Chris Winterbauer (3:58)
In 1995, the world's most successful actor strapped himself to the mast of a catamaran in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. A helicopter nearly decapitated him and he almost drowned. He did it for his art. He did it for what he loved. He did it for Waterworld. My name is Chris Winterbauer and I believe that every movie is a miracle, even the bad ones. Join me every other week on what Went Wrong, a podcast dedicated to finding the chaos and humanity in Hollywood's biggest flops and most shocking successes.

Airbnb Milestone Narrator (9:40)
Twelve years ago, three guests checked into an Airbnb for the first time. Today, three new guests check in every half second, making each half second a chance to go from stranger to friend, To embrace another culture, to see yourself in someone else from across the globe. The more we interact with one another, the more we realize our differences are only imagined. People are people, no matter what side of the planet they're from. Today marks the half billionth guest arrival on our platform, as well as one more half second towards a world where anyone can belong anywhere.
Airbnb Co-founder (13:35)
I think I'm less a visionary than an expeditionary in the sense that I didn't have a vision. I discovered something one week and I couldn't pay rent. I decided to let people in my house only to make money for the most part, I thought it'd be fun, and I ended up becoming friends with these people. And it made me realize that, like, these homes are these private spaces that you never let anyone in, but you understand why there's no trust. And we thought, well, if we could solve a system of trust and make them not feel like strangers, this would be an idea that spread around the world. I think we have trouble imagining sociological changes, sometimes harder than technological changes. We can all imagine things getting bigger, faster, but it's hard to imagine us changing behavior.
