After Texas Republicans voted to redraw state congressional maps last month, allowing the GOP to gain additional US House seats. Lawmakers in Missouri's GOP controlled state House in a special session, passing a measure that would allow one of the states two Democrat held seats, the fifth Congressional District surrounding Kansas City, to potentially flip red it heads to the GOP controlled state Senate. Missouri Democrats called the redistricting push unconstitutional as President Trump noted last month that there are zero Republican House seats in many Democrat controlled states.
