Hail the Flashlight King.
Joe Soucheray
And now from the Mayor's office above the Boath House on the east shore of Spoon Lake, it's Garage Logic with Chris Reavers manning Technology corner, Kenny Olson from the Crabby Coffee shop, John Height in the newsroom, and of course the rookies. Here is your Flashlight King, fireworks commissioner and the keeper of common sense, your mayor, Joe Susher. Yesterday I read portions of a newsletter that Tom Lyman, as in the traveling Lyman, sent me and I was calling was Doom. Everything in it was doom.
Chris Reivers
Quick aside, they will be in studio the first week of June.
Joe Soucheray
Wonderful.
Chris Reivers
I corresponded with Tom. Wonderful.
Joe Soucheray
Lisa Daymoth will be here Friday.
Chris Reivers
Fantastic.
Joe Soucheray
I emailed Tom and he got back to me because I said, tom, I can't really go with this until I know who wrote it. And the fellow who wrote it is a guy named Bob Rainer R I N E A R and I looked him up and he's got an outfit called Invest Yourself. I'm sure there are many, many, many of these in the country. There are investment newsletters that people subscribe to. Lyman, for example, subscribing to this one, I don't know if he pays a fee to be a part of Rainier's club, so to speak, but that's where it came from. And Rainier has got. I looked him up. He's a real human being. His outfit's called Invest Yourself. And here's the primary industries he refers people to. Finance, investment banking, data collection, Internet portals, media, and Internet publishing. He what else can I tell you about him? He's down in Sarasota, Florida. And again, there are, I'm sure many listeners subscribe to these financial newsletters. They get them from a variety of sources. This happens to be the one from an outfit called Invest Yourself. And now that I know more about it, I'll just read you a little bit more about it. And then the members of, I keep calling it club, the members of Rainier's group, subscription based. Yeah, I would imagine. And they read this and then they make decisions or don't make decisions based on what they read from this guy they subscribe to. And well, Lyman's done all right. What kind of worldwide adventures, what kind
Eddie
of information would be on your financial advice newsletter if in fact you did one?
Joe Soucheray
What not to do, what not to do. Yeah, don't buy fiat stock.
Fritz
Investing is easy.
Joe Soucheray
Now's the time to invest now. Time now for Joe and Pat's piping hot stock take mo money. Well, here was his piece from yesterday called you tell me, why don't you tell me. We live in a disturbing world, one where just six years ago a bioweapon was released on folks on purpose, where billions were urged to get an experimental shot that has caused death or damage to millions. One where AI data centers are being built by the thousands, robbing communities of peace, land, water and home values. But we're also a world built on energy, oil in particular. From that dark goop, literally thousands of products are made. We've been through that for going on 10 weeks now. The normal processing and shipping of that vital black goo has been disrupted to the tune of anywhere from 15 to 20 million barrels a day. And then he goes on to give you that box of paperclips deal. And compares oil to the size of Olympic swimming po. All right. I have run research across four separate large language modes. I have cross referenced every claim against the U.S. energy Information Administration, the International Energy Agency, Bloomberg, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Fortune The Associated Press, Reuters, pbs, CNN and the United Nations. I have verified the expert assessments from Carlyle Group, Rystead Energy, Shell, Chevron and the EIA administrator himself. What I'm about you is not speculation. It is not opinion. It is the documented, sourced, verified trajectory of the global oil supply as it exists now. May 8, 2026. And some of this I read yesterday about the last ship that arrived in Long beach and the buffer that kept fuel flowing for two months. Tankers that were already at sea when the war started is exhausted. Byron Stock, director of the Chevron El Segundo refinery, one of largest refineries on the west coast called it a significant milestone that I've not been faced with in my 27 year career. His refinery normally receives 20% of its crude from the Arab Gulf. That supply is zero now. Zero. California imports roughly 60% of its crude. Roughly 20% of that came from the Middle East. That is gone. Jeff Curry, senior advisor of the Carlisle Group, told Bloomberg Television on May 6, 2026 that oil storage tanks Europe will hit tank bottoms sometime in the month of May and in the United States somewhere in the July 4th period. He said he has never seen anything like it before. Tank bottoms does not mean the tanks are low. It means the system stops working. Oil storage tanks require a minimum volume of liquid to help maintain the pressure that allows the pumps to function. When levels drop below that threshold, the remaining oil becomes physically inaccessible to the pipeline system. It cannot be p out, it cannot be moved. The pumps fail. But below that, the bottom 5 to 10% of large storage tanks contain sediment, water and paraffin wax that the industry calls heavies. If you try to draw that level, your clog filters, you clog filters and damage refinery equipment. So when Currie says tank bottoms, he is describing a point where the infrastructure itself fails. The pumps cannot pull, the pipelines cannot deliver. The refineries cannot process. It does not matter. It does not matter how much money you have. The fuel is gone from the system. Europe is hitting that point now. This month, May 2026, the United States hits it around July 4th. This is not a projection for next year. This is eight weeks from the day I'm writing this. I can go on, but there it is. If the oil doesn't start flowing again, we're in trouble. Yep, that's what I would take from this newsletter.
John G
So what is his point is just we got to get the oil moving.
Joe Soucheray
Well, the point is that basically you and I can't do anything about it. Okay, that's, that's the Point.
John G
What happens when they quit delivering oil to the coke refinery in?
Joe Soucheray
Then you don't get gasoline.
John G
And then people are out of jobs.
Joe Soucheray
And then. And then we already went through yesterday. What happens to diesel? If the diesel trucks stop running, the food doesn't leave the farm, it doesn't get to the processing plants, it doesn't get to the grocery store and the shelves are empty.
Eddie
Hell, it dies on the vine out in the field.
Joe Soucheray
So I'm skimming this again, but I think. I think, well, the reserves aren't enough to get this country through a week of use. Some will say I'm overstating this. The governments will intervene, that rationing will slow the cascade, that emergency measures will buy time, that the system will adapt. Maybe governments may ration fuel. Emergency shipping corridors may be established. Military convoys may move critical supplies, demand destruction may reduce consumption enough to stretch out what remains. None of these changes. None of that changes the physical reality. The data says tank bottoms hit in Europe this month and in the US by July 4th. The data says diesel runs out first. The data says 70% of American food moves by truck, and every truck runs on diesel. The cascade from diesel shortage to food shortage is not a probability estimate. It is a mechanical fact. When the fuel stops, the truck stops. When the truck stops, the food stops. Emergency measures may soften the impact. They will not prevent it. This is not a probability assessment. This is a warning. And the difference between a warning you act on and a warning you dismiss is measured by whether your family eats in August. So this might be a guy who is over the top, but it sounds to me like a guy who's analyzing what data is available to him, and these are the conclusions he's drawing. Now, you said something yesterday, reivers that accidentally might have been on target. Okay. And that is, are we too big to fail? Well, I think he addresses that there when he said the governments could intervene. They could create a rationing system. They could create military convoys to move what oil there is, and on and on and on. All I'm saying is there's probably a lot more going on than we know about.
Eddie
We have a lot of oil in reserve, but I can't find a number or a year or a month and how long it'll last. We have roughly 46 to 48 billion barrels in reserve. And the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve holds a stockpile of 415 million barrels of crude. Who in the world has the Most reserve? Venezuela. Venezuela, 303 billion barrels of crude oil.
Joe Soucheray
Well, I think what we could reasonably conclude that this Iran fiasco has gummed up the works and it needs to be solved. And apparently it will be.
John G
So we run out first week of July. Hey, we made it 250 years, huh?
Chris Reivers
What would be worth exploring, though, in all seriousness, is the amount of oil production that could be happening here in this country, but isn't happening because of the movements of climate change, et cetera.
Joe Soucheray
I think that we're producing as much
Chris Reivers
oil as, well, for instance, California, because Lord knows they're being led by the true mysterion of this entire country. They could help lessen the dependency on foreign oil. I don't know anything about that.
Joe Soucheray
No.
Eddie
The US is currently in the middle of a massive withdrawal from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. The Department of Energy.
Joe Soucheray
I'm still reading this.
Eddie
This is a new one. I asked, when will the US tap into the oil reserves? This is what they're giving me. The Department of Energy began a 120 day release of 172 million barrels in mid March to help lower gas prices.
Joe Soucheray
Don't we go through about 20 million barrels a day in this country?
Guest
Wow.
Chris Reivers
Really?
Fritz
20 to 21.
Joe Soucheray
I just read 20 to 21 million barrels a day in this country. A reserve system means nothing. Wow. And the reserve was established for the highest emergencies of warfare. You know, a world war. There's not enough in there to conduct life as we know it. That soon will be gone. But are we too big to fail? Will something happen that rescues us once again from complete demise? I have no idea.
Chris Reivers
Well, but everyone's gonna. As you always say, everyone has their number. Correct. I think people are starting to get to their number.
Guest
All right.
John G
What is the USA's number? Where we strong arm the pirates in the Strait of Hormuth to get.
Joe Soucheray
The problem with everyone reaching their number is by the time everybody reaches their number, it's too late. That number is going to affect whether they even have any reason to go buy gas. You know, maybe their business shuts down, maybe the grocery store shuts down.
John G
This is all surreal because you can't, in your minds, in your mind, you can't picture the USA imploding. But as you said, the diesel, diesel runs out, we're screwed.
Joe Soucheray
I would feel more comfortable with an adequate presidency. I just don't feel that we have it. I'm not sure we would have had it no matter who got elected.
Eddie
12:14 geologist, 14 minutes in.
John G
That's how long it took.
Joe Soucheray
That's how long it took. Yeah. You come, you got me right now, but I got you. Are you are you comfortable with this scam that Trump has put.
Eddie
What I'm comfortable with, and I. I don't think you are, is knowing that there's nothing I can do or say.
Joe Soucheray
That's what I'm comfortable with. I know, but I. I love seeing it.
Eddie
I know. And. And to back you up, what do we do for a living?
Joe Soucheray
Yeah. I say stuff.
Eddie
We say stuff. Yeah.
Fritz
I was gonna say every time I say that on the air, Kenny, I'm told to talk, so I can't buy your excuse.
Eddie
We should get paid by the word instead of what we actually feel.
Joe Soucheray
The guy sued the people who work for him for $10 billion. He sued the IRS.
Chris Reivers
You can do that.
Joe Soucheray
Shouldn't. And then, so. But then I don't know who got to him, but he dropped that lawsuit. And instead he said, you know what? I'll drop the 10 billion deal, but you're going to cut me a break. You're going to give me.
Chris Reivers
Let's make a deal.
Joe Soucheray
He said, let's make a deal. You're going to give me. Get it? 1,776. $1,776,000,000 million dollars. Get it. 1776. Kind of making it a national celebration.
Chris Reivers
250th, Joe.
Joe Soucheray
Yeah. And I'm going to take that money and I'm going to give it. Supposedly, I'm going to give it to a panel that I create that has no congressional oversight whatsoever. And supposedly that panel will distribute to people who, who apply for it claiming they've been aggrieved somehow by the Justice Department or the law.
Eddie
Have we been aggrieved? Can we apply?
Joe Soucheray
And so some January 6th rioter, because Trump views that as they were defending him, he can apply to this commission that Trump has created and say, I was personally damaged by this. The law enforcement came after me for the simple act that I was breaking Capitol windows and trashing Nancy Pelosi's desk. We'd all like to, but we don't do that.
Eddie
Clench on tense.
Joe Soucheray
I'm not tense. The point is, there's a larger point here. Trump and Trump height, and I disagree. I will bet $1,000 that not one nickel of that will ever go to anybody. We'll all stay with Trump. John, you believe. You believe what?
Fritz
Any January 6th or that applies will be given money.
Joe Soucheray
Okay. Yeah, I guarantee it. I don't think so. I think Trump is too corrupt and too selfish. He's gonna. That's just another 1.7 billion for him.
Fritz
But by law, he can't accept anybody
Joe Soucheray
from that by law he doesn't care America. He'll give it to his kids, then he'll figure out a way to just shove it to his family.
Eddie
They're creat creating scenarios of doom. Remember just a few months ago, a half a year ago, you were worried about Greenland.
Joe Soucheray
But it's $2 billion of our money
Eddie
in the Gulf of Trump.
Joe Soucheray
Every week it's a new. It's a new doom.
Chris Reivers
The wheel of fortune, the wheel of misfortune. It's better than that, Kenny. It's a new episode. Hey, here's the new episode.
Joe Soucheray
How about looking at it this way? We're defrauded. No matter where we look, we're defrauded here in Minnesota. Were defrauded by the president. This is our tax money. He's taking $2 billion of it. He's putting it in a drawer to be governed by four people he appoints
Fritz
in a drawer like that.
Joe Soucheray
What the hell is this?
John G
A drawer, Johnny. A big drawer with a drawer clearly labeled money.
Joe Soucheray
Corruption isn't even a word. A proper word for this. This goes beyond corruption.
Eddie
How does this affect Kenny?
Joe Soucheray
That guy's an American hater.
Eddie
How does this affect Kenny when I've got to pick my truck up from schoonovers, gotta get home and mow, I've gotta do this, I gotta do that. I got shingles and paint. And how does all of this that we're all.
Fritz
Well, I don't want to hear any complaints about fraud or you paying taxes or anything else.
Chris Reivers
Ah, it's all different.
Joe Soucheray
I have to pay a lot of taxes. This ass is stealing my money when this thing isn't stealing it right in front of you in broad daylight.
Eddie
John, when this on fraud never leaves my.
Chris Reivers
I Never talk about 135 on Friday click.
Joe Soucheray
Yeah, well, I'm glad you all have that comfort level. I have to keep the damn show running.
Chris Reivers
Not on Friday.
Joe Soucheray
Matthew's got. Hell, I don't.
Eddie
Matthew's got to figure out a wheelchair for his dad at a wedding in July.
Joe Soucheray
July, wheelchairs available.
John G
Let me know.
Chris Reivers
And you know what, Joe?
John G
Hey, if you don't like America, then
Joe Soucheray
you can get it. Well, how. How do you justify this?
Fritz
This?
Joe Soucheray
You're a big fan of Trump and you say he's just doing a hell of a job. He's the answer. He just stole 2 billion from you. How do you justify that? Because here's. You want me to get deep? Oh, I'm gonna get deep.
Guest
Here we go.
Fritz
Last show. I'll give you all my views okay, okay, Here.
Joe Soucheray
Here's the problem.
Eddie
Let's go to YouTube and see what they're saying. Well, isn't this.
Joe Soucheray
How long. Okay, how long before the. Get paid? Why don't you be quiet? Okay. All right. How long before the Robin Walmsleys of the world catch on to this scam and say, every victim, everyone, every black person arrested Minneapolis has an aggrieved position to take against the Minneapolis Police Department and should be distributed some money? What's the difference? What this does or the precedent it establishes is to upend law enforcement as we know it in this country. This kicks out judges, this kicks out juries, this kicks out prosecutors, this kicks out defense attorneys. So take it right down to the cop on the street. He arrests some kid for stealing a car, and the kid can claim, I'm oppressed. I'm a victim of just what the world has become, and I am terribly aggrieved at the way this works, and I think there should be a fund established to give me money. There's no difference. No difference whatsoever. So how long before the mysterians flip this upside down and windmill the hell out of Trump? Because this erases, from the American experience a reasonable procedure for law enforcement and takes $2 billion of your money, puts it in a fund that only he can govern because he appoints the four people to it who are all going to be lackeys, and they distribute the money. Supposedly. I continue to believe he'll just keep it all, but they'll distribute the money to people who come to the conference. Hi. Next. John Smith. Yeah, you know, I was at the Capitol, and I thought I was doing the right thing. I mean, I just broke three windows and I did hit a cop. But I was trying to preserve the election of the true savior of this country, and I think I'm owed a million dollars. I know. They check it off. Okay, John, here's your million. Yeah, well, then why doesn't Robin Wansley and Cesar Chavez, or. What is his name? Jason Chavez? What's to stop them? What's to stop them from creating the same kind of environment?
Chris Reivers
You're right. Because next thing we know, I mean, we'll have politicians lowering safeguards and then claiming, defeating.
Joe Soucheray
What is the point of us working our asses off and paying taxes when this is merely. Trump has merely invented a new form of redistribution. Been asking myself that for years, Joe.
Eddie
You've created these doom scenarios.
Joe Soucheray
Well, tell me how I'm wrong. You just tell me how everyone, Robin Wansley doesn't look at this and think. I got an idea.
Eddie
Everything you've just said is just your worst fears. You've got nothing to back chance.
Joe Soucheray
John. Tell me how I'm wrong.
Fritz
You've got nothing wrong.
Eddie
These are all fantasies.
Joe Soucheray
Is it a fantasy that he just took the 2 million and created a commission? No, that's not a fantasy.
Eddie
And that's where you should stop.
Joe Soucheray
Because everything. You're just creating these things. I'm in the business of not stopping. I'm in the business of telling you what's coming down the road.
Eddie
I'm in the business of paying my bills. And it's getting increasingly harder.
Fritz
It's because 2 billion in tax money is going.
Eddie
I wonder why a certain somebody will not not listen to reason.
Chris Reivers
You know why.
Guest
Those evildoers.
John G
Santavo.
Fritz
Last show. Joe, when we do the last show.
Eddie
This might be the last show.
Fritz
I get a half hour.
Chris Reivers
No, we get the Kardashian theory, though.
Eddie
This is going to be Garage Logic with Rookie.
Joe Soucheray
I have not said anything on tour or outrageous. You have a president who's establishing a new form of redistributing income. What is to stop any mysterious city council person or mayor in the country from doing the same thing.
Guest
You're working hard to put food on your family.
Joe Soucheray
Yeah, pretty soon I won't be. The guy's made 3,700 stock trades. No other president has done that. They put themselves in a blind trust.
Eddie
Pelosi.
Joe Soucheray
Okay, yeah, yeah.
Fritz
I give you if we're gonna start with what ifs?
Joe Soucheray
I mean, I, you know. No, I'll go with Pelosi. She' crook just like the rest of them.
Eddie
Roger.
Joe Soucheray
Thank you, sir. Tina Smith a crook.
Chris Reivers
Roger.
Joe Soucheray
Roger. Maybe she's not a crook. Maybe.
Eddie
Do you need a hug?
Chris Reivers
Allegedly.
Eddie
I'm in town for one reason only. To bleep us to give you a hug.
Joe Soucheray
No, I'm. I'm fine. I'll be fine. I'll be fine. But I'm thinking about many people who won't be.
Eddie
Yeah.
John G
Hi, my name's Chris. Thinking about me?
Joe Soucheray
I got kids all over the map and they have kids and I just don't see a real bright situation here.
John G
You should start worrying about my kids, too.
Joe Soucheray
I have in the past. I'm done worrying about your kids. Thank you. If you can't handle it by now, too many OBGYNs aren't able to practice
Guest
their love with women.
Joe Soucheray
That's right.
Chris Reivers
Boy, those were simpler times, weren't they?
John G
How much is this?
Joe Soucheray
It never occurred to W. To us. I got an idea. W says I'm going to set up a commission to give money to my buddies who can claim they were aggrieved by the Justice Department. Plus plus does it escape you?
Chris Reivers
I'm the one that wants him to
Joe Soucheray
that he has weaponized. The Justice Department is doing the same thing he wants the money for.
Eddie
Oh, it's driving me. I can't. I can't sleep at night. I'm obsessed with it.
Guest
Rarely is the question asked our is our children learning?
Joe Soucheray
That's right.
John G
Children do learn.
Joe Soucheray
We got a lot of Rarely is the question asked.
Guest
Are is our children?
Joe Soucheray
Are there? Is they what animals is it's like
Chris Reivers
when you talk about the wild the wild animals.
Joe Soucheray
I don't know what I see you learned all about it.
Chris Reivers
Holy crap.

ProfessionalTurf.com I got a note from Rick. Rick McChesney. Rick Mchesney in Stillwater. Good morning, Mayor. During last Thursday's podcast, you and my fellow dum dums were asking why the populace puts up with our incompetent and corrupt governing class. Reivers pointed out that the number one topic trending was the Vikings and the NFL. Let me stop right there because the rest of this is fantastic and I want you to hear it. Let me stop right there. Apparently, the Vikings have been awarded the 2028 draft.
Chris Reivers
I'm so glad you're bringing this up.
Joe Soucheray
And on another station today, I heard, driving in here, someone claiming that this was important for culture, for our culture. And I about went off the road and got out of the car and spoke to giant big Bob Marley joint and said, I can't believe this. I can't believe what I'm hearing.
Eddie
What culture?
Joe Soucheray
What culture? Yeah.
Chris Reivers
At 11:22am, Vikings Public Relations director John Ekstrom, who's actually a very great guy,
Joe Soucheray
just cut to the chase.
Chris Reivers
Reavers has a news release and we can join the digital media announcement of the Vikings getting this particular NFL draft. Do you want to do that on the year? Should we do that off the year?
Joe Soucheray
No, because this is a big deal.
Chris Reivers
It's going to help the culture.
Joe Soucheray
I think the guy that said this. Maybe it was that guy. He said this as though it meant it's important for the culture of the country.
Chris Reivers
Well, the one nice thing, though, is if they do host it, downtown Minneapolis, they'll have plenty of space.
Joe Soucheray
Yeah. Back to Rick's letter.
John G
Yeah.
Joe Soucheray
Well, this is not a new phenomenon, meaning the vikings in the NFL. During the 2nd century A.D. roman poet and satirist Juvenal wrote the following. The populace, which formerly gave military power, high offices, legions, all, now contains itself and eagerly desires two things, only bread and circus games. He was lamenting the fact that instead of virtue and public service, people wanted only to be fed and entertained. Amen. Sound familiar?
John G
Yeah.
Joe Soucheray
During the 20th century, author Aldous Huxley wrote the the greater part of the population is not very intelligent, dreads responsibility, and desires nothing better than to be told what to do. Provided the rulers do not interfere with its material comforts and its cherished beliefs, it is perfectly happy to let itself be ruled. Considering Rookie's extensive reading, I'm sure he can tell you that Huxley was the author of Brave New World. The problems you discussed last week are unfortunately not new. This is why GL ers keep pushing back and try to raise their children with a moral compass and integrity. Thought you might enjoy the quotes. Keep up the good work, Rick.
Fritz
In Stillwater, when we first brought that up, Joe, we used the Orwell quote, remember? From 1984, football, beer, and above all, gambling filled up the horizons of their minds. To keep them in control was not difficult.
Joe Soucheray
This one's from Carter. Carter Lorch. Hail the Flashlight King. Hail you. Hey, Joe, I'm just now listening to the December 3rd podcast of Garage Lodges. All right, I know I'm a little behind. I don't have as much time to listen to podcasts as I do in the summer. Excuse me.
Chris Reivers
Perfect health.
Joe Soucheray
And you were talking about chunk kicking, which led to talking about the lack of cool cars in high school parking lots. I just wanted to say that I have a 1991 Ford F250 that is clean as a whistle. I bought it when I was 15 and still have it now at 18 and just about to graduate high school. I live in a rural community in southeast Minnesota where trucks are more popular than cars. The problem with cool cars is that they are all classic cars. And classic cars are extremely expensive nowadays. And Carter sent me a picture of his truck, which is pristine. A Ford F250, no rust, sits proudly on its frame. See, farther you get from the country's tallest buildings. What is this one? Oh, you're gonna love this one. You're gonna love this one. Good morning, Mayor. My friend who works for Bloomington Schools alerted me to the following. Please see the attached paid field trips. In other words, I suppose the parents have to come up with a few bucks. The attached paid field trips offered as continuing education over the summer. Okay. On Wednesday, June 17, there is an all day field trip to the Mille Lacs Ojibwe Museum. Travel with us via coach bus to the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe reservation to visit the Ojibwe India Museum. While there, you. While there you There is T H E R and U is E. W e. I'm not kidding. Just keep reading. Is that on purpose?
Eddie
Just let it go.
Chris Reivers
This emailer did what we do to him.
Joe Soucheray
Well, is that that Credo Creek? It's manure. Manure. It's yamh.
Chris Reivers
He's not hearing anything else. She's not reading anything else. It's that one spelling error.
Joe Soucheray
While there, you will experience the four season room behind the scenes, look at the collections and a particip and participate in a workshop designed for our group. This session will provide an opportunity for discussion and reflection, helping staff broaden their frame of reference related to indigenous communities. All participants will be provided lunch and take home resources for personal and classroom use. Well, I think that's pretty cool. I'd fork out the dough for my kid to go to that museum. The second one is. What's the date on this one? The second one is moving from bystander to upstander. A somatic field trip. 8 to 3 facilitator. Cassie description. Join us as we remember how before we had a. We had an idea that maybe the future of tourism in Minneapolis was the criminal tour. Yeah.
Guest
Yeah.
Joe Soucheray
Apparently we cannot make it up.
Eddie
They stole our idea.
Joe Soucheray
Join us as we explore the intersection of the politics of location and somatic resilience. Please look that up. Somebody. S o m a T I C S o M a t I c and somatic resilience. At our Minneapolis field trip, through visits to George Floyd square and the Renee Good and Alex Preddy memorials, we will practice peaceful observ and body scanning.
Chris Reivers
It's their body's innate ability to recover from stress, trauma or burnout.
Joe Soucheray
All right. And body scanning to understand how systemic forces affect our physical selves. This trip is designed to help us shift from passive observation to protective systemic intervention while also celebrating joy and resilience in our community. It's a crime tour. They're taking the crime tour. They're taking it right off the desk of Garage Logic. And they're legitimizing it. They're going to take a crime tour.
Eddie
What sort of crimes?
Joe Soucheray
Well, George Floyd. Well, Renee Good and Alex Petty were murdered. George Floyd. The murder, I think is at issue.
Eddie
What about the guy that was killed earlier in the week or last week in South Minneapolis? 54th street at 43rd Avenue.
Joe Soucheray
Nice neighborhood.
Eddie
Yeah, nice neighborhood. Killed. What about that guy?
Joe Soucheray
Well, he was trying to keep his car from being stolen, so probably not. I think the kid should swing by there too.
Eddie
That's why I asked. What kind of crimes?
Joe Soucheray
Well, what was the moral of that? Story, for God's sakes, if somebody wants your car that bad, walk away and let them have your car.
Eddie
It's hard for a lot of people to be passive like that and allow crime to happen to them. You know, they say that about the. The carjacking, too. Just give them the keys, let it happen. That goes against what a lot of people have inside them.
Joe Soucheray
Well, I can. I can testify to that person exactly where she fought back. Yeah. I said, you're lucky you didn't get shot.
Eddie
It was her first instinct. I bet in her mind there was no other option than she was slogging the guy. Yeah.
Joe Soucheray
Yeah.
Eddie
In her mind, that.
Guest
That's.
Eddie
It's fight or flight, right? She's fight.
Joe Soucheray
Sincerely, C.I. girl extraordinaire, Janine. Thank you, Janine. I think the Indian trip sounds cool.
Eddie
That'd be a cool museum to see it.
Joe Soucheray
Is it supposed. I am going to stop there because right on my way up there and I'm hearing great things about it. Hearing great things about it. What was I just going to look up?
Chris Reivers
I was going to look up some somatic resilience.
Joe Soucheray
No, what was it? I forgot?
Eddie
Earlier you were talking that email that reminded US of 1984 and Animal Farm and Brave New World and et cetera. I think what we've turned into, or we're almost there, is the movie Idiocracy. I mean, that's. How close are we right now?
Chris Reivers
While you're reading, which is a line from that. That's exactly right. They put Gatorade on the crops. It's got them electrolytes in it.
Joe Soucheray

Thank you Joe. This news brought to you by North American Banking Company A couple of quick sports note as you mentioned Joe, Minneapolis and the Vikings will be selected to host the 2028 NFL Draft according to multiple reports landing the draft fulfills a goal of the city since the construction of U.S. bank Stadium, which already brought a Super bowl to Minneapolis in 2018. This is all expected to be formally announced once it's approved during the annual NFL Spring meeting. This year's NFL Draft was held in Pittsburgh. The 2027 draft next year will take place in the national mall in Washington
Chris Reivers
D.C. joe, I have a question about that. They also sent out a follow up of where would you like to be credentialed and set up for? Do you want to be near the stadium? Should we be probably near like the Mall of America?
Joe Soucheray
Where?
Guest
Moa.
Chris Reivers
Where do you think we should go?
Joe Soucheray
Where is the actual headquarters going to
Chris Reivers
be well, you have to put in a request. So then they kind of divvy that out based upon. Should probably be by the stadium.
Joe Soucheray
I think I'll be. I'd like to be by the stadium.
Chris Reivers
Okay, good, good.
Fritz
Couple of Twins notes for you followers of the baseball squad. They have sent down Royce Lewis.
Joe Soucheray
Good.
Fritz
Royce hasn't been good for. For a while, shall we say. They also designated veteran reliever Justin Topa for assignment or release.
Eddie
What's wrong with Royce?
John G
Deadbeat motivation.
Joe Soucheray
He just making too many errors and he can't hit.
Eddie
He's probably focused on Trump.
Joe Soucheray
Maybe it's gotta be.
Chris Reivers
I did speculate Kenny. He strikes me as a guy that needs to constantly be told about how good he is all the time. I think he's a product of that.
Joe Soucheray
But you can't tell him that if he's not very good.
Eddie
He wouldn't last long on this show.
Chris Reivers
Oh, God, no.
Fritz
In news, Governor Walls named Justin Justice Theodora Gatiss as the new chief. As the next, excuse me, Chief justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court. Gayness will take over when Chief Justice Natalie Hudson retires in September. Judge Ronaldo Alagado Jr. Was appointed associate justice, filling the seat left by goddess promotion. Justice Ann McKeague and Justice Paul Thiessen were also in the running. Chief Justice Natalie Hudson, appointed in 2023. Her career comes to a close as she approaches her 70th birthday. They by state law, they are required to retire by that age.
Joe Soucheray
I love the name Theodora Theodore.
Eddie
That's a good one.

38 year old man, seriously injured story you brought up earlier in an attempted auto theft in Minneapolis on Friday has died. Minneapolis police say the assault happened when the victim saw two people trying to steal his car around 1:35 in the afternoon on the 5400 block of 43rd Avenue south and confronted them. After being confronted, the suspects abandoned the car they were trying to steal, ran to the car they had arrived in as the suspects tried to get away. The victim was either hit by the car or jumped onto the hood. The suspects were driving erratically, according to Minneapolis police, causing the victim to be thrown from the hood of the car. He ended up with a serious head injury on Sunday. Police say the man died from the injuries. Rick's Coffee Bar, a non profit coffee shop that gives all of its proceeds to support veterans, identified the man who died as their internship director, Amos Ferrier. Ferrier was an army medic in Afghanistan and was credited with saving multiple lives. There have been no arrests at this time. Minneapolis Police Chief Brian o' Hara saying, this is a tragic event that has devastated a family and shocked our community. The reckless disregard for the value of human life shown in this case is horrifying. Those responsible should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
John G
Any word on the bad guys?
Joe Soucheray
No.
Eddie
They're looking for him. If you know anything, call, but you know how that is.
Joe Soucheray
Just let the car go, you know? But, you know, your first instincts kick in.
Eddie
He didn't have those instincts in him. I mean, you know, he's a vet, not a badass.

Federal government is asking a judge to sentence the ringleader of defeating our future fraud scheme to 50 years in prison. Attorneys for the Department of Justice filed a sentencing recommendation for Amy Bach yesterday after her conviction in March last year in connection with the $2250 million fraud scheme. The recommendation cited the need to protect the public, saying the defendant's conduct was not impulsive. It was sustained, organized, and defended aggressively. Attorneys for Bach also filed their sentencing position on Monday. Theirs. Well, they were asking for. For a little less than 50 years. They said she should serve up to 37 months in prison. They said Bach wasn't the true leader of the fraud scheme.
Joe Soucheray
Well, who was?
Fritz
No, nobody's saying so.
John G
It's funny how they'll go after her and say, we want 50. But the other guys that took the stuff.
Joe Soucheray
Bach, you're guilty as hell. But. But if you can save yourself by telling us who your ringleader was, tell us.
Chris Reivers
Didn't she kind of do that, though?
Joe Soucheray
No, not. Not concretely.
Chris Reivers
Okay.
John G
You can kill someone and maybe do seven years, but you defraud the government, you get 50.
Fritz
One of Minnesota's largest school districts thinking about big cuts involving 75 positions, including teachers. The Anoka Hennepin school district now enrolls about 37,000 students. Board members did their first reading of a $690 million budget last night, about a 2% increase from the year before. The district wants to make $8.1 million in cuts after the expiration of COVID 19 funds, higher costs due to inflation, and unfunded state mandates. Among those cuts, 28 high school teaching positions, 26 social workers, 16 support staff, six counselors, and four tech staff. Last night's meeting involved just discussion. There was no formal vote. Board members are scheduled to have an official budget vote on June 22. Chanhassen dinner theaters canceling more shows this week after a potential norovirus outbreak among cast members and a system cyber attack on Friday. Minnesota Department of Health investigating thinks the symptoms align with Norovirus Chanhassen Dinner Theater said it's following all MDH recommendations, including disinfecting surfaces daily. Part of the theater's computer network experienced a cyber attack that took its systems offline. Officials are working with experts to securely bring them back online. Last week, the Minnesota venue had to cancel May 15th through the 17th performances of Guys and Dolls and now will cancel tonight's and tomorrow's matinee performances of Guys and Dolls. Impacted ticket holders will be contacted directly. President Tamara Erickson says that she wants to make sure the artists are healthy and their systems are secure before they resume operations.
Chris Reivers
John, before we go to Kenny, thank you very much to loyal town council member Samantha, who sent us this from the mayor's desk. Jacob Fry has a breaking news announcement.
Eddie
The 2028 NFL Draft is coming right here to Minneapolis. That's right. One of the biggest events in sports is coming to our city. And it makes sense because we do large scale events really well. And when we're welcoming people from across the world here to our city, we've got a beautiful city to show off. And whether it's the incredible restaurants or the people, this great venue.
Joe Soucheray
Okay, back. Okay.
Eddie
I guarantee you somebody, if not all of them on the city council, well, the majority of them will come out against this.
Joe Soucheray
Oh, yeah.
Eddie
They'll find something wrong with it.
Chris Reivers
The nice thing, too is he's. He's rocking his Viking shirt, I'm sure. Still got the price tag. Stick it out of the back, you know.
Joe Soucheray
Really?
Chris Reivers
No, but you can tell us.
Joe Soucheray
Jake, come on. Can we move on here?
Eddie
No, let's back up a story to the Chanhassen thing. So I looked up Norovirus. I'm just gonna throw you a few words. Yep. Explosive.
Joe Soucheray
Good name for a lake.
Eddie
Projectile.
Joe Soucheray
Good name for a lake.
Eddie
Watery.
Joe Soucheray
Yep. Cramps. Ooh. Lake cramps.
Eddie
Low grade.
Joe Soucheray
Yeah. Oh, where? You got a place up on low grade?
John G
Yeah.
Chris Reivers
No cramps.
Joe Soucheray
Oh, you're on Cramps.
Chris Reivers
Yeah, I'm over on Cramps.
Eddie
It lasts for one to three days and sounds miserable.
Joe Soucheray
Yeah, but it might be worth it if the play's good.
Eddie
It's a. Well, it's a good way.
Joe Soucheray
Of course I'm canceling. If you're having trouble losing weight, this
Eddie
would be a great place to start.
Joe Soucheray
Well, I've always wanted a place up on Cramps.
Chris Reivers
Yeah, yeah.
John G
You got to work your way up to. I know you can get there through the channel.
Joe Soucheray
That's right. Who's doing something here?
Eddie
Oh, Kenny, is it my Scott Almighty.
Joe Soucheray
Kenny.
Chris Reivers
I'm sorry, Kenny. Interrupted himself.
Eddie

Thank you, Chris. In economic news, yields on US Treasuries advanced as investors continue to dump bonds on fears inflation is reigniting. 30 year treasury yield hit the highest level in nearly 19 years. The longer dated 30 year treasury bond yield rose 4 basis points to its highest level. The reason for all this spiking oil prices from the US Conflict with Iran showing up in a series of inflation reports last week. Jim La Camp is a senior vice president at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management says it's a real problem. Said when we started this year, everybody expected rates to come down. That was part of the bull case. Now it looks like we're actually going to see an interest rate hike. The prevailing sentiment across global bond markets is being driven by the impact of the higher inflation. Meanwhile, speaking of oil, Joe, this piggybacks on what you were talking about earlier from Bob Rainier. The world's oil stockpiles are depleting very fast, according to the head of the International Energy Agency. Fateh Bharal is executive director of the Paris based agency and he said commercial reserves are being rapidly drained as oil and gas shipments from the Middle east continue to be blocked by the war in Iran. Speaking at a meeting of G7 finance ministers in Paris, he warned there were only several weeks left of stored supplies at current rates of depletion in certain countries.
Joe Soucheray
Then we learned a new term. The tanks hit bottom, which means nothing can be withdrawn from them. There's still stuff in there, but it's like a fuel pump in your car. If you get down too low, burn that pump out, the fuel pump just burns itself out trying to retrieve gas.
Eddie
Keep that thing at half tank at
Chris Reivers
the very least, way too low is what you're saying.
Joe Soucheray
Yeah. Yes.

On the war front, President Trump yesterday said he is postponing the scheduled attack of Iran following requests from leaders in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar. Well, or I guess it's Qatar now. I'm sorry. While threatening a large scale assault of Iran on a moment's notice. Investors say they're continuing to monitor geopolitical developments, with Russian leader Vladimir Putin scheduled to begin an official state visit to Beijing just days after President Trump concluded his trip to China. Top lawyer at the Treasury Department resigning yesterday in the wake of the creation of that $1.8 billion anti weaponization fund that could soon make payments to President Trump's political allies. Brian Morrissey was the Treasury's top lawyer. He resigned seven months after he was confirmed by the Senate and just hours after the Trump administration announced the fund on Monday. He did not respond to requests for comment about why he's resigning. The Justice Department, as we talked about earlier, created the fund to diverse to disperse payments to people who said that the Biden administration improperly targeted them. Two teenage shooters opened fire at a San Diego mosque yesterday and killed three men, then killed themselves a few blocks away. There's no specific threat made against the Islamic center of San Diego, but authorities found evidence the suspects engaged in what they called generalized hate rhetoric that coming from San Diego Police Chief Scott Wall. He declined to give more details, but said the circumst circumstances that led up to it would come out in the days ahead. The New York Post this morning reporting shotgun and gas cans that they had with an SS sticker on the side were located at the scene where the gunmen's bodies were discovered. The SS sticker represents the Schutzstaffel, the paramilitary organization led by Himmler under Adolf Hitler's Nazi regime. They also found anti Islamic writings in the suspect's vehicle. Before the attack, officers were already looking for one of the teens since his mom called police concerned her son was was suicidal and had run away. She told police weapons were missing from their home and the mother's vehicle was gone. The search took on even more urgency as police learned he was dressed in camouflage and with a friend. Police began using whatever technology they could to find the 17 year old, including automated license plate readers. The department dispatched authorities to a mall near where the car had been tracked by police. As officers continued interviewing the mother about places the teens could be, they got reports of the shooting at the mosque. A family friend identified a guard shot at the shooting as Amin Abdullah, a well known face at the mosque who had been working there for more than a decade. Police responded within four minutes of being called. As they arrived, gunshots rang out a few blocks away. The shooters were found dead in a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road nearby.
John G
John how old were they?
Fritz
17 and 18.
John G
Do you think that they could have I mean seriously, SS guys and hate for Islam or do you think they just thought it was a cool thing to do? I, I, a lifetime of hate. I, I really find that hard to believe for a 17 and 18 year old. Doesn't excuse what they did, but I just think they were stupid.
Joe Soucheray
Especially in San Diego. I didn't think, you know, you got
John G
surfing 76 and sunny every day.

Mark Furman, the former LA Police detective who became infamous as one of the lead officials investigating O.J. simpson after the deaths of the his ex wife and her friend has died. Furman was 74 years old. Furman was an obscure homicide detective who became instantly famous after he found a bloody glove on Simpson's property the night of the killings. But the testimony of Furman was called into question during the double murder trial when Simpson's defense team raised the prospect of racial bias. Under cross examination, Furman testified he had never made racial slurs. But his credibility took a hit when the defense produced recordings of him making racist statements and using en words word to describe suspects. When Simpson was acquitted after a contentious trial that was closely followed by the public, Furman was blamed in part for the verdict. Soon after the trial, Furman pleaded no contest to perjury charges. Placed on probation, he did not disappear completely. He right afterwards apologized publicly for using racial slurs in the past and said he didn't try to frame Simpson with a bloody glove. He went on to become a TV and radio commentator and wrote the book Murder in Brentwood, a book about the killings. Firman was married and divorced three times, survived by a son and a daughter.
Eddie
Remember the quote if I think it was from Johnny Cochran?
John G
Yes.
Eddie
If it doesn't quit. No, if it doesn't.
Joe Soucheray
If the glove don't fit, you must acquit.
Eddie
Thank you.

The hunt for the next James Bond has officially kicked off Amazon. MGM Studios started auditioning actors for the part of 007 about a week and a half ago, according to Variety, enlisting the help of Nina Gold to find the man who would play Ian Fleming's superstar.
John G
I have a question about Bond.
Joe Soucheray
Yeah.
John G
Is every movie after a book that has been written or do they just do movies? No matter what?
Eddie
It used to be that used to
Joe Soucheray
be all the books. Now they branched out and create their own screenplays.
Guest
Got it.
Fritz
Even before audition started, there's been a rampant speculation about who might be Bond. I, I'm horribly out of touch because I don't know any of these people. We're going with somebody named Jacob Ellerty.
Eddie
Never heard of him.
Joe Soucheray
No. How about Idris Eba?
Fritz
He's not listed here.
Joe Soucheray
He's four though. Yeah, I'd like to see him.
Fritz
Callum Turner. Calum Turner.
Guest
Turner. No.

Aaron Taylor Johnson.
Joe Soucheray
Caleb Turner is a guy from Wales. He's, you know, he's in a current series called Blackbird. Was a Dennis Lehane work and he's. He'd be fantastic.
John G
Straight off the set of my talk 107.
Joe Soucheray
Yeah.
Eddie
Wow. Nice job, Joe.
Fritz
The other guy is Aaron Taylor Johnson. I don't. I don't know him either. They're all three.
Eddie
Why not go a different route and pick an actor in their 90s? Really play.
John G
I was just gonna say what's the

Earlier in the show we mentioned Trump stealing $2 billion of our money to create a commission to grant money to people that are allies of his but can claim some grievance against the judicial system. And I said, what's to keep a local City Council person from doing the same thing right? Well, here's Robin Wansley's latest letter to her constituents in Ward 2. The Minneapolis Times occasionally runs the letters that City Council people send to their constituents and here's date of May 16th is Robin Wansley's Summary David Maturi spoke to Public Health, Safety and Equity Committee about his experience being the victim of racist hate attack after MPD failed to protect him. Background Davis Maturi is a black resident of South Minneapolis who faced racial harassment and threats from his white neighbor. Mr. Muturi called MPD more than 30 times but did not receive it. That guy was shot. He's been on the news frequently and she wants redress for that. Stop COP City Summary For a second time, Mayor Frye is asking the City council to spend $6 million to begin building a community safety training and wellness center cop city that is estimated to cost at least 40 million. Background and she goes into the background why she's opposed to this MPD participation in Homeland Security Task Force Summary the Public Health, Safety and Equity Committee unanimously approved a legislative directive about MPD's role in the Homeland Security Task Force. She's opposed to any locals working with that drones as first responders. Summary Staff presented on their current uses of drones in first response in policing and potential future uses. Background the City Council approved a legislative direction requiring requesting updates on the city's current and potential future uses of drones. This week, staff from MPD MPD has been using drones. Now they would like to use. Now they would like to do a free 75 day pilot program. I and other committee members had many questions and concerns about this potential pilot program. She's opposed to it. In other words, there's nothing in her letter to the constituents about the actual health, welfare and well being of the Ward 2. This is all anti police. Her whole constituent letter is anti police. Now I submit to you, what's to stop her from looking at this so called president who just stole $2 billion of your money to form a committee to give money to his pals who can claim that I think I was treated unfairly. What's to stop anyone in her ward from doing the same thing?
John G
I can't argue with you because she would. Once she realizes that she'll do that.
Eddie
Haven't they kind of done that already with the giving money to businesses that were affected?
Joe Soucheray
Well, not only that, but they created these fake street patrols of gang members and pay them hefty amounts of money to pretend they're stopping crime. They haven't done a damn thing.
Eddie
And what did our new council member lady call them? Skittles. Dressed like skittles.
Joe Soucheray
But not only is Trump's deal horribly corrupt and dishonest and disingenuous, it's going to establish a horrible precedent. President. If the president can steal your money, why can't a lowly council person steal your money?
Eddie
It's all about. It's just a different. Instead of calling them reparation, is that what they're reparations? Yeah, it's just a flag update.
Joe Soucheray
Jerry writes. Please add Avon, Minnesota. Hail our flashlight King. Our town of Avon, Minnesota is flying the true flash flag. Please add us to the list. The Avon is not yet on the crawl. It will be. Tom Rogantin writes. Here is another one in Cabot. Cabot. Kabatogama. Kabatogama. Kabataga.
Eddie
No, you had it. You had it.
Joe Soucheray
Kabatagama.
Eddie
No.
Joe Soucheray
Well, Cabotagama.
Eddie
Close enough.
Joe Soucheray
Cabotaga in Voyeur's National Park. They're flying the flag. All right. They're going to. Jeez Louise. Only because they come to us all the way for Mr. Lyman, who I have to meet some people who are coming here to visit us. I love those people. I know. Only because they come to us all the way from Eden Prairie.
John G
Wow.
Joe Soucheray
It was on this day, Joe.
Chris Reivers
Today is May 19th.
Joe Soucheray
In 1857, Duluth was incorporated as a town, having been surveyed and mapped and named the previous year. On this day May 19th. In 1860, Alexander Ramsey and other Republican notables traveled from Chicago to Springfield, Illinois, to offer Abraham Lincoln the Republican presidential nomination. On this day, May 19, in 1968, Adolf Den, printmaker and artist, died in his studio in New York. Born in Waterville, Minnesota, he was known for his satirical lithographs of high society.
Chris Reivers
When's the last time you've been to Waterville?
Joe Soucheray
I'm not sure I ever have.
Chris Reivers
It's a neat town.
Joe Soucheray
Wonder what flag they're flying.
Chris Reivers
Oh, you know what? I can check for you.
Joe Soucheray
All right.
Chris Reivers
On this day, Joe, today is May 19th.
Joe Soucheray
In 1992, the City of Marshall began operating the first commercial wind farm in Minnesota. I wonder how that's working out for him on this day in sports disappointment history.
Chris Reivers
Who'd we lose to on May 19, Joe?
Joe Soucheray
Well, in 2015, the Wolves finally got a first overall pick after 26 years in business. Cat, probably. Yeah. Who's now leading the Knicks to all kinds of glory. Isn't he?
John G
Daniel? Daniel Gray Solo Cyr Dulut. D U H L H U T 1639-1710. A French soldier and explorer who was known to have explored Duluth, Minnesota. That's why they're named after this guy.
Joe Soucheray
Thank you so much.
John G
I just wanted to know why.
Joe Soucheray
Yeah. Thank you, G ellers.
Chris Reivers
Thank you.
John G
That's all I have for that. That's it.
Chris Reivers
That's gonna do her.
John G

Five billion. Wow. Billion. Black black owned a private equity equity firm and which has been under under fire because of their investments in private credit along with the the rest of the rest of the private equity group including KKR Carlisle, you have black Blackstone and of course Blue Owl which is which has been suffered suffering massively. Many of these private equity firms which do pay out pretty significant dividends when they do pay are in correction or bear market territory. That said, Blackstone has set up a $5 billion Google to expand a AI infrastructure. Well when you're talking about AI infrastructure, you're talking primarily about building more data centers that will say black owner is going to be funding and using Google chip. Now that does put some pressure. Some of the existing what's called the Neo Neo cloud or alternative data centers run by Core Weave and Nebia, both of whom have seen stock prices zoom up and zoom down on any we'll say positive or negative mentions around artificial intelligence. Question could be of course is Blackstone late to the party of building out data centers or of course Blackstone wants in on the data center build out. Well, there are many companies that want to participate in the build out of data centers for artificial intelligence. You do have some issues as many many communities around the country have either put on moratoriums on additional building or are putting on certain restrictions on building new data centers due to the increased cost of energy around those data centers as well as as the increased use of water. Now many companies I'll say like Microsoft, Amazon, which do operate data centers, Amazon of course through Amazon Web Services have said that they will provide their own power supply for these data centers or any of the power that they generate they are willing to share with the local community in order to keep energy costs down. So that is just going to take some time to develop. Of course the data centers which do provide employment opportunities both in terms of construction and then ongoing employment opportunities, you know, are we'll say massive in their, in their size can be seen we'll say as, as threats in the local, in the local community, particularly around as we've said, the demand for energy. But and I say but if these companies are willing to build their own energy infrastructure and then share it with the local community, I think that's a, that becomes a win. A win win. The need for data centers which has been expanding at least in my view over the last almost 30 years as the Internet has been building out, you know, there places, you know, demand for we'll say data sharing and data storage has become huge. Just look you know at the amount of data that you store personally on your, on your iPhone or in the icloud and then you pay for pay for that, you know, through Apple or if you're using a Google phone through Google's cloud run by which is run by Andrew Android. The I'll say artificial intelligence in my view is you know, that we'll say it is now Internet 3.0. They had the Internet starting then you had the cloud and now you have artificial intelligence which enables you to get a lot of the information from, from the cloud and have it we'll say available faster and in better use than it had been before. But I'll go back even to the cloud and the need for data storage. I do not know about you but I have got, I take a lot of pictures and those pictures need to be stored someplace they're not. They're no longer sitting in boxes after I've had the negatives developed or worse or having stored negatives in cool dark places so I could reuse those negatives at a later date. The cloud, the cloud which is part of you know, data storage and part of the data centers, you know, continues to, to expand and each one of us, you know, has to store our own data. Now almost go a little further with I'll say we're coming come back to favorite Apple and their, their new Siri program which will be introduced June 8th at their worldwide Developers conference. Should this program which will use Google's Gemini as source be as successful as I, I think it will be over the, over the coming months. Apple's product is designed for we'll say personal, more personalized artificial intelligence and personalized use using some of your own stored stored data. And that could be, that could help in terms of privacy and help help you individually. Of course there's going to be an extra fee for that, which I believe I'll gladly pay for that service, just as I gladly pay for increased increased data data storage. But going back, Blackstone investing $5 billion with Google and to use Google owned chips is a big step both for investors and I'll say both for investors in Blackstone and definitely for some of the larger players around the Internet, whether it be Google, which is now the second largest company by market cap capitalization, Nvidia, Apple and Amazon going to be very, very interesting going forward. Forward. We'll find more about that tomorrow after the market closes when Nvidia reports their earnings.
Chris Reivers

Episode Title: Trump steals almost $2 billion of your money to re-distribute to his friends
Host: Joe Soucheray ("The Mayor")
Panel: Chris Reivers, Kenny Olson, John Haidt (with the "rookies")
Podcast Network: Gamut Podcast Network
Episode #: 1781
Date: May 19, 2026
In this episode, Garage Logic dives deep into what the show dubs as “Trump’s latest $2 billion redistribution scam,” unpacking the news that President Trump has diverted federal funds into a discretionary commission, raising alarms about corruption, government overreach, and the future precedent this sets. Alongside political commentary, the show discusses oil shortages, growing economic anxieties, local Minnesota news, and the cultural distraction of major sports events.
As always, the crew approaches the topics with signature sarcasm, skepticism, and thick Minnesota common sense, balancing world-weariness with biting humor.

Garage Logic delivers its content with a blend of dry wit, irony, and a decidedly skeptical “regular guy” tone. The hosts are quick to lampoon political actors of all stripes but reserve particular venom for overreach, hypocrisy, and distraction—whether it comes from Washington or City Hall.
The discussion is wide-ranging, cohesive, and rooted in the hosts’ affection for common sense, civic virtue, and a healthy suspicion of government at all levels.
This episode is a must-listen for those seeking irreverent commentary on current political scandals, the existential energy crisis, and why, in the opinion of Garage Logic, Minnesota values (and American ones) are under siege from all sides — all delivered with the show’s signature blend of fatalism and wit.
