Reversing course. I'm Debra Valentine, Fox News. Senate Republicans rejected a war powers resolution early Thursday after a heated meeting with President Trump. The measure would have symbolically blocked further military action in Iran. Fox's Ayesha Hosny reports from the White House.
Ayesha Hosny
The president was on a victory lap, especially after convincing enough Senate Republicans to change their minds and block a war powers resolution to limit his authority over what's happening in Iran. He says that that has now put Iran on notice. But a US Official confirms for us that Iran attacked a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz after Iran was warning ships that transiting the strait without authorization through them would be dealt with.

The International Maritime Organization has paused its plan to evacuate ships from the Strait of Hormuz. Speaking to reporters in Bahrain, Secretary of State Marco Rubio says American search and rescue teams are deployed to assist Venezuela.
Marco Rubio
We're already deploying search and rescue teams from Fairfax County, Virginia and Los Angeles. There'll be some others we'll add. That's their most immediate need right now, is search and rescue efforts. They have a bunch of collapsed buildings and so they'll need a lot of help in terms of digging through that.

Big end of term rulings from the Supreme Court today, including a new concealed carry ruling. Fox's Shannon Bream reports.
Shannon Bream
This was out of Hawaii, where if you have a concealed carry permit, which takes some doing there, the presumption under Hawaii law was that you couldn't take private property unless you got express permission from the owner of that private property. So things like shops or restaurants or really any private property. Well, the court shut that down today. They say that arrangement would impose a new burden on permit holders, people who've gotten these concealed carry permits. This other decision dealing with the border was about if you have to arrive in the US to start an asylum proceeding or an asylum claim, what if you're held on the side in New Mexico, you're not allowed to come in. Immigration advocates had said people should be accepted there, but the court said no. It says we decide only that an alien standing in Mexico does not, quote, unquote, arrive in the United States.
Debra Valentine
That ruling allows the Trump administration to return to limiting the number of people who can apply for asylum each day. It's called metering, dating back to President Obama's term. The court also sided with the Trump administration in ending temporary protected legal status for thousands of Syrian and Haitian immigrants. An immigration detention facility in the Florida Everglades is now officially closed.
Ron DeSantis
Florida officials have now shuttered the pop up migrant detention center built atop a closed airstrip in the Everglades, dubbed alligator alcatraz. Governor Ron DeSantis says the facility gave federal agencies options when housing captured criminal migrants intended to be deported.

Almost 21,000 deportations. And those would be people, by and large who would have been released back into society in Florida had this space not been there.
Ron DeSantis
The facility's use was criticized by some who claimed it was inhumane or that it impacted the sensitive wetlands surrounding it. Miami Evan Brown, FOX News.
