Spencer Graves
A man with down syndrome tries the.
Ashanti Plummer
Impossible, the grand slam in turkey hunting.
Spencer Graves
4:53 hits. We're legal, shooting light. And he gives us this one last chust.
Katie (Az's Mom)
Ow.
Spencer Graves
And he pitches off. And when he pitches off, he flies right into the gun barrel. I said to the cameraman, do you have him? He said, shoot him. I said, justin, shoot. Az Fudd
Hey, everyone, welcome back to another episode of FUD around and find out. I'm here with my girl, Ashanti. Ashanti, what's up? Hey, girl.
Ashanti Plummer
I'm so excited to be back with you. I've been waiting to show you what I got.
Az Fudd
What'd you get.
Ashanti Plummer
I got something that I cannot wait to wear at your games. But I did bring it out for today.
Az Fudd
A little.
Ashanti Plummer
A little bow. Hold on, let me show you.
Az Fudd
Oh, gosh.
Ashanti Plummer
Yes, baby. The AZ Buzz show. Get your tickets. I have been waiting. I do not have any AZ merch. Like, when you gave me the jersey, that was it. I was like, this cannot be my life. I'm supposed to be representing. And now I've been hooked up to the nil store. I have this and then I have another fire piece. This is already out now, if you're watching this. So if you don't got it, I'm confused. It should be sold out. Go do your big ones.
Az Fudd
But, like, you don't have to. You don't. You really don't need to listen to. But you do.
Ashanti Plummer
If you want to match with me representing az, go ahead and get it. Doesn't it look so fabulous? Yes. Thank you.
Az Fudd
Oh, gosh, Ashanti, it looks great on you.
Ashanti Plummer
Thank you. It's fire. Let me tell you something. There's some merch that gives less. You know what I'm saying? Just gives less. So you have fire merch. It's fun to wear. We gonna style it. The other one has your face on it.
Az Fudd
Oh, gosh.
Ashanti Plummer
I'm definitely going to, like, do a little something. Something might put some diamonds and sparkles on it because you know me, you know me. I'm not a minimalist.
Az Fudd
Yeah, you're quite extra.
Ashanti Plummer
And we'll be that. Thank you very much. And I am that when it comes to my girls. Anyways, how are you, darling?
Az Fudd
I'm great. Things are really good here. So I'm excited. I'm excited for today's episode. I'm excited for the season. What's coming up? Um, just excited for life. Excited for life.
Ashanti Plummer
I mean, you guys look great. I've been super. Listen, if I can't show up in person, I'm setting alarms, making sure I watch online to support.
Az Fudd
Thank you.
Ashanti Plummer
You guys are fun to watch. And we're really getting into the thick of it. You know, it's 2026. We're in the new year conference play.
Az Fudd
Yeah.
Ashanti Plummer
And wishing you the best of luck for the rest of your season.
Az Fudd
Thank you. Of course, darling.
Ashanti Plummer
Let me tell you something. You know who we have coming up today?
Az Fudd
We have a very exciting. A baby goat joining us.
Ashanti Plummer
Baby goat. Let me tell you some of her stats. I'm just gonna read em off. Ready? Freshman record holder for rebounds, 356 of them things. Ranked number two for UConn freshmen in points. Guess who she's behind? The one and only Ms. Maya Moore.
Az Fudd
Sounds about right.
Ashanti Plummer
Number two for UConn freshmen in assists and steals. And the NCAA record holder for for most points in an NCAA tournament by a freshman. Come on. And that is just her freshman year, baby. Sophomore year, she's already setting records and going off. So tell us, who is our special guest?
Az Fudd
Our special guest is Sarah Strong. Woo.
Ashanti Plummer
That's crazy, right?
Az Fudd
Sarah Strong, welcome to the P.O.
Ashanti Plummer
Okay, so we're so excited to have you, girl.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
Thank you.
Az Fudd
It is such an honor to have you. I'm like, we're talking to greatness right now.
Ashanti Plummer
The presence of a legend.
Az Fudd
Listeners, you better don't take this episode for granted. This is special.
Ashanti Plummer
Watch it real slow. Soak it in.
Sarah Strong
Okay.
Az Fudd
Okay. So I think that we should start the episode, getting to know Sarah. And something that I think is super interesting is just your childhood and, like, growing up in Spain, being fluent in Spanish like that, those are. Things are so cool, and I feel like they're not talked fun enough. So I think we should start there.
Sarah Strong
Okay.
Capital One Announcer
Period.
Az Fudd
Okay. So can you talk a little bit about how long did you live in Spain?
Sarah Strong
10 years. In Spain.
Ashanti Plummer
You were born there?
Sarah Strong
Yeah, in Madrid.
Ashanti Plummer
Spanish Mommy. What was that like?
Sarah Strong
I mean, it wasn't anything, like, special. It's kind of like the US but just in Spanish. I mean, it was cool being able to, I don't know, move around a lot as a kid. I feel like that made me very adaptable as I got older, if that makes sense. So I like that.
Ashanti Plummer
Do you have any fun memories from growing up in Spain?
Sarah Strong
Going to watch my mom play for her club. Like, I would practice, and then I would sit around and watch her practice because we play for the same club, so being able to learn from her was really cool also.
Ashanti Plummer
That's, like, legendary. Does that happen often? Like, I play for the same club as my amazing mother.
Az Fudd
What was the transition like? What was the differences between schools when you came to the U.S. the transition.
Sarah Strong
For me was, I would say, kind of difficult.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
I was just.
Sarah Strong
I didn't know what to expect moving to the U.S. i was really nervous. Like, I was scared I wasn't going to be able to understand because, like, Spanish was my first language. So I think moving here was. I don't know, it was gonna be hard for me to, like, read and comprehend and. I don't know, I was really scared that there was gonna be, like, a bully. Like, I watched a lot of movies in Spain about, like, US Schools, and I was scared, like, there was gonna, like, be a bully that was gonna, like, stuff me in the locker or something.
Az Fudd
Was there a bully that stuck?
Ashanti Plummer
That's. That's our reputation.
Az Fudd
No one took your lunch on this.
Ashanti Plummer
What were you watching? What were you watching?
Sarah Strong
I mean, like, kind of same. Same things here.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
Just in Spanish.
Az Fudd
Wait, that's actually really crazy to think that, like, your school was completely in Spanish. That I didn't even realize that, like.
Sarah Strong
English was a required class. Like, instead of. We didn't take Spanish, we took English. Like.
Az Fudd
Yeah, and reversed.
Sarah Strong
But, like, it was. It was like a core class. Like, in Spain, instead of. Okay, here, for example, we take, like, English, like, language, art, whatever. In Spain, it would be English instead of, like, Spanish. Like.
Az Fudd
Okay, okay.
Sarah Strong
So, like, English was, like, a requirement. Like, everyone. Everyone knew English spoke English.
Ashanti Plummer
So you moved to the United States. Where did you live?
Sarah Strong
I moved to North Carolina.
Ashanti Plummer
Okay, so what's that, like, different than Connecticut. I know that. Yeah.
Sarah Strong
The weather's a lot nicer. I like the South. I miss everything.
Ashanti Plummer
Okay, Southern belle.
Az Fudd
What's the best part about being in the South? Being in North Carolina.
Sarah Strong
Bojangles. I don't know. I really like the humidity. Like, here, it's so dry and windy. It's just buns. I go home, yo.
Az Fudd
Okay, fair. That's fair.
Ashanti Plummer
Why North Carolina? Did your mom play out there or something?
Sarah Strong
I think my grandparents were living there at the time, and we wanted to be close to them, so I just figured they wanted to be close.
Ashanti Plummer
So we were talking about your mommy growing up, watching your mom play. Are there any things that she taught you that have really shown up for you this season?
Sarah Strong
I don't know. She just always tells me to kind of be intentional about everything that I do on the court. And, yeah, I feel like when she played, she was always very physical, kind of, like, aggressive. She wouldn't let. I don't know, people kind of bump her and stuff like that. She would bring the physicality first, so I'll say that.
Dr. Joy Harden Bradford
Okay.
Az Fudd
I love when your mom is courtside. It's my favorite.
Ashanti Plummer
Courtside baddies.
Az Fudd
She is a courtside baddie.
Sarah Strong
No.
Az Fudd
Fun fact. Sarah's good at absolutely everything that she tries. That is so true. And she's also the fastest learner at everything.
Ashanti Plummer
Give me some examples.
Az Fudd
Did you teach yourself how to play piano as well?
Sarah Strong
Yeah.
Az Fudd
Okay, so she taught herself how to play piano. She's teaching herself how to play guitar. Taught herself how to do a Rubik's Cube.
Ashanti Plummer
You taught yourself how to do A Rubik's Cube?
Sarah Strong
I mean, no. I like, watch the video. Like, it's not teaching myself.
Az Fudd
Okay, but it's still like, you learn that on your own.
Ashanti Plummer
Girl, you took the time. And let me tell you something. Me and that Rubik's Cube will never go together. Never. I ain't got it. You may be a little genius.
Az Fudd
No, she really is. We're gonna start a band, Baby Genius.
Ashanti Plummer
What's the band name?
Az Fudd
Oh, what's our band name?
Ashanti Plummer
I love it.
Sarah Strong
Who's in the band?
Ashanti Plummer
You're gonna play guitar.
Az Fudd
You're gonna teach me how to play piano. KK's gonna be the dancer. And singer Sarah Williams can also be a dancer.
Sarah Strong
Sarah could not dance. She can't sing either. I really don't know.
Az Fudd
What's Kelis gonna do?
Ashanti Plummer
Yeah, Hype man. Rap.
Az Fudd
Duh. Kelis will be.
Sarah Strong
Ew. You're welcome.
Az Fudd
Sorry.
Ashanti Plummer
So what would your band name be?
Az Fudd
We're taking requests or. Not requests. Suggestions. We're taking suggestions. So if you have a good. Any ideas, drop it in the comments.
Sarah Strong
You, me, kk, Khalees, Sarah.
Az Fudd
I feel like we can find a role for everyone. But right now it's like, just.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
That's it.
Az Fudd
That's the five people.
Sarah Strong
Kaylee can dance.
Katie (Az's Mom)
Yeah.
Az Fudd
We gotta add Kyle in there.
Sarah Strong
I'm like an exception in our band.
Ashanti Plummer
Let's.
Az Fudd
Let's.
Ashanti Plummer
Quick little pivot. So we recently saw that you signed an Nil deal with Jordan Brand.
Sarah Strong
I did, yes.
Ashanti Plummer
Let's talk about it.
Sarah Strong
Thanks.
Az Fudd
Congratulations.
Ashanti Plummer
Congratulations.
Sarah Strong
Thank you. Thank you.
Ashanti Plummer
Yes. What made you go with Jordan?
Sarah Strong
I mean, I've always liked Michael Jordan a lot, and I wear Jordans. Used to wear Jordans growing up some. And I don't know, when I sat down and talked with them, it just really. They were really welcoming and felt like a family. So I wanted to be part of it.
Az Fudd
And we need to talk about how good you looked in your announcement pictures. And dance. The campaign. Incredible.
Ashanti Plummer
Girl, it was given.
Sarah Strong
Thank you.
Az Fudd
I almost went out and bought some Jordan stuff after that.
Sarah Strong
All right.
Ashanti Plummer
I love Jordan. I love Jordan girls.
Katie (Az's Mom)
So go ahead.
Ashanti Plummer
When you drop some, be like, yep, I need that nine and a half.
Az Fudd
And when we get that Jordan, Sarah, strong pe. I'm gonna need one of those, please.
Ashanti Plummer
Yes, please. Add me on your list. All the colorways.
Az Fudd
Okay? Oh, for sure.

Spencer Graves
May up there, Josh Allen up there still. Oh, my boy Matthew Stafford.
Ashanti Plummer
Where did Bo Nicks at?
Spencer Graves
He ain't too far behind.
Ashanti Plummer
He did all this talking.
Spencer Graves
What Matthew Stafford is doing statistically, bro, is crazy.
Nav Green
Bro, you know I ain't no Josh Allen fan, but Matthew Stafford got better weapon.
Spencer Graves
Caleb Williams hey, he should be in that conversation.
Ashanti Plummer
In what conversation?
Nav Green
He should be in it. Listen to Broken Play with Nav Green from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.

As cybersecurity expert Camille Stewart Gloucester reminds.
Az Fudd

Dr. Joy Harden Bradford

Like if we're on the air here and I literally have my contract here and I'm looking at, you know, as soon as I sign this, I'm gonna get a seven figure check. I've Told them I won't be wor working here in two weeks. From the underground clubs that shaped global music to the pastors and creatives who built the cultural empire, the Atlanta Is podcast uncovers the stories behind one of the most influential cities in the world. The thing I love about Atlanta is that it's a city of hustlers, man. Each episode explores a different chapter of Atlanta's rise, featuring conversations with ludicrous Will Packer, Pastor Jamal Bryant, DJ Drama, and more. The full series is available. Available to listen to now. I really just had never experienced anything like what was going on in the city as far as, like, you know, seeing so many young, black, affluent creatives in all walks of life. The church had dwindled almost to nothing.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
And God said, this is your assignment.
Sarah Strong
And that's, like, how you know, like, okay.
Spencer Graves
Oh, you from Atlanta for real. I ain't got to say too much.
Sarah Strong
I'm Grady, baby. Shut up.
Spencer Graves
Listen to Atlanta is on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you. You get your podcast.
Ashanti Plummer
All right, so let's talk a little bit of UConn. UConn basketball. Sarah, what was your first impression of Az?
Sarah Strong
My first impression of Az. She was really, like, quiet. Like, she didn't really. I didn't really feel like I talked to you that much last year.
Az Fudd
We were literally roommates on trips.
Sarah Strong
But, like, I'm saying, like, in the beginning, obviously, later, I'm saying in the beginning, like, I don't feel like I talk to you, like, that much.
Az Fudd
No. Yeah, we didn't talk. Didn't really talk to anyone that much anyways.
Sarah Strong
Yeah, she was just really quiet, kind of little shy girl. Yeah.
Ashanti Plummer
So both of y' all two shy girlies?
Az Fudd
Yeah, she's a shy girly. I didn't really like you at first.
Sarah Strong
She didn't like everyone.
Az Fudd
I was like, I don't know about this girl. She's quiet. All she does is, like, make faces like she's judging you all the time. But now that, like, I know that it's kind of your personality, like, I get it, but before, and I didn't know you, it was just like, you're silently judging, and I just. You just had this, like, stank about you.
Sarah Strong
Stank.
Ashanti Plummer
Like, she's joking.
Sarah Strong
No, she's not. She always says she doesn't like people. Like, you said that about Kiki.
Az Fudd
She was annoying. About who else?
Sarah Strong
Morgan. Morgan was annoying.
Ashanti Plummer
It's okay. She's also said about Khalees.
Az Fudd
She.
Ashanti Plummer
It's.
Az Fudd
It's Khalees. Is still annoying. I don't like her.
Ashanti Plummer
I know.
Sarah Strong
It's a lot easier.
Ashanti Plummer
She loves that bad. We know that's her.
Az Fudd
I do whatever. And then I look to her face.
Ashanti Plummer
Okay, Sarah, why'd you pick UConn?
Sarah Strong
I picked UConn because I. Well, obviously my favorite players played there, and I wanted to be coached by Coach Auriemma and his coaching staff. And I just like. I don't know, I like all the winning, and I really wanted to be part of it. And I saw like. Well, actually, no, I'm not gonna say that. I'm gonna say I saw KK going there, but that really didn't influence me. I don't know. I just really want to be part of winning, and I wanted to win, so came to UConn.
Ashanti Plummer
Makes sense to me.
Az Fudd
Speaking of coach, what's your favorite coach quote?
Sarah Strong
Like, when he's angry and he's like. No, seriously.
Az Fudd
Seriously. What was that?
Sarah Strong
Huh? What was that? When he opened his mouth. What's my favorite?
Az Fudd
I like the mouth open ones.
Ashanti Plummer
Oh, my gosh. Okay, so, sir, if AZ is on the Ox, right? You're traveling team trip. What kind of vibe are we getting the baby?
Sarah Strong
Like, she's been playing dababy non stop.
Az Fudd
That's not me on ox.
Sarah Strong
Oh, it's not?
Ashanti Plummer
No.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
Who is it?
Sarah Strong
That. Is it kk?
Az Fudd
I used to like the baby, but you.
Sarah Strong
You've told her that you like the baby or something, and AZ wants the baby non stop.
Az Fudd
That is. Okay.
Sarah Strong
The baby.
Az Fudd
Okay, but he has some bangers, so.
Sarah Strong
Okay, but like, you were on all.
Az Fudd
Scissors, and you're sitting there going bar.
Sarah Strong
For bar while we're trying to live.
Ashanti Plummer
Like he turns me up.
Az Fudd
There's no way all SZA's not gonna turn you up before practice.
Sarah Strong
I don't listen to scissors before practice.
Az Fudd
I know, but if you were on Ox, that's what you would put on.
Sarah Strong
I wouldn't though.
Az Fudd
What would you put?
Ashanti Plummer
What would you put?
Sarah Strong
Yeah, like the vibe. Like, I like NBA Youngboy when I before I play. Okay.
Az Fudd
Is he the one that's I thought was a bad bleep? I don't want to.
Sarah Strong
That's n choppo. You know who NBA Youngboy is.
Az Fudd
I know, but I don't remember which one is which.
Ashanti Plummer
Okay, what teammate are we not letting on the Ox?
Az Fudd
Ash.
Sarah Strong
Yeah, respectfully, I love Ash, but no.
Az Fudd
Pregame or pre practice music or Gandhi.
Ashanti Plummer
What Candy be listening to?
Sarah Strong
Like, underground. Oh, alternative music.
Az Fudd
She loves pnd Part.
Sarah Strong
Yeah.
Ashanti Plummer
Part next door.
Capital One Announcer
Yeah.
Ashanti Plummer
Okay.
Sarah Strong
Oh, I'm sorry. Or Sarah. I don't like her African music. No, no, no, no, no. Nothing wrong with Amy. I just, like, I'm her. I live with her, and I hear.
Ashanti Plummer
Like, afrobeats all the time.
Sarah Strong
Yeah, like, all the time. I'm like, I need a break. Like, I just need a break.
Az Fudd
But that's all right.
Ashanti Plummer
So more teammate questions. Which teammate is your favorite roommate on the road?
Az Fudd
Answer wisely.
Ashanti Plummer
Other than Az. There we go. There we go.
Az Fudd
Oh, I'm your favorite.
Sarah Strong
My favorite. I don't know. I like. I like all of them. I feel like they both. I mean, they both. They all, like, bring something different. I don't know. It's like, I live with Sarah. I'm going to Sarah. So it's like loud music. That's all I have to kind of get past. But I kind of like. I kind of like everyone. I don't know.
Az Fudd
But when we're roommates, you get to cuddle.
Sarah Strong
We've yet to cuddle. We have never cuddled before.
Az Fudd
Next trip, we're cuddling our bet. Well, one of the questions we have is which teammate is most likely to talk trash? And I just wanted to publicly announce that Sarah Strong is a trash talker.
Sarah Strong
I don't think so.
Az Fudd
You are.
Ashanti Plummer
I'm not.
Sarah Strong
I only talk when someone talks to me. Yeah. Like, and if our practice players are not going to say any names, are doing a little too much, and they have a chip on their shoulder for some reason, I'm like, you need to calm it down. Like, this isn't for you.
Az Fudd
Like, you put people in their place. I mean, like, you humble them, which is like, I feel like you're a very creative trash talker. And even just in life and in general, like, your insults are very creative, and that's something that I love about you.
Sarah Strong
Thank you.
Az Fudd
You're welcome.
Ashanti Plummer
Did she say something creative to you, Az, and made you be like, I respect it. Yes, but we don't have to say it.
Katie (Az's Mom)
Stop.
Az Fudd
I want to know. Go ahead, tell them. Go ahead and tell them. I mean, it's not, like, a bad thing.
Sarah Strong
It is not. And it's.
Az Fudd
It's true.
Ashanti Plummer
It is.
Sarah Strong
I say that. Well, like, I saw a TikTok about American girl at all teeth, and I tell Az all the time that she has American girl doll teeth, and there's nothing wrong with that.
Az Fudd
And now I'm not going to show my teeth.
Sarah Strong
You've been up. Your mother's been like this the whole time.
Az Fudd
Okay, well, I do. I just like something I'd never heard before. So thanks. What's your favorite place that you've traveled to for basketball? What do you mean? You played tingley.
Ashanti Plummer
I haven't been anywhere.
Az Fudd
Born in Spain, lived in Madrid.
Sarah Strong
I mean, I'm not gonna say Spain. That's obviously, like, good, but I like Hungary. Yeah, it's very different. The food's kind of nasty, but I kind of like the area that we were in when we played three on three, so it was cool.
Ashanti Plummer
Speaking of the food, who would you least trust? Trust the least to pick the dinner spot on your team, if that's hard or easier. One would be, who would you trust who has really good taste in food?
Sarah Strong
I really don't know. Like, who would you say they have, like, KK is always, like, knowing some, like, TikTok food spot.
Az Fudd
That's true.
Sarah Strong
So I'll say kk.
Az Fudd
Sarah cooks a little. She's got a little chef in her.
Ashanti Plummer
Would you be cooking girl?
Sarah Strong
Nothing really.
Az Fudd
Didn't you make steak recently?
Sarah Strong
That was, like, a while ago. But, like, it's steak. Anyone can make a steak.
Ashanti Plummer
No. No, they cannot.
Az Fudd
Not anyone. You've cooked other things. All right, whatever. You want to be a shy chef.
Sarah Strong
I'm not really my chef. A shy chef like Yana.
Az Fudd
Can you cook for me one day? Oh, yeah.
Sarah Strong
I'll make you a sandwich or something.
Az Fudd
Okay.
Katie (Az's Mom)
Never mind.
Sarah Strong
A grilled cheese.
Az Fudd
If you had to describe our team's personality based on how we play, how would you describe it?
Sarah Strong
I really don't know. Like, sometimes locked in, sometimes not. Like, when we're. Like, when we're locked in, like, we're good. Like, we all look like you know what we're doing, but when we're not, it's just like.
Az Fudd
And like today.
Sarah Strong
Yeah, that's a good example. Yeah, like, today's, like, no, Just kind of a mess.
Az Fudd
It's okay to have an off day, though. Like, we're just gonna come back and try again tomorrow.
Sarah Strong
Yeah, like, we were making.
Az Fudd
Don't be locked in.
Sarah Strong
We're saving up for.
Az Fudd
Yeah.
Ashanti Plummer
Sarah, if you weren't playing basketball, what sport would you play? Or if it's not a sport, what would you do?
Az Fudd
Be a theater kid.
Sarah Strong
Ooh, no. Like, what? Why would I be a theater kid?
Az Fudd
That's like. No, you're just very creative. I could see you being, like, artsy. Like, creative instruments. You are creative, though. Okay, whatever. Then what would you be, sport?
Sarah Strong
I would play hockey. Tennis. I like tennis.
Az Fudd
Or soccer, esports.
Ashanti Plummer
Oh, my God.
Sarah Strong
No, that's actually, like. No, not for me. I would play tennis.
Az Fudd
You Would have some power behind that.
Sarah Strong
Yeah, like my.
Az Fudd
Would you grunt and stuff?
Sarah Strong
No, that's not for me.
Ashanti Plummer
Okay, Sarah, so you play piano, guitar. What other random talents most people don't know you have? Can you sing?
Az Fudd
She can dance, though.
Sarah Strong
Az can sing.
Az Fudd
Shut up.
Ashanti Plummer
I've been waiting. Sarah, please make her sing.
Az Fudd
I cannot sing.
Ashanti Plummer
Sarah, make her hit a note. Sarah, I've been trying. I've been trying.
Sarah Strong
Ew. Like Disney songs.
Az Fudd
I cannot say. She's trolling. Just because I do sing doesn't mean I can't sing. Anyway, Sarah's a really good dancer.
Sarah Strong
No, I'm not.
Az Fudd
What else?
Ashanti Plummer
Sarah, come on. What's a random talent? People don't know.
Sarah Strong
I really do.
Ashanti Plummer
You draw?
Sarah Strong
No, I can't draw for anything that's not mine. That's about it.
Az Fudd
Well, those are.
Ashanti Plummer
That's a lot. Yeah, that's still a lot.
Az Fudd
I have no more questions for her.
Ashanti Plummer
All right, bet. Let's get right into some rapid fire. This or that. You guys, I'm gonna ask you something. You tell me which one you prefer. We gonna go quick, and we gonna be done. You ready? First one. Sweet or savory snacks? Which one we going with?
Sarah Strong
I would say sweet.
Ashanti Plummer
Sweet for me too.
Az Fudd
Depends on my mood. So right now I'm gonna say savory.
Ashanti Plummer
Okay. I thought you'd say savory because. Cottage cheese, but, you know.
Az Fudd
Next.
Ashanti Plummer
Bojangles or cookout.
Sarah Strong
Oh, my God.
Az Fudd
Are those your favorites from North Carolina?
Ashanti Plummer
Yeah, these are restaurants. Because I surely did not know what cookout is.
Sarah Strong
Like a fast food, I guess, like a drive through. Like, you just order. Like, it literally looks like you got food. Like, at a cookout, like in a ticket box or something.
Az Fudd
Is it barbecue or just.
Sarah Strong
No, it's like burgers, hot dogs, like fries, corn dogs. Yeah, it's obviously unhealthy, but I don't know. Like, I can't. I can't decide.
Az Fudd
You have to pick one. I'm going. Bojangles. I've never had cookout.
Ashanti Plummer
I've never had cookout either. So. Bojangles.
Sarah Strong
I'm gonna go.
Az Fudd
Dude, it sounds like you want to say cookout.
Sarah Strong
I do want to say cookout because they have, like, cheer wine and stuff like that. Like.
Az Fudd
Okay, so pick it up.
Sarah Strong
I'll say cookout. Like late night cookout.
Ashanti Plummer
Okay. Early mornings or late nights?
Az Fudd
Early mornings, late nights, late night. Cuddle sesh with Sarah. Strong.
Ashanti Plummer
Oh, my gosh. Late nights. Text or facetime?
Sarah Strong
I feel like it depends with who.
Ashanti Plummer
Like, that's fair. That's fair.
Sarah Strong
How do we FaceTime?
Ashanti Plummer
Yeah, I'm a FaceTimer.
Az Fudd
Neither.
Sarah Strong
You don't really respond at this point.
Az Fudd
In my life neither.
Ashanti Plummer
She said she gonna be better, y'.
Katie (Az's Mom)
All.
Az Fudd
I am gonna be better.
Ashanti Plummer
Okay. Home or away games?
Sarah Strong
I kind of like away games.
Az Fudd
I like away games.
Ashanti Plummer
Okay, well, I like to attend your home games. Sneakers or slides?
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
Slides.
Az Fudd
Sneakers.
Ashanti Plummer
Sneakers, for sure. It's okay, Sarah.
Sarah Strong
Like Uggs. Like, that's slides.
Ashanti Plummer
I didn't even think about that. But they got the little, you know, thing on the bag.
Az Fudd
It's like a slip on, though. It's more of a zip on.
Ashanti Plummer
Sport mode. You know what I'm saying? Now it's the sneaker. Beach or city? Oof.
Sarah Strong
Beach.
Ashanti Plummer
Jinx city. You know, resident New Yorker. All right, that's all we got. That's the end of that game. Rapid fire. Sarah, you're the best. Thank you.
Katie (Az's Mom)
Thank you.

Like if we're on the air here and I literally have my contract here and I'm looking at, you know, as soon as I sign this, I'm going to get a seven figure check. I've told them I won't be working here in two weeks. From the underground clubs that shape global music to the pastors and creatives who built a cultural empire, the Atlanta Is podcast uncovers the stories behind one of the most influential cities in the world. The thing I love about Atlanta, Atlanta is that it's a city of hustlers, man. Each episode explores a different chapter of Atlanta's rise, featuring conversations with ludicrous Will Packer, Pastor Jamal Bryant, DJ drama, and more. The full series is available to listen to now. I really just had never experienced anything like what was going on in the city as far as, like, you know, seeing so many young, black, affluent creatives in all walks of life. The church had dwindled almost to nothing.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
And God said, this is your assignment.
Sarah Strong
And that's like how you know, like, okay.
Spencer Graves
Oh, you from Atlanta for real? I ain't gotta say too much.
Sarah Strong
I'm Grady, baby.
Katie (Az's Mom)
Shut up.
Spencer Graves
Listen to Atlanta is on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.
Ashanti Plummer
All right, you guys, we're gonna get into our fun and games and we have some special guests, don't we, Az?
Az Fudd
We have some very special guest today. Joining us, we have both of our moms, Ms. Salison and Katie.
Ashanti Plummer
We are so glad to have you guys.
Katie (Az's Mom)
Thanks for having us.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
I'm excited to be here. I know.
Ashanti Plummer
Okay, I have one question before we get into the fun, both of you, how does it feel to know that you birth Generational talents. This is a rare experience that you guys both share.
Sarah Strong
You want to go first.
Ashanti Plummer
Don't be in a rush. To answer. Don't be in a rush.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
I don't really, I don't really think about it in those terms. Hush, Sarah. I don't really think about it in those terms. I'm just kind of proud to be on the, on the journey with her, to be able to, to watch and have her experience the game of basketball the way that she is because it's a wonderful game, it opens a lot of doors and all that stuff. So I don't really think about the generational part. I just think about her and her teammates just on this wonderful journey.
Ashanti Plummer
Oh, Miss Katie.
Katie (Az's Mom)
I would say I'm along that same line, so definitely don't look at it that way. I look at AZ and see like the little 23 year old that, you know, with the cute little curls and just the goofy little kid that's like, I can't get past that. She'll just always be my little girl. So watching her grow up, watching her having these life experiences and like Allison said, having opportunities through basketball that open doors, that open the world to her, it's really fun to be on this and to be there cheering her, Sarah, the entire team on. Also, I think we get a different perspective from when we were playing from the parent side of we get to now enjoy and hang out with each other. We've made more friends and have this wonderful group that, that we can call family as well. So as much as the kids get along and they have fun together, we're having that same kind of fun, if not a little more on the sidelines.
Ashanti Plummer
So we have a mom trivia game and I'm going to ask you guys questions and you're going to answer to the best of your abilities. It's going to be light and easy, ladies. All right, first one, Katie, what is AZ's go to post game meal?
Katie (Az's Mom)
I don't know that she has a go to post game meal. Just something healthy, some protein, some lean carbs, like a vegetable or something. Not bread, nuts, Anything fried? Yeah, maybe. I mean, if it was ideal, something with cottage cheese in it.
Ashanti Plummer
Az, I'd agree.
Az Fudd
I mean, I would say what we get for post game meal if I got to choose wouldn't be what I'm what we have to eat. So I feel like if I could choose I would definitely get like some protein, veggies and cottage cheese, but that's not available. So. What do you mean, girl?
Ashanti Plummer
You and Cottage cheese. I can't. But anyways. Ms. Allison, what's Sarah's go to post game meal?
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
This is by choice or this is what's provided.
Ashanti Plummer
We're gonna say choice. Like, we're gonna say choice.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
What would she choose? I'm gonna go with Panera Bread. Maybe.
Sarah Strong
I do like Panera.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
Chipotle.
Katie (Az's Mom)
You're right.
Sarah Strong
With Panera.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
Okay. I'm gonna go with something from. From Panera Bread.
Az Fudd
Sarah.
Sarah Strong
Panera, Probably. Yeah.
Az Fudd
Okay.
Ashanti Plummer
Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. All right, next one. Allison, you're gonna go first. What is Sarah's number one catchphrase?
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
Catchphrase? Does it include bruh girl? Whatever it is, it's going to include bruh or girl in it. I would say. Okay.
Az Fudd
A side eye.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
Yeah, definitely. Definitely. Yeah. I would say more a facial expression than actual verbally expressing something. Facial expression plus bruh.
Az Fudd
Sarah, you're about to say it.
Sarah Strong
She ate.
Ashanti Plummer
Oh, she ate that. Okay. Ding, ding, ding. Ms. Katie, az's number one catchphrase.
Katie (Az's Mom)
I don't know what number one catchphrase. I think she goes in. I don't know, like, varies in what she says. I don't know that it's one thing.
Az Fudd
I'd say it changes.
Katie (Az's Mom)
Yeah. And depending on the audience.
Ashanti Plummer
That's fair. That's fair. I don't know what we would. Is that a point? Is that not a point, Az?
Az Fudd
Yeah, I mean, I would say this. This is a hard question because I don't really. The time I spend around them, I don't think they hear my go to sayings. Like, I feel like Sarah would know better, but. So I seem to get a pass.
Ashanti Plummer
Okay, I'm switching this one. Y' all ready? Sarah? Az, I got a question about your mamas. Okay.
Katie (Az's Mom)
Uh.
Ashanti Plummer
Oh, Sarah, what's your mom's biggest pet peeve?
Sarah Strong
No sense of urgency. Not being on time, not being clean. Oh, yeah.
Ashanti Plummer
She said pet peeves with an S.
Sarah Strong
She doesn't like when I lay on the couch and leave the pillows. Like, not in the same order that they were in before. She doesn't like shoes in her house. Just.
Ashanti Plummer
She had to get this off her chest. She had to get this off her chest.
Sarah Strong
Just not picking up after yourself, not being on time. Did I say that already?
Az Fudd
Yeah.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
Oh, well, you don't have to. You generally have been a person who's not ever been late. Like, you wake up before your alarm, for sure. The other stuff we've had, we've evolved. Let's just put it that way.
Sarah Strong
Okay.
Az Fudd
Yeah. Especially not being clean. You should probably work on that a little more.
Ashanti Plummer
Oh, my goodness. Anyways, Az, she for real. Go ahead, hit her with the bra, the side eyebrows.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
Exactly.
Sarah Strong
She knows she's projecting, so I'm not even gonna worry about her.
Az Fudd
My mom is. Pet peeves.
Ashanti Plummer
Good pivot.
Az Fudd
Definitely peeves. Oh, pet peeves.
Ashanti Plummer
We said one, and she went off. She went off?
Az Fudd
Yeah. I don't know if I'm gonna eat like Sarah, but definitely lack of sense of urgency. I'd say that's a big one for her. And there's the long list, but, Ms. Katie, that's rude. What do you mean? It's true. People not listening. Specifically the boys.
Katie (Az's Mom)
All the stuff you should be doing normally.
Az Fudd
Okay. Smacking, chewing. Loud.
Ashanti Plummer
She's like. She's like, existing. Breathing.
Katie (Az's Mom)
No, you can breathe. Just don't be obnoxious. It's a simple equation.
Ashanti Plummer
So she was correct in her.
Katie (Az's Mom)
Yeah.
Az Fudd
I mean, yeah.
Katie (Az's Mom)
Sense of urgency. Life's busy. You gotta get to spot to spot, and you're late. That's the problem. It's rude.
Ashanti Plummer
Okay. All right, back to the moms. Katie, you gonna go first. What is AZ's favorite player or who is not what? Who is AZ's favorite player?
Katie (Az's Mom)
Are we cheating other than Sarah Strong?
Ashanti Plummer
Are we cheating other than Sarah Strong?
Katie (Az's Mom)
I would say, I think at this point, maybe Nafisa Collier would be my guess.
Az Fudd
Correct. Okay.
Ashanti Plummer
Allison, who is Sarah's favorite player?
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
I'm gonna go with Maya Moore. If I can't say mom, honestly, then I'm gonna say Maya Moore.
Sarah Strong
Girl.
Az Fudd
I know.
Capital One Announcer
That's right.
Sarah Strong
It's Maya.
Ashanti Plummer
Didn't you say that was one of the sayings, girl?
Sarah Strong
Because, like, what?
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
I know her.
Ashanti Plummer
Was she right? Sarah?
Sarah Strong
Yeah, she was.
Ashanti Plummer
I mean, I feel like Maya is, like, everyone's favorite player, and then there's everyone else.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
Right? I'd agree with that.
Ashanti Plummer
Ooh. Okay, this is going to be quite a question. Ms. Katie, I'm going to start with you. What's az's favorite book?
Katie (Az's Mom)
Oh, geez. I have no clue. Favorite book of all time. She reads a lot of books, so I have no clue.
Capital One Announcer
I.
Katie (Az's Mom)
My favorite.
Capital One Announcer
Not.
Az Fudd
Not.
Ashanti Plummer
They are gagged.
Az Fudd
I want to know what's so funny.
Ashanti Plummer
Right? I'm gonna get to y'.
Az Fudd
All.
Ashanti Plummer
She gonna be like, sarah don't read.
Sarah Strong
That's what she's gonna continue. No, no, I'm not gonna say.
Ashanti Plummer
It's gonna be like Dr. Seuss. All right, I'm sorry. Go ahead. Katie.
Az Fudd
Yeah.
Sarah Strong
I don't know.
Katie (Az's Mom)
I have no clue.
Capital One Announcer
What her favorite.
Sarah Strong
Oh, man.
Katie (Az's Mom)
She reads so many books.
Az Fudd
That's fair.
Ashanti Plummer
What's your favorite book? A. Mm.
Az Fudd
I'd say one of my recent favorites. Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.
Katie (Az's Mom)
Yep.
Az Fudd
I'm supposed to.
Ashanti Plummer
I'm supposed to read that. You and Malika have tasked me. Malika Andrews have tasked me with that book. All right, Allison, what is Sarah's favorite book?
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
Can I share why we're. While we're chuckling.
Ashanti Plummer
Please, please share. Absolutely. Share with the class.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
She may or may not remember this, but I remember early on, when we were trying to introduce Sarah to reading, she had one book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid. And, you know, we would constantly ask, hey, you reading? And that would be, like, her go to book for a long time. Like, a long. Like, I'm still reading this book. Still reading this book. So. Yeah, can't be that right now. I. I don't know. I'm gonna. I don't know what her favorite book is. I'm just gonna guess and say the Bible.
Sarah Strong
I don't know.
Ashanti Plummer
I know that's right.
Az Fudd
Amen.
Ashanti Plummer
I know that's right.
Sarah Strong
Okay, number one, she doesn't think I read. And I literally started reading when I went to college. Like.
Az Fudd
Yeah, she actually does.
Sarah Strong
I finish. I actually finished a book recently.
Ashanti Plummer
Oh, what book?
Katie (Az's Mom)
Girl, what book you started when you went to college?
Sarah Strong
No, this is my second one. Thank you, though. The crash by Freda McFadden.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
Okay, dope, dope.
Sarah Strong
Yeah.
Ashanti Plummer
Come on, my girl, Reed. Okay, cut the rumors.
Az Fudd
You look like a. You look like someone who'd enjoyed Diary. Go meet kid, though. That's very.
Sarah Strong
What are you trying to say?
Az Fudd
No, I just feel like that is something that fits you.
Katie (Az's Mom)
Is it the one with the cheese Touch?
Az Fudd
Yeah.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
Yes.
Ashanti Plummer
That's jokes.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
She's more of a gamer.
Ashanti Plummer
We got five more. We gonna make them light. I'm gonna start with AZ And, Sarah.
Az Fudd
Az.
Ashanti Plummer
What do you think was your first word? Obviously don't remember it.
Az Fudd
I don't know, like, mom or basketball or ball.
Ashanti Plummer
Girl, you were saying basketball. Okay, just ball.
Sarah Strong
Just ball.
Az Fudd
Just ball.
Ashanti Plummer
Like mom or ball or something. Sis was 1 years old. Like basketball. You know what it is?
Az Fudd
Maybe it was cottage cheese.
Ashanti Plummer
Oh, honestly. Honestly, at this point, I believe it. Katie, what was her first word?
Katie (Az's Mom)
Yeah, I think it was, like, mom or something. I don't remember that either.
Ashanti Plummer
Sarah.
Az Fudd
Oh. Is your word in Spanish?
Ashanti Plummer
I was just about to be like.
Az Fudd
Her first word is like, that's.
Ashanti Plummer
Hola. No, seriously, what do you think your first word was?
Sarah Strong
I really don't even know where to guess.
Az Fudd
Wait, can we do like a Spanish and an English guess?
Sarah Strong
Like mom and English or that is English.
Ashanti Plummer
Mamas.
Sarah Strong
No, I'm kidding.
Az Fudd
Please don't.
Ashanti Plummer
She said cut that.
Az Fudd
Cut that. Okay.
Ashanti Plummer
Do you remember her first word, Allison?
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
It's probably Dada or Mama, one of the two. I don't remember which one.
Az Fudd
Okay. We just love our parents so much.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
Yeah.
Ashanti Plummer
Okay.
Katie (Az's Mom)
I feel sarcasm there, but we know it's real.
Ashanti Plummer
Yeah, yeah.
Az Fudd
Better.
Ashanti Plummer
They gave you life, you know, they like to say, I give it to you. I could take it from you. Alison, who was Sarah's first best friend?
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
Sarah's first best friend, I want to say.
Ashanti Plummer
Oh my goodness.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
She had a few. The one that, the one that stands out is probably Cecilia. Cecilia. She used to what? I don't know what grade you're in. Probably third grade.
Sarah Strong
This was in Madrid.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
Yeah, that was. And so, yeah, Cecilia. They were like the two tallest girls in the school.
Ashanti Plummer
So Sarah, you don't remember, do you?
Sarah Strong
No, I do. I knew she's gonna say that because.
Az Fudd
Yeah, I love it.
Ashanti Plummer
Cecilia, if you're out there. Also. Sorry, quick sidebar. Allison, are you fluent in Spanish?
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
Speak Spanish.
Ashanti Plummer
We might have to get you to talk to Sarah because Sarah was acting like she couldn't put three words together in Spanish for us.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
She can. She can.
Ashanti Plummer
And I believe it.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
She's just.
Sarah Strong
I believe it.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
Obstinate.
Ashanti Plummer
Katie, do you remember who az's first best friend was when she.
Katie (Az's Mom)
Before school, she had a girl named Nalani who actually plays for Providence now And then once she started school, she went with. There were a couple, but I would say Christian was probably one of her first best friends and she's going to be president someday. She's amazing.
Ashanti Plummer
Oh, no, that's right.
Az Fudd
Yeah.
Ashanti Plummer
And she's correct. Az.
Az Fudd
Yeah, she's correct.
Ashanti Plummer
Let's do some rapid fire ones. Last three. Ooh, you know what?
Az Fudd
Yeah.
Ashanti Plummer
This is going to the parents, the mamas first. Katie, who is az's first celebrity crush?
Katie (Az's Mom)
I don't know, I would say like Justin Bieber or something.
Ashanti Plummer
Not the little bang, the bang.
Katie (Az's Mom)
She's some of his songs.
Az Fudd
Yeah, maybe I wasn't like a huge like Belieber, but it's cute. I'll take that.
Ashanti Plummer
Allison, who was Sarah's first celebrity crush.
Sarah Strong
From High School Musical?
Ashanti Plummer
I know that's right.
Sarah Strong
Zac Efron or Corbin Blue Chat. Is his name Chad?
Ashanti Plummer
Oh, the Sharpay's brother.
Sarah Strong
No, the curly hair.
Az Fudd
The light skinned one.
Ashanti Plummer
Yeah, I don't remember.
Az Fudd
I had to Google it.
Sarah Strong
Troy's friend or like I Think his name is.
Ashanti Plummer
Is it Chad?
Az Fudd
Okay, I think it might be Chad or Ross Lynch.
Sarah Strong
Ross lynch is a coup.
Ashanti Plummer
Okay.
Az Fudd
Jacob Sartorius. No.
Ashanti Plummer
Wow.
Az Fudd
Think of him in your car. Is that not him?
Sarah Strong
Oh, that's Jacob Elordi.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
Oh, he's.
Az Fudd
Sorry, wrong Jacob. Sorry, wrong Jacob.
Ashanti Plummer
That was fun. So, Katie, what was AZ's first big win, in your opinion?
Katie (Az's Mom)
First big win? I think there are quite a few, but the most significant was probably when we went to play Bishop McNamara at Bishop McNamara where they tried to give us 25 tickets to get in real hostile environment and we went in and beat them. They might have been one of the country at the time and we were two. Is that accurate?
Az Fudd
I don't remember.
Katie (Az's Mom)
Yeah, but those, those were big just because that was. I mean, there was other wins that I think were. Were good, but that one was really significant because they just hated us. And to go into someone's home and beat them with barely any of our fans, all the whole gym packed with them, I think that was, that was big.
Ashanti Plummer
Az, what do you remember as your first big win?
Az Fudd
That, like winning a gold medal was big? It wasn't like very hard, but it was. That was like a big win getting a play by Team usa, So I would say maybe that too.
Ashanti Plummer
Okay, Allison, do you remember Sarah's first big win?
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
I don't know what she would consider a big win. I remember early and she was playing i9 sports. She was probably one of the only girls out there playing, and she hit a game winner and knocked her defender down and stepped over him like just very.
Ashanti Plummer
I know that's right. You better go ahead. Kobe.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
I remember that. That stands out. She, they. She was playing in Madrid, like the Madrid championships, and her team won a big game, but other than that, I don't know what she would consider her first big win.
Ashanti Plummer
Okay, Sarah, what do you consider your first big win?
Sarah Strong
I was trying to think about me in Spain, but I just kind of went to like winning a gold medal with three on three, like Team USA stuff. So.
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
Okay.
Ashanti Plummer
All right, so now we're gonna switch it to first big loss. Allison, you want to go first?
Allison (Sarah's Mom)
Yeah. I think it wasn't big in terms of like life changing, but I do think the loss last year against USC affected her more than I've seen a loss affect her. Just because she missed free throws at the end of the game. That for me is not her losing the game. They could have. They lost in other areas of the game, but I think that was the game that probably affected her. The Most.
Ashanti Plummer
Sarah.
Sarah Strong
Yeah, I agree. Definitely that one. That's a really good one. Yeah, I would say that one. Or losing to img. Losing to Khalees.
Az Fudd
You lost to Khalees.
Ashanti Plummer
You lost to Khalees.
Sarah Strong
Khalees ended my high school career. Yeah. My senior year. I mean, but I had 30, so it's like.
Ashanti Plummer
I had 30. Real calm, you know, whatever.
Sarah Strong
Kidding. But no, probably the USC one.
Ashanti Plummer
Okay. Turned you into a. A monster. Katie, do you remember az's first big loss?
Katie (Az's Mom)
First big loss.
Ashanti Plummer
Mm.
Katie (Az's Mom)
I think I'll go back to high school. I think it was sophomore year. You guys lost the Miami Country Day at the Nike toc. And I think that was. That was a tough one.
