A
Hey guys, what's up? Welcome back to Gals on the Go podcast.
B
It's Brooke and Danielle and we're hoping that you're all having a fabulous Wednesday or whatever the day of the week. You're listening to Fabulous.
A
Yeah, A great start to the great.
B
Start to the day.
A
Week, whatever.
B
I literally had a moment today where I didn't even know what month it was like. It was one of those days. It's just January is January, but I think February is worse than January actually.
A
Really? Yeah, it's a little shorter for me, so I feel like power through it. I'm like, oh, we're already halfway done. You're right.
B
And we're like traveling most of February, so it'll. It'll go by and yeah, maybe in a fly.
A
A fly that's goodbye and fly. That's what I'm convincing myself too. And I feel like January is also like, what day is it? Like, you know, kind of like, oh, it's. You could tell me right now it's, you know, January 3rd. You could also tell me it's January 20th. I wouldn't know the difference. Like, it would, if you know what I'm saying.
B
I completely agree. Honestly. No, it's definitely that time of the year, but it's also a really good time of the year, as we talked about last week, to. To winter and to hibernate and to really enjoy the luxuries of your own space and just those things that you do in your life that just make you happy and, like, those little luxuries, if you will.
A
Little luxuries. I love that. I feel like we're both big on big luxury. Yeah, Big luxury, but also little luxury. I feel like we are, truly. Well, you really are, like.
B
No, we, we.
A
I know, but you're so romanticize your life energy. So I feel like that is, like, really the epitome, like, enjoying, like, things. But I guess, like.
B
Oh, you too. Like, you love a robe, you love a slowdown.
A
I do.
B
This is the perfect episode for the gals. Like, we were talking about how, like, I feel like, I feel like you, too, probably during, like, when we're home more and it's just a little bit more chill, you learn to lean into, you know, your morning routines, your night routines are not even routines. Like, we're talking, like, just those little things.
A
Yes. Just bits of your day, almost.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah. It doesn't have to be something that is a routine or even part of it. Like, it could be something to, like, spice it up.
B
Yeah.
A
Like, it's something you do to. Yeah. With things that you may already have or slight upgrades to your life. I guess we tried to, you know, not big ticket items.
B
No. Yeah. Yeah. So we're going to be talking about today. Little luxuries in our life that we love so much that we recommend. I'm excited to hear yours. Like, I think it's just a fun. Let's romanticize the day a little. Let's just enjoy the day and attack RIP Dogs. Like, next season. We'll get them.
A
I know, I know. It's okay.
B
Yeah. But. Yeah. So a lot of the things we're talking about might be tangible or other things are, like, little things we do in our day to just, you know, just those going the extra mile. How about that? It's like going the extra mile. Nothing here is, like, super crazy pricey. It's like these little, like, it could be an Amazon purchase. It could be whatever it is just to make your lives better.
A
I feel like for me, this could be not true for everybody, but, like, I have a little bit More time right now. I'm sure. You too.
B
Same.
A
So for me, it's like investing that extra time until like, like my self care or like my, you know, doing the things that I've maybe put off for.
B
Yes. Like organization. Yes.
A
Like, yes, I know. Spring cleaning. No. How about January cleaning? Honestly?
B
Oh, spring is so busy.
A
Yeah. If things start to pick up and then it gets like, nice outside and you're like, you want to be. You want to be out of the house? Like, you don't want to be, you know.
B
No.
A
Cleaning. Like, no, certainly not.
B
You're so right. Like, we need to rebrand spring cleaning as winter cleaning. Like post holiday cleaning. Because I feel like a lot of people do that already.
A
I. So I got my storage unit. I did this week.
B
Congratulations.
A
Thank you. I'm a proud renter.
B
And is it close by or is it in your building?
A
You could get it in my building. Like you have to buy it in my building.
B
And we know that's expensive.
A
You have to get out like a mortgage for the storage unit in the building. So I was like, you know, I'll be down the road at the cube. Smart.
B
Yeah. I think that's more economical.
A
It's. It works for me, actually. I haven't physically been there. Ben dropped off the stuff. I'm not going to lie. He was perked. And bugs.
B
You're like, bugs.
A
Sign me out.
B
Like, no. Yeah.
A
No, but we. I did the packing of the items, you know, like I ordered, like on Amazon, like the big Christmas tree bag and like the ornament organizers and like those things. Honestly, little luxuries.
B
The Christmas tree bag is a must because then you can kind of throw it anywhere. Not throw it, but like it's a.
A
Little bit more compact.
B
Yeah.
A
Plastic and stuff. I know. I really did the math here and like, I'm going to have to add more stuff to the storage unit to make it worth it. Because right now.
B
Yeah. I was going to say what's. What's in my storage unit.
A
The cost is not costing like the. Because really amount that I paid for the tree and the decorations that I'm storing there, like by the time I store it for 12 months, like, that's not.
B
It's not.
A
It's not of equal value.
B
How big are we talking?
A
So it's five by five by eight. And so that's. They say it's like a hall closet size, so.
B
Okay. Yeah, that's what I'm picturing. Like closet.
A
Yeah. So it could, you know, it could hold some more stuff. I'M thinking about maybe doing a wardrobe situate. Definitely. In the summer. I can throw my coats there. Yeah, that would be nice to free up the coat closet a little bit.
B
Some sweaters if you want.
A
I know. I just need to make sure I, you know, pack it right.
B
Oh, I know. Like, smell weird when you.
A
Yeah. And with the now knowing what's going on in there, like, I don't know, maybe.
B
No, I actually saw. She's literally one of my favorite influencers. Clearly. Abbey befo she just got a storage unit too. Like, I think it's the move. Are you gonna put suitcases in there or do you like.
A
No, because it's not gonna be like the type thing where it's like, oh, I'm going on a trip. I'm gonna run to the Cube. Smart. Like.
B
Okay. Yeah.
A
It's like more of a long term.
B
Than my annual visit.
A
Exactly. I don't. Yeah. If it was more convenient, maybe it would be like. If it was more like in the building or something like that. Yeah. Because I don't really need that much storage. But then it was like the littlest one, like, was just not enough space.
B
Like, you think one that's smaller?
A
It's like more of like a locker at that point.
B
Yeah, that. And what is the point of a locker?
A
I don't know.
B
Well, actually, I do know. Like, one of my friends, she, like, her office is a co working space. So her company has like a storage unit. And maybe it's like that size, like a little locker size for them. Because the co working space doesn't let you put stuff there. So maybe that's what. Because I'm like, who would use that? Yeah.
A
I feel like there's like corporate store. I mean, I know this for like staging of houses. Like, they'll put extra furniture and storage units and stuff, right?
B
Oh, yeah.
A
Like, if you do. Yeah. Or if you. Or if you just interior design, whatever it is. Like, I think it makes sense to kind of store some of like the corporate items there.
B
Definitely corporate. I have got your corporate items there.
A
Freeing up that space. Truly, that was next level for me. Yeah. So that's. That's what I did this week. Big, big things.
B
No, honestly, that's like the mood I'm in these days. Like, let's talk about storage units. Like, that's where I'm at. Like, I think it's just those little mundane things like my mom that I was on the phone, I was like, oh, I was gonna clean, but like, I got in my department to the per like, there was nothing to clean. I guess I could have organized. She was like, danielle, you're, like, obsessing a. You need to just relax now.
A
Yeah, I. Unless you want to try on every item in your closet. But that's. Yeah, you have to be in a mood for that, though, because that's like a whole day where I'm like. I'm looking at myself. I'm, you know, analyze.
B
No, you gotta have some self pan on. Like. No, the only. I actually did that semi recently for my pants. I, like, tried on all of my pants. Katie Bilotti did a whole video where she showed vulnerable.
A
I was like, she's the best with that. I. That is something that I go through alone. The lights are off. It's emotional. You don't want to be there. No.
B
The zipper isn't zipping. I'm gonna sob now. No, like, it is something else. So props to her for, like, open. Like, honestly, it was also just like, I was. How. I was like, how do I film this? Like, I'm in my underwear. Like, I just didn't know how to do that.
A
So you have to cut it at just the right time.
B
Cut it right?
A
Yeah.
B
Like an intimacy coordinator there. Like.
A
Like, get off screen quick. Yeah, hurry.
B
Got sag over here.
A
Like, that's really funny. I did get them. Also my content error. I got the back camera monitor.
B
Oh, yeah.
A
I didn't get on Tik Tok shop, though. I got it on Amazon.
B
Oh. I got mine on TikTok.
A
Oh, you have one too?
B
Yeah, I use it all the time.
A
I thought. See, I was like, I'm advanced. Like, I.
B
It's. Do you find though. It like, lags for 100 and you have to, like, wait there for a second to see it. Basically what she's saying. It's like a monitor. You said it. Exactly.
A
It's a. It's a screen that mirrors your iPhone screen.
B
The back screen. And so you can, like, really. Oh, I'm happy.
A
You could clip it off on your. I honestly didn't even have it clipped on. I had it, like, on my couch and I was just, like, looking down at it.
B
Yeah, same.
A
Yeah, you can clip it on the back of your phone.
B
I thought it was gonna be magnetic and it wasn't. I was sad. I thought it was really magazine.
A
Now everyone makes it look way cooler than it actually is.
B
It is helpful, though, for sure, to.
A
See if you're in because everyone says now you have to film with the back camera on your iPhones. Like, not the selfie camera. And it does. It is better quality.
B
So I need Apple to figure that out.
A
Like the front camera. Yeah, I know.
B
And I don't care if it's like, I don't care if it looks like this on the front. Like, you know, you see the lense on the back. Like, I don't need it to be a flush screen on the front.
A
I feel that way too. But I'm sure that there's others who dis, like, think about like a. A guy like, who like works in an office and like you, takes two photos a month. Like, you know, like, I don't need that. Need it.
B
I know we're such like a niche demographic, but to me, it's my whole world. I'm like, I need that.
A
Do you ever see on like Ryan's phone or your brother's phone or anybody's phone, like, they'll be like, oh, you know, take a picture. And then you. For some reason I go to recent photos and you see how many and you're like, oh my God, you have nothing on this phone.
B
Their camera roll is like a photo of something they got in the mail. Screenshot of like a sports stat and a photo of like, you. Yeah, like dinner.
A
Like the family photo you took on one vacation you took six months ago.
B
No, men's camera rolls need to be studied. Like, it's actually.
A
That's all you have on here.
B
That's all you have.
A
Like, didn't you like, take a picture of a sign you saw? Like, I feel like I just have so many like random photos that I'm like thinking packaging. So I'm like, oh, I like the packaging. Like, I don't know.
B
Photo, photo. No, we have probably 10 photos today already.
A
Like, and that's if I'm not even trying.
B
That's not a big day. That's a light day. No, it's actually. You're so right.
A
That's a really funny nothing there. I mean, get content creator. Not like, I feel like girls just like, take a lot of pictures. Like, you're just like, oh, let me. Oh my gosh. Like I stubbed my toe. Haha. Like, you know, picture my. Like, whatever.
B
I know you're on the side of TikTok. Someone was showing, like me showing like a picture of a dress on my camera. Rol, the next slide is a health scare. Like you with a pimple on your face, sending it to your doctor. It's so. I know that's your camera 100%.
A
When people just take my phone and start swiping, literally My.
B
Can you not.
A
My heart drops. Because it might. What if it's a picture of me trying on my pants, crying in the.
B
Dark, literally zipping up. No, seriously, I. When someone gives me their phone, this is a pet peeve. I'm sure you too.
A
Yeah.
B
If I give someone my phone to show them a photo, you're not swiping. You're not like, you can zoom. That's it. You're not going right or left.
A
I would like you to even ask permission to zoom. Honestly, I.
B
Permission to do. Granted.
A
What app? We don't know what app you're on, you know. Oh, you're on the right app. Like, I don't know. I hate to give someone a rogue phone and just say, yeah, look at this picture. And then like you can't see what they're doing.
B
I have a couple friends in my life. Like, granted, there is nothing on my camera roll that like they can't see. Like, especially if it's like a friend. I'm like, literally you could see my like weird photos. But I have a few friends that will grab my phone and they just start going through my camera cuz they think it's fun. They're like, oh my God, is this the new dress you got? Like, they're just there and I'm like, this is giving me so much anxiety. But you're like, yeah.
A
You're like, oh, you like that picture? Yeah.
B
Yeah. Wait, let me actually show you something.
A
Like looking for something better. Like if you like that one, I.
B
Wouldn'T do I selling for you. I'll just send it to you this time.
A
I do get that too. No, there's nothing that I'm like severely, severely hiding. It's just more so like I don't know what's coming up next.
B
Yeah, like you can prepare them. Yeah, it's like, I don't know because there's also like, you know, maybe a sweet photo of you and your boyfriend that you don't necessarily like, want them.
A
Yeah. Or a screenshot of my bank account. Like, I don't know, my tax forms. Like, I don't know.
B
Yeah, yeah.
A
No random stuff. Personal. The camera folder, that is.
B
Do you know Liz Woods?
A
Yeah.
B
She was talking about on her social media pages that every. She started the new year every year and like tries to keep doing it where like every day. So like whatever. Today is January, whatever. You go on that day on your photos and like delete anything from that day that you don't want from all the years. Like January 13th, you go and Delete any, like, old photos that, like, you don't need or, like, extra stuff. And so you do that every day. So eventually your camera rolls, like, nice and clean.
A
That's a really smart idea.
B
But also, icloud, I'll just buy more storage.
A
I think I might be at the max, honestly. Is there a Maximax? Oh, you don't you think you could just keep going up, up and up?
B
Infinity. I hope there's infinity.
A
Yeah, no, I. That is a really good method, though, because I definitely take a ton of videos that I don't delete, and it's like, me vlog videos, vlog videos, but then also just videos of me saying the same script of a product, like, 10 different times. I'm like, I don't need any of them.
B
Little. Oh, yeah, you know, that's so true. Like, no, I love this.
A
I love this. I love this so much.
B
Hey, guys. So. Hey, guys. So. No, you're so right. So it's definitely something to consider. And then along the way, you get to see some memories from those.
A
That's a. That's a good little system.
B
Like, we're all on our phones so much. Like, you can do that. But have I done it? No, not yet.
A
No, that. But that's, in theory, great idea. You know, if one were to maybe want to do something like that.
B
Yeah. I've seen a lot of things about screen time. Like, Clara has been talking about her screen time a lot. I'm like, oh, yeah, I would love to get that down.
A
Would love to get it down, but just not a priority of mine right now. Like, you know, right now.
B
I know. It's like, actually everything. Everything in life, I feel like I could do better right now.
A
Me too. Every very. It is the season of mediocrity.
B
Like, yeah, let's just be mediocre this year.
A
All elements. Yeah.
B
No, and honestly, like, going into 2024, I was really motivated. I was like, let's go. And going in 2025 was motivated. I was kind of like, let's just keep it. Let's maintain. Let's be mediocre this. I'm here for that. Like, let's just do what we can.
A
Be middle.
B
Yeah, let's be mid. Like, let's all be mid and enjoy it. And, like, if there's a good day, there's a good day.
A
Yeah.
B
With, like, a success.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah.
A
You know, honestly, we're all just trying to get by at this point. I know.
B
I just feel like that's where we're at today. So that's where we just need to be. But with being mid, we also can have the luxuries also.
A
100. I feel like that's what's getting us through. I feel like my parents did a really good job of teaching me like the value of money and kind of how to save money and how to earn money. And that is definitely something I'm not having kids for a second, guys, but like, that is something that I definitely want to pass on to my own kids and just kind of teach them money lessons early and kind of break the stigma in like talking about money. And that is why I'm so excited that we are working with Acorns and today's episode is sponsored by Acorns Early. Acorns early is a smart money app and debit card for kids that helps them learn the value of money. Acorns early lets parents pay allowances automatically so you don't have to rummage for cash. It automatically sends weekly allowances to to your kids account. With just a few taps, kids can spend what they earn with their very own debit card. I feel like this is such a great sense of independence and just teaches you kind of how to be empowered with money so you can get like real time notifications. You can set up your kids spending limits. You can instantly block if it's lost or stolen. I think this is just so great. It's going to help kids turn saving into a habit. The Acorns early app has tons of fun interactive courses too that are going to help kids learn about all things money. I feel like this is just something that my parents would have been all over. Like, I feel like it's like, you know, you get your kid like a starter, like cell phone. Why are we not doing this, like with money that is like such a huge part of life. And I feel like teaching them these lessons early is amazing. So if you're ready to help your kids learn the value of money, just head to acornserly.com gals or download the Acorns early app to get started. B
Yeah, we didn't do that last week, so we should definitely. We had so much to talk about last week. There was no time for like, favorite lip liner, you know, like.
A
Yeah, no, if you, if you guys haven't listened to last week's episode, that was a big ketchup.
B
Ketchup and mustard. You definitely need to go listen to that. It was cute. I. I'm sure you two got a lot of messages saying like, oh my gosh. I was wondering when I'd hear from you guys. I know it's been a minute one.
A
Ghost mode for a second.
B
Yeah. Weeks. So glad you guys missed it.
A
We're so mysterious.
B
So mysterious.
A
You never know where we're at.
B
I wish I was more mysterious. Like, there's certain creators that just like, you really don't know where they're at.
A
Or they like filmed a whole ass secret project and you're like, when like, like David went, yeah, I know.
B
That was to the max.
A
I. I was fully convinced that thumbnail was AI. I was like, we have to watch it. Just for that, he got us Insane. No, but it was true. Like, that was. I mean, you got spray tan, but that's fine.
B
Okay. I was wondering. I was like, so he definitely tanned.
A
But it's bodybuilders do.
B
Yeah, you're right. They get spray tan because you can see everything better.
A
Oh, totally. I was compelled and now I've just been seeing things for. Yeah, compelled to watch. I. Well, I was compelled to watch and then I was so inspired. I was like, I am going in the. I mean, like, have I been training like, him? No, but, you know, it got me to the gym. Like, I was like, I was motivated.
B
Yeah, definitely get up and go. Like, it's. It's really cool that. What was at the beginning of last year, he decided that.
A
Yeah.
B
Or ish. I didn't watch the full video. I honestly skipped to the end.
A
And then I went to like the fitness channel because they did like the 45 minute doc about it usually.
B
What's that friend's name? Isaac. Isaac. The guy. Azalea. Finish.
A
Ilya, maybe?
B
Ilya. Ilya. That's it. I think.
A
Yes. And on that channel, because I got like served as recommended content. It's like a 45. And I honestly skipped around because I wanted to see, like, when was the progress made. So basically, yeah, he could. And then he shredded, like, you know. Yeah, yeah, it was really impressive. But. But he said one quote that really stuck with me, which was like, sure, you should. Everybody, like, should do this for themselves at least one point in life to prove that you can do it. And I was like, wow, that's like, really.
B
That's really cute.
A
I know. And maybe not just fitness. Maybe like anything. I mean, we're talking about being mediocre.
B
But yeah, we kind of go all over the place on this podcast.
A
I'm inspired a little bit, but not, not, not enough to do that, but, you know, inspired a little bit.
B
I like that. You know, mediocre and inspired a little bit.
A
But like, I got it though. Like, that's like, I feel like when people run a marathon, they say the same thing. Right? Like, they're like, you know, it was the hardest, most grueling thing. But like, the fact that I did it, I can do anything.
B
It's really. No, I really like that quote a lot. Just like doing something like that. Just. Just to know you did it.
A
Just to know. It's more about that than like, I don't you think he's gonna stay that shredded for life? I mean, I don't know.
B
I don't know. I. I don't I don't know how that goes.
A
Yeah.
B
Because in my head, I'm like, once you, like, get to that, it's like, okay, you just need to maintain it a little. But I have no idea about anything for sure. I've never cut like that.
A
No, I don't think I've ever done a cut.
B
No, I've never done a cut.
A
I know I've tried to lose weight, but I've never been like, I gotta cut to this weight, like, and then I gotta shred, like, you know?
B
Yeah. This is like a guy. I mean, girls definitely do it too, but I always hear about, like, guys, like, I need to cut weight for sure. They can also lose weight so easily.
A
It's.
B
It's. Yeah.
A
And they have clear skin. It's just too much. It's just too much.
B
Mediocre year. So what are you loving this. This. This year? Honestly? Yeah. What are you loving this year so far, bro?
A
I am loving the Hero Cosmetics rescue bomb. Okay.
B
What is this?
A
It's been out forever. You've probably been sent into pr, like, from Hero Cosmetics. It's like they're. Besides the pimple patches, it's like their next most popular product. Oh, you've probably seen it. It's a green tube, which is like the color correcting one. And then just the regular one is. It's. It's in, like, a purpley kind of tube, but basically you're supposed to put it on popped pimples or like, skin to heal it.
B
Oh, that's what this one is. Yes.
A
The green one is the same thing, but with color correction. I don't really love color correction. I'm learning. I just don't think the green does much for me. Like, I don't think it gives me the spooks.
B
I'm like, I'm putting it just like.
A
It never lays, right.
B
Yeah.
A
Like, it. The texture.
B
I think you also just, like, know it's green. Like, even if you put makeup on over time. Like, I know there's green under here.
A
I feel like it works really well for some people. Like, if you have, like, rosacea or something. Like, if. But I don't know if red necessarily for act like. Right.
B
That's a different type. That's more.
A
Yes.
B
Single. Like, it's one area.
A
Yes. But this. So I was. Where was I? Oh, I went to, like, an event at the end of last. End of last year, and I ran into this girl. I want to give her a shout out because she's like a skinfluencer. And I. I have to be honest, sometimes the skinfluencer thing is really confusing to me, because how do you influence skincare products? Don't you just have a routine and stick to it? But I guess you're always trying new products. Like, it's kind of confusing, right? Yeah.
B
I'm like, how is your skin not going crazy?
A
But they have, like, a whole thing. But she is amazing, and I love her content. It's a hydration. CEO is her name. I met her on the way out. She was so nice, and I was, like, talking about my Accutane journey, and she was like, oh, my gosh. You know, I've never done it, but I, like, you know, kind of just giving me rex. And she was like, you know, hero cosmetics, like, they're bomb. And I was like, yeah, I really love it. She's like, you can get a big size of it on their website because it's in a really small tube and, like, use a lot of it. But the bigger size, it's only 30 bucks. Like, it's. So it's. I just use it as a moisturizer. And it is thick. It is repairing. It is so good under makeup.
B
It's spot treatment.
A
Like, that's what some people use it for. But in my case, my skin is so dry and, like, chapped and cracked and also healing because I also have, like, scars and stuff, so it's truly perfect.
B
Yeah, that's. I've. This is really cool.
A
Yeah.
B
So you use it instead of moisturizer or, like, before or, like, after?
A
Sometimes there's a bonus. Sometimes, like, like, fresh out it. Like, I'm taking a shower and, like, nighttime routine. Like, I'll do that, and then maybe, like, a cerave or, like, a van. A cream, like, on top. Very gentle.
B
Gotcha.
A
I haven't introduced any, like, serums or any of that stuff yet, because. Yeah, we're keeping it simple.
B
Your skin's looking great.
A
Thanks. I'm happy with it. It's good.
B
Where are you at right now with, like, the purge and all of that? Because, like, your skin looks great.
A
Like, I have a lot of makeup.
B
On, but, like, it looks flat. Yeah.
A
That's the thing. It's. Once again, it's more. I see, like, they say that a lot of after accutaneous scar management. I feel like I understand that now. You know, Like, I can see how you might want to do microdermabrasion or lasers or whatever it is, because, like, I feel like I have, like. I don't want to say craters in my skin. But like, that or like, it's just not healing the way I want it to.
B
Oh, yeah.
A
But the actual acne is away. Does that make sense?
B
Like, it's all gone?
A
Not. I might have, like, one active pimple, like, right now, like, kind of like on my chin.
B
Yeah.
A
But, yeah, for the most part.
B
That's amazing. Oh, my God, I'm so happy for you. No, that is amazing. Like, it is the worst feeling in the world when you're purging.
A
Yeah. That was tough little period there for a little bit. I know. People are like. In my comments, they're like, you got to get off of it. I'm like, this is the point.
B
No f that.
A
I know, I know. I'm like, I feel like that's the. The point here.
B
That's the point.
A
Yes. So I just went off. Her content's great, though. She gave me some other tips. I'm trying to think about, like, other. Her thing is literally all about, like, hydrating your skin. I think she just has really good racks. So go to her page. Yeah.
B
Yeah.
A
All right. Wow.
B
Thank you, Hydration CEO.
A
Yeah.
B
I feel like hydration is the key to, like, all of that.
A
I know. Like, the skin barrier.
B
Barrier breaks, like, all the things.
A
Yeah. Yeah. How about you? What are you loving?
B
My claw clip. I really need.
A
So good.
B
Thank you so much. When I walked in, Brooke asked me if I got my hair done, and I was like, oh, I can't wait to tell you what my favorite is on the podcast, guys. Oh, my God. See, now I need to shout this.
A
Girl out, because she's shouting out around here.
B
Yeah. Actually, straight up, this girl is who inspired this episode, like, inspired our conversation to talk about it, because she talks about, like, just romantic, like, little luxuries. She calls herself the everyday it girl. Her name is Rachel Stalke. S T A H L K E. Anyways, I. She makes all these videos about, like, those. Those products that just, like, make your day better. Like, those little things. Whatever. She's a mom. She, you know, works a few jobs. Like, and so these are just those things that really.
A
Oh, I love that.
B
Keep her.
A
I would like this content.
B
Yes. I need to send it your way. Anyways, I. You know, those people. It's just like, anything you tell me to buy, I will buy. Like, that's what she's become for me. And she was talking about a few products, and one of the things she talked about were these crown affair claw clips. They're just mini claw clips, and that's what I've been looking for because with hair extensions, if you want to wear your hair and a half up, half down with claw clip, my extensions are kind of right where you would put the claw clip. And it really hurts if you put a claw clip there. So I like to use the mini claw clips just to pull back those front pieces and kind of pin it in the back and have like a little volume. I like it. But no claw clips hold very well for me. Like, I know the mej ones. Maybe me J has mini ones. I don't know. Anyways, she was saying that these crown affair claw clips can hold forever. Like, there's nothing worse than when you have your hair and a half a puff down with a claw clip. There's many things worse, but you know what I mean? Like, it's just. It falls. You have to fix it halfway through. So you never did. And anyways, I'm shook. I wore this claw clip the other day. It stayed like, I never had to change my hair to redo it.
A
See the way that you have your hair. I thought that you, like, did it with like, almost like a mini hair.
B
Tie and then put it over top.
A
So tight and nice. Like, it's literally the claw clip.
B
I'm sure it must loosen after a while, but it comes in a pack of two. I'm. It looks great.
A
No, I'm a big, big fan of this. Is it at Sephora?
B
It's at Sephora.
A
Love that.
B
That comes in a pack of two. I wish they. They only have. It's just like a tortoise color, which is fine. It goes with a lot, but they need to come out with more colors. And like, I. This technology is amazing. I'm shook by it.
A
I'm gonna have to stop by.
B
You're gonna need.
A
Yeah. Because I feel like I always want to do like a claw clip style, but it just. It never lands.
B
It never.
A
Oh, like, with the exception of wearing it up, right?
B
Yeah. Up with a claw clip, we've got down. But at the half up, half down it, I'm like, how do these. If like girls just like throw it up like that? I think they all this. I don't know. And the MJ claw clip, people seem to work for people, but it does not work for me. It doesn't hold it tight enough. So anyways, sorry, that was a lot. But I feel really passionate about it. And we always have everything linked on our ltk.
A
Yes.
B
So and down below we'll have like the link to that. So.
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And in our newsletter which you guys should subscribe to our newsletter.
B
Like, we're not going to do this, but there's times I'm like, damn, we should just be posting this on our Instagram because not enough people are seeing it. But not now.
A
No, it's the newsletter gatekeeping. Our newsletter because it is such good content on there. It's free to join. Like, you just have to sign up. It's on substack. We have it linked. I believe in the show notes. We linked everywhere really. So it's just gotg cows on the go on.
B
Yeah, it's a fun little email to get in your inbox. Like when you're at work and you're kind of settling in, you're drinking your coffee. Like just read the Gals and the go newsletter. It usually comes out on Thursdays, the day after the podcast. And yeah, we have so many. It's really like, wouldn't just tell us, you guys. Like, it's fun, exclusive content.
A
It is, it is. Photos, videos.
B
Yeah. It's the closest we'll ever get to like Patreon. Like, yeah. At least right now. Like we.
A
It's free.
B
It's free. Yeah. It's not even behind a paywall. You just have to sign up and put your email in. So should we talk about our little luxuries?
A
We should. I think that we should.
B
Little luxuries, yeah. I'm excited to hear what you have to say. Can you start us off?
A
Yeah, I can definitely start it off.
B
Off.
A
Okay. For me, this could be like at home. Or for me specifically, like at a restaurant. I've been doing this again recently. I. I haven't done this in years and I'm getting back to the habit. Asking for lemon or lime in my water. Oh, at a restaurant. Home, whatever. I mean, you could. It's better at a restaurant cuz you don't have to slice it yourself, you know? And you're like, I'm literally having. I just drink water. But like if you drink some club soda. I don't know, go.
B
I know. I guess I'm drinking Coke these days.
A
There's something about water with like a fresh lemon though. And it really does feel like a little luxury. Like when you're.
B
You're so right. Like if you're just getting. Because getting a water dinner is so boring.
A
It's. I. I do feel boring sometimes. I'm like, oh no, I'll just take a water. Unless everybody's just getting water.
B
Oh no, not. Yeah. I'm not like judging other people, but when you get it?
A
You're like, no, I, I know. Especially when everybody else is getting like a fun drink or like I'm like, ah, water. But something about not only does it look pretty so then you enjoy it more. I like the taste. Like it's a whole thing. I feel like also at home it's fun to like, you know, slice up your lemons and put them in your water.
B
Definitely.
A
Yeah.
B
It's a whole spa water.
A
Yeah, it's a whole thing. Honestly, I feel like I from my trip, like there was spa water. So I was inspired and I just have been drinking my water with a lemon when I can. Not always, but it's lovely.
B
I could see you like making your own spa water at home and having like a dispenser and yes, that would.
A
Be, maybe that would be my next level, next step.
B
Yeah. You have to put in your storage room and not use.
A
Oh, of course.
B
You know, but you have that now freaking 10 minute.
A
Every time I want to make spa water, I have to drive.
B
Wait, I was watching one of your vlogs in the last few weeks. You have something for drinks, don't you?
A
What do I have for.
B
Don't you batch made a margarita or something?
A
Oh, I do have a like decant. What do we want to call it?
B
Like a. Yeah, but you can like dispense.
A
Yes.
B
Put your spot water in there.
A
I could put my spa if you.
B
Were like, like, you know, having some days where you were, you know, you were going to be at home and stuff or you have to redo it every day though.
A
I know that's the thing with the pre batch spa water. I feel like it loses the flavor.
B
Yeah, right. It'd be like for the day, like this is our spot.
A
I know, I feel like. But what you can do is pre cut fruit and keep that in the fridge.
B
That's true.
A
And then kind of add it to your meal prep. Yeah. I saw one person's video, I want to say it was Hannah Maloj like years ago and this really stuck with me that she would, her family would do like these like trays and just keep it in the fridge, like basically like a charcuterie tray but like with like fresh cut vegetables and fruits and it, it was like a snack tray that they just kept in the fridge. I've always wanted to be like that.
B
Like at the beginning of the week cutting up the fruits.
A
I think they had like a lot of kids like in the family, like maybe like four kids or something. So it's like. Yeah, like instead of like Preparing a snack for every child when they want it. It's like, oh, the snack thing is in the fridge.
B
I'm obsessed with that.
A
Right.
B
That could be your 2025. Like how you did like the goldfish and stuff. Like Nike veggies.
A
Yeah, that could be.
B
Cuz didn't you like snack? Yeah. Or have both.
A
Obviously I'm due for a Costco run. I am.
B
That sounds so.
A
Yeah. Anyways, that was a tangent on fresh fruit and veggie.
B
I love that. Brook. Wow, this episode's already so fun.
A
Love it. What, what, what about you little lugs?
B
This is a. A lot. Something I've done more recently. Like maybe in December I did this. I have like a piece of furniture in my hallway, like right before you head out the front door, where I have a drawer of all of those like things that you might want to put in your purse. Like just those last minute things. So I got a ton of organizer little things from my drawer and in there there's gum, hand sanitizer, like dollar bills, ton of lip products, lip balm, essential oils. That's like specific to me.
A
I love it. This is genius. Yeah.
B
Yeah. I'm trying to think of what else but basically just like anything and I really do like open the drawer and pull out things a lot. I'm gonna start putting my gloves, just some sort of like beanie and hand warmers in there for the winter time. But it is the best thing I ever did. It's that little luxury like when you're packing your purse. Because I feel like you too. Like we both change our purses out a lot. So you gotta. A luxury that I want to get on is getting some sort of like purse organizer. So it has all your essentials and then putting it in your next. But I guess those are pouches too at the end of the day, those pouches we were talking about.
A
Yeah, yeah, we could.
B
Well, you have but a purse. Like good pouches going though, but a smaller purse. Anyways. That's a whole other tangent.
A
Yeah, I think we might need to invent that.
B
Yeah. A little a gal on the go purse organizer. And then you can just like when you switch purses, you have everything in there.
A
I know, I know, I know.
B
You can have different sizes. Different sizes.
A
Maybe if we don't want to be as mediocre.
B
Yeah, step it up. We'll talk about being above average later. With a new year comes a new opportunity to reimagine ourselves in and more importantly, our wardrobe. I love this time of year. That was a really good one.
B
Thanks.
A
I on the theme of drinks, still, I feel very blessed that I live now in a home where I have an ice maker. Didn't realize how much it would level up my life if you don't have one in your. You know, I know in a lot of New York City apartments, they literally have them. And I've seen them. My friends have them. You can get them on Amazon for, like, less than 100. You can even get one for less than 30 if you want. Like the. And I'm telling you guys, it brings it up to another level. I know it's the winter, so you might be drinking more warm drinks, but I'm telling you, like, if you're a. Especially if you're a soda drinker, like, if you like a fun drink, pouring it over ice and like, having nice, it's gonna bring it to the next level.
B
And honestly, these ice makers on Amazon are even better because you can pick your ice.
A
True. That is true.
B
I see people talk about the Canes ice, the Chick Fil A ice. You know, you get all the different shapes of ice that you want.
A
Yeah. Yeah.
B
What's your favorite ice?
A
Like a pebble. So, like the Chick Fil A?
B
Yeah. It's so sad.
A
Yeah. What about you?
B
In a perfect world, the pebble, I.
A
Feel like it just tastes better too.
B
Yeah.
A
But I don't like any sort of crushed diet. I definitely crotched over, like.
B
Yeah.
A
Yes.
B
Oh, my God. So good.
A
No, I'm a big ice person. I feel like that bring. For me, that is a little luxury that. And I. Some of you probably who don't live in New York are listening like, duh. I have an ice maker because it's, like, pretty standard. I feel like in most other places.
B
Not in New York at all.
A
Well, fire it up. Start using it again. It's really good.
B
And it's pretty amazing because you like ice beverages. Like when you wake up, like, I'm assuming you're still making ice beverages.
A
Yes.
B
No.
A
When I wake up, my. Honestly, it's one of my favorite things in the world that I can go to my fridge and I have the scoop that came with the fridge and I scoop my ice into my iced coffee every morning. Like, I'm like, I. I'm a queen. This is amazing.
B
I believe it because even when we filmed your am uncovered at your last permit, you had to like get them out of the ice maker or what's those called? Ice trays.
A
Yeah. I was like.
B
And you have to refill the ice trays. When you'd have parties, you have to like refill the ice trays.
A
Like now I got ice on tap. I mean, that is luxury.
B
Oh my gosh. Oh, I'm so happy for you.
A
Thank you. Thank you.
B
Really, really nice.
A
Yeah.
B
This next one will come to no surprise, but it really does elevate my life and that is always having on some sort of jazz music, lounge music, lo fi music if you're working. Like, I like feeling like I'm in a hotel lobby at all times. And so for me that means. Oh, I've also recently gotten into acoustic instrumental music music. Great stuff. Like a guitar strumming. Great for the morning.
A
I see. No, that is a good morning vibe. I feel like it's like.
B
Yeah.
A
Kind of giving hatch alarm clock sound.
B
It is giving alarms. Did you see that hatch was down? I Did you experience?
A
I did actually. I deleted the app. I redownloaded the app. I thought it was user error.
B
Everyone was thinking that. And the only reason I knew something was up because that morning. Because you probably have it set for like weekdays or whatever. Me too. Well, that morning I had it set for weekdays. The morning like before everything. Everyone else was having trouble that night. My alarm didn't go off. I totally missed my alarm. I slept until 9:00, which is not the end of the world, thankfully for what we do. But I was supposed to wake up at 7:30.
A
Oh, yeah.
B
And I thought for sure. Oh, I just, you know. But I definitely. It did not go off. So then that night I happened to go on the app, but. And then it wasn't working. But if I hadn't, I would have gone to bed thinking. But it did end up working. I'm sure you too. Like the next morning the alarms did go off even though it wasn't working.
A
Yes.
B
But scary out there.
A
I like just restarted using mine again too because.
B
Right.
A
I don't know. I was just using my iPhone like Cash now. Yeah.
B
You still.
A
No, I honestly wanted for the sunrise function because it's dark in the mornings now. I feel like in the summer when it's like light in the morning. Like I Don't really need it. Like light pours into my room. Like I don't necessarily need it.
B
Yeah, that makes sense.
A
But it's really nice.
B
I always think about for like couples I guess you and Ben don't wake up at the same time.
A
No. And he. I feel like he wakes up via internal body clock a lot of the times. Really?
B
Wow.
A
I know he's deep. Yeah, well, pretty scared. Like once he gets on a good schedule and when it's like he's like a baby, I'm like he's on a good schedule.
B
Yeah, we've got him on a good schedule right now.
A
No, but I think about like that too though. You don't like when, when I start like right now my new wake up time is 7:20. Like I've. That's been my new.
B
Yeah. You body clock for sure.
A
And I've been starting. Do you mean. Absolutely not. But nine times out of 10 I'll wake up around 7:20. Now? Yeah, like now that I've been back on.
B
Yeah, I'm getting there. I was. It really went down after like being home for the holiday. But normally 7:30 is when my eyes start to open.
A
A slow.
B
Yeah.
A
But it depends though because if I'm out late the night before I'll like adjust and stuff. Like me like sleep is pretty important. Like I'm not really wanting to necessarily compromise too much.
B
Yeah. Oh my God. I'm going to Soul cycle tomorrow.
A
Wow.
B
It's because the straight class is every Friday and I but F me because I usually go with Caitlyn. Like I knew and so I text her and she's like oh, I might not be able to go. I'm like oh, I don't know if I want to go alone. I'm nervous but I'm gonna go. Wow, that's great of me.
A
I'm so proud. I think it will be great. And you know you'll vibe and you'll Jonas. Yeah.
B
Like a drink class every Friday. So I was like let me, let me do that. Even though it's freezing outside.
A
I know getting there is A. Yeah.
B
8Am like oh yeah, it's the 8am Wake and Drake. But like how fun is that?
A
So will you still wake up at 7:30 then for an eight.
B
No wake up at seven.
A
That's. Guys, try being in an influencer for a day. It's hard. Gotta wake up at seven.
B
But this all goes back to being a couple. Okay, I'm going too many tangents. But like having a hatch alarm. Like I feel like, if your hatch alarm. Let's say you and Ben are waking up at the same. At the same time. If your hatchlam goes off, does he hear it?
A
Yeah, he's there.
B
But when Ryan sleeps over and I put my hatch on, like, I have to then wake him up because he doesn't hear it. I don't know if I need to up the volume.
A
Yeah, I think you got to increase the volume.
B
Or do people get surround sound? Do they get a hatch on either side? Is that a thing? Because that just like, won't work.
A
I. I don't know.
B
Because you gotta wake up. Then you have to wake up your partner. Like, that's a lot.
A
He's not into the hatch. All I know is that like, yeah, yeah. I tried to be like, oh, you know, you like this. Like, he's like, it's not. I don't think it's for him.
B
Yeah, I think it's too gentle for the boys.
A
Like, my brother likes it though. But he has one. He also has no window shows, so he's like, so right when he wakes up early, he. Oh, my gosh.
B
I just like, mimic suddenly.
A
Poor Sal. He's fine.
B
Oh, my God.
A
But yeah, you know.
B
Did this all start from ice?
A
No.
B
Jazz music.
A
Okay.
B
We did move on to jazz. Okay, now we're back.
A
Sounded like. Yeah, that's great. I agree. I've been big on my YouTube live streams. Like, just seeing what it serves me. And you know, the home page page.
B
It'S like, so fun to see what they have.
A
What you got today? Okay, here we go. Little look. Doing like. I think we've discussed the concept of like a turndown routine before.
B
Yeah.
A
But for me, now we're talking about the luxuries of time in January. It's just getting in bed, like, you know, if I'm. If I normally. Let's just say, like, to be in bed by like, I don't know, 10:30 or 11. Let's just say right now I'm like, getting in bed at like 9:30. Because I know that that's intentional, like, reading time.
B
Yeah.
A
Red light mask time, maybe. I've been doing the red light cap. I saw that.
B
You got that. I saw ads for that. That is. Does it really, like, it did look like a baseball hat.
A
It looks totally like a baseball hat. But you can't like, fold it because it's like the red light pack is like all over it. And it's 10 minutes a day. And I don't know if it's worth, like, I have to give it time.
B
Yeah.
A
But I'm committed. Committed to the 10 minutes a day.
B
That's so cool.
A
I'm really deeply committed. And that's my. My, like, you know, bedtime. Like, I'm rolling my face or like, if I'm read. I have not been journaling, but, like, I almost like to fake to myself that I have to get into bed earlier than I actually do to give myself that time to actually, like, sit and enjoy, to not be like, I have to go to bed or else I'm not gonna get enough sleep, or else I'm not gonna. I don't know if you get like that.
B
No. It's a good reminder because sometimes living alone, I'm like, I could go to bed, or I could stay up and watch another episode of my show. But the thing is, then I do want to get in bed and do all just said. So you kind of have to be intentional. Like, we're not maybe going to sleep yet, but let's get into bed and do all those things, because then you're up too late doing those things.
A
Exactly.
B
And you don't get enough sleep.
A
Yeah. Some people don't like to do anything in their bed. I. I don't think that's, like, too much, but, you know.
B
No, no, no. Yeah, I'm. I really want to get back into reading. I miss, like, going into a different world. Like, you need to read.
A
No, Danielle. I'm, like, reading this book. Like, Danielle legitimately needs to read this book.
B
Really? Okay. That's. Was the.
A
Yes. It's not too. So it's Mel Robbins. Let them.
B
The let them theory, which we've talked about on the podcast.
A
You were the one who taught me that, I think.
B
And my mom told me about it. Like, it's amazing.
A
And then my mom got served the reels of Mel Robbins, and she was like, I'm obsessed with this woman. I was like, tour. That is literally the intersection of your mom and my mom is Mel Robbins.
B
That'll play.
A
Yeah.
B
So. And so then Brooke posted on her story, and I was like, oh, my gosh. And Brooke said, join me and my mom. We're reading it right now.
A
It is great. I have to tell you because she. Everything's like a personal story. It's not just, like, do this and do this. Like, she's not, like, preaching at you. It's very much so. Like, when we were getting my son ready for his senior prom, this happened. And like, you know, and like, thank you, Mel. Yes.
B
Give us some examples.
A
Very practical. And she's so real about her own life. Which I appreciate because I feel like so many self help people, they act like they're like holier than thou. Like well I'm great and you're mediocre. I know a mediocre, mediocre.
B
Thank you. I know what you mean though.
A
And she's so real. Yeah. So just highly suggest. And a lot of it is about people pleasing. So I think you would really benefit.
B
Okay. I needed to hear this. Thank you. Thank you. That'll. Tonight. I'm going to start tonight. Well, my plans just got canceled for tonight so tonight I will get into bed at 9:30. I'll be thinking about you. Like Brooke is getting. Oh no, actually you'll be off.
A
You're.
B
You're traveling.
A
I know, I'm, I'm off schedule.
B
Off schedule. But I'll be thinking, wow, that's really sweet. So thanks for that Israel. I love this episode so much.
A
This is sweet.
B
Next up, this is super materialistic cashmere socks. I'm wearing them right now. It's cold out cold and who knew you could have cashmere socks?
A
They really keep you warm. I will say they're almost like too warm. Dare I say? Like not actually, but like they are very warm.
B
You run hot. Don't wear them. Like if you get something for today, it's perfect for today and they're just so like you put them on. Cuz I feel like I always put on like a raggedy pair of socks, you know? Know. But today I put on my cashmere socks with my boots and I just felt snuggled and I felt rich. I was like, yeah, I got them on Amazon. But like they're really. Yeah. Well I have a couple pairs. I have some actually from Quinn's. My mom got me some from Quinn's for Christmas.
A
That's Lux.
B
And so then I went and bought some from Amazon. She's like oh by the way the ones I got you from Quince and they're like 100 cash or whatever percent cashmere. And so then I was like okay, we gotta go back quints.
A
They are really nice for the winter. I will say they're, they're lovely cash. I mean that's, that's Lux cashmere.
B
Anything but.
A
Yeah, I'm here for like a nice fabric these days. Like a nice.
B
Yeah. Are we getting old? Is that what that's about? It's like we were just talking before we started. Like that brand's so itchy.
A
Like it's not soft on my skin. I've also been into like dishes, like servewear. Like I want to. I'm thinking about like, you know, going and getting like. Instead of like getting my dishes at home goods, I want to like go to like a local, local place. Oh yeah. Like get like dishes. I'm like, wow, that is.
B
Yeah, that is really. God, I haven't gotten there yet.
A
No, this is, that's a new thing. That's because I have like a shelf for it. Like it's a whole thing.
B
Yeah, there's an area.
A
Yeah. Fresh flowers. I'm big on fresh flowers. I will say I feel like we both are.
B
Yeah.
A
But I'm like every time I go to the grocery store, like.
B
Yeah, I don't do that procured.
A
I just think it, it is such a little luxury. Like it just, you know, it brings me so much joy when I look at it. If you take good care of them, I feel like you can make them last for actually like a really decent AM of time.
B
Definitely.
A
And if you get a big enough bouquet, you can split it up into like two or three.
B
Put it in different room.
A
Yeah.
B
Really sweet.
A
Your bedroom, your bathroom. Like if you know you're having guests over or something. It's really nice to me. It's always some life.
B
Well, I guess technically they're dead cuz they've been cut. But like, but they're living cuz they're in the water.
A
It's a, it's a plant. Like some, some green. But I've been taking care of my plants too. That I've some plants. You know, she's got some.
B
Yeah, she's a plant mom. You put that in your bio? Plant mom. Content creator. I would really be concerned if that was in your bio. I'd be like, I'd call you.
A
Is everything going well in Brooklyn?
B
Yeah. Like when your mom thought you were like off the grid, saw you at a hotel, she's like, where are you right now? That would be.
A
Yeah, that's really, really funny.
B
That's really nice. I. Well, we know my debacle with flowers and Ryan getting me flowers like back in the day, remember that Tick Tock went viral.
A
Yes.
B
I. I do not buy flowers now. Unless really. Because I need him to see.
A
Oh, she needs them.
B
Yeah. But you live with your boyfriend, so it's different.
A
Like there's definitely been a few times though where he.
B
I've seen he brings you flowers. Yeah, but that's nice.
A
But then there's times when I'm just like, oh well, I'm grocery shopping. Like I'll get The flowers. I don't know. Like, because it's personal thing that I want it. It varies.
B
No, sorry. I didn't mean that in, like, annoying for that as well. I'm like, I'm shitting.
A
I have an empty vase over here.
B
I know I'm being petty. I'm like, look, I never say anything, but I'm just like.
A
Trader Joe's are so cheap, by the way. You can get flowers for, like five bucks. So.
B
Yeah. I also literally haven't got a Trader Joe's in so long, and I miss it. And when you go to Trader Joe's, like, you can't not buy flowers. Like, they're so, so great and they.
A
They stay so well. Like, they're really, like, good quality flowers.
B
Yeah.
A
In my opinion, someone's gonna be like, they're not good quality. Like, I don't know.
B
We're gonna get a DM later.
A
Brooke, don't you know there's, like, no florist near me? Like, Trader Joe's, like, legitimately, like, it's like Target or Trader Joe's are, like, the places to get fires. Like, I want to, like, support a local florist.
B
There's no.
A
Really only those. I'm like, I have to get the cheap option.
B
Such I need to go back to school. Acts like that place is.
A
Yeah.
B
So good. I love that. I think it's so fun when you're grocery shopping to have the flowers in your cart. So fun. Next up. Kind of similar to what you're talking about. The turndown service. My. My nightstand drawer has become my bestie. Honestly, my top drawer. My top drawer of my nightstand is everything to me. That's a drawer. You can open it. I'll be like, yes, go in.
A
Permission grit.
B
My friend. My friend slept over the other day, and she was like, like, why do I have. What's that word? When you have a. Oh. She was like, why do I have an intrusive thought to open up your nightstand right now? I was like, go for it. Like, it's okay.
A
That something is going to, like, pop out.
B
Yeah. She just thought there'd be, like, like, I don't know, handcuffs in there. I was like, don't worry. There's nothing. Not that that's bad, but I was like, you can open it. It's okay.
A
That's in the basket underneath.
B
Yeah, don't worry. I just thought it was so funny. Like, I have an intrusive thought right now. Like, she just said it, but in my nightstand drawer, it's it that it's my little Brooke Michio moment. When I get in bed, I do these things. I recently put a lip balm. The Clinique Moisture Surge lip balm. Random. But that's what's in there. It's so moisturizing. I literally wake up the next day, and I still have it on my lips.
A
Oh, wow. That's amazing, right? Yeah, that's. That's crazy.
B
Unheard of, obviously. Essential oils of any kind. I also have reintroduced the pillow mist.
A
Love it.
B
The pillow.
A
This is a real turndown service, then.
B
Yeah, this is. And it's all. And I'm already in bed. Like, I'm in bed, and I'm just grabbing.
A
Yeah, you're grabbing these.
B
Yeah. I'm not doing and spraying. Just spraying basically myself. And then lotion on my feet before bed. Rio. Rio de Janeiro. Soul de Janeiro. They have, like, a foot lotion, and I put that on my feet before I go to bed, too, because my feet have been dry lately. Tmi, but not cute. So those are my little things I do when I get in bed. Once I brush my teeth, once I have the sock curls and the roller in my hair. Like, we're just ready for.
A
Then you're fully ready.
B
Yeah. I can then do my beauty rest. But it's really so nice to customize your little nightstand area is. And have your. Your Kindle, your. Maybe your red light mask is charging right there. Like, literally, whatever it is.
A
Just sleep gummies. For sure.
B
Those are. I mean, I don't know if they're slept on. Like, I guess everyone. They're so good.
A
So good.
B
That's a luxury in itself.
A
I know. If you guys, like, I'm a melatonin girl to my core. So, like, you know, I. I know good melatonin.
B
Yeah, you do. You're like my melatonin dealer.
A
You were my melatonin dealer for a second, but you had, like, pills. Pills. No, you got to do the gummies.
B
Yeah, no, I'm on the gummies now. Oh, yeah. Those were amazing. Those little 5 or 1 milligram. Is that what you're talking? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
A
You know, people are like, the Lemmy gummies, like, knock me out into, like, the new millennium. I'm like, really? Like, for me, I get a good night's sleep, but they're not, like. They're not like.
B
And that's why we like them. I feel like, because they're not. They don't make you feel groggy. But do you take two every time or just one?
A
It varies.
B
Yeah. You kind of prescribe yourself. Yeah, for like, last night. Just one.
A
You know, I don't take them every night either.
B
No. Then you lose the excitement.
A
This is the spark.
B
Like, it makes you. Like you're just sitting there and you're like, I'm about to fall asleep right now if I don't get into bed. It's wild. Hi, I'm Stassi Schroeder. On my podcast, I share candid updates from my personal life, chat with some of my best friends about what's going on in our lives, give commentary on the latest pop culture headlines, and sometimes deep dive, dive into random topics. I'm obsessed with, like, human design. It's a bit all over the place, but that's how I like it. And you will too.
A
Listen to my podcast dossi.
B
Wherever you get your podcasts. What's your next one?
A
Good stuff, I have to say. Ad free streaming services.
B
Ooh, Brooke, this is a good one.
A
It is a good one. I don't. I waited literally until last year around this time to you do YouTube ad free. I don't really know what I. I think I. I got like, a. A big brand deal for work, and I said, I'm. I'm doing it. I'm gonna buy myself YouTube Premium. It's literally $10 a month, guys. And YouTube is my number one watch streaming service. Like, I really, you know, I'll dabble. Like, I'll watch a little Netflix, Hulu, whatever. Of course, like everybody else.
B
Yeah.
A
But I. My brother was roasting me because I have ads on my hbo. Sue me. I've had some, like, whatever. Like, I. I don't pay for ad free on everything YouTube Premium. I was like, I'm finally gonna do it. Okay. I. It has changed my life. I like, forgot that, that. That I ever even watch things with ads.
B
The only time, and maybe you too, I watch ads is if I'm accidentally logged into our gals on the go YouTube and I go to click on a video thinking it's my subscription box and I'm watching a video and then pops up. I'm like, what's going on? No YouTube premiums. Incredible.
A
Incredible. If you. Especially if you are an avid YouTube watcher, you know, if you're not, then I guess it's not like you have to pick what's important to you. Like, you know, if you're a big Netflix person, then, like, going ad free, I feel like anything like SoundCloud, that's like, big to you. I feel like. Yeah, you. You don't Think it's game changer, but it really, really is.
B
Yeah, I think you're so right. It's like kind of tap into whatever your most used platform is. Maybe it's one, maybe it's two. And definitely get the ad free on those. Like, just spoil yourself just a little bit. Not on all.
A
That's a nice, nice luxury.
B
My favorite is when you're, like, watching tv and then you look at someone, you're like, oh, yeah, I don't know if I have the ads. Sorry about that.
A
That's a revealing moment.
B
Yeah.
A
One when you're like, all right, do we or do we not have ad ads?
B
Yeah, we do have ads on. There's too many apps, and I'm succumbing. I'm like, January, February is when I watch tv. Like, I'm watching tv. I'm watching the Affair right now on Amazon prime. But it's technically like a Paramount plus add on, like, maybe I accidentally bought it. I don't know. But, like, it's so good.
A
Really? Yeah. You're locked into.
B
If you like. It's. It's a good vibe, so. Wow. Love that one.
A
Yeah. Yeah.
B
Little lugs. Yeah. A little luxury. Next up. Up. I just bought. Okay. I actually can't say this because. But I'm going to. I don't have it yet, but I did just buy a towel warmer, and I feel like this is something you would like as well.
A
I know. I. I've considered. But the space.
B
I know.
A
And it does look a little odd, but I feel like it's so nice. So you have to figure out how.
B
Great it is, and I'll keep you posted. My theory is, thankfully, I let them theory. Yeah, let them theory. Well, I guess we both have multiple bathrooms. And, like, if it isn't working in mine, then I'll put it in the guest bathroom and. And.
A
Oh, you definitely have room for it.
B
You think in one of your.
A
Yeah, yeah. Well, I'm hoping. But it.
B
It. It kind of just looks like another trash can. But I'm really excited to put. But I'm also thinking I could put my pajamas in there.
A
Totally.
B
My robe, like, it's just something, though in the summer, I'm gonna not want that at all. And I'm gonna say I'm storage unit.
A
What do you do for storage? Then at this point, like, where's your Christmas tree?
B
My Christmas tree is still next to my couch, actually, in the Christmas tree bag. But it is gonna go above my coat closet. I have tall, you know, ceiling tall storage.
A
Yeah.
B
So I'm just using the height.
A
I see.
B
Like, we're going up, like, this morning I needed my scarf. I had to, you know, get on my stool and go. But it's stored.
A
It's there. Yes, yes. You had to get it.
B
Yeah, but it's how a warmer. I'm really excited about. Sydney Adams has had one forever, and I always. And she lives in Florida, so I'm like, I need one in New York.
A
I feel like a lot of home creators have it and it does look so nice. And I feel like it's. It's literally a little luxury. Like, you're like, I don't need it. But, like, you know, it's. I don't know what the cost. I'm assuming less than $100. Like.
B
Yeah, it was under $100. And they have different types, you know. Yeah, they have ones that are like the rods, which. That kind of freaked me out. Like a hot rod. And you put your.
A
Oh, I would totally that up.
B
Yeah, no, no, that would not be good.
A
Oh, my God.
B
Congrats. You know, so definitely. We'll keep you guys posted on that. Yeah, let me know how I'm excited about it, though.
A
Yeah, that sounds like a little luxury to me. I've been really big on, like, this new salt. It's not new. It's one. Once again, it's literally $7 Maldens. Yes.
B
Yeah.
A
And I waited so long to get.
B
I was like, why do we do that?
A
I was like, I don't need it. It's too nice. Like, it's.
B
What are you putting your salt on?
A
Everything. I put salt on everything. I mean, it's great.
B
Like the Maldon salt on everything. I never know what to put it on.
A
Pasta. I mean, like, straight up, like buttered noodles, but then also, like pasta with even sauces. Popcorn. You could put it. I haven't done the coffee yet, but some people do like salt and coffee. And I feel like a sea salt flavored coffee type situation.
B
Yeah, that sounds really good. Cookies. You can put them on cookies. I've done that.
A
Yes. It's like a flaky sea salt. I just, you know, I. I'm here for upgrading via spices and whatnot. You know, I have like, I had like the pink salt grinder for the long this time also. Nice salt.
B
Yeah.
A
I just am realizing that I like seasonings, you know, Seasonings.
B
Now you need to get a little, like, bowl to put your Meldon salt in. So when you go to grab it. Because it. It's in that box right yeah. Bag. It's kind of wonky. So you gotta.
A
Is that what you use? Pinchbowl?
B
No, my.
A
You're just familiar with the salt.
B
No. My mom's boyfriend who cooks, he always has, like, a little bowl of salt out, and I always thought that was really.
A
That is chic.
B
Very chic of him. He would hate.
A
If I say that he's. He's so.
B
She's like, I'm chic. Nice now, but you should do that for your mountain salt. I don't use it enough, but it sounds like. I feel like that would be cute.
A
Yeah, that would be right? Yeah. I think I need to. I'm here for that. Like, the olive oil investment. Like the. The salt, the. Yeah, that sort of stuff.
B
I like that a lot. These are kind of. Can I say two in one? Because it kind of ties it together.
A
Please.
B
So one is having a perfume tray. I think a lot of people already do this, but let's, like, seeing all of your scents. You know, we've talked about this. Some people have seasonal scents. Some people have a yearly scent. Whatever it is. I do scents based off mood. So if it's. I have my going out scent, I have my workout scent. I have my bedtime perfume, which was kind of my two in one. Me and Kelly were talking about this, how she sprays a certain perfume on before bed to like. And I've seen people talk about this, like, mimic, like, okay, it's time for bed. So I've been doing that, which I really like. I've been using Replica by the fireplace as like, my bedtime.
A
That's a good scent.
B
Yeah, you have that one. It's good. But also just, like, seeing all of your perfumes in a beautiful way. Like, I got this inexpensive, like, travertine tray from Amazon, and it's just. It's a whole vibe.
A
We need to make an Amazon list for this episode, too.
B
Clearly. It's an Amazon day. Amazon's too fun.
A
I know, I know. That's another fun gift card to get. Gift card. You're like, oh, what world is my oyster?
B
The world is your oyster. You could get groceries.
A
I know.
B
I could get toilet paper. You could.
A
I know. That's literally what I.
B
You could get a travertine tray.
A
Yeah. You could get your melody and salt.
B
Get a jelly cat.
A
Yeah, anything. Because. Did you know Amazon was supposed to be from. From A to Z? That's why it's called Amazon. Like, the original logo was like an A, like, with an arrow to, like.
B
A Z. I did not know that. But that's great. No, because didn't they start out with just books?
A
Yeah. And then I think that there was some sort of a rebrand in there.
B
Yeah. Cause it's not just books.
A
Yeah.
B
Wow.
A
Definitely not. My last one is. We kind of talked about this already.
B
But, like, let's talk about it more.
A
Organizing and just. I just have noticed, I have to say, the. The stress levels of me as a person when my life is organized. Like, you know, if. Oh, I'm. I'm packing for something, I'm getting ready for something. Just having everything have a place. It makes cleaning eas. Like, it just. It's really simplified my life. So do yourself the flavor and like, invest in. I. I got like a back of the door storage thing from. Where is it from? Container Store. I think they're bankrupt. I don't know. Are they going out of business?
B
Beyond and Container Store.
A
I know. And I think. I think you could still shop online, but, you know, like, and the baskets and the whatever. Like, do yourself the favor, like, get matching baskets. Get like those sort of things. I feel like it really does make a little bit of a difference. And I'm not a naturally organized person, but like, like creating sort of like those systems for myself has truly been a game changer.
B
I'm obsessed with this. And it's like, cool, create the systems, but you're doing it because then when you're in a rush or you're traveling, it makes it so easy. That's a good motivation, honestly, to organize because it's like, I'll be happy with myself later.
A
Totally. Because you know how it is when you're like, oh, my God, where's my black shirt? Where's my black shirt? It's like you could just have a.
B
Simple place for it where the black shirts are. Yeah, but you have black shirts with pink shirts. Yeah. I really like that. It's a good motivation. I think I'm about to embark. Embark on some sort of organization eventually. I think we both are. I feel it in us. Well, you've already been doing it sounds.
A
We've been watching a show that like featured organization, right?
B
Yeah. I still want you to watch a Extreme Makeover Home Edition. And apparently. Or you told me, I think that they have their own show too. The Home edits.
A
Yes, yes, yes.
B
So that's something.
A
There's so much home organization actually on Netflix. There's like the Marie Kondo. There's.
B
Oh, my God, tvt.
A
Yeah. There's. There's some good content.
B
Yeah.
A
Wow. I know. I Love watching. Organizing content is like a get excited, you know?
B
Who hasn't come on my for you page in a while. Is your girl Operation Nikki. Yes.
A
Really?
B
I need her back. Phone. Listen to me. Hello?
A
Operation Nikki start to get served again. I've seen some of her New Year's.
B
Stuff and like, oh, it's New Year's cleaning. Is she doing a reset?
A
I need.
B
I'm obsessed with her.
A
She's pulling out the fridge. Deep cleaning behind it.
B
Oh, your favorite. That's your favorite thing.
A
Done that.
B
You're like, I've never done that. I've never seen my parents feel like.
A
If I did it, I might risk it falling on myself and.
B
Yeah. Or unplugging it and be able to plug it back in. Like, props to Nikki on.
A
Yeah, yeah. We're just going to start with some simple organization bins. How about that? Or throwing out the stuff that's expired. I started doing that today.
B
Oh, yeah.
A
Unintentionally, I reached for a protein bar. I was like, this expired. It's like the TikTok sound like it expired in August of 2021. I was like, holy shit. I was about deep.
B
That's really. That actually happened to me the other day with adventure.
A
Oh, yeah, it's expired.
B
Which I guess is not like the worst thing. It's just not as effective as what my dad was saying. But scary.
A
I know. Check your dates, people.
B
Check your dates, people. Check your passport. Check all the things.
A
Yeah.
B
Very important. Yeah.
A
Do you have anything else?
B
No. I was thinking about perfect closing remarks, but no, my list is done.
A
We'll see. Signing off. This is the gal.
B
Yeah. I really enjoyed this episode and I implore you all to let us know if there's anything similar to what we talked about today or any other, like, fun topics like this you want us to talk about. Like, we kind of like, know the vibes, but if you're ever like, Danielle, Brooke, this would be fun.
A

We like to do it from our couch. We like to do it from our bed. Bed. And Rakuten is the smartest way to save money when you shop because you earn cash back at over 3, 500 stores. We're talking fashion, beauty, electronics, home essentials, travel, dining, concerts. Literally. It's all so easy. The cashback is deposited directly into your PayPal account or Rakuten can send you a check. So when I am shopping online on Sephora or Ulta or Neiman Marcus or Saks, I'm getting cash back like it is just the greatest thing ever. I feel like it's kind of justifying my online shopping, if you will. You're already shopping at your favorite stores, so why not save while you're doing it? It's a no brainer. You can even maximize your savings by stacking cash back on top of other deals like store sales and coupons. So you know, when there's a sale, I'm going hard. I'm like, sale plus racket. Oh, it's amazing. Get the Rakuten app now and join the 17 million members who are already saving. I'm one of them. Cashback rates change daily. See rakuten.com for details. That's R A K u T E N.
