Ice-hockey – @kade_m Organiser @queerclash joins the show at the top of the hour to talk about an exciting new initiative – an inclusive ice hockey weekend with draft, all-star game and good vibes! Footy – @christieeerw Committee Member of @pride_cfc the Carlton Football Club’s official supporter group joins the show to share that they are having a fun trivia night at IKON Park – Carlton’s home ground on Saturday 18 April – and you are invited! Pride In Sport Awards – the @prideinsport awards were held last night and it was a wonderful night dedicated solely to recognising exceptional efforts in making sport more inclusive of LGBTQIA+ people. @bencork National Program Manager @prideinsport was in the @joy949 Sport Studio to recap the night and the winners. Kristina Mitsikas, Senior Manager – Inclusion @uwasport joined us to share the journey to achieving Sporting Organisation of the Year and being recognised as Platinum Tier with colleagues Kirsty Fraser and Gabrielle Morri. UWA staffer and @perthpythonshockey member Reid Smith was on the mic to share the journey to being recognised as Community Sport of the Year, acknowledging the outstanding contribution at the grassroots level in field hockey.
