today for Pete's sake.
Chris Reivers
Pete's not here.
Joe Sutton
I forgot to put down the weather records.
Chris Reivers
I can find them for you.
Joe Sutton
I. Oh, for Pete's sake. We're rolling, bro.
Kenny Olson
Wait a minute.
Joe Sutton
I need a some scrap. Well, people. People.
Kenny Olson
Matthew, grab me some paper.
Joe Sutton
People, we need those.
John Height
We need those.
Chris Reivers
Well, if only it hadn't been berating us for the last 15 minutes. Joe, I'm rolling.
Kenny Olson
That's some. I use some of your details.
Joe Sutton
Well, don't you have them?
Chris Reivers
I will get them.
Joe Sutton
You said you could get them.
Chris Reivers
Okay, I will.
Joe Sutton
Josh Arnold.
Chris Reivers
We'll begin the show. Geolog. You're gonna have to wait a minute or two for your daily weather records. Go ahead.
Joe Sutton
Josh Arnold, investment consultant, brings you Garagelogic podcast number 1780, May 18, 2026. And I apologize. Whoa. I forgot to write down the records for the highs and lows. I feel terrible about that.
Kenny Olson
73, the high date in 1963. 42, the low in, ironically, 1942.
Joe Sutton
Well, I. I would have accepted that, except the record high would be much warmer than 73.
Kenny Olson
95, the high on this day in whatever year.
Joe Sutton
I said that's fine. I'll accept that. Call Josh Arnold at 952-925-5608 for a free 48 minute consultation.
Chris Reivers
Hail the Flashlight King.
Joe Sutton
And now, from the mayor's office above the boathouse on the east shore of Spoon Lake, it's Garage Logic, with Chris Reavers manning technology corner, Kenny Olson from the crabby coffee shop, John Height in the newsroom, and of course, the rookie here is your Flashlight King fireworks commissioner, and the keeper of common sense, your mayor, Joe Sutton. Sure, sue writes with a terrible lilac update. I get lilac fever every May, but as I live in an apartment, I have places to go to poach lilacs. I don't go in private yards, though I would love to. Over the years, these places have dwindled. As construction develops, the first thing to go are lilac bushes and large trees. One place that has lots of lilacs was the City hall area of Woodbury. A few days ago, I drove by and saw the lilacs, including white lilacs, beginning to bloom. I went by on Wednesday afternoon and the lilacs on the corner of Radio Drive and Valley Creek Road had been executed. In their place were three tiny evergreens, one spindly tree, a couple of rocks, and some brown mulch. They cut down blooming lilacs, darker purple ones and white ones. I'm not sure, but I think they were French lilacs. They do still have lilacs around the Veterans Memorial. They had cut those down a year or two ago. Thankfully, they grow fast and are coming back. Lest they execute those, too. What can you expect from a city flying the fraud flag? If you don't want to read this whole diatribe on the air, at least berate Woodbury for their disgraceful act. Thank you, Sue. My lilac Update is within 48 hours, I will have full flowering. Really? I could call it today, but I won't, because I go for accuracy.
Matthew
That surprises Me because we look at
Joe Sutton
cooler temperatures a little early. It's only the 18th. It's only the 18th. Usually I'm around Memorial Day, but that's this week coming up a week from the day is Memorial Day.
Kenny Olson
Fascinating.
Chris Reivers
I can confirm Kenny was correct. 93 degrees on this day in 2012 and your low was 27 in 1915.
Joe Sutton
Thank you. Where did you acquire those?
Chris Reivers
That is from extremeweatherwatch.com I see.
Joe Sutton
Thank you very much.
Chris Reivers
You're welcome, Joe.
Joe Sutton
Tom Lyman. The Lyman's. By the way, as you'll note later in the show, they're back in Minnesota. This extraordinary journey they had is completed. They're back in Eden Prairie.
Kenny Olson
Welcome home.
Joe Sutton
But from time to time he sends me newsletters that he gets regarding financial life in the world. He's a student and apparently he must be because look at the way he's so. What's the word I want? He so worldly, carefully tended his money that they can afford these extraordinary adventures that they take. And I always read the things he sends me and this one he sent me and it's alarming but he said he didn't offer me who wrote it. So I've emailed him back and said, well, who wrote this? I don't doubt him for a moment that this is one of his emails. In fact, it was. Whatever it was was published yesterday and it's called you tell me. And I'm not going to read the whole thing because it's seven pages long.
Chris Reivers
Why don't you.
Joe Sutton
Thank you. I want to get to the part about diesel fuel and then maybe farm boy Kenny can weigh in here. Pressure.
Kenny Olson
Wait a minute. This isn't the one where we got chastised, is it?
Joe Sutton
No.
Kenny Olson
You got that one, didn't you?
Joe Sutton
Yes. Okay, well, we mentioned Rudolph Diesel the other day. Someone's all upset that we didn't give a complete biography of the gu. I'm sorry, it was just. Anyway, here's this from this newsletter and I will limit this because again, I don't know who wrote it, but Tom has never steered me wrong. Not all fuels are equal. In a fuel crisis, diesel runs out first. And when diesel stops, America stops us. Distillate inventories. Diesel and jet fuel combined are 11% below the five year average and at the lowest level since 2005 In Michigan, diesel hits $6 a gallon in the Great Lakes region is above $6 In California, projections range from 6 to $8.90 a gallon, depending on how long the crisis continues. Diesel is not a luxury fuel. Diesel is the Blood supply of the American economy. 70% of all agricultural and food products in the US are transported by truck. Every truck runs on diesel. Every tractor in every field runs on diesel. Every combine harvester runs on diesel. Every refrigerated trailer keeping food cold on its way to your grocery store runs on diesel. Every freight train pulling grain cars runs on diesel. When diesel becomes scarce, trucks stop moving. When trucks stop moving, food does not get picked up from farms. It does not get delivered to processing plants. It does not get driven to distribution centers. It does not arrive in any grocery stores. This is not inflation. Inflation is when prices go up. This is when the shelves go empty because there is nothing to put on them. There is nothing to put on them because there is no fuel to move the food from where it grows and where you live. Fertilizer prices are already surging because nitrogen fertilizer production depends on natural gas and natural gas supplies through Hormuz have been cut. California nitrogen fertilizer prices have reached 450 to $575 per ton. Okay, I'll stop right there. It's pages and pages of these alarms. But until I hear from Tom who wrote this and I can look that person up, I'm going to withhold the rest of it because this document right here is the end of the United States. If I read you the whole thing,
Matthew
I need some diesel.
Joe Sutton
It's the end of the U.S. yeah, well, welcome. And I don't know if that's. Huh.
Kenny Olson
Welcome to geo.
Joe Sutton
Hi. It's a happy Monday.
Kenny Olson
Joe, that's really a heavy thing to say.
Joe Sutton
This whole thing is heavy. It's just. And then whoever wrote this is. What I'm about to show you is not speculation. It is not opinion. It is the documented source, verified trajectory of the global oil supply as it exists right now on May 8, 2026. On May 3, you can't stop reading it. It's just like. On May 3, 2026, a Hong Kong flagged tanker called the New Corolla docked at the port of Long Beach, California. It was car million barrels of Iraqi crude oil loaded at the port of Basra on February 24, four days before the US and Israel launched Operation Epic Fury against Iran and the Strait of Hormuz effectively closed. That tanker was the last one, the last oil shipment for the Middle east to reach American shores. It arrived, it unloaded, and now it is gone. Yeah.
Chris Reivers
You know, during the previous administration, we would often say when things seem to get bad, whether it was gas prices or you name the subject matter, we're almost too big to fail.
Joe Sutton
Right.
Chris Reivers
That was a common expression in GL where there's too many smart people in places to make decisions that this can't happen.
Joe Sutton
Yeah.
Chris Reivers
Don't we still kind of hold that same style?
Joe Sutton
Well, I'm glad you brought that up. I have a theory. Money you can tinker with, you can jigger. Money you can. You can jigger around oils.
John Height
Oil?
Joe Sutton
What's going to replace it?
Chris Reivers
Nothing, as Landman told us.
Joe Sutton
Well, why? You can lie to me all you want about money because I don't know you. I know if you're lying to me about oil because there won't be any. I don't know. I'll wait till Tom gets back because
Chris Reivers
I guess here's the thought I had over the weekend in talking to several people relying on the prices of diesel fuel and other matters. Is this an attempt. And I'm not blaming the administration. I'm just saying, is this an attempt to increase oil production in this country? Cause that's what.
Joe Sutton
I don't sense that.
Chris Reivers
But what other purpose would this be serving then?
Joe Sutton
What do you mean? What purpose is what serving?
Chris Reivers
Well, because we can't sustain fuel prices being this high. We want to.
Joe Sutton
Well, I think that's the point of this newsletter.
Chris Reivers
My point is then behind that there's some type of underlying thought process.
Joe Sutton
Well, I think you're making it too complicated. If that newsletter is accurate and it's written by a truck. Trustworthy, knowledgeable source. The fellow is citing facts on how complicated the closing of the strait has made this.
Kenny Olson
I just googled, can diesel and gas be made from the same barrel of oil? You with me so far?
Joe Sutton
Yeah.
Kenny Olson
Yes. Both diesel and gasoline made from the same barrel of crude oil. On average, the standard 42 gallon barrel of crude yields 19 to 20 gallons of gasoline and 11 to 12 of diesel. But I know the process for diesel is more expensive, hence the higher prices.
Joe Sutton
And then that gets into. How many refineries does this country have that are capable of keeping up with demand? I know this country has a refinery shortage. Well, let's. Let's stop.
Chris Reivers
Let's stop before we get out of our skis.
Joe Sutton
We're already over the skis.
Kenny Olson
That's an interesting question, but
Joe Sutton
this newsletter is 100% doom. And I don't know if that's. Again, I'm not questioning Lyman. I'm questioning the source of this doom letter because, well, here I'm grabbing it again in my hands.
Kenny Olson
Hold on. 131 active operating petroleum refineries.
Joe Sutton
Well, for All I know. That's enough. I don't know. But here, no matter where I pick this newsletter up and start reading, it's doom. We are not just battling oil shortages, expensive or unavailable diesel, jet fuel at insane prices, and everything else from above. Half the nation is in drought. Agriculture is getting hammered. I posted this to my readers this week on Reuters, Chicago Board of Trade Wheat and KC Wheat Futures Climate by their daily trading limits. On Tuesday, after the U.S. department of Agriculture projected the nation's harvest will drop to its lowest level since 1972. Then he goes on about wheat. Wheat goes in hundreds of products. Dutch is bread and pasta. Lots of farmers are stating they've not had enough water for it to grow. Then there's beef. The drought is killing off prairie grass, so they're buying hay bales. But those bales have gone up over 100%, forcing ranchers to sell their cattle early. This is reality. One of the smallest US herds in decades facing feed issues, while the diesel it takes to grow it and then truck it is soaring. I mean, no matter what I read in this thing, we's in bad shape.
Kenny Olson
That's probably. You know, you're right. This might be the most important problem we're facing today in the U.S. absolutely. I guarantee you you're the only radio show or show period talking about.
Joe Sutton
You need to prepare now. Not because collapse is guaranteed in every detail, but because the phys shortage is real, the timeline is fixed and the window to prepare is closing. If emergency measures work and the worst does not come, you will have extra food in your pantry and fuel in your shed. If they do not work and you did nothing, you will have neither. There's more I could write, folks, but I'm not looking to write a novel. We just saw the PPI report and inflation surged. Just wait. It will get worse. Thousands of items have petroleum in them. And if petroleum goes ballistic in price, the product goes up in price. But it's the food angle that's got me bugged the most. I swear, I promise I'll stop now till we learn who this is. I'd love to have this person on the air. Other than that, how's everything?
Matthew
Peachy on a Monday.
Kenny Olson
A lot of the farmers I know buy diesel in bulk and they settle in on a price long before it's delivered. And then they have these giant tanks at their place so they have enough diesel to say, get through the spring and then get through the fall.
Joe Sutton
Yeah, for all I know, this is B, as in B.
Kenny Olson
So I'm just crossing My fingers hoping everybody has enough fuel in their tanks to at least get the harvest in.
Joe Sutton
Well, and I think a lot of people, We're not short of people who predict doom, so. Tom, you're listening. I sent you an email. I need some dope on. On who? This, this fellow is the doom podcast. No, we're pretty much upbeat. Did you see where Kenny made the Minneapolis Times? I did not.
Kenny Olson
So did Garage Logic.
Joe Sutton
Yeah, yeah, it's great. It's great.
Matthew
Kenny under the Garage Logic umbrella.
Kenny Olson
Let's be honest.
Joe Sutton
Let's be honest.
Kenny Olson
Kenny didn't make the Times. Jay Coles did.
Joe Sutton
Okay, well, they were, they were highlighting the. The Michael Rainville visit to the Krabby Coffee shop. Yeah. Did anyone read yesterday's Sunday, Minnesota Star Tribune? I have it right here. The play story, the main story was a wonderful story. It's just five years too late, but it's everything this show has talked about for the last five years. It's great. But I have some problems with it. Not the story. I have some problems with what I learned in the story. And basically what this is is saying, yes, fraud was revealed early and nobody did anything about it. All right? So they've at least gone that far. And when I say it's five years too late, I'm, well, it is. It's just five. Because nothing's going to come of this. We've already seen that no one employed in the Walz administration has suffered any consequences that we're aware of for their behavior in allowing the fraud. But there's. And I'll cut to the chase because I read this thing and then I started making notes on the margins of the paper. I gotta turn to page nine here. Here we go. And again, what we learn is that the newspaper is acknowledging, based on their talking to people, that, yes, this fraud was well known and it was covered up. I'll cut down to start reading. The scandal was the first of several pandemic era fraud cases that triggered state and federal investigations, drew rebuke from the Trump administration and became a major political liability for Governor Tim Walz, who ended his campaign for reelection. Let me stop right there. Are we to understand that Walls, who was hell bent on maybe seeking a third term, that by saying, I will not seek a third term, is that the consequence? He's suffering for his role in this, in his eyes? Because that isn't much of a consequence.
Chris Reivers
In his eyes. Absolutely. That is.
Josh Arnold
Yep.
Kenny Olson
I think it was a preventive tactic. I think he did that to prevent further digging. You know how we like to dig up dirt when it comes to campaigns.
Joe Sutton
Then we get this paragraph. Well, no. Yes, we do. In her interview with federal agents, we're talking about somebody named Butcher. Butcher did not identify the supervisors who allegedly prevented her from investigating. She declined to name them for the Star Tribune. So one problem still weighing down this state is that these people are still refusing to name names. Now, let me tell you who Butcher is, because I think she's attempting to do the Lord's work here. Well, just bear with me. I'll find it.
Kenny Olson
She's an employee of the Minnesota Department of Education. She was interviewed at the United States Attorney's office in Minneapolis.
Joe Sutton
What's her first name?
Kenny Olson
Jeanette or Jenny Butcher.
Joe Sutton
Ok, talking to this Butcher woman. And Butcher was interviewed by federal agents. And she won't or did not identify the supervisors who prevented her from investigating.
Kenny Olson
She told investigators this in 2022. She retired in 24.
Joe Sutton
Okay. She's out of there.
Kenny Olson
Yeah.
Joe Sutton
She knows who the bad people are. She won't name them.
Kenny Olson
You would think.
Joe Sutton
Yeah. Well, we have another one that I highlighted. Department officials have said they did everything within their power to crack down on suspicious activity. Emily Buss, the department spokesperson, declined to make officials available for an interview with the Start Tribune. So what? What? Where are we? Nowhere. We're nowhere. You have people that are willing to admit. Yep. We knew about it. It was happening. We were told not to do anything about it. Well, who told you? I'm not gonna tell you. Well, then where are we?
Chris Reivers
There was a New York Post story, but there's audio associated with it and I think we could glean a lot from it. Amy Bach was naming names over the weekend, according to the New York Post.
Joe Sutton
You have the audio?
Chris Reivers
I do. It's a Fox News report.
Joe Sutton

Joe Sugiray so by my count, this is the third time in three weeks that I've been in the Twin Cities and let me tell you something, I'm really disappointed with you people. Make your neighbors jealous.
Joe Sutton
ProfessionalTurf.com all right, back to this Star Tribune story. Let me repeat. Department officials have said they did everything within their power to crack down on suspicious activity. Emily Buss, the department spokesperson, declined to make officials available for an interview. In a written response to questions, she disputed that the department that the department limited regulators oversay. She blamed legal constraints for limiting enforcement, noting that the Minnesota Court of Appeals blocked the department from barring a different nonprofit from operating in 2017. Bak and her associates in the Feeding Our Future fraud scheme used allegations of racism as a tactic throughout their criminal enterprise, buss said in the statement. She added that it was litigation and court decisions that limited the department's ability to prevent the fraud. Fraud, not fear of being called racist. So you're. I don't. Well, first of all, I don't believe. Boss, she's speaking for the governor throughout this piece, which is too long to read and I'm not going to read it. You all can read it on your own. You get the idea that they're really hiding behind fears of racism. They figured they'd get sued and be called racist if they said, hey, you're not really feeding 7,000 people a day. Well, they weren't even allowed to go. And look, they were told by superiors. They raised a flag and said, hey, do you really think so? And so, because we've been bringing this up for five years. Do you think so? And so is really feeding 7,000 kids a day at this place? Well, don't go. Look, just keep your head down.
Matthew
Keep your head down.
Joe Sutton
Keep your head down. You're not gonna look. So it's. This might be one of the best examples ever of the left treating people of color less than.
Josh Arnold
Yep.
Joe Sutton
Oh, we can't expect them to not be thieves. My God, they had an oppressed life.
Chris Reivers
But I think it's worse than that. I think it is entirely orchestrated. Did you guys see the New York Post piece? And thank you to loyal jailer Mike for alerting me to this on Saturday. There was a Post piece done and then Fox News followed up with this same report and conducted an interview. But the Minnesota mastermind of the state's massive Covid fraud claims squad member represent Ilhan Omar, was in fact in on the $250 million scam. Amy Bach, founder of the nonprofit Feeding Our Future, was convicted and she apparently was talking under.
Joe Sutton
I don't know if we have audio of that.
Chris Reivers
So this is the Fox News piece that surfaced yesterday. I don't know at what point and what show it was on, but this was a Fox News piece that aired yesterday. The reporter that was chiming in on this, her name is Alexis McAdams.
Joe Sutton
Also in Minnesota, the convicted ringleader of
Alexis McAdams
one of the state's biggest fraud schemes is speaking to Fox News from behind bars. Now, she believes, believes that the scam was no surprise to local Democratic leaders. And she's naming name and she spoke to Alexis McAdams. Hi, Alexis. Hey, Dana. Yeah, so everywhere you look in the state of Minnesota, right, there seems to be another fraud scam. So this one involves Amy Bach. She's a Minnesota woman convicted of fraud for taking taxpayer money that was meant to feed hungry kids. But listen to this Bach tells me the real issue here is the state of Minnesota, which she says kept giving scammers your taxpayer money even after they were flagged as fraudsters.
Joe Sutton
I have to believe that the governor's office and Keith Ellison's office were aware of this. They've said they were involved in helping the FBI. They've said they were made aware, but apparently I'm scary, so they couldn't do anything.
Alexis McAdams
So Bach ran this nonprofit called Feeding Our Future. You might have heard of it. It was one of dozens convicted in this $250 million scam. You can see her mug shot there. Prosecutors say this group set up sham restaurants. They pretended they were making these meals. They got paid by the state for those meals, but they just pocketed the cash. Bach, who's looking at 30 years behind bars, tells me the state signed off on those businesses, not her.
Joe Sutton
It all went through a process. They were all approved. They were all paid by the state, yet all the fingers are being pointed at me.
Alexis McAdams
And it's not just Bach. Whistleblowers told a congressional committee. Minnesota Governor Tim Walls and Attorney General Keith Ellison there ignored warnings for years as million of dollars and millions were stolen on their watch. Congress is investigating a long list of massive fraud schemes in the state. It's hard to keep up. Prosecutors say it's led to at least $9 billion in fraud. Dana. And counting Congress also asking why the attorney general there would meet with a group of Somali fraudsters which were under FBI investigation in 2021. The group can be heard in an audio clip given to us by Bach's lawyer, offering to donate to his campaign if he can help them get their funding flowing again. Ellison denies any wrongdoing here. He slammed Bach in a statement to Fox calling her a liar and manipulator, adding, now she's on a media tour to deflect her guilt onto others instead of finally taking responsibility for this fraud scheme that she ran. So we reach out to Governor Walz, too, Dana. He didn't get back to us. House Republicans say it's just getting started. They want to subpoena Walz and Ellison because they say they're responsible for ripping off American taxpayers.
Chris Reivers
Well, I know what you're going to say. You're going to say, well, we didn't learn anything new here, which I. I understand that. That's why I was telling you.
Joe Sutton
Yeah, we did.
Chris Reivers
Hang tight here. Oh, okay. Go ahead.
Joe Sutton
Well, she said she's. She thinks she has every reason to believe that Walls and Ellison were complicit
Kenny Olson
this piece in the Post is wonderful.
Joe Sutton
Yeah, you got to read this.
Chris Reivers
In fact, I'll forward it to you.
Kenny Olson
The notion that I'm personally. Well, we heard her. Heard her say that I'm personally responsible for it is so frustrating. I'm the only white person out of 80 or 90 individuals charged. I'm the only one that doesn't speak the language.
Joe Sutton
She said, well, here, you know, I'd love to make Amy the hero, too, but what Amy's doing. CYA is just covering her ass and what she's doing. And she's saying, well, look, I dreamed this thing up, but I didn't write the checks. The government wrote the checks. I'm not guilty. Yeah, you are, Amy. You dreamed it up or signed off
Matthew
on the legitimacy of the business.
Kenny Olson
She's trying to take everybody down with her.
Joe Sutton
Well, I don't blame her. She's looking at 30.
Kenny Olson
Let's do it. Because we need somebody to name names,
Chris Reivers
because wouldn't they, at some point, if it. If it is revealed that this is way, way bigger than Amy Bach, would they grant her some type of immunity for all of that pertinent information?
Joe Sutton
You know, if I. If I'm Amy, I'm. I've. I'm already gonna. I've already told you everything I know because I don't want to be in jail. So maybe she. But the only way this could be bigger than Amy is you name Walls, you name Ellison, you name Omar, which she basically did. She didn't mention Omar.
Chris Reivers
No. In this Post story that Kenny was alluding to that I mentioned at the beginning of this segment, because I guess the other thing Amy's probably gotta be worried about is Amy's gotta be looking over Amy's shoulder.
Joe Sutton
And we live in a society now where if you say that this fraud was committed by the Somalis, you're racist. Well, there's nothing racist about accusing someone of theft.
Matthew
Right.
Joe Sutton
I don't care what skin color you have, you're a thief. You're a thief. And that. And I can see if you read this star tribunal story, the whole tone of it throughout was that these. These people who work for Department of Human Services, they work for the Department of Education. They've been inundated. They probably spend a lot of their working days going to seminars or they have to watch DEI videos, and they have consultants come in and tell them that they. They have an obligation to raise up the oppressed and on and on and on and on. So they're walking on eggs that some of them are going, well, yeah, okay, but wait a minute. We're being lied to. They claim that this little storefront in Minneapolis, they're feeding 7,000 kids a day that don't go, look, don't, don't let's. Happening. That's what's happening. Because they've all swallowed this BS that they've been fed over the years and it's beyond wokeism. They're brain damaged from all the BS they had to put up with. And now if somebody comes in, they happen to be black, they're stealing all this money. These people are petrified. They don't know what the hell to do, so they're frozen in place. They said, well, we raised the issue. We told our superiors, but we were told, don't even bother to go check that. Stay put. Stay in your cubicle. Because at one o' clock today we have another video conference with a consultant from Cincinnati who's gonna tell us why we should be kindhearted. We've been screwed and we're not getting anywhere because nobody will name the names. I'm rooting for Bach to start singing
Chris Reivers
like a canary in this New York Post report. Let me just read this part. Ilhan Omar has been under fire since her wealth mysteriously jumped from almost nothing to $30 million in 2024, a windfall she tried to chalk up to an accounting year. The congresswoman's name came up at least six different times in emails and text messages presented as court exhibits in Bak's 2025 federal trial. According to Bak, the six email exchanges with Omar were about help with the waivers after feeding her future reached out to the representative's office. The waivers opened the floodgates for scores of Somali eateries to join in. Like Safari, as we mentioned, where Omar herself filmed a promotional video claiming every day Safari provides 2,300 meals to children and their families in May of 2020.
Joe Sutton
She had to know that was not plausible.
Kenny Olson
We aired that film on Krabby. That's exactly what I wanted to read. Chris. That. That's damning evidence right there.
Chris Reivers
Here's the home run sentence. She also, Joe, held her 2018 election night party there.
Joe Sutton
Yeah, yeah. At the safari. Yeah, yeah. Because if you want to advance in the political world in Minneapolis and you're a Somali, you got to go through the safari. We've been told that.
Kenny Olson
Does that reek of organized crime?
Joe Sutton
God almighty.
Matthew
I'd love to know what they served that night for food.
Kenny Olson
You've got to go down to Satriale if you want an okay. Right, Right. That's right out of the Sopranos.
Joe Sutton
I don't know what it will take to open the eyes of Minnesotans, but we have been robbed. We have been thoroughly robbed.
Chris Reivers
And when the likes of Omar are asked to provide information to either help this investigation or help clear her name and she refuses. I'm sorry, in my opinion, you're guilty then. Well, if you've got nothing to hide, why wouldn't you?
Kenny Olson
I would be at every single meeting. Yes, it was my name. I would be at every meeting.
Joe Sutton
Ilhan is a very, very clever woman. And no one has used the racism club as the club, meaning like a baseball bat more effectively than Ilhan.
Chris Reivers
No question. By the way, I forgot to hit this. I'm sorry.
Joe Sutton
Here is your latest Ilhan Omar. If you dare question Ilhan Omar about anything. She doesn't like the question. You're a racist. Duh. So it's going to be a. She's a tough nut to crack. She's a very clever woman. But the facade is beginning to crack here. There's not a way in hell that she's not, however, allegedly involved. But it's a tremendous piece. Again, it's tremendous, but unfortunately it's way too late. It's nothing we haven't been saying for the last five years. And the holdup now is that these honest souls, the honest souls who do work, the Fay Bernstein, for example, these honest souls who've worked there and have tried to blow the whistle, they've gotten nowhere. And I can't explain to you why they won't tell us names. Their 60 grand a year job in a cubicle can't be worth withholding names. I just don't get it. I just don't get it.
Chris Reivers
What if Ilhan's office, I mean, are
Joe Sutton
they fear for their lives?
Chris Reivers
Yes.
Kenny Olson
I would at least want to know, like in the case of Jenny Butcher, who we talked about a little bit earlier, I at least want to know who the supervisors were. Who are the people that were telling her?
Joe Sutton
They were literally told, do not go to a site.
Kenny Olson
I at least want those names.
Joe Sutton
Yeah, come on.
Chris Reivers
What if Ilhan comes out and says, you know what? It wasn't me or my office that was in on the food front. It was the attacker that sprayed me with apple cider vinegar.
Joe Sutton
Yeah, because that wasn't a scam at all.
Matthew
No, not at all.
Joe Sutton
Again, we think it is, but then how did you find a guy willing to be prosecuted for that?
Chris Reivers
Same guy that posed with the photo for.
Joe Sutton
I'm not going there.
Chris Reivers
I'm Just not. Okay, okay, fine.
Kenny Olson
I like that angle, but I'm not going.
Joe Sutton
No. I want to be so done with this. I know that sounds silly because I talk about it so much, but that's
Chris Reivers
what they want, though. They want us to stop talking about this.
Joe Sutton
I know, and I really do because I think we've gone about as far as we can. Ilhan Omar has been invited on this show once a week for five years. She's not ever coming on.
Chris Reivers
I think she'll be on the day after. Amy Klobuchar.
Kenny Olson
You know, a nice tie in. If you want to do Author's Corner, the Camp of Saints. Do you want to mention that or not?
Joe Sutton
Well, we have a mutual friend at G eler who sent me a video over the weekend of a woman talking about a book called the Camp of Saints, which apparently has been banned. Maybe now is not banned.
Kenny Olson
Correct. It was. Amazon took it off its list, but then after protests, they put it back on.
Joe Sutton
And it was written by a French author in 1973, Jean Respall. Okay. And he creates a novel that has turned out to be so entirely prophetic that it's upsetting people. And in 1973, that's 53 years ago. Is that right? Is the math right? 53 years ago, he created this story of freighters full of African immigrants coming to France and what effect that had on the country. And of course, in 1973, that wasn't true. There wasn't this incredible influx of migrants that there is today. But he saw this country. Well, it's kind of like the books I've always told you to read by Robert Frigno about Muslims. Anyway, he writes this book, and it's terribly dystopian, very eerie and frightening. And this YouTube clip that I was sent is a woman who essentially is reviewing the book, and she likes it. She's telling us why this book is important, and she's contesting that it should never have been banned. Well, it's probably being. The people who hate it most are the people who've allowed this mass migration into France and the toll it's now taking today. And this guy called it in 1973. And I told my friend who emailed me this, I want to read it. I want to see what the fuss is about.
Kenny Olson
It's called the Camp of Saints. If you're from Douglas County. County. The name is Gene Raspail. But Matthew, you know French, I would say that's Jean Raspel.
Joe Sutton
How do you spell Raspail?
Kenny Olson
R A, S, P A, I, L.
Matthew
Gotta roll that arm.
Chris Reivers
Hey, Bernie, grab one of them raspails
Joe Sutton
and get on in here. You gotta get a rat. Come on down.
Kenny Olson
I seen that book Gene Raspail wrote.
Joe Sutton
I should say rip. Hey, you want a truck, you're working, you need trucks. Rosedale, Chev. Holy mackerel. Do they have the inventory? Watch and see the difference. Only on five Eyewitness News.
Kenny Olson
That was nobody.
Joe Sutton
This guy wears many hats.
Chris Reivers
Just not indoors.
Joe Sutton
Joe Sushere.
Kenny Olson
Matthew, how many trucks do I have in my garage?
Joe Sutton
Three each. Three? Why?
Matthew
I don't know.
Kenny Olson
Each truck has four doors.
Joe Sutton
What's that?
Kenny Olson
Four times?
Joe Sutton
Turn around 12, right?
Kenny Olson
Then you add one service door in the garage. Now, how many hinges is that? 14 times 2 is 32. Plus 2 on 34 hinges in one day.
Chris Reivers
Sick brag, bro.
Matthew
Can't do it.
Kenny Olson
I just want to know. I did 42 hinges in one. Did I say 42? How many did you do with Deep?
Matthew
I was only tasked with doing one because it was creepy, creaky. And I ended up doing about 17 doors inside. I went through every single door. Sliding doors, pocket doors, they're all.
Kenny Olson
Just grab a towel and carry it with you.
Matthew
You have to. You have to so it doesn't drip down. It's my greatest invention.
Kenny Olson
And you won't hear a squeak ever again.
Matthew
I haven't.
Kenny Olson
Do we have to say anything else?
Matthew
No, we're done.
Joe Sutton
Deep Creek.
Matthew
Why wouldn't you have it?
Kenny Olson
Let's just give the locations away. Fleet Farms. Have you heard of Farm Fleets? They have them. The fine automotive chemical. Heidelson Auto parts store. It's really destroying.
Matthew
Except for all of our dyslexic friends.
Kenny Olson
It's try.
Joe Sutton
It's.
Kenny Olson
It's hard to do an ad when Joe's over there grimacing. And I'm not grimacing.
Joe Sutton
You always get mad at me if I say anything. I'm not gonna say a word.
Matthew
When you're just getting to the beef of it. And he's like this. Wrap it up.
Kenny Olson
You know what? Gee, Alders, you'll find all the fantastic sea foam products somewhere. If I had more time, I'd tell
Matthew
you it's deep creep, baby.
Chris Reivers
Yeah.
Kenny Olson
Okay, Joe.
Joe Sutton
John Height is in his remote newsroom.
John Height
Yo, Kenny. Thank you.
Joe Sutton
You.
John Height
Since you didn't have enough time, I will also add. And we've talked about this. Every spring I take my locks on my fences and I can't open them because Winter. It's made you spray a little deep creep and boom.
Kenny Olson
You know what? I use them on my paddle locks.
John Height
That's mine are paddle locks also.
Joe Sutton
There's no such thing as a paddle lock.
John Height
Yeah, I got three paddle locks.
Joe Sutton
It's padlocks.
John Height
My three fence gates have paddle locks.
Joe Sutton
No, they don't. They have padlocks.
Matthew
I think in rural America, they have paddle locks.
Josh Arnold
Yeah.
John Height
Can two guys catch the same fish, Kenny? All right, let's get to this news brought to you by North American Banking,
Joe Sutton
a bunch of illiterate rubes. You've seen them? Yeah.
John Height
North American Banking company brings you this news.
Joe Sutton
Did you look up that book, John?
John Height
I did. It seems to be favorite with white nationalist groups, also quoted regularly by Stephen Miller, which, you know, take that for record, man.
Joe Sutton
Never mind. It's a Trump book.
John Height
View is on Steven.
Joe Sutton
The Trump book. Just let it go.
John Height
Oh, now, now. Joe's fishing, Kenny.
Kenny Olson
Yeah, he is.
John Height
Local news Lawmakers have passed all the legislation they reached in agreement on with Governor Walls last Wednesday. However, they needed almost every minute up to the midnight deadline last night to pass a legislation that will impact millions of Minnesota taxpayers. State lawmakers in and out of floor sessions between noon and midnight yesterday. Earlier in the day, they passed several bills aimed at preventing fraud, as well as bills related to commerce, education, cannabis and other areas. Both the House and Senate also passed another anti fraud bill, this one requiring more electronic visit verification or EVV for Medicaid programs, especially those services for disabled Minnesotans who receive care at home. The package also includes $205 million in funding to shore up HCMC's finances this year and a 500 million reserve account that HCMC and other distressed hospitals and health systems can draw from in future years. There's also that 254 million to reduce license tab rates for one year, bringing down tab fees due after January 1, 2027. That money would be included as a part of cash and borrowing bonding bills totaling $1.2 billion. Most of the money will go to infrastructure projects across the state, including water treatment facilities, highways and bridges, and funding for higher ed packages. A tax bill also sailed through Both chambers, including $125 million in property tax relief. It's funded through homestead tax credits capped at household income levels, so not all Minnesotans will see any relief in that area. All the legislation passed now goes to Governor Walz. Although legislation had to pass by midnight last night, the session will continue today. The House and Senate are holding ceremonial sessions so that dozens of retiring lawmakers can give Their farewell speeches. A 72 year old Chicago county man is facing attempted murder charges after authorities say he tried to kill his wife with a hammer before being interrupted by an Amazon delivery driver. James Allen Johnson of Wyoming, Minnesota was taken into custody following the incident, which police say was fueled by looming financial ruin. Police officers responded to the couple's home on May 11 following a 911 call. According to Chisago county court documents, the caller was an Amazon delivery driver who was dropping a package off at the couple's home. He reported hearing frantic screaming. He looked inside the home and saw a woman covered in blood and a man holding a hammer. The driver entered the home, told the suspect to drop the hammer before he called 91 1. When officers arrived, they found the victim bleeding heavily from her head, arms and her hands. The victim told police she was only able to get him off her by kicking him in. The groom Johnson later told detectives his business was facing financial collapse. He claimed that the impending financial crisis would leave his wife forced to live off reduced Social Security benefits, he said to spare her from the financial hardship. He admitted he had been planning to kill her for several days. He's being held at the Chicago county
Joe Sutton
well, here's what needs to be noted. That's one hell of a Amazon driver because a lot of people would have said I didn't see anything and just left. Left. Good for him. He did what he should have done.
Matthew
That's called engagement.
Joe Sutton
That's right. Thank you.
Kenny Olson
Unfortunately, he was fired later that day.
Joe Sutton
Probably. No, I'm sure he wasn't. I hope not. I hope not.
John Height
The Stewart Trail fire, which is now estimated at 355 acres, allegedly started by a power line, according to Minnesota Incident Command System. The wildfire, located about 3 miles north of Two Harbors, is now now 62% contained, according to officials. Ops this weekend, which contributed to the containment, included creating a two blade wide dozer line on the western side of the fire and a cold trail around the southern side. Water and fire retardant drops from the aircraft also help douse the fire and slow the spread. Those airdrops will continue today as work to strengthen existing continental efforts such as the dozer line continues. Meanwhile, over the weekend, the National Guard was mobilized to help with wildfire efforts in northern Minnesota. And one side note, a firefighting plane was hit by what appears to be a bullet Friday night.
Joe Sutton
Great. We're shooting at the planes.
John Height
According to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, investigators say the plane was hit by the bullet after scooping water from Joested Lake in Portage Township at around seven in the evening. When the plane returned to the Hibbing Airport, officials realized it had been hit. The plane landed safely and the pilot was not injured. Anyone with info is asked to call 91 1.
Joe Sutton
Well, do we know, did this area get any of this rain last night that St. Paul didn't? We had five minutes of rain. There was no storm. But did they get any. They get any rain up north? Do we know that? We don't find out. Please.
Matthew
I'm looking right now.
Chris Reivers
So it was a power line, not climate change, like everyone online was suggesting over the weekend.
Matthew
Most of the weather came up from the south.
Joe Sutton
Thank you.
Matthew
So I don't think it reached you guys.
Joe Sutton
There was no nothing in St. Paul. We had five minutes of a good rain. That was it.
Kenny Olson
Did you see where the plane was hit?
Joe Sutton
Yeah, I couldn't tell from the picture
Kenny Olson
where that was hitting the tail.
Joe Sutton
Okay.
Kenny Olson
What does that tell you?
Joe Sutton
I don't know.
Kenny Olson
He wasn't leading it far enough.
Joe Sutton
He was going for the pilot and he missed.
Kenny Olson
Did you see the photo of the exit wound, though?
Joe Sutton
No.
Kenny Olson
That was a big round, whatever it was.
Joe Sutton
Geez.
Chris Reivers
Are you suggesting.
Joe Sutton
Are you thinking. Are you thinking it was done on purpose?
Kenny Olson
Yeah, I'm thinking it was done on purpose.
Joe Sutton
Yes, absolutely.
John Height
The other story I read about, it said the plane was flying fairly low, so it obviously to fight the fire. So it was fairly close to the treetops.
Kenny Olson
It's interesting you brought that up, Chris. That was my first. My first. The first thing that popped in my head, that it's such a big round, it almost seemed like a shotgun slug, but I don't know.
Chris Reivers
And if he was flying that low to the ground, that seems plausible, right?
Joe Sutton
Any rain up there?
Kenny Olson
No, but again, I don't know.
Matthew
Not enough to put the fires out, let's put it that way.
Joe Sutton
You know, that fire is. It's really in the heart of cabin country. It really is. Just north of Mille Lacs. Crosby Aiken. Right in there.
Kenny Olson
Everything between Mille Lacs and. Yeah, Brad.
Joe Sutton
Yeah.
Chris Reivers
You know, I'm a little disappointed in you two. You've been working together a long time, and you asked him about the rain pattern with a certain area of the state, and he's wearing a globe shirt where he could have pointed out kind
Joe Sutton
of where the rain.
Matthew
Right by that left nipple, because I got it here underneath the left nipple.
Kenny Olson
And then it came up by that volcano.
Joe Sutton
Yep.
Matthew
Mount Everest is saying the turkey is done.
John Height
Law enforcement.
Kenny Olson
It's a lot of hair on mountain.
Chris Reivers
It really Is there really is a
Matthew
lot of hair on Mount Everest.
Joe Sutton
Do you ever.
Chris Reivers
When you're wearing that shirt at the
Matthew
airport, I get nothing but compliments.
Chris Reivers
Going up to a fellow passenger and he and his beloved might be flying to Tahiti and say, hey, where are you folks heading?
Josh Arnold
Right.
Joe Sutton
I think that's a delightful shirt to wear at an airport.
Matthew
It is, but most people walk away briskly.
Joe Sutton
Well, they probably fear.
Matthew
Yeah, they don't want to engage.
Joe Sutton
Right.
Matthew
Don't go to the guy with the map on his shirt.
John Height
I see Rook is kind of a curly from the Street Stooges. Oh, you going here?
Matthew
Touch above the belly button.
John Height
Law enforcement across the state.
Joe Sutton
Ticket below. Okay. Surprise. We get. I'm going with you. Okay, we get it.
Matthew
Okay, Got it.
Chris Reivers
Joe, where do you want to fly next? We point to the map.
Joe Sutton
I was just in.
Matthew
I was trying to get him to go down south, but he wouldn't.
Joe Sutton
U.S. where's the U.S. here, I got
Matthew
your U.S. radio U.S. you want the
Joe Sutton
U.S. no, I don't want you.
John Height
Law enforcement across Minnesota.
Joe Sutton
Who in the hell would wear a map?
Matthew
I got Cuba just around the corner. Hang on.
Chris Reivers
Looks like you dropped something, sir.
Joe Sutton
Yes, John.
John Height
Law enforcement around the State ticketed about 5,500 motorists for violating state law during the April Distracted Driving Awareness Month. Mike Hanson's the director of the Department of Public Safety's Office of Traffic Safety, said too many drivers are still choosing distractions over safety.
Kenny Olson
It's so bad.
John Height
Since 2019, Minnesota laws prohibited drivers from holding electronic devices to make calls, send text messages, read emails, or engage in social media while behind the wheel. Yet a lot of motorists aren't heeding the message. State troopers last year issued more than 15,500 citations for distracted driving, a 13.6% increase over the previous year, according to DPS.
Chris Reivers
So wait, John, are you trying to suggest that we passed a law and people aren't abiding by that law?
John Height
2019, Chris. So seven years ago.
Chris Reivers
I'm stunned by that revelation.
Joe Sutton
The problem is very quiet traffic today.
Kenny Olson
Very quiet in Minnesota. The fine for the first distracted driving offense is $50 plus a mandatory $75 surcharge charge totaling around 125 to $135. More offenses increased to 275 base a total payment of over 350. That's the problem right there.
Joe Sutton
Well, I'd make the first fine $5,000.
Kenny Olson
Easy.
Joe Sutton
Easy.
Kenny Olson
Yeah. Yep.
Joe Sutton
Second one, 10,000.
Kenny Olson
Take away your driving privileges for six months.
John Height
There you go.
Chris Reivers
And the other part, Ken is when it's. The traffic is worse. Rush hour. That's when people text more because they think they're driving slower. I could get away with it more now because I'm not going as fast as I normally would.
Kenny Olson
Meanwhile, everybody speeds up. But you're still on the phone doing 40.
Chris Reivers
Yep.
Joe Sutton
Yeah, I saw a very odd driving incident. As long as it's coming up. A woman tried to pull into a parking spot that clearly was meant to be parallel parked, but she went in nose first.
Josh Arnold
Oh.
Joe Sutton
And that required her to begin a series of of gymnastic moves to back the car out. Now it's blocking both lanes of the street and she's not really grasping the idea that to start with, lady, you needed to back it in. Sure. So I did get around her because I didn't want to wait to see what happened.
Chris Reivers
Oh, you didn't want to nestle in.
Joe Sutton
She might still be doing it for us.
Matthew
A phone video.
Kenny Olson
Was she born and raised in St. Paul, Gale?
Joe Sutton
No, she had the full costume on.
Chris Reivers
Were the four ways going too? They got the four ways going.
Joe Sutton
No, no, no blinker or anything. She just kind of didn't occur to her that it won't work to drive in forward. You gotta kind of back her in there and she might still be wrestling with that.
Chris Reivers
Well, you only think that because clearly you're racist.
Joe Sutton
I am. I'm terribly racist.
John Height
Why don't we take a break here and hear from Mr. Weavers.
Chris Reivers

Chris Reivers
i'm not ending it yet. Ken, can you turn around who did their video that we're seeing on YouTube?
Kenny Olson
That's cool.
Chris Reivers
That drone work on this video is so freaking cool.
Kenny Olson
Yeah. Wow.
Chris Reivers
Yeah, I was mesmerized.
Kenny Olson
Drone work has really changed almost every sporting event there is. Yes, it's amazing.
Chris Reivers
100%. You saw it in full force at the Olympics.
Kenny Olson
Yeah.
Chris Reivers
The downhill skiers and whatnot.
Joe Sutton
Did a drone capture. Anthony Edwards congratulating the spurs with seven minutes left.
Matthew
I think it was a drone. It was way up high in the rafter.
Chris Reivers
You know where you did get it, though? How about that sweet aerial shot of the save in the gold medal hockey game? Wasn't that done by Jerome?
Joe Sutton
I have no idea. You.
Chris Reivers
We talked about it at length in the show.
Joe Sutton
I forgot.
Chris Reivers
Okay, next topic.

John Height
this morning, the Justice Department announced the creation of a 1.776 billion dollar fund to compensate President Donald Trump's allies who claim they were unfairly targeted.
Joe Sutton
Hey, I'm pro Trump, I want my money administration.
John Height
It's an unprecedented move that would allow the president's administration to pay his supporters from a government.
Joe Sutton
He's not a thief, though, is he?
John Height
From a government agency that he controls with taxpayer money. It's a creation. Comes as Trump drops this morning his $10 billion lawsuit alleging the IRS failed to protect Trump and the Trump Organization from an unauthorized leak of their. Trump himself will not receive any payments. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink. But he will receive a formal apology, according to the Justice Department. In January, Trump, along with his sons, sued the IRS and Treasury Department for the $10 billion. Soon after that lawsuit was brought, the federal judge presiding over the case, Kathleen Williams, expressed skepticism that it was the kind of legitimate legal dispute that belonged in her courthouse. She asked a group of outside lawyers to brief her on the question. They, too, raised concern about the propriety of a president seeking monetary damages for personal reasons against a government agency that he was running. Minutes after Trump's legal team notified the court he's dropping the case. This morning, nearly 100 House Democrats submitted a friend of the court brief accusing Trump of blatant self dealing. So all of this comes before the judge's deadline. By two days, Trump's own Justice Department agreeing to pay out almost $2 billion settlement.
Joe Sutton
That's unconscionable. I heard something so corrupt that it's just unbelievable.
Kenny Olson
Heard something really fascinating over the weekend. Evidently, in Gumption county and the community of Garage Logic, there is a movement of foot to change the name of Spoon Lake to Trump Lake. And almost all of the residents are behind this.
Matthew
Very little.
Kenny Olson
There is, however, one little support group that meets twice a week, I think, in the cellar of the knack to try to work through their angst and preservation.
Joe Sutton
Well, the people who think Trump's an actual functioning human being have Trump derangement syndrome.
Kenny Olson
G elers, you're welcome. I got them for you. G ers.
John Height
Well, never mind.
Kenny Olson
I'm not happy until Joe says that and then we can move on.
Joe Sutton
If you think he's a functioning, honest, good man, you've. You have trumped arrangements.
Kenny Olson
G ellers, you're welcome.
Joe Sutton
Thank you. G Elders.
John Height
Yeah, after I got him for.
Kenny Olson
Go ahead, John.
John Height
Never mind. I'm just going to move along here.
Kenny Olson
Go ahead.

The competitive Republican primary race for Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy's seat is headed to a runoff election. Cassidy, though, will not be moving on in the election. A challenger endorsed by President Trump, Louisiana Representative Jula Letlow, secured the largest share of the vote, underlining the president's influence. State Treasurer John Fleming came in second. Second. As neither Letlow nor Fleming garnered more than 50% of the votes. They're now set to face off at a runoff next month. Cassidy's third face. Third place finish, meanwhile, means the end of his bid for a third term in the Senate. In an election night speech, Cassidy did not directly mention the president, but he appeared to allude to Trump and in particular his false claims that the 2020 election was stolen from him. Cassidy saying, when you participate in democracy, sometimes it doesn't turn out the way you want it to. But you, you don't pout, you don't whine, you don't claim the election was stolen. You don't find a reason why you lost. You thank the voters for the privilege of representing the state or the country for as long as you've had that privilege. And that's what I'm doing right now. Eyes now turn to tomorrow's primary in Kentucky. Representative Thomas Massie is set to face off against Trump backed challenger Ed Gallerain in the Republican primary for Kentucky's 4th congressional district next week, and polls show a close race for the solidly conservative seat. Massie is one of the most conservative members of Congress, but he has been at odds with President Trump over foreign policy and the handling of the Epstein files. The clash, amplified by the involvement of wealthy conservative donors, highlights what political watchers see as a deeper struggle over the future direction of the Republican Party in the United States. A proposal to fund $1 billion in security additions for the White House campus and the president's new ballroom fails to meet procedural rules, according to the Senate parliamentarian. Dealing a blow to Republican plans to include it as part of a bill to fund immigration enforcement agencies for the next three years. The parliamentarians ruling described late Saturday night by Senate Democrats, said the funding for a project as large and complex as the East Wing renovation is too broad to be included in the narrow GOP budget bill. For their part, Republicans said Saturday night they'll try and revise the legislation based on the advice from the parliament. Parliamentarian. Parliamentarian. Parliamentarian.
Kenny Olson
We knew what you meant.
Matthew
Yeah, I got it.
John Height
Our plague style illness update. You're right. We got a couple.
Kenny Olson
Oh, this is a fun segment.
John Height
We got a couple of things going on. Yeah. An Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Joe Sutton
Major, that's dengue.
John Height
Uganda is a public health concern, according to the World health organization. The WHO making its declaration after 88 deaths and more than than 300 suspected cases linked to the outbreak of the Bunda boy Gho virus. But first prompting Africa's top health official to say he's on panic mode. Dr. Tedros Gabriellas, the director general of WHO, announced the decision before convening a formal emergency committee at the organization. The Bunda Bugoyo virus, one of three strains that can cause Ebola virus disease and the least common. And there are no. No approved vaccines or treatments for this strain or any specific testing.
Joe Sutton
Great.
Matthew
Give me the cartoon bubble of the Bungo de Boyo virus waiting room. Maybe not.
Joe Sutton
Maybe don't. Keep it to yourself.
Matthew
Keep it to yourself, please.
Kenny Olson
Are there farm animals in there?
John Height
Meanwhile, the MV Hondius cruise ship associated with that recent hantavirus outbreak arrives in the Netherlands today for its final stop. The remaining crew and medical staff will disembark for quarantine and the ship will be disinfected. The ship left Argentina April 1, carrying 147 people from 23 countries and some of the world's most remote islands. On April 11, Dutch bird watcher Leo Schilberd died of what was later determined to be hantavirus, followed by his wife about two weeks later. Right now, there's two cases associated with the outbreak, eight confirmed and two suspected. Antivirus is not believed to pose a widespread threat to public health. Cruise ships might be especially conducive, though, to the spread of the illness due to the gathering of travelers from diverse regions, close eating and sleeping quarters, and potential exposure to local diseases.
Joe Sutton
That seems like a unique case, though that wasn't one of Those diarrhea cruises. This was an expensive smaller boat that was leading a very exotic adventure.
Matthew
But you know, with cruises there's always, you know, nighttime entertainment. They may do a show or have a singer out there that didn't sound
Joe Sutton
like that type of crew.
Matthew
Do you think that performer was kind of just, you know, really. I can't do hentavirus jokes. We can't do a dance where I'm pretty much just gonna do nothing for the rest of the cruise.
Joe Sutton
There was a cruise I would have gone on, let's put it that way. I ain't going on many cruises, but that one sounded really interesting.
Matthew
I think you saw some neat stuff. Yeah.
John Height
Tough deal for some monkeys here. A Colombian couple allegedly strapped three baby monkeys to their underpants.
Matthew
No.
John Height
In a twisted bit to smuggle them into the Dominican Republic. One of the terrified primates suffocated and died.
Joe Sutton
Oh, you got a monkey in your pants. Dead monkey. Dead monkey in your pants.
John Height
It's a band name right there.
Joe Sutton
A dead monkey in your pants. Pants.
John Height
It's their new single. The unidentified 27 year old woman and 26 year old man were busted at Cartagena's Rafael Nunez International Airport after stunned authorities discovered the monkeys, two white faced capuchins and a howler monkey stuffed in their underpants.
Joe Sutton
Who thought that'd be a smart idea?
Matthew
It's never gonna play out.
Joe Sutton
Never works out.
Matthew
Gonna play out.
John Height
The capuchin survived the trek, but the howler suffocated inside the clothing of one of the people. Police say the animal died in conditions we can only describe as inhumane. Harrowing footage showed the two surviving primates sleeping while clinging to a teddy bear and a towel. Other clips while.
Joe Sutton
How big were these people?
John Height
The people were normal size, but the monkeys. I saw pictures are very tiny.
Joe Sutton
Very tiny. There's a lot of lumpage there. I mean. Yeah, yeah. You got a tail sticking out your zipper.
Chris Reivers
Oh, go ahead, John.
John Height
Why would people do this sort of thing? Those monkeys reportedly worth over $1.4 million on the global black why?
Joe Sutton
For medicinal purposes.
Matthew
But they were trying to get into.
John Height
The Dominican duo was charged with illegal exploitation of natural resources and wildlife trafficking. They face up to 11 years behind bars if convicted.
Joe Sutton
I hope they get behind bars. See how they like it.
Kenny Olson
Are they used for romantic person.
Joe Sutton
I wonder why a monkey would be worth that much money. We ain't short of monkeys.
Matthew
What's the old joke about the guy that was? We don't know. We don't know that semi truck and he had a pet monkey hitchhiker hey
Chris Reivers
John, back to the, the the who story that you're mentioning. You know what the sound that person makes when they get infected by the Bunga Bunga virus.
Joe Sutton
No. What is it? John? Thank you.
John Height
Can't play those.
Joe Sutton
I'm sorry. Thank you.
John Height
You're welcome.
Joe Sutton
I looked at my garage door over the weekend, did a little cleaning and I was not pleased because I had an early generation epoxy floor, not the current stuff put in by Installed Building Solutions. They've got it down to a perfected art because Installed Building Solutions uses a polyurethane polyure garage floor. That's the modern technology. It's not like the old stuff. It doesn't peel, it doesn't crack when the temperatures swing. And they can do these floors in most floors in one day. So you get your garage back fast and all the regular attributes of an epoxy floor apply. Of course they're easy to clean and easy to maintain. And the finish stays bright. Bright and clean looking. And you can drop a tool on there and not worry about it. But here's the best part. Slip resistant texture adds traction, especially during wet Minnesota winters. As a fellow who's gone down a few times on the garage floor, I really appreciate that one. A coated garage floor not only looks better, it just feels better. It's cleaner and brighter and more finished every time you walk in into it. These are from Installed Building Solutions. I met with these people, they've got this figured out. These are wonderful, wonderful garage floors. Go to ibscoding.com or I'm going to give you a telephone number too. IBS coding 612-282-8578.

Here's North American Banking Company to invest into your success, individual, family, business, it doesn't matter because in 1998 they made a promise to deliver a better banking experience for you and for everybody inside their communities that they deal with every single day. Because they have six convenient Twin Cities locations to serve you. It's Roseville, 50th in France, Woodbury, Hastings, Shoreview and also in Maple Grove. They handle all different types of banking. It doesn't matter what you're looking to do, whether it's buying a new home, financing new home renovation project or get that new car that you've been thinking about. Or you know what? Hey, if you're thinking about starting a business, have a conversation with my friends at North American Banking company because they deal with numbers every single day. But you are never going to be one of them. And they are locally owned and operated. So that means all of those loan decisions are made right here in the Twin Cities, not sent out of state. But see it for yourself. Nabakeco.com to learn more. Once again, it's banking done differently. North American Banking company member FDIC is an equal housing lender.

Joe the scroll is running Ramsey, Richmond, Rockford, Rockville, Rose Creek, Sauk Center, Spicer, Spring Grove, spring Lake Park, St. Francis. And on it goes with all of the towns and cities of Minnesota flying, identifying the true flag. And we begin today's flag update with a question. Hail the flashlight King. Hail you. To be honest, I never paid attention until they forced that fraud flag on us. I ordered one from Amazon. I think he means the old flag and on one side the word Minnesota is reversed as if looking in a mirror. My question is, is that normal on a two sided state flag or should Minnesota be on the right way on both sides? Both sides? I don't know the answer to that. I've never noticed it. Well here, look it up. Check it, check it here, check it here, check it out here. Can you see this on the tv? Minnesota. Oh, it's not, it's only one way. Yeah, it's upside down.
Kenny Olson
It's upside down.
Joe Sutton
No, it is.
Kenny Olson
Oh no, it's not upside down.
Joe Sutton
It's just back. Well, I guess that's the way it is.
Kenny Olson
I think I'm upside down.
Joe Sutton
No, wait, no, hang on.
Kenny Olson
Oh, this is thicker.
Matthew
This is thicker.
Joe Sutton
That's a nicer one. Does that help you Mike, in new I. I don't know what to tell
Kenny Olson
you that for this year the. This is a big celebratory year for the 250. Kenny, for that flag, that big cage
Joe Sutton
match coming up, we're gonna have a
Kenny Olson
circle of stars and then Trump's face is going to be in the middle. Good, that's gonna be fun.
Matthew
Do we got a 250 years UFC fight coming up?
Joe Sutton
Yeah. Okay. Joe, a lifetime listener. Thank you for all the years. Just wanted to let you know that the city council of Hamburg has voted to fly the true flag. I'm sure your attention to this issue helped the tide turn. So we'll add. I'm saving this pile for our flag guy when he gets back from Italy. So Hamburg is flying the true flag.
Chris Reivers
Is the city flag flag filing system going to be very similar to the previous Joe ads filing system?
Joe Sutton
Yeah, yeah.
Matthew
What does the phrase Hamburg remind you of?
Joe Sutton
Hamburger. Yes. Where was that we were driving in upstate New York.
Matthew
Thank you. Thank you. Going to Kirby's, Cooperstown. And the guy in New York was
Joe Sutton
like their version of CCO was on the radio. And it was pretty fun.
Josh Arnold
City of Hamburg.
Joe Sutton
Is that where hamburgers came? That's where they got hamburgers so bad. Okay, guys, this last Sunday, I accompany my mom to visit the cemetery in Millville, Minnesota. Just happened to notice all the true Minnesota flags flying at the post office bank, at American Legion buildings. I'm a former resident of Millville. Just saying unofficially that the true flag is flying. That's good enough for us.
Kenny Olson
Quiz for you, Joe. What is Millville known for on a national level?
Joe Sutton
Milling.
Kenny Olson
No, Got it. Spring Creek Motocross Park.
Joe Sutton
I didn't know that. Didn't have it, Joe. I wanted to share that. Parker's Prairie, Minnesota is proudly flying the real flag, not the fraud flag. Pushing back from up North, Erick. So there's three new additions today. Isn't that fantastic?
Matthew
We'll put the kid back on it when he gets.
Kenny Olson
Parker's is already on the scroll.
Joe Sutton
Well, peas are coming up here on the scroll. Let's look. We're at Hill City, Invert Grove, Vicente County, Jackson City, Janesville, Kilkenny. Okay. Oh, here's the L's. Center, Lester, Prairie.
Kenny Olson
Two hours late.
Joe Sutton
Lonsdale, Manerville, Managa.
Kenny Olson
Can I get the time and temp there?
Matthew
Hey, what about McGrath and Moose Lake? Are they up there?
Joe Sutton
Yeah, but I'm North Branch. Norwood Young America. Here was Red O's, Oak Grove, Osakis, Paynesville, Payson Piers, uh, oh, Pine Island.
Kenny Olson
Appear to be on there.
Joe Sutton
Pine River. I shouldn't. Plainview.
Kenny Olson
You know what I did, Joe Proctor.
Joe Sutton
I blurted only because they come to us all the way from the traveling linemans who are back in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. We gotta have men. We gotta have men. All right, I have.
Chris Reivers
I have the Lyman's number.
Joe Sutton
Well, and get ahold of them and do it and arrange it like you're supposed to. Now, on this day, are they here yet? On this day, did they answer yet?
Matthew
Yeah. Where are they?
Chris Reivers
May 18th.
Joe Sutton
In 1905, five doctors at St. Paul's Anchor Hospital striked to protest the tyrannical ways of Hospital director Dr. Arthur Anker, who had suspended Dr. William Frost on unsubstantiated grounds. The striking doctors were later dishonorably discharged from their duty duties. On May 15, 1923, Anchor died of a heart attack while screaming at two surgeons he accused of not properly washing their hands. Really? Yes. I remember this from last year. On this day in history, I'm old enough to have been a patient at Anchor Hospital.
Matthew
And what do you remember about Anchor Hospital?
Joe Sutton
Oh, God. It was like an insane asylum.
Matthew
Yes, I can totally picture that.
Kenny Olson
Where was it?
Joe Sutton
It was right 35E. No, it was. No, it was.
Kenny Olson
It didn't change into something that.
Joe Sutton
South of 7th Street. Oh, south of West 7th. Okay. Where there is now a Hazeldon Treatment Center.
Kenny Olson
Oh.
Joe Sutton
Oh.
Matthew
Is that far down?
Joe Sutton
I didn't know that it was in there. On this day, May 18th in 1931, you want to know why I was in Anchor Hospital? You want to know why as a kid? Kind of. You want to know why? I rode my tricycle across home plate of a neighborhood baseball game, and one of the Grady boys was swinging and hit me right in the forehead. So they didn't know what to do, so they took me to anchor. I was there for probably eight years.
Matthew
Did you ever meet the big guy? Doctor. Doctor.
Joe Sutton
Doctor. Anchor was gone by then. Okay. A lot. Right here. See this? That's all.
Kenny Olson
Wow.
Joe Sutton
On this day, May 18, 1931, Minneapolis board aviator Charles Speed Holman was killed during an air show in Omaha. A pioneer of aviation, his best known aerial stunt was looping, and he had won the U.S. airspeed trials in 1930. At his funeral, four 109th Air Squadron planes flew in the first recorded missing man formation with a vacant spot reserved in Holman's memory. Holman field at the St. Paul Downtown Airport is named in his honor.
Kenny Olson
Really?
Joe Sutton
On this day, May 18, in 20,
Matthew
you say Holman Field.
Joe Sutton
Holman Field, Charles Speed, home call.
Matthew
I was still thinking about the doctor Anchor berating two surgeons like the two sur, like, yeah, take that.
Joe Sutton
Did he.
Kenny Olson
Was it like.
Joe Sutton
Did he say, like, you got knocked,
Matthew
we ain't working on you.
Joe Sutton
Ding dong, the witch is dead. Yes.
Matthew
And we're not even gonna wash up.
Kenny Olson
Should we try to. Should we try to save.
Joe Sutton
Oh, hell no. That's anchored.
Kenny Olson
Just wait a few minutes. Let's make sure he's dead.
Joe Sutton
On this day, Joe.
Chris Reivers
Today is May 18th.
Joe Sutton
In 2015, the St. Paul Saints played their first game at the new CHS Stadium in St. Paul's Lowertown. During the exhibition match, they faced off against the Sioux City Explorers. On this day, 5-18-18. Sports related. Very interesting. On this day, May 18, 1961, first something at MET. Grand slam, right?
Chris Reivers
Baseball, obviously, yes. Grand slam?
Joe Sutton
No.
Chris Reivers
Cycle, no. Complete game.
Joe Sutton
Nope.
Kenny Olson
Harmon something.
Joe Sutton
Harmon twins played their first night game night game under lights at Met Stadium and lost to the eighth A's 4 to 3. Now, those A's would have been Kansas City, right?
Chris Reivers
No, they would have been in Oakland.
John Height
No, that was Kansas City. It was Kansas City until the late or mid late 60s.
Chris Reivers
61. Were the.
Joe Sutton
Weren't they Kansas City?
Chris Reivers
Yep, Kansas City. Johnny was right.
Joe Sutton
Thank you.
Matthew
I bet they moved to Oakland.
Joe Sutton
That was so on this night in 1961 was the first night night game.
Chris Reivers
First ever.
Kenny Olson
I can't tell you how fascinating that is.
Matthew
That would be weird to have two Athletics.
Kenny Olson
Thanks for bringing that up.
Joe Sutton
You're so damn smart.
Patrick Rice
Where were the Athletics before they went to Kansas?
Chris Reivers
Philadelphia.
Matthew
No, not in Philly.
Joe Sutton
Yeah, the Bronx, New York. Thank you very much. G Ellers having a conversation.
Kenny Olson
Sorry?
Matthew
About Milwaukee.
Chris Reivers
The Braves.
John Height
Before they were the Braves, they were in Kansas City.
Chris Reivers
Thank you, John.
Kenny Olson
Yes.
Joe Sutton
Who went to Kansas City in 68?
John Height
Kansas City moved in 60 went to Oakland.
Joe Sutton
Correct. Right. And then how many years was Kansas City absent a ball club before they got the Royals?
Chris Reivers
77.
Joe Sutton
70. No, they were there before 76, folks.
Matthew
The Royals came in 76.
Joe Sutton
When did the Royals go to Kansas City? Oh, my God.
Matthew
Yeah. 70. Yes.
Chris Reivers
Hi, how are you? Maybe sign up for YouTube or don't I I.
Joe Sutton
72 or 73.
Chris Reivers
69.
Joe Sutton
The very next year, John.
John Height
Yes, that's correct.
Joe Sutton
And they were expansion club.
John Height
Yeah, actually they moved in 67. Sorry, not 68.
Matthew
Let's do some extra, boy.
Joe Sutton
We got everything. And in 69, they were a new team.
John Height
New team with Seattle, along with Seattle
Joe Sutton
Pilots who became the Milwaukee Brewers.
Chris Reivers
The show's over. It is time once again that we check in with our guy, Mr. Money Talk. Josh Arnold is with us once again right here in Garage Logic. And now is the time for you to do the same. So do not delay, do exactly what I did and pick up that phone and dial 952-925-5608. That number once again is 952-925-5608. When you call number you're going to get Josh and he is there for you for that. Free. Yes, I use the word free. 48 minute financial consultation with absolutely zero obligation. And he will always give you the straight talk, he will never give you the sugar coated advice. And he is on the line with us once again right here in Garage Logic. And boy, Josh, I know this. I know it's a big week and you have a lot to report on in terms of Nvidia, but you also have a lot to report on in terms of oil, don't you?
Josh Arnold
Yes, I. Yes, I do. Right now, Chris, oil is moving, moving the market up and down. It would seem that there is a concern that the price of oil moving up, you know, more concerns of massive or maybe not massive of shortages of oil in certain parts of the of the world. Given the situation or ongoing situation in the Mid east. There are many traders that are disappointed that nothing quote unquote substantive has came out of Trump's meeting with Xi. But I think much came out that probably has not been reported. Though there is a concern that Trump did not back or strongly back Taiwan. I'm not sure that any administration has strongly backed Taiwan in dealing with the Chinese, but I think that that is well known that should the Chinese make a move on Taiwan, Taiwan the US will back the island nation. China definitely wants Taiwan for many many reasons as they do believe that Taiwan is part of Greater China. But Taiwan also of the largest ship manufacturing facility with Taiwan Semiconductor. Though Taiwan Semiconductor has been expanding around around the world world including into the United States with their factories and Taiwan Semiconductor has definitely taken advantage numerous incentives to move manufacturing to other other countries where chip demand is very very strong. Taiwan Semiconductor is probably the as I've said the largest manufacturer of chips and they manufacture chips for Nvidia and Apple, Amazon, Google, Advanced Micro Devices among other among other place or other companies. Intel has been trying to expand their foundries here. Intel has a deal with Apple for one of their foundries but that still is going to take a little bit of time to develop. The announcement of that deal pushed Intelligence Intel's stock price above $100 a share. Intel has since pulled back from a high of about $130 a share and has come down as have the prices of other semiconductor chip stocks as well as the memory memory stocks has been they had gone parabolic and as the price of oil has moved up as well as talk of higher interest rates has started to come come again that has pulled down the prices of these semiconductor stocks. We'll find out a little bit more will say about the state of semiconductors as well as the state of artificial intelligence this Wednesday when Nvidia reports their their numbers and provides guidance much as expected from Nvidia. But Nvidia is still now on a price to price to earnings basis. Nvidia has come way way down over the past year as their earnings and sales have really started to increase relative at least to their stock price. I do believe there is going to be be much volatility around this report both today and tomorrow and early Wednesday and then following the report as as well there are you know numerous commentators and analysts who have said, you know, own app, own Nvidia, don't trade Nvidia because of its lead in artificial intelligence. And there are just as many analysts who not only like to trade but are much concerned about the about the lead that that Nvidia has and their belief that Nvidia's lead can be reduced by other chip companies including a non profitable company called Cerberus that recently team came from public. This company has, you know, low sales but a great idea for chips but it has attracted a lot of money we'll say away from Nvidia and the other chip companies when it came public last last week. So you know my, you know my sense is be very very careful on some of the new IPOs that like this Cerberus where the company does not generate a lot of revenue and the price for these IPO owes is extraordinary. Better to me to be in some of the we'll say tried and true companies and again we'll find out a little bit more on that this this week.
Chris Reivers
Excellent advice.
Josh Arnold
Stay tuned and we'll keep you informed.
Chris Reivers

Garage Logic — May 18, 2026 Episode: “New audio from Aimee Bock who is starting to name names”
In this episode, the Garage Logic crew, led by host Joe Soucheray (a.k.a. "The Mayor"), dives deep into the emerging Feeding Our Future fraud scandal, focusing on new developments involving Aimee Bock, fresh reporting from the New York Post, and lingering questions about accountability in Minnesota government. The episode examines institutional failures, political fallout, and a culture of fear and silence among public officials. Along the way, the show’s trademark mix of banter, skepticism, and outrage is on full display—plus digressions into everything from lawn care woes to historical trivia.

(31:30 - 42:31)
Bock’s Perspective: In a new Fox report, convicted Feeding Our Future ringleader Aimee Bock alleges top DFL figures—including Governor Tim Walz and AG Keith Ellison—were aware of the scam and did nothing.
State’s Role: Bock shifts blame onto the state for approving and paying out claims:
Political Links: Texts and emails present U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar’s name several times, mainly concerning waivers that enabled fraudulent operations to continue. Omar also appeared in a promotional video for the shady Safari restaurant and held her 2018 election night party there.
Fear and Retaliation: Team speculates on why whistleblowers won’t talk—fear for their lives or jobs, as “Ilhan is a very, very clever woman. And no one has used the racism club… more effectively than Ilhan.” (40:02)
Joe’s Frustration:

Garage Logic exhibits its usual mix of cynicism, wit, and frustration at bureaucratic incompetence, underscored by a deep reverence for common sense and transparency. Joe Soucheray’s “mayoral” gravitas drives the discussion, but the roundtable brings out both the comedic and exasperated sides as they expose government flaws and the human tendency toward avoidance and self-preservation.
This episode is a deep-dive into Minnesota’s ongoing nonprofit fraud scandal, showcasing fresh revelations and underscoring the challenges of holding those in power accountable when the system itself seems complicit or paralyzed by political correctness and fear. For Garage Logic, these stories are both evidence and symbol of larger social malaise—the erosion of gumption, accountability, and common sense.
For listeners new and old, the episode is a blend of Minnesota local politics, cultural critique, breaking news, and classic Garage Logic flavor—anchored by palpable skepticism and a wistful longing for straightforwardness in public life.
