The man accused of murdering a Ukrainian refugee on a train in North Carolina has been found incompetent and unable to stand trial.

After multiple outbursts in a federal courtroom, the judge found DeCarlos Brown Jr. Incompetent to stand trial for the murder of Irina Zyrutska. However, doctors say they believe his competency can be restored. And so the judge ordered Brown to be treated and hospitalized and will reconsider his status in four months. North Carolina U.S. attorney Russ Ferguson says he's hopeful one day Brown will stand trial. And Zyrutska's family said after the hearing in a statement that this finding was not unexpected, but that they are also hopeful for an eventual trial. Brown was already found incompetent in state court. He's accused of randomly stabbing the 23 year old to death on the Blue Line light rail train in Charlotte last August. Jessica Rosenthal, FOX News.

Rob Reiner's son, Nick is seeking money from a trust his parents set up for him for his defense in their killings. His attorney says Reiner is entitled to defense with the resources that are lawfully his. Reiner is accused of killing his parents in their Brentwood home Dec. 14. He was arrested hours later and has pled not guilty to two counts of murder. A Missouri man has pled guilty for his role in the kidnapping plot linked to a bitcoin theft hundreds of miles away.

U.S. attorney for the District of Connecticut David X. Sullivan says Saif Fike, who is 22 and from St. Louis, Missouri, pleaded guilty to what's known as a Hobbs act robbery in connection with a 2024 failed robbery turned kidnapping conn. To a cryptocurrency theft of $245 million. Sullivan says in an attempt to steal some of the bitcoin, Fike and others, including his brother, planned and coordinated the attempted kidnapping. Prosecutors say the scheme involved multiple people across several states using cell phones and encrypted messaging apps. Fike's brother and six others have also pleaded guilty. Fike faces up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced in August.
