the weapon to Muhammad Jalo, a.22 caliber weapon authorities say was stolen about a year ago and sold to Mohammed Jalo for $100 in the past week. Jalo, as a convicted felon, is not allowed to possess or own a firearm.

A former New York state trooper accused of ramming his vehicle into an SUV during a high speed chase leading to the death of an 11 year old girl has been convicted of manslaughter. Prosecutors say Christopher Baldner rammed his SUV twice on the New York State Thruway when he was attempting to pull over the girl's father for speeding. A sheriff's office in Florida nabs a man they say was part of one of those tech support scams that target the elderly.

Deputies from Flagler County, Florida arrested 20 year old Steven Mercado, who they accused of scamming an old woman out of $120,000 as part of a ploy that began when the victim got a pop up on her computer urging her to call a number for tech support while they could track Mercado. Sheriff Rick Stolly says they can't find the money. It could be that person's life savings that they, they stayed up their entire life and unfortunately in this case, you know, we couldn't get the money back. And now Mercado is out of custody as a judge said, only a $20,000 bond which he promptly paid. But he's also facing similar char.
