It just goes to show my lack of geographical, like, knowledge and stuff. Like I was like, oh, that's Grenada too, because it's Like, a popular island. And I, like, said that to, like, the cab driver, and he was like, that's actually our sister island. Like, that's not part of it. I was like, oh, no, no worries. So, like, I'm just like St. Vincent. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But there's, like, other little island because, you know, it's like, there's like, they're like, we have 40 islands in this. Only, like, seven of them have people on them. You know, it's like one of. One of those type of places.

But, yes, I was in Paris for a trip, a brand trip with dsw, as we kind of hinted at last week in our episode with Kit, which I think a lot of people are loving. We, like, texted a little bit and, like, there definitely were some voice memos sent, but we, like, wanted to. You know.

I feel like you didn't sleep on this trip. Did you sleep?

No, I didn't.

I could just tell because you were, like, texting. Like, I was like, just got back from dinner and you were, like, live texting. Oh, my God. Is it not like three in the morning there?

Like, it was. It was like 2:33 in the morning that last night especially because I was just like at this point, mind you, I'm going to be trying, I was trying to get back into the east.

[Brooke]

Coast time up and traveling and whatnot. No, I was thinking about it like, wow, she's really been having long days because long day. I feel like the content start time to the content end time. Just in terms of like the texting. Com.

[Danielle]

It was never ending.

[Brooke]

Oh my God. When is she resting?

Like, no sleep.

[Brooke]

No sleep Bus club. Were you just riding on adrenaline or like what was the.

[Danielle]

Yeah.

Excited to be there.

Honestly, the DSW team planned it really well. We where we didn't really have early mornings so I, Okay. I even if I didn't sleep that much, it's like I had a really leisurely morning which really appreciated because then it was, you know, lots of fun activities and we all like this was one of the brand trips where like I'd say most trips that you and I have gone on, we're not being paid to be there. Yeah. But this one transparently, like we were also being paid to be there, which was just like the coolest thing ever.

[Brooke]

Like a job. A job. Yeah.

[Danielle]

Being paid to go to Paris. I've never been and I'm not like, I don't want to be shady or like be mean towards others, but like I've never been the person to be like, oh, I'm going on like a work trip.

[Brooke]

Because you in your brain, like, you see it as like an exciting like opportunity. More so.

[Danielle]

Yeah.

[Brooke]

I think that that's the difference.

[Danielle]

Like I don't think you say it either. I, I, unless it's a specific people.

[Brooke]

I was going to say I kind of started to, to like Ben's family for sure when I explained it to them and like when I explained it to like people that are, I don't want to be ageless, but like over a certain age that may be new to this world.

[Danielle]

Right.

[Brooke]

My parents, I don't have to say work trip because like they were with us, you know, when we were getting emails like, come on this trip like in high school and college.

[Danielle]

Yeah. They know, my God, what is this?

[Brooke]

Yeah, well, but I feel like it started as opportun. Quote, opportunity. This is quotes.

[Danielle]

Yeah.

[Brooke]

For us it was very much so, like, hey, come like for a fun weekend of this. And it, I will say has developed into more work trips from what I've seen. It's like you got your list of deliverables that you're either being paid to be there or like it's in exchange for the trip. Like on. Yeah, sort of. You sign a contract. Like, it feels more like work these days.

[Danielle]

No, it. And it definitely is. I just. I don't know why. Coming out of my mouth, like, I'm going to Paris for a work trip. Like, I mean, that sounds so sick. But I'm like, I literally am having the best time. But it definitely, especially this one. Like, since we were also getting paid, there were expectations. Expectations. You know, multiple story frames a day, multiple in feed posts.

This is contracted though.

[Danielle]

It's not even on good faith. Like handshake. Like this is fully like a document. Yeah, like you're doing this.

[Danielle]

Yeah, yeah, exactly. Like on site approvals. Like you'd literally like, you know, send your content to them and they say approved or can you add this? And it was really cool. I feel so grateful that that was work. I just had to say that from the start. But yeah. So we will get into all the trips. I feel like we should first do a little housekeeping. Sweep. Sweep.

You gotta work backwards kind of.

Panic. For me, honestly, I've been relaxed af, like I have to say, like the past week, I'm like literally on happy time. Like I am chill. Yeah.

I know. Well, we had a little like, what was the work related panic? I feel like just like random.

With last week. But then after that I was like, I'm literally on vacation. I'm. Oh, whoa. Oh. Like, yeah, whatever. But I will say my panic on the trip was just I texted Gretchen before I went on the trip because she had gone to this exact destination.

Perfect.

Sandals St. Vincent. I will speak very highly of it to come because it was just amazing. And I was like, is there anything I need to know? You know, like, no, before you go. And she was like oh. Like yes. We loved taking the boat in. Like she's like, we took the car all the way the first time and like we decided the boat was better. Like hahaha. And she kind of said, I think she might have said, like, you'll see why or something. I was like, it was like, it's definitely like a cliffhanger. I was like, we'll take the boat, like, and it's like a 10 minute or 15 minute car ride to the boat. Then that gets you in versus a 50 minute drive.

[Danielle]

Oh wow.

[Brooke]

I know why. Cuz we had to take the car on the way home due to an early flight. It is the scariest roads I've ever been on in my entire life. Like, I don't even know what the traffic laws are. I don't know if there are, but the drivers are excellent. I will say that they are highly skilled because like I'm like, okay, this is the end. Like I'm falling off the cliff now. Like, goodbye. Like, it's like it feels like you're on a Disney ride where it's like, you know, like.

[Danielle]

Yeah.

[Brooke]

Dangle you over the edge.

I know exactly what you're talking about.

Yes. It was like a literally like ride through St. Vincent. I look over Ben, he gets the worst motion sickness. He was like holding on for. He's holding on to like the thing, the.

He was holding on to the ocean handle so hard that it broke it just like, oh my God. What do you. Do you say something? Do you nod? And he was like, it was loose for sure. It was one of those type of rides. I was completely. Honestly, for some reason I was just like a little too relaxed. I feel like I had a comic relief with him. Like, yeah, so much. But yeah. Where have been the scariest roads you've been on? Italy is some scary roads.

[Danielle]

Italy, actually I haven't had the experience, but I've only been to like Rome and Venice. You went to like when you do.

[Brooke]

It'S the coast because like they're not made for this many people to be there. Right. Like it's so.

[Danielle]

It's that kind of like you were riding along like a mountain and it.

[Brooke]

Would be like one lane road into two. Like it just. I know that it would make sense. Obviously you live there. That's what you're familiar with.

[Danielle]

Yeah.

[Brooke]

Me, I was just like, what is no traffic pattern? Like there's no rules.

[Danielle]

Like there are no. No rules. That's so scary. Yeah.

Was one of those type of places and there's no straight roads. Like it's just all windy because it's like. And the taxi driver at one point he pointed to like he was like that blue house over there. All the houses are like different colors, which I love.

It was so, so pretty.

[Brooke]

It's like that blue house. Like it looks like it's right there. I can't even tell you how long it would take you to get there because it's like one of those, like, you have to go up and down and around and around and like. Yeah. Finally end up there. I know. Yeah. So beware.

It is nice though when you have like comic relief and like someone else is more miserable than you and you're just like dying. Laug.

I know. And I didn't like actually fear for my life. Like, that was.

I was like, wow, this is scary. But like, you know when the driver's just like, this is legit every day.

My panic of the week was I feel like you and I are really well traveled and like we're at the airport. We've got our digital id, our TSA pre check, our clear. Like we know the ropes, you know.

Because we've been doing carry ons for our live shows. I've been loving having a carry on bag so I can put my heavy tote bag on top and you can just like walk with it. It's just. It's kind of a little hack. And I was like, oh, I'll just put all of my products because they're all mini in the carry on bag.

Oh, they have rules.

So we're walking through and they hand Remy and I these little, little Ziploc bags. And I said to Remy, I was like, what's this for? And she was like, it's for your products. It has. All of your products have to go in this bag. And I was like, I have so many products in my suitcase. Like, I couldn't have more products in my suitcase. And it was like this big of a bag.

What. Why did you do this again? You wanted to bring them on the plane with you. You just.

[Danielle]

I just was like, my suitc. I decided to have my suitcase be all clothes. And then my carry on was like products and my curling iron, stuff like that.

[Brooke]

I just.

[Danielle]

I don't know. We'll never do this again.

[Brooke]

I tried to outsmart the system, outsmart this.

[Danielle]

I don't know. I was just like. And God forbid, like, I get. Yeah, it leaks. Like, I just wanted it to be with me. It's just a lot of moving pieces. So then Remy's like, yeah, that's not a good idea. Like, I'm. She was like, I'm not trying to make you panic, but they literally might throw everything away that you can't fit in that bag. And I was like, okay. And at that point, I was in. I, like, I went like, I couldn't go get my checked bag.

Yeah.

[Danielle]

So anyways, I just did as much as I could. You know, it's very vulnerable. I'd open my suitcase on the, you know, the landing pad and everyone's staring, staring. And so honestly, I don't know if it just. They gave me a pass, but I took all of the liquids out of my skin care bag and put it in the Ziploc and then I just took my makeup bag out, like, and I just put it in a separate tray and it went through just fine.

[Brooke]

Wow.

[Danielle]

So we actually. Nothing got thrown away.

[Brooke]

Oh my God. You got so lucky. I tossed it all and been like, you only get one bag. Perfect.

[Danielle]

Yes. I was fully prepared to lose. Lose it all. I was like, well, I'll get my skincare in. But that was just like. I mean, it was just like traveling in a foreign country, obviously. Like.

[Brooke]

Yeah, you don't different exact, like requirements and stuff. I thought you were gonna say that Remy let you go into her bag, but she, I'm assuming, needed it too.

[Danielle]

She. Yeah, but she knew. She was like, for some reason. I just remember in London and Paris, it's always like this. Like in other countries with the bag. It's not. Yeah, but those two airports. So that was panic. But. But yeah. What are you loving this week?

What am I loving? I got new glasses. Not like glasses.

I missed just dishes and everything, like, and I just need to talk about it.

But what I'm really excited about is the drinking glasses. They.

My friend that's getting married, she lives in New York and in her apartment, they don't have any plans to like move anytime soon. And she was like, I'm really struggling with our registry because, like, there's all these things we house one day, but like, we're not moving from New York anytime soon, so.

And there's no room for.

Food processor. Like. Yeah, one day you will need it. But yeah.

Yeah. So she's like, I am having to be strategic with this. So it's like, I didn't even think.

About that because in a house you have, you know, the sec. I mean, you could store it in the basement. It's also like, I feel like you get like a big piece that has all of your, like.

For a special occasion, you know, like the extra sets and things and.

Oh my God, we were all feening like we were all feeding so bad for like an ice and a latte and I think kit Kit extended her stay one day to, like, her boyfriend came. And I saw that she found a place that had, like, an I smell latte. But, like, oh, my God, I was craving. Everywhere we went, I'd be like, do you have vanilla? And they're like, no.

[Brooke]

Like, these Americans, they want sugar, vanilla, extra vanilla. Seriously.

[Danielle]

So that was just, like, making me go crazy. It was just like, none of the even, like, the hot coffee, it just wasn't hitting. Like. And a lot of places I don't. Like, I don't remember this. But also when I last time I went to Paris and Italy, like, I was literally 13 years old. So I don't even know if I was drinking coffee back then. Actually, I don't think I was. So I, like, don't remember. But, like, I feel like in Greece, we had pretty good coffee.

[Brooke]

Like, I remember they have the Fredo cappuccino. Yeah, I don't know if that's a thing everywhere.

[Danielle]

No, but I'm so sorry, but, like, everywhere we went for the coffee, it was like espresso. They just like, make, like, a water. It was like an Americano.

[Brooke]

Oh. In Italy, I was doing cappuccinos, but I, like.

[Danielle]

So how did they say in Italy?

[Brooke]

It was great, but only cap, no ice. Like, it was like a hot cappuccino in. And you couldn't. Can't even do a takeaway. You gotta sit there and drink it.

[Danielle]

Yeah.

[Brooke]

And I'm like, oh, my God. I didn't account for this in the time today. Like, I woke up early and I, like, was like, oh, I'll run and get the coffees for everybody. I was like, oh, I gotta sit here and drink it. And my brother woke up one day, he wanted a coffee. He literally pounded it. Like, had to instantly, like, you know, because it's, like, goes through here.

[Danielle]

Like, I think I remember you telling me you had to, like, account for this and, like, go sit at the cafe, drink your coffee. Because you love to get up and have your coffee and go to the bathroom. I feel like, totally, no.

[Brooke]

And it's very much so. Like, a leisurely thing. And, like, everybody else, like, is just in no hurry. Like, life is good. And I'm like, I got a tour to make in five minutes, guys. Like, come on, let's just step on it. Yeah.

[Danielle]

Like, come on. I don't have time to enjoy my morning.

[Brooke]

Like, I know, like, don't you guys have places to go? But no, they. They don't. It's just the New Yorker in us. It's like, truly. Go, go, go.

[Danielle]

Yeah, they're so just.

[Brooke]

Were they relaxed?

[Danielle]

They're so relaxed. I felt. I really did feel bad because I don't know a lick of French, I realized. And, like, I hated it because I feel like we go to Cabo every year and, like, we all know, like, a good bit of Spanish, so I feel, like, respect. I just felt, like, so disrespectful not knowing anything, but, like, they were really accommodating and everything. I just felt really bad, dude.

[Brooke]

Did a significant number of people on the trip speak French?

[Danielle]

Well? Emma J. Speaks fluent French, so it was amazing. Like, when we were, like, had free time, she would just. Oh, my God, it was beautiful listening to the things.

[Brooke]

Wow.

[Danielle]

Oh, my gosh. But. And Lauren Wolf, I. I mean, she doesn't know French, but, like, she knew all the right phrases, you know, like, the thank you very much is. And then this is beautiful. Like, she knew.

[Brooke]

Did she. What did she say? What she prepared with, like an app or.

[Danielle]

No, I think she just travels a lot.

[Brooke]

Oh, she does travel a lot. She's very much like, travel blogger girly.

[Danielle]

I feel like, definitely travel blogger girly. Like, she. The devil works hard, but Lauren Wolf works harder. I've, like, said this once. I'll say it again. I'm. And I was talking to her about it. She's like, I feel like I'm not. Like, I feel like I'm so chill. Like, I just, like, make content when I feel, which I think is true, but her brain is just wired. Like, I mean, at all points, like, people would go to her and be like, lauren, what type of tick tock should I make right now?

[Brooke]

Like, it was literally the content. I need that person in my life, though. I need that.

[Danielle]

No, it was perfect. Like, like, at one point I was like. And she was like, here, use this sound. I was like, oh, my God, thank you. Like, I didn't even think of that one thing. That's so funny. Which we know because we do trips together. I. A lot or like, with a few other influencers. I forget. Like, I was on a brand trip with, like, the primo Primo of the photos. You know what I mean? I. Yes, I. I was told by Lorne Wolf that I'm chill, like, for taking photos. Like, she was like, she would take that. She was always like, danielle, let me help you with your photos. Like, thank you so much. Whatever. I would take. Like, I feel like a.

[Brooke]

Like, you know, let's get a number.

[Danielle]

Like, I'm standing there for probably 30 seconds and she's snapping away.

[Brooke]

Executive snapping.

[Danielle]

Yeah. Like, I'm probably 30 seconds. And she was like, that's it? That's all you want? And I was. And obviously, of course, we all want more, but like, you're on time crunches and we all want to.

[Brooke]

Yeah, there's 10 of us. How we got all rotated spot. Yeah.

[Danielle]

I think that's why on some of these branches they allow you to bring a plus one so that you don't have to worry about.

[Brooke]

It's a designated photographer. And it's like. Then it's like, you know, you can't.

[Danielle]

Yeah, yeah, it's a desert. So she was like, wow, like, let me know. I will take more for you. And. And you know what? It was really nice because they all, like, definitely, like, you know, like, their photos too. And like, it's just. I was inspired, truly. I just like, I. They are so successful for a reason because they just, like, know their, like, Kit and Lauren, literally, after one of the activities, drove like 30 minutes in traffic before dinner to get like, these amazing photos in front of the Eiffel Tower. And like, that's just dedication and it's awesome. And they really, like, they were working. It was.

[Brooke]

They were. It's a work trip.

[Danielle]

It's a work trip.

[Brooke]

No, but that actually is so, like, I feel like. I mean, I could definitely say, like, there's definitely trips when I like to do the bare minimum. You know, I've definitely been there. And then there's times when I feel like I'm like, you know, let's.

[Danielle]

No, let's get to work.

[Brooke]

Like, let's go out of our way to get, you know, the more scenic backdrop, which to some people might sound superficial or whatever. It's like, oh, my gosh. It's inauthentic. It's like, no, that's literally the job, though. That's job to sell the shoes and to make the content look beautiful and like, what is that word? Aspirational, you know?

[Danielle]

Yes, the aspirational content.

[Brooke]

It's literally the Pinterest content that, you know, I'm pinning so seriously.

[Danielle]

And they're just so nice. Like, they're just. They were just so kind. And I got. I want to shout out Remy Bader because I have never traveled with her. She kind of reminds me of you in the sense that, like, I don't know if you both grew up in New York, whatever, but just like, funny things happen to you guys and okay, react to them are very similar. Like, oh, my God. Though we got both of us got some mean dms because we. On the flight back, we were sitting next to each other and we're boarding the fight, and just, like, her suitcase wasn't shutting. And it was, you know, because everyone is, like, waiting behind you, and you're so.

[Brooke]

Oh, yeah.

[Danielle]

But in that moment, Remy goes, film me, film me. This would be really funny. So I'm filming her. I'm dying, laughing, because then. And then she's just, like, throwing it up and, like, trying to shut it. And then she feels. I'm sitting. She spills water all over her. This is all before we take off. So I'm filming her because she asked me. Yeah, yeah, it was funny. And I'm like, literally, I'm peeing my pants. Loving. Because it was just. And then she spilled water all over this book all about how to organize your.

[Brooke]

I did see that book. I was like, did you actually read it? That was.

[Danielle]

I never saw her read it on the flight.

[Brooke]

But that is a commitment to travel with that book.

[Danielle]

Like, workbook.

[Brooke]

It's a work trip.

[Danielle]

It was a. No, but, like, it was a big work. I don't know.

[Brooke]

Like, pens. I know what you mean.

[Danielle]

It looked like that. It looked like.

[Brooke]

I thought you had a workbook. Like, she was.

[Danielle]

No, no, no.

[Brooke]

Like, a workbook. Like, wow. She went and, like, was like, it's personal development. Like, she.

[Danielle]

Yeah, to work on her.

[Brooke]

Yeah.

[Danielle]

And it, like, remind me of, like, workbooks when we were younger in school. I don't know. But it was just funny that the water then spills on her workbook, and then her fangirl by Remy falls and, like, falls everywhere. And she. She really uses that fan, I have to say.

[Brooke]

Really.

[Danielle]

She, like, she's. What we were saying. Like, thank God, like, this is a brand that you own. Because, like, seriously, she was using that thing the whole trip.

[Brooke]

Wow, that's really cool.

[Danielle]

It was me, amazing. But I got. I started getting DMs, and so did she, saying, like. Like, her DMs were. I'm so sorry. Your friend was, like, filming you and laughing at you instead of helping. And I'm getting dms. Like, Danielle, like, it doesn't look like Remy really wanted this photo. Like, it looks like, that's so mean of you to laugh. Which, honestly, I could see from the outside. But, like, little did they know Remy. And then Remy text me. She was like, by the way, like, I'm sure you're getting dms, too. I thought it was funny. I told you to film it. Yeah, yeah, but, God, that Girl, just everything. Like, we came out of the restaurant one night, and there's, like, this paparazzi guy, like, shooting photos. Yeah, it was the funniest. Like, things just.

[Brooke]

Or, like, just a random guy. Like, what do you know?

[Danielle]

Like, she didn't hire, like, this random guy, but I think it was, like, one of those tour. Like, I think it was a tourist trap where it's like, oh, here, now I'll send them to you. Pay me. Like, he wasn't, like, a real paparazzi, but it was just, like, only her. Like, we were all, like, still getting our codes from coat check, and we go outside, and Remy's like, oh, my God, stop. Like, she literally was like, stop taking photos.

[Brooke]

That's really funny. It's good to embrace humor on these sort of things. So you, like. You love Paris now. You love.

[Danielle]

It was beautiful, Betty. It was beautiful. It is just amazing. It was so fun being there, too. Like, a little bit older and, like, the fashion. Like, everyone's just so gorgeous. And they really had a great itinerary for us. We went to Sabrina Carpenter one night, which was really fun, and she, like, did some of her new songs, which was fun.

[Brooke]

Oh, that's fun.

[Danielle]

The night that we went, because everyone always looks for her, like, Juno position. She literally just did, like, a kiss.

[Brooke]

So a French kiss.

[Danielle]

She just went like this.

[Brooke]

I saw that. She did the Eiffel Tower another night.

[Danielle]

The next night, we're like, that's. Oh, my God. Did you see Lauren's TikTok about the influence?

[Brooke]

Yeah. Who is that? So there's a famous French influencer.

[Danielle]

That Lena situation. I think I have never seen this in my life. I mean, all of a sudden, the whole, like, think of Madison Square Garden. Everyone in Madison Square Garden is looking up at one person, like, waving at them, freaking out when she'd wave back.

[Brooke]

Like, in a suite where she was.

[Danielle]

In, like, right in front of, like, a box. Yeah, that kind of vibe. But, like, she's. I was shook. They said, like. And some of the girls around us were like, she's like our Emma Chamberlain. And I'm thinking, even if Emma Chamberlain was at msg, I don't know if.

[Brooke]

It would stop everything. And, yeah, I mean, like, people would definitely be like, oh, my God. But, yeah, if it would. Like, literally everyone would just turn and be like, there she is.

[Danielle]

Yeah, seriously, like, it was. It was really special. And I think also because they probably don't have as many, like, of these. Huge influence.

[Brooke]

Yeah. I mean, I'm sure.

[Danielle]

I feel like there's so many French influencers. But, like, it was the wildest thing. Go watch Lauren Wolf's TikTok if you guys haven't already.

[Brooke]

I thought blew up.

[Danielle]

Blew up. We were all like, who is this?

[Brooke]

I know, I know. And some of the comments, like, you don't know who that is. It just goes to show how, like, hyper localized sometimes. Like.

Yep.

Are Definitely.

Totally. No, definitely. So overall, yeah, the group dynamic, like.

[Brooke]

I feel like when it's smaller like that, I. It seems like it's easier to do things as it all together, I guess.

[Danielle]

Yeah.

[Brooke]

Even though I feel like 10 is still kind of a lot, you know, if it's.

[Danielle]

Yeah. Everyone was really inclusive.

[Brooke]

That's nice. Not that I've had any doubts about you. Like, I feel like there's been some trips where we sign up for. We're like, we're gonna have to stick together on, you know, and whatever. And I feel like you knew going into this one, you're like, I'm in good hands. Like that.

[Danielle]

Yeah.

[Brooke]

Great group.

[Danielle]

Yeah. They did, like, name place cards on, like, the first night of dinner. And then after that, it was kind of like, see yourself. There wasn't really any drama, but that's good.

[Brooke]

I mean, it's a work trip.

[Danielle]

No, I know.

[Brooke]

No, I know.

[Danielle]

When you see the roster, you might think, oh, there was drama. I. I mean, I feel like I told you something like, that wasn't really drama. It was just some people didn't. Yeah.

[Brooke]

Some people might not hang out if it wasn't for the work trip.

[Danielle]

Yes. That. It was definitely like. Some people definitely wouldn't have hung out if it wasn't for this trip, I'd say.

[Brooke]

But it ended up that everybody was able to be agreeable.

[Danielle]

Yes.

[Brooke]

Mature and.

[Danielle]

And, yeah, definitely be mature. And everyone was nice to each other. And, you know, it was definitely like an interesting. It's like, all right, here we go. Let's do this. Because. Yeah. So. But that always creates a little buzz, right? You know, always creates a little buzz for the brand. But no, it. It was really fun. I felt really grateful to be there. And that's that on that shoe.

[Brooke]

Girl, how did you transport all the shoes home in your suitcase?

[Danielle]

Oh, my God. God bless them. Because, yeah, we got there and they had all these shoes laid out for us with, like, each day. And. Yeah, where would. When they brought us boxes on the last day and they are shipping the shoes back to us. Thank God. Because all the shoes that I wore were so comfortable. And I was like, I'm not leaving these in France.

[Brooke]

Yeah.

[Danielle]

I need.

[Brooke]

They're amazing shoes. Yeah.

[Danielle]

So, yeah, I think that's like, really the recap. It was so fun. It just. I hadn't been on like a big brand trip like that in a while, so know, maybe Brooke and I can go on the next CSO trip. That would be wonderful.

Yeah.

I want to go to Japan for sure.

That would be really, really fun.

Like. Yeah, I just kind of need that. And I feel like we could totally use like Remy and Alicia as the blue and they help us. They always do fun trips to Asia.

There's definitely, like itineraries on the Internet. I feel like that you could pretty much copy, like, and. Yeah, an amazing time.

So Beaches beach is a brand.

It's one company and they have different resorts.

And Beaches is like the family resort. So you go with your kids owned by Sandals. Yes, same, like mega. Like big company. These. It is enormous. I didn't really realize. I thought that it was, you know, and it is. They have individual resorts. Basically, under the Sandals, I'm Cinderella. And I grew up seeing the commercials for it. It was always like, you know, like a beautiful couple, like running into the distance. And that's basically what it is. It's the. The duality of the Sandals is. It's couples that are on their honeymoon.

[Danielle]

Okay.

[Brooke]

Or like a big anniversary trip.

[Danielle]

Yeah.

[Brooke]

And retirees. That's the two subsectors.

[Danielle]

Retiree couples.

[Brooke]

Couples mostly. I don't think I saw anybody. Actually. No, maybe I saw. I saw parents with their adult children.

[Danielle]

Oh, okay.

[Brooke]

But not really, like groups of friends that at least ask.

[Danielle]

Like a girls trip.

[Brooke]

It's very couples oriented. I don't. I'm gonna be honest. I don't know if I would feel comfortable going there if I wasn't, you know, because it's. It's. Every activity is geared towards two it's everything needs massage.

[Danielle]

That looks beautiful.

[Brooke]

So beautiful. No, to do the, the couple's massage, like outside, like that. They told us the spa attendant actually like the first day when we got there, they like come up to you, you know, with a clipboard. I love. It's literally like giving camp. Like, you know when it's like, welcome, here's your check in. Activities. What? Like they would come up to us. We had a room with a butler. So the butler every day would be like. They would come and visit us at dinner because they knew where our dinner reservation was. And they would like be like, okay, so what are you doing tomorrow? And we were like, oh, we want to like, you know, be by this pool or whatever. And they're like, okay, like I'll set up like whatever. Like you'll be this cooler number. And then they said, what do you want in your cooler? You guys might think I'm crazy. Like I legit didn't drink the whole time I was there. I had one pina colada. Was it?

[Danielle]

Well, cuz also like when it's just like you and your partner, it's not like you're trying to socialize with all these people.

[Brooke]

No, no. And even at dinners and stuff, like, I don't know, I just, you guys know, I'm not like in my drinking. Like I just not. And I'm not saying that to be on my high horse or to be anything like that. I just am not.

[Danielle]

We wanted to relax too. You didn't want to feel shitty the next morning. You wanted to get good sleep. Like that makes sense.

[Brooke]

Very restorative. I know. I feel like I say that to people though, and they're like, oh my gosh, you're going to go somewhere like that and like not have a margarita or something, you know, I'm just like, well, I ate my body weight and all the other food. Don't worry.

[Danielle]

Ye. Don't you agree?

[Brooke]

It's an all inclusive with many restaurant concepts. And you literally just show up to wherever you're going, say your room number and then like you get.

[Danielle]

So you didn't have to like reserve.

[Brooke]

And say no, the like nicer, like the steakhouse and like stuff like that. You have to like, you know, get your reservation. But so anyway, so the spa attendant comes up to us and she was like, okay, like book your massage, whatever. And we're like, okay, we'll do it the last day. She's like, I really wouldn't, really, would not recommend doing it the last day because you're going to be very red, very sunburnt. And we were like, oh. I'm like, no, no. Like we're very, very careful. Like, don't worry about it.

[Danielle]

Yeah. You like to sit in the shade.

[Brooke]

Not recommend that. Like, whatever. And then from that moment on, it was like our eyes were open. That was like within 10 minutes of being on the resort, literally everybody's roasted like a robster. Like, I swear I. I've never seen.

[Danielle]

They know.

[Brooke]

They know. No, they know. I was like, oh, wow.

[Danielle]

Must have been like. Oh, no.

[Brooke]

He was. We were. Were so religious about the sunscreen, Danielle and the shade and. But here I am. I'm self. I came home and self tanned yesterday. Like, I. I was gonna say you.

[Danielle]

Look like you have color.

[Brooke]

Yeah. I got like weird skin texture. I was like, I'm not letting that happen again.

No, not the eyes. I literally texted Brooke halfway through the trip. Are your eyes puffy yet?

Totally fine. I was reapplying sunscreen so so much, like, to a point that I was like, like, I like, the people around us probably think there's something wrong. Like, you know, because it was like that often that like every 30 minutes. Yeah. They were like, my God. Like, I can kind of feel some eyes on us, you know?

[Danielle]

Like really?

[Brooke]

Yeah. But meanwhile, like, they're like so red.

[Danielle]

You're like, you're the lobster. So. So did you ever sit without the umbrella or like under the umbrella?

[Brooke]

A little bit. I did go in the pool. I went to the swim up bar. That's when I got my pina colada.

[Danielle]

Oh, yeah, of course. You're.

That's not weekly. I love a swim up bar. That's so funny.

[Danielle]

Yeah. That's so fun. It's like an activity.

[Brooke]

It is an activity. It looked beautiful. Yeah. So just highly recommend. I mean, if you are wanting to do. A lot of people were saying honeymoon thought like thoughts on doing your honeymoon there? It's a very relaxing trip. That's just all I'll say about it. Like, it is if you. I feel like honeymoons, typically you do something like that, like resort. I mean. Yeah. From what I've seen and heard, like, I think, yeah, it's rare that it's like a crazy adventure, but just know that it's. It's a very relaxing, you know, it's.

[Danielle]

Not gonna like, there's no nightclub at night to, like, dance.

[Brooke]

Yeah. They have, like, live music and stuff. And like, there's bars that are openly. But it's not like, let's shut it down.

[Danielle]

Like. Yeah.

Like, at the end of the day, it is very like, you are, you know, on this.

[Danielle]

Yeah.

[Brooke]

On a resort. Beautiful like no other. Like, the pictures I was posting, I literally was like, I. You can't even articulate the beauty.

Like, no, it looks Mountains, everything.

[Brooke]

It's just.

Yeah, I could tell. And it looks like you'd. Great. We weather, like, beautiful. Sunny the whole time.

Oh, we actually. There was one part of the resort, they're like, if you get lucky, maybe you'll see it. This part of the resort is called Rainbow Valley. Like, where the rainbows, like, always perfectly land.

[Danielle]

Wow. Right there.

[Brooke]

I didn't even get to see it because it was sunny the whole time.

[Danielle]

Oh, right.

[Brooke]

Because that would have been cool. But that's okay. You know, I see plenty. Okay. So we made vacation friends.

[Danielle]

No way. Oh, my God.

It was really the. The first day on the boat in. Because we took the boat in. Like I said, this is like white.

[Danielle]

[Brooke]

Yes, yes. Now when I tell you vacation friends, once again, not in the way of being ageist or anything, but I just. I need you to. For context to understand that these people are like retirees. Like, you know what I mean? Okay. And these names are made up, but, like, so is this. This couple, Frank and Mary. So, okay. We're talking to them on the way in a little bit. You know, they're like, oh, you know, where you from? Whatever. New York. New York. So where they're from, he was wearing a shirt that said sandal. Like, it was a Sandals official shirt.

Oh, my God.

She had a Sandals official bag.

[Danielle]

Wow. Oh, my God.

[Brooke]

Actually, many of the people who rode the boat in with us, like, were wearing some sort of, like, sandals gear. They had a Sandals tag on their bag. You know, it was giving like, vacation club. But like, yeah, vacation club. And he was like, you know, oh, if you guys ever been to a Sandals before? And we're like, no, no. He's like, oh, okay. Like, this is our free week. It's our 12th visit. 12th visit. They. There are people who go to every single Sandals. I.

[Danielle]

How many are there?

[Brooke]

Like, a lot. There are a lot. Like, I want to say there's like 20 plus.

[Danielle]

20 plus. Wow.

[Brooke]

There are a lot of sandals. And this is. I want to say one of the newest. But, like, I. I mean, you have to go to all the free week. Yeah. Cash in our free week. I was like, as you should. I mean. Yeah.

So what's the free week like? Like, it's free, all inclusive.

[Brooke]

I think it's like a point system, you know, so it's kind of like you accrue points somewhere.

[Danielle]

Okay.

[Brooke]

Use it. Whatever they were then, like, our friends and. Well, not then. We, like, we wouldn't hang out with them every day, but we'd, like, see them, you know, because you, Frank and Big, we'd be like, what's up? You know? And then he was like. At one point, he's like. He, like. He's so nice. He's like, New York in the house. We became, like, friends, you know, when I cry.

I could imagine, like, an older man. Like, New York in the house. In the. His house.

[Brooke]

He, like, loved our lore, you know, he was really into it.

[Danielle]

Did he know what you do for a living?

[Brooke]

We. I mentioned it so briefly because, like, I was waiting for it. Not to be rude, but, like, you know, I was waiting for it to come up, like. And he didn't ask, like, are you on your honeymoon or anything? And, like, I feel like we kind of asked about them a little bit. And he was like, what do you do? I was like, oh, I have a podcast with whatever. Immediately change the subject. No question.

Yeah, no, I want to. So day two, we ran into him, like, New York in the house, whatever. Like, at the restaurant. He's like, are you guys having a good time? Like, yeah, such a good time. And he was like, where have you been eating? And there's, like, you know, a bunch of restaurant concepts, and I think they have them in every single sandals. You know what I mean? Like, they've got, like, the Butch's Steakhouse. I know.

[Danielle]

I just love how you say the concept.

[Brooke]

They literally are concepts, though. Like, I'm paying attention. Like, the lighting here, like, the lighting in each one is, like, different. It's like that. Yes. Oh, it's so. It's very much so. Like that. And he was like, oh, we were like, oh, we just went to the jerk shack. Like, Ben got, you know, lunch there. The jerk shack?

Is that what it's Called that feels weird.

[Brooke]

No, it is. But they have this, I guess, at every Sandals. I didn't know that. That's one of their concepts.

It's like, you know, jerk, chick, jerk, like fish. Like that, of course. But it's called. That's what it's called. Then he goes, I'll tell you a secret. He's like, well, I'm not sure if I should.

Yeah. And we were like, just say it. Like, I don't know. Like, it was like, I. Of course. You know me. I'm like, say it.

Yeah, you would. You were. Yeah. I'm like, it's safe with me and my friends, who are all my podcast listeners. And it's like. He was like, well, the best jerk shacket sandals you. He's like, it's. It's a hidden location. It's in Jamaica. It's at the. The Jamaica Royal Caribbean Sandals. That's what it's called. It's no affiliation to the cruise line. Then he's like, and it's actually. You gotta walk to get to it a little bit. And it's on the nude beach.

There's a nude beach as a part of the sandals.

And not every sandals, but this one. Yeah. There's a nude.

You have to tell. Isn't one of our friends going to that location? Oh, my God.

You have to tell her. And then I googling because I was like, did this guy make this? Like, you know, after we left him, I was like, did he make that up? And. And then Ben and I are, like, debating, like, we're like, would you be into a nude beach? Like, I don't know. Like, I don't even like the direction.

Would you go to a nude.

[Brooke]

No, I don't think I'd feel. I'm just, like, I have my insecurities. I'm not a perfect person.

I would not go to a new.

Not for other people. Honestly, for myself.

Maybe I would go to a nude beach if I was with. I wasn't even with anyone I knew.

No, I was like, this is wild. I will say with Sandals, it's really cool because the activities are included. I'm not, you guys know, I'm a land lover. I'm not a very aquatic girl, but, like, if you do snorkeling or any of that sort of stuff, which that really, like, adds up. On vacations, Ben goes scuba diving. So expensive and, like, just niche and, like, hard to, like, coordinate at other Sandals Daily dives. They go.

Daily dive.

[Brooke]

Daily dives. They take the boat out every day and go for a dive. And he meets. He told me. I was like, how was your scuba trip? You know, he got back and whatever. And I was like, you know, what's the crowd like? And he was like, everybody was, you know, retired. Like, you know, whatever. He was like, there's a big, big group of men who are, like, in their 60s and 70s. 70s, and they are coming every day of their trip, and they actually go from Sandals Resort to Sandals Resort once a year. They go. They, like, met, because they all have an interest in diving, and they bring their significant others. Like, they were.

[Danielle]

Oh, okay. Yeah.

[Brooke]

And they daily dives. They go on the day and they.

[Danielle]

Go to the jerk shack after. Not on the nude beach, though.

[Brooke]

There's no. No nude beach. But in the sandals St. Vincent. Let me be clear.

And I'm expect lovely couples, like, honeymooning that, like, I was like, I want to be their friend, but I don't know how much to bother them. You know, that kind of energy where I'm like, no. Like, I like talking to you guys. Like, do you want to be my friend?

Yeah. Like, no. Like, are we friends or not? Like, being polite right now. Yeah, I know what you mean. Oh, and then that influencer was there.

It was the weirdest thing, Danielle, I swear. I was on my phone and I saw that she had posted, like, arriving at Sandals St. Vincent. I follow her. She's like a fashion girly, cutest outfit.

Like, very, like, relatable fat. Like, I feel like just, like, easy stuff.

[Brooke]

Yes. Really great stuff.

And she's just so beautiful and so cute.

Whatever. Like, I just feel like she's very happy.

Exactly. Wow. Hyped her up a ton. Yeah. She deserves it. And I was like, on my phone, I saw that she posted, like, arriving at Sandal St. Vincent, I, like, was sitting at lunch with Ben. I flipped the phone around. I was like, oh, my God, this info is here. Like, that's how crazy. And I was like, well, you know, it's a pretty small resort. Like, I'm sure we'll see. I'm like, it's big, but it's also small. Like, I know. We, like, had a new character unlocked. Like, we saw them everywhere.

[Danielle]

The character.

[Brooke]

No, seriously. So I showed him that, and then maybe 10 minutes later, a young man comes and sits next to me, like, at the table next to me. And I, like, I had a feeling.

[Danielle]

You're like, he looks young and, like, he.

[Brooke]

Yeah, he was alone, but it was giving. Like, waiting for someone else.

[Danielle]

Yeah.

[Brooke]

I was like, huh. I don't know. But, like, then he's overhearing, Like, Ben and I are, like, having a debate over here. I was like, of course. He's hearing, like, this conversation.

[Danielle]

Yeah.

[Brooke]

Like, we were like, oh, we need to change, like, the travel plan. Like, whatever. We was having, like, a. A con.

[Danielle]

Planning your schedule, and, Yes.

[Brooke]

A very executive conversation, I feel like. And then, of course, what happens, you know, Vivian Audi comes and sits next to this guy. And I was like, oh, my God. I literally. And then I looked at Ben. I was like, like, you know who that is? And he's like, yes.

[Danielle]

That'S crazy.

[Brooke]

And then I was freaking out. I was like, should I say something? He was like, brooke, you always say you. Like when people say things to you in the beginning of the meal versus afterwards. If it's someone that's, like, sitting well, I say hi, number one. But then, yes.

[Danielle]

He's like, it's preferred in the beginning. So then, you know, like, it's just more approachable, too.

[Brooke]

Yeah, it's like, you know, don't say hi at the very end when they're walking, like, it's kind of rude, almost like.

[Danielle]

Yeah.

[Brooke]

Oh, like, by the way, hi. Like, I don't know. You're right there. Exactly. And I was like, I'm gonna be brave and say something.

[Danielle]

Be brave.

[Brooke]

And she literally was lovely and so, so nice. And I was like, I'm sorry you had to overhear our business conversation. And he was like, I literally heard nothing. Yeah.

[Danielle]

He's like, I wasn't.

[Brooke]

You know, when you're so in your own head, you're like, he heard everything.

[Danielle]

I know.

[Brooke]

The judge talk about usually.

[Danielle]

Yeah.

[Brooke]

Like, me in my own head. But I feel like I had one more thing maybe about the sandals.

[Danielle]

I'm like, you're really random.

[Brooke]

I just. It's just a great trip. I will say, like, you know, once again, honeymoons, a lot of people just do a lot of Sandals, like, because I could see how it's a familiar format. You know, you're like.

[Danielle]

Yeah.

[Brooke]

Once you're like on property, you don't have to leave. It's very safe.

[Danielle]

Love that.

[Brooke]

But you still get to like experience the place in terms of like, yes.

[Danielle]

Beach and the beauty of the island.

[Brooke]

Yeah. And it's like you do as much or as little as you want. Really. Like that's the thing.

[Danielle]

Yeah.

[Brooke]

But it's like, you know, if you want to be doing every single activity you can.

[Danielle]

Did you, did you do any activities? No, I would do any.

[Brooke]

Yeah. I just laid. We went to dinner every night. Of course, you know, they have room service. Different types of rooms too. I was saying it would be really fun. You will. We've tried to plan this originally, but we're going to try to make this work.

[Danielle]

No, I'm going to scoop up that email again. I had it from like when they emailed us like last year. Right.

[Brooke]

It was literally like two or three years.

[Danielle]

Yeah.

[Brooke]

I planned this trip so far in advance. You're like, I look, I have a date that I can do.

[Danielle]

That's what's. Yeah. But yeah, I'd love to go back.

[Brooke]

With couples it would be fun to do, like you, me, Katie and like significant others. Cuz then it kind of like if people want to do activities, there's more sort of like give them the option too. Would you go like, do you like any water activities like that?

[Danielle]

No, No, I will not go scuba diving. I mean, I go diving.

[Brooke]

Like I'm snorkeling.

[Danielle]

No.

[Brooke]

Oh, you wouldn't even do that.

[Danielle]

Same reason I can't put my face in a bowl of water. I don't. I feel very claustrophobic and I'm not clos. Oh my God, I hate it. Would you scoop?

[Brooke]

No, no, absolutely not. I don't. The ocean freaks me out.

[Danielle]

Same. Yeah, I will get in at the beach. You've barely even.

[Brooke]

I, I didn't go in.

[Danielle]

But like, I love, I mean, a boat day. I love a boat day. What other activities were there even?

[Brooke]

There's a lot. I feel like there's like fitness classes and stuff. I didn't work out on the trip. I said I'm not doing that.

[Danielle]

No, that's not that kind of trip.

[Brooke]

I, we, we rode bikes around the resort though. It wasn't that big. Like, you don't need to. But I like, if you're like, I want to get. I'll be there in two minutes flat.

[Danielle]

Like, you know, take two minutes flat. I'M in route. I liked seeing you get your coffee.

[Brooke]

Oh, yeah, they've great. Like, it's like, nice. Like, it's like a coffee shop. Ice cream shop.

[Danielle]

You don't have to pay.

[Brooke]

You literally just walk in and get it. Oh, and it's no tipping. Like, which is nice. And it's a true no tipping policy.

[Danielle]

Except, like, you felt comfortable being like, okay, they're getting tipped.

[Brooke]

Because I feel like a lot of all inclusives, you feel, like, the pressure to, like, have cash on you and be, you know me. I'm like, got a coffee? I have to give them $3.

[Danielle]

Yeah. So then it doesn't feel inclusive. No, because you're so stressed about.

[Brooke]

Exactly. No, this was very much so. Like, and you tip your, like, butler person at the end.

[Danielle]

At the end.

[Brooke]

Yeah. Yep. So.

So you didn't have to tip at dinner. Like, you confirmed that.

[Brooke]

They confirmed.

[Danielle]

See, I went to one all inclusive, and it was like we were getting mixed messages. So then we were just tipping and everything. And then it just was stressful, which is fine. But, like, if you're really gonna do it, it's nice to know, like, okay, they're being taken care of in the back end. Perfect.

[Brooke]

We asked Frank when we got it. I'm.

[Danielle]

Oh.

[Brooke]

We asked our. From our couple.

[Danielle]

Frank knew. Oh, my God. He was probably the encyclopedia of sandals.

[Brooke]

Oh. I was like, look, you got to tell me everything, you know? And he was like, okay, I got you. No worries. Oh, yeah. And then we started talking about how, like, Ben doesn't really like boats and whatever and, like, that they were giving us, like, I don't even want to say tips. It's like a couple.

[Danielle]

They were like, oh.

[Brooke]

They were like, oh, no. Like. Cuz they were telling us about vacations that they've done, like, oh, you know, cruises, whatever. He can't really do. That's fine. Then you'll just do all inclusives. I was like, oh, wow. We're just planning our.

[Danielle]

Hey, you don't need to do the cruises. You just do the On CLU resort. That's your thing.

[Brooke]

We did. We sat across from. My final story. We sat across from a British couple at a dinner. Okay. It's a cool concept.

[Danielle]

It's a take a shot every time Brook says concept.

[Brooke]

It's their shared dining concept.

[Danielle]

Okay, so like, Hibachi, how you're, like, all at the same time?

[Brooke]

No. Well, yeah, you're all at the same table, but it's like, you know, family style. Like, you're truly, like, sharing the food. With these.

[Danielle]

Oh, how did you like that?

[Brooke]

I. I wasn't sure how I would feel about it, but it was like, you know, there's eight pitas, like, and everybody gets one. Like it was, it wasn't like, you know, I'm eating out of the bull.

[Danielle]

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, here, take your. But yeah, yeah.

[Brooke]

And we did that the first night kind of intentionally because we're like, if we meet people, like, I don't know, maybe we'll see them around. They'll be our resort friends. We sat across from this brilliant couple, the Sandals. Way from the uk. Yeah. And they were just lovely. We were talking. It's so funny. Work didn't come up once. Their job, it's just so funny.

[Danielle]

Like I feel everyone just chill.

[Brooke]

Just, well, yeah, vacation. But then also just I feel like.

[Danielle]

Oh, cuz European from the uk.

[Brooke]

Like, I feel like they don't lead with. So what do you do? Like it didn't feel very like, yeah.

[Danielle]

They'Re just like, who are you as a person?

[Brooke]

Yeah. And like, where are you from? Oh, fun. First time at Sandals. Like, it's more like that energy, you.

[Danielle]

Know, selling me Brooke.

[Brooke]

And then at one point he, the guy goes, he's like, he looks at me and he has like a puzzle old expression. He's like, let me see your left hand. And I held it up and I, I go, I don't know why my brain went into. Well, I mean, you know, it's your left hand, whatever.

[Danielle]

And yeah, you're thinking like your ring.

[Brooke]

I was like, oh, no, no, we're not engaged or anything. This isn't like our honeymoon or anything. We're not engaged. And like, I don't know, because you.

[Danielle]

Just thought that's what I would think too.

[Brooke]

I don't know why I went into this whole, oh, like literally like a minute long speech. He was like, I just wanted to see what type of jewelry piece you have on. It's very interesting.

[Danielle]

Anyone like, oh, you just wanted to see my hand chain and I just gave you a minute speech. Oh my God, I would die. But I would have done the same.

[Brooke]

I was like, I don't know, ever decides to propose. I mean like, just wanted to see.

[Danielle]

Your hand chain love.

[Brooke]

I just have never seen anything like that. You know, I'm doing such a bodge accident. My God, that's classic hand chain. And then Ben's like, it's not real or anything. I mean like six box.

[Danielle]

Like I'm just like word vomiting.

[Brooke]

I don't know why we felt a need to, like, over explain it so much. I was like, no, it's literally just a. But it's. I just thought it was so funny that they were admiring the hand chain so much here. The hand chains are. People hate a hand chain here.

Yeah, people are coming for the hand chain. Means you're boring, actually.

[Brooke]

I know. No, it's.

I was like, you guys should bring hand chains back to where you're from.
