Just a heads up to you folks sitting with a notebook and pen Mishke the new podcast here in Garage Logic Land is now coming out twice a week, Wednesdays and Fridays. Friday is spelled just like it sounds. You're going to be okay there, but Wednesday's a bugaboo. Let me tell you people. Just a pain in the patootie.
D
Jeez, it's hard.

D
Got a question for you, Pat.
B
Yes, sir.
D
What is the. What is a sports fan supposed to think? Anthony Edwards congratulating the spurs with seven minutes left in the game.
B
I think they're supposed to think he gave up. That's what I think they're supposed to. Yeah, I thought it was a little early. I thought it was a little early to say the least. But I think that we just celebrated the first week in Minnesota sports history where both the basketball team and the hockey team lost and were eliminated in the playoffs. First time ever because they'd been in there. But yeah, now we're supposed to blame it on dissension, right?
E
Yes.
B
We just didn't get along that well. There's a little jealousy going on which doesn't speak well for the coach's future, but had nothing to do with it. They were not as good as they beat Denver, which was a pretty even match. Right. So apparently we got our, we got our feelings together to beat Denver.
D
Right.
B
But we played a team a lot better than us with a 7 foot 5 monster in the middle who's going to win about seven NBA titles. And now we're trying to say we just got to get a little better attitude. It's all horse crap and it's the NBA and feeling, you know, only five of them are out there. Everybody can't shoot. Some of them might want to shoot a little more than they're shooting. But if you're that worried about it, go help Anthony bring the ball up the court so he doesn't have to have the ball all the time getting double teamed. Do something. Get off your dead asses. It's not because you're not getting enough shots, but you weren't good enough to beat that team anyway.
D
Well, okay, I'm not ready to let Anthony Edwards go.
B
Okay, so.
D
But it'll just be let go. It's no big deal.
B
Well, it's sportsman. It's become sportsmanship. You can do that.
D
Eight minutes left in a basketball game is an eternity.
B
Yeah, you can do that with a minute left, two minutes left. If you want to. If you feel that. And the trouble is the I'm sure management, I'm sure Finch and the rest of them weren't real happy, but they really can't call him out. Right. If he go, if, if he gets unhappy and doesn't show up for training camp or something, then you're completely screwed.
D
I guess what I'm going to do on your council is I'm just Gonna let it go. We're not gonna worry about it.
B
I'm gonna let it go. But it's. It was stupid and, you know, we're not talking about a brain surgeon here.
D
I know.
B
Although rumors are that instrument down there that gets him in some trouble.
D
Yeah.
B
Has been taken care of. Oh, that's. You know, that the.
D
Removed or.
B
No, not removed completely, but it can't do any damage.
D
Okay. Okay. Well, he's got seven or eight kids.
B
Yes. Right down there, you know.
E
So what you're saying is they're trying to prevent an Adrian Peterson situation.
B
Yeah. Where he's got like 14 of them instead of.
E
Right.
B
I. I think now they're a. Hell with it. We'll. We'll send along there. This is Monday night sports talk. We could say anything. Supposedly, at one point a year and a half ago, there were three of them in various baskets going on there. And we married one. We kind of. The other one. The other one he sent a check to, and she was flashing it for. Remember, 100,000. Yes. Gave her a check for 100,000 to get it. You know, to not have the urchin urchin make it to the finish line. So. Yeah, he's a.
D
Is he married?
E
He is now.
B
Did he marry that guy?
E
I thought so.
B
Didn't marry girl.
E
Oh, maybe.
B
I think he's cohabiting.
E
Got it.
B
Okay. That was the older one. That was the. Scotty. Who was it? That was that. Yeah, that was the older one.
D
It's a.
B
It's a. It's an issue, but I don't think he seems to be able to shake that off and play. Don't seem to bother. No, it doesn't. It's a different world, Joe. It's. It's a different world and. But the idea, the notion we're trying to sell that. Oh, boy, if Dante hadn't gotten hurt, we would have. We would have killed them. You know, it's stupid. You know, it's. They're not good enough.
E
The only shame of it is you do feel like this collection of this team missed its window when they lost to Dallas, you know, the first time they made it.
B
Yes, they did. That was.
E
That was the year that they could have. They could have won the whole thing.
B
They lost in five, and they couldn't guard Kyrie and Don Chick, but, yes, they could have.
D
Who won? The Pistons Detroit game. I'm sorry. The Pistons. Cleveland killed them in.
B
In Detroit.
D
I forgot to look that up.
B
Yeah, I looked at it. There were 20 ahead, but, oh, seven minutes.
D
Maybe that's when they started congratulating the Cavaliers.
E
Yeah, Cavaliers and the Knicks play tomorrow
B
in the Garden series, though. I think the road team won like five games or something.
E
Speaking of that, did you get. I was reading a piece. Was it si.com, i can't remember, Nick. Fans who are very. They travel well.
B
Yes.
E
Because it's so expensive to go to a game at the Garden. They were all saying, well, this is great. We got another game in Philly. I'm gonna save some money. It's cheaper to get on a train or take a flight, get a hotel and go to a game in Philly.
B
It is funny how there is like this Spike Lee culture there of Knicks fans that are just as hardcore as can be, even when they stink. You know, it's. It's really weird, you know, but Tibbs was looking good there at mid season when they weren't playing good. Now all of a sudden they're. They're happy to rid of Tibs because they're. Looks like they're going to go to the finals. But.
D
So who's going to be in the finals in the East?
B
Cavs next play.
D
Cavs next.
B
Who's home?
E
The Knicks are the home team because they're the three seed.
D
Who's the finals in the West? Lakers. Spurs.
E
No, spurs and Thunder.
D
Spurs and Thunder, Yeah. Lakers.
B
Lakers didn't make it out of the first round.
D
Oh, yeah.
B
All right.
D
Thunder and Spurs.
B
Yes.
D
Who can win that series?
B
Both of them. Either of them. Thunder are probably favored, but they're both. It'll be great.
E
They're both good.
B
One of them went 64 and 18 and the other one 62 and 20.
D
Oh, okay.
B
These are real teams.
E
Plus I think San Antonio beat them four times this year. Something like that.
B
As I said, the only problem that the Timberwolves have is those teams are better, younger and have more draft choices. Outside of that, we got them.
E
We're good.
D
I wonder what hockey can do about its timing problem. Because the Hurricane will have at least two weeks of not playing a game by the time they take on. They've been done for a week.
B
What are we waiting for?
D
Montreal and Buffalo?
B
Why do we make them? Why do we make the games that far apart?
D
That's what I'm saying. They got a problem because Carolina won. They're eight.
B
No, I know. Okay, but did are there now some nights that they gotta wait three days to play? It can't be that long. Even if you play. Even if you play seven games and you only play four, you should Be done in a week.
D
That's all I know is Carolina will be off at least for two weeks. By the time they take on either Buffalo or Montreal.
B
How about Carolina has turned into this juggernaut. They got that cheap ass as their owner. The owner of the. What basketball team he owns. Phoenix basketball team.
E
The Carolina owner?
B
Yeah.
E
Is that what you said?
B
Phoenix basketball team. Hold on here.
E
Well, look, is the Phoenix basketball team is Ishba.
B
No. Okay, that's him. Who?
E
I'm going to look it up.
B
Who just had his Hurricane. Owner also owns basketball.
E
Tom Dundon. D O N D. He owns the Trailblazers.
B
He owns the Trailblazers. In the playoffs, the support staff had to check out of the hotel at noon when they was. When they were there.
D
So.
B
Because he didn't want to pay the late charge for them, even though. So this means, like, they got to do all this stuff. They got to prepare tape and all that stuff. They had to go someplace else to do it. And he's. He's just this cheap SOB that now he wants to pay his new coach like a million or million and a half when everybody in that league's making six. You know, he's just a cheapo. But he did the same thing in Carolina and they won.
E
Hey, let's draw a parallel. Are you ready? This guy, his name is Tom Dundon. He was born in. He went to Southern Methodist University. He's from New York City. He began his business career working in used car dealerships. He's Red McComb's part two.
D
What is the source of his fortune?
E
Real estate, primarily.
B
And in the Dallas area.
D
Yes.
B
Well, he's got. He's got to have some billions, but he's apparently just a cheap ass.
E
Health care services, real estate, finances.
B
Health care, you can cut down there, you know.
E
There you go.
D
Buffalo and Montreal tonight, game seven.
B
Finally. Who are you rooting for?
D
Well, what do you think?
B
You're still rooting for that?
D
Yes, yes. And I did. They just got beat in Montreal 7 3. Yes.
B
Well, that series has been goofy too. Montreal's 12 in a row. Yeah.
E
Can you imagine that viewing party?
D
But I want to be done with hockey. It's getting warm out and I don't
E
what's better than hockey on the TV with the garage door open?
D
Well, yeah, when we get to the finals, I might have to stay.
B
We still got two more rounds to go.
E
Yeah, well, that's a good point.
B
This is. That's a long time, man.
E
Happy Fourth of July.
B
Yes, that's right.
D
That'll be June 15th or something. Geez Louise.
B
Yeah, you can. You know what's the good news is though, if you want to stop and get a drink on West 7th, you don't have to worry about a crowd. So that's good. You know, you can. You stop at Tommy's. You can get a sandwich.
D
They almost had. They could have had one more payday.
B
One more payday? Yeah. How about the Year place? The downtown or going out? He just said the hell with it. Was it business or.
D
I don't know why he's going out.
B
Just selling it sounded like. Well, it's probably financial, but he's.
E
Rook would know.
D
Rook's the.
E
I know a guy.
B
Sounds like.
D
He just.
E
He said it's partial retirement. Partial cost of doing business in the Metro and just to hell with it. I'm down.
D
Plus he had the sinkhole for a year now.
E
We put the cone in though.
B
He and Reed had the sinkhole.
D
Just drive around it, go around it. Big railing up.
B
My wife is a big fan. Fan of these kind of everything. Cookies at Cosetta's, right? At the French bakery.
D
Yeah.
B
I was going to stop there to buy her some when I was after being at their clean out on Friday. Yeah. And you got no chance. You got no chance to park anywhere on. On West 7th. I would have been like 6 blocks away by the time I parked, so.
D
Well, just as well.
B
Yeah.
D
You know, you all. You had the intent.
B
I did, yeah. I did.
E
I thought.
D
Yeah.
B
Usually you know what's in everything?
D
Cookie.
B
Well, I don't know. They got stuff. It's kind of an oat raisin one, but it's got a few extra things in there.
D
Yeah.
B
Oatmeal raisin. But they also. Then you can also get for me a cannoli, so. Oh, yeah, that's not. Because you get to see them. Why they spray right in that cannoli. It's not sitting in there for an hour with the sprint. They. They fill her up after you buy it. Oh, what's. Is there.
D
Is it a sweet or. Cannoli? What's a cannoli?
B
Cannoli is a Italian thing that's wonderfully pastry, but they spray either chocolate or vanilla or some damn thing.
D
Okay.
B
And then if you're driving in the car, you pretty much got to pull over if you want to take a bite out of one. Otherwise you'll have cannoli all over. So it's very. It's very dangerous. It's dangerous because you can go flying out of there.
E
That is one that was an inspiration to one of the best Soprano scenes of all time. Because Christopher had to go get the box of cannolis and he was mad about something, so he threw him on the pool table and Paulie grabs him by the neck. Don't bleep up the bleeping cannolis because they wanted their damn cannoli. Don't mess them up.
B
And Christopher, man, he was a. He was a great, troubled Garrett.
E
Oh, yeah, he was.
B
He was a troubled Gary. We still haven't figured out, though. Where are they rushing? Was it. We never found him enough. We never found him in the forest.
E
He chewed through the duct tape in
B
the trunk of Paulie's car that he was gonna show up and, like, shoot somebody or something. But he never showed up. He just got away. But that to me, the Russian in the woods and those two idiots trying to figure him and Paulie was because they didn't like each other. Anyway. It was fantastic. That might be my favorite episode ever. Or do we think he got shot? Is it 100%? He got shot at the end? I don't remember.
D
I think it's 100%.
B
No, but remember, black.
D
But you can't do anything. He's dead. He's dead.
B
Yeah. Right. You can't bring him back.
E
And the best. Pat, remember, he's on the phone and Tony's trying to convey this message to him. And it's all staticky. The cell phone connection in the woods. Yeah, he said. Turns out he's a Russian interior decorator. Because it didn't go through. He's like. His apartment looked like bleep.
B
How long was it on?
E
It debuted in 99.
D
Six years, I bet.
E
No, it was. I think it was longer than that. I think it was 99.
B
It wasn't good for James. Waistline. When you see the original. Okay. Look at it at the end. You're saying, holy Christ, James. You know, let me see. Too many cannolis.
E
Too many cannolis.
B
And then he dropped down. We.
E
We started her up in January 10th of 1999. And the final episode was June 10th of 2007.
B
So eight years.
E
Eight years.
B
But he, you know, he didn't make 60, did he? No, he dropped dead pretty, pretty. Pretty soon there. So it was fantastic, though. Every Sunday night.
E
51 years old.
B
Wow. That's all I'm alive. He looked older than that when he was. He started the series.
D
He ate a lot of cannoli.
B
They were. That wasn't just a prop. Right. Show. He liked his cannolis That's.
D
Now that basketball and hockey are done,
B
we got our fighting Twins.
D
Are the Twins gonna gain some, some public attention? They had a good crowd over the weekend.
B
Crowds over the weekend with the Brewers. And they weren't terrible earlier in the week either. They.
D
I think that Houston tonight, you know,
B
I think the disgust that people feel for him. Well, there's still baseball fans that just go to the baseball game and they don't, they don't look on Twitter how much they're supposed to hate the pole ads. So, you know, there's still fans, you know, that show up.
D
When will Royce Lewis go to the minor league?
B
Maybe today. I heard a rumor.
E
Really?
B
I heard a rumor that they were ready to gas him, but I haven't seen anything official.
E
What a disappointment. That's.
B
Oh, man, he's terrible. And he's, he's, he's.
D
Wasn't he the great hope at one point?
B
Well, God, two years ago, every other at bat, he had a grand slam, for God's sake.
D
He's blowing routine double play ball.
B
Then he got hurt again, and now he's. Can't play third. He can't hit. He can't, you know, he's, he's. It's, it's sad. And then was it two weeks ago he said that doesn't seem like they got any confidence in me around here.
E
Well, well, you're not even hitting.200.

E
Doesn't he strikes me when I heard that quote. He strikes me as one of these guys because it's a product of that generation where he constantly needs to be told how great he is. He strikes me as one of those guys.
B
Yeah, you know, we know you're gonna get through it, Rice, you know.
E
Yeah.
B
And.
E
And there are guys that are just like that.
B
Unfortunately, after a point, you just say, you know, Bryce, it's, oh, you ain't doing it. And then they started hitting him ninth. That. That. That was pretty.
E
I got your line. I got your line. Here it is. Ready? Oh, you don't have headphones on. Here's your line right here.
D
Pat, I'm rambling on, and I don't mean to, but we wish Danny well.
E
That's the line. But yeah, on Valencia. We wish Danny well.
B
I gotta call tk. I haven't seen him.
E
Somebody stole his line. I was listening to a national sports radio show over the weekend, and he said, you know, guys have to learn golf. The ball just sits there. That was a TK line. He would say. It's just hard. The ball just sits there, doesn't move.
B
I gotta do this. I gotta talk to you about golf. But I watch. I'm trying to watch the PGA tournament.
D
Rona Mink.
B
I hate it. I. I like the Masters. They can still. They got funky shots. They don't. They don't feel bad if they make birdie. But they take these old courses and they turn them into rocks, and you cannot aim for the. You got to aim 25ft away from the flag and then hope you can somehow drop in a 13 foot putt. They're so worried about defending the turf, defending the real estate, that they just make it ridiculous.
D
I don't know the history.
B
I don't want to watch golf for 14 holes and never see a guy make a bird.
D
I'm tired of this treeless movement, too. Oh, God, I'm tired of it. I hate it. It's everywhere. It's in the Twin Cities. It's at Aranamink.
B
It was at the traditional.
D
What a bunch of bs. What was the. What's the great Oakmont? No trees whatsoever. Were spawned one last year. Yeah, no trees.
B
Oh, we're so happy. It's still.
D
Oh, we have to have no tre.
B
No trees. But we also have rocks that you're heading into. If it doesn't rain, there's no birdie. Roy McElroy hit it good all day. Didn't make a birdie for like 14 holes. And then he finally hit it. Dick Blueston told me that when I was talking to him, you know, he'd been around forever. We got. We got Edina high school kids who go to the range and hit it 300. We got high school kids hitting at 300. The real estate doesn't work. No, but the answer shouldn't be making it impossible to land a ball. If you land a ball 15ft from the pin, it shouldn't end up in the rough behind the green or down the hill or something. That's the only thing they can do to defend them.
D
But so the Iranomyck people, they're probably thrilled.
B
Oh, God, yes.
D
Because the winner was 900.
B
900. But nobody else was but five or something. Aaron Rye was five. Yes.
D
So it was a great story.
B
Indian kid, his dad was born in England, you know, he's from India. Well, you know, if you want to look back a little, Britain and India
D
had a relationship, I think they did
B
for years, you know, and India, Britain had something called the. The colonies. They had a pretty big. They had a pretty big footprint. And the wife is from. The mom is from Kenya and was. Was from India. Part of her family was from India. But they moved to Kenya because you did that back then because you had the colonies and you moved to places, you know, and then. But this guy is now second generation.
D
He was born in England.
B
He was born in England and so
D
was dad and had a very modest upbringing.
B
Yes, right. Where did he practice? At some public course down the street.
D
But you notice he had iron covers.
B
Yes.
D
And he ended up telling a story about how his dad sacrificed to get him some irons. And they came with covers and he still uses them. Because. Because. Because. Yeah, that. And they really took care of those clubs. And the old man would clean them every night, you know, with a pin and baby oil. I don't know where the baby oil came from. What would that do? But they cleaned them and then he put the covers on them.
B
So do have a bunch of strangers showing, young strangers showing up on the leaderboard.
D
Well, then the opposite of him was the guy who won last week before the PGA rattan.
B
Yes.
D
Who's Norwegian, I think.
B
Yes.
D
And his father's a multi billionaire, so he's. So you got all these different cats in there, and it's.
B
But there's probably more of the rich kids than the. Than the poor ones.
D
Well, what about Maverick McNeely?
B
His dad is one of the founders of what? His dad. His dad's worth hundreds of.
D
Well, Maverick's got his. He's got a pilot's license and the whole deal. Well, his name's Maverick. That's all you need to know about him.
B
Two, three years ago when he was here, and the first couple of days he was in contention. And Dad's got some dough. I can't remember. Look up Maverick McNeely's father. All right, what's. What's company that he helped start. This is a tech company that was extremely successful. I just can't remember which one it was.
E
Scott G. McNeely. Is that who you're looking for? American businessman. Computer company, Sun Microsystems.
D
I think that worked out.
B
That worked out, yes. Sun Microsystems. I think he sold it. I saw for now this is years ago for 900 million or something like that. So Maverick. Maverick likes golf. He doesn't need golf. He likes golf.
E
His children are Maverick, Colt, Dakota and Scout.
D
Everyone is floghornable.
E
Yeah, I will take care of that.
B
But, you know, if they were in front of us at the station ceremony and like they.
D
What stage? What do you mean station ceremony?
B
At the state fair. Oh, yeah, the state fair. Yeah, we. And we found out dad had half the money in the world, we wouldn't fuck hard. We give him. We'd say, man, that's a hell of a good name.
D
Because there were some names that appeared that we happen to know the background and they didn't get a fuck.
E
No, they got a special.
D
That dispensation.
B
Yes, they did. The whole crowd kind of protest, thought
D
we turned on them. What's wrong with you guys? Oh, this is a good name. Hell, there's a sane somebody. Yeah, that's fine.
B
We had to wave the St. Neil anyway, but yes, that was. But yeah, Maverick, nice kid, you know, as he's got a. I think he had a fiance with him at. At that he was getting ready to marry.
E
I'm gonna guess she was an attractive.
B
I believe she was. I followed him around a little bit and there was a attractive last following him around. Not a big crowd there, but he's played damn well the last couple of years. He's been. He had to be top 25 last year. I think he was good, you know, and he could afford lessons, you know. Yeah.
D
Aaron Rye, 31 years old. He's never won? No. Well, I don't know if he's. He's never won a major.
B
How long did he play in Europe?
D
Well, he came up through all the ranks.
B
Did he do the European tour? Yeah, all the Asian dirt and all that. So the European tour is now the dp, right?
D
I believe so.
B
That's the D. And that kind of consumed both Asia and it's kind of the foreign tour, right?
D
I don't know of which you speak when you say the word tur. You mean tour the tour.
B
Some people say that.
D
I know from folder. They say he's on the turf.
B
That's right. That's right. I met the new boss today at the Star Tribune for the first time.
D
I didn't know you had one.
B
Yeah, we just got new one. She's a young, she's a gal from Louisville. And, and she's well new boss.
D
What?
B
Editor. Sports editor.
D
Oh, sports editor.
B
Sports editor. And, and they, they reported me when I came in the Chris Miller and Nyla said I know you like the lead to get to the point but Patrick, that's not, that's not his idea.
D
Sometimes you got to turn to the jump strong point.
B
And I, I, I told her the tale of when Anders Gilling hall came in as he didn't went to Miami. But the jelly the, the parent of the. I think he's the, what is his.
D
Jake Gyllenhaal.
B
He's Jake and the gal our whatever nieces, nephews or something and, and Chris Glenn Trevier, who I got along with.
D
Great.
B
The sports editor said, I just gotta warn you that I've never listened to a guy who wants the nut graph at the top of a story. You know, the lead that tells you who I when, where, how you know. I said damn, he's got an adjustment to make, doesn't he? But I, I, she seemed to enjoy this story, but I'm not sure.
D
Is she a Younger gal?
B
She's 41. Yes, sports editor. Sports editor. And well, good luck to her. Yes, good luck to her.
D
And who does she replace?
B
Ryan Costeca. We had Ryan and then Ryan took a job as the, I think he's the sports editor of the new California Post. The New York. The only paper to start up really in recent years. The New York Post is now publishing LA version really. California Post. And the New York Post is basically the last paper in the country that worries about print. You know, they still want you to buy it when you're coming in on the train. There aren't as many people that do that, but they cover everything, cover all the teams.
D
The days of papers available at airports and hotels are over.
B
Over.
D
Yeah, you can still get a local paper at the Minneapolis airport.
B
You had to trip over the the USA Today. Of course we got it free in front of the hotels for years.
D
It was, it was nothing in hotels anymore.
B
No, there aren't they, they have turned on us like rattlesnake.
D
Paper boxes are slim.
B
Are there any left?
D
Not, not that I've seen. So it's tough for a guy like me that wants to sit in a hotel and read the papers.
B
Well, you know, Saturday, like, Saturday isn't bad. We got more pages if you want to read about Thursday's events on Saturday. It's terrific, you know, really. You know, I. I don't. Yeah, I'm having a hard time adjusting.
D
You're the only guy I can think of that I can't put in a truck. But we got a lot of people listening who drive trucks.
E
That's right. Rosedale Chevy.
B
I think you could put me in a trunk if I had.
D
Rosedale Chevrolet is a business elite dinner. God, I do it again. I keep saying they're a dealer.
B
They're a dealer.
D
Every kind of truck you need is at Rosedale Chev. Because they're a business elite dealer. And the guys on the floor got 75 years experience of selling trucks. County road C and Interstate 35 in Rosedale. Box trucks, pickup trucks, dump trucks, stake trucks. Every kind of truck you need is available and in stock now at Rosedale Chev. I met these guys the other day. They're GL ers. They love their trucks. And people come from far and wide to get a truck at Rosedale Chev.
E
You know who could join the process of outfitting their own box truck with you and rookie is Patrick Pat.
D
You can even buy the blank chassis and create your own truck.
E
I think you three. That would be a fine project for the three.
D
Wouldn't that be something?
E
Brooke, put the panel up this way.
D
He wouldn't have a clue, would he? They'll answer all your questions. They have all the trucks at Rosedale Chevrolet, county Road C in 35 in Roseville and website is Roseville Chevy.
E
I have to share something with both of you. We had the big schedule release party. The various teams put a lot of stuff on social media. I wish I would have thought as this before we started the show. You have to find the Tennessee Titans schedule release. Have you guys seen this? That's on social media. So they walked up and down the streets of Nashville. I'm guessing these are all tourists and whatnot. They'll have the logo. Hey, week two, the Titans are playing and they'll show the. The Ravens logo with the Patriots. Well, no, but they were these people who clearly knew nothing about football. They would say, oh, they're playing the twins, you know, like. So they had random people trying to guess the logo of who the Titans were playing week to week. It's really, really funny.
D
I would have guessed that people would have gotten them all correct.
E
Well, I. That's. I think they must have just Selected the ones that guessed.
B
I thought that you were gonna tell me that they were making. Playing the Patriots and they're making Mike Vrabel former coach.
D
Pat, I think the playoffs took a night off for the NFL schedule release.
B
They probably did.
D
So there's one of your.
B
I can raise my hand and tell you I learned today, listening to something that we opened with the Packers.
E
That's right.
B
I learned today.
E
That's right.
B
When. When did the rest of Thursday after Thursday.
D
Thursday. That a big television special.
B
They're going to play them twice. I don't give a damn when they play. Yeah, I don't either. We start with them and end with them then.
E
No, we end with the Bears at home. But we play the Bears in Week
B
2 in Chicago, indicating we get like the finish with three home games or something like that.
E
I think you're right. Yeah.
B
Yeah. You know, I think they're a great mystery. I have no idea if they're going to be good or not.
E
Joe, we were so advanced on the ride with Royce. We did the schedule release, win loss with the baseball schedule. We went all once,
D
62.
B
Then we'd come back, you know, we'd take a break. April 17th, we'd come back like we were.
D
God, you're only in June.
B
We'd come back like we were still. Yeah. June. June 8th. I don't know. Chris, what do you say?
E
Well, there might be a problem.
B
Yeah. Yeah. Right. Then we'd take another break. That'd be August 14th.
D
Yeah. I don't understand.
B
I still think the failure of that was we'd come in every day and said, what could we do to piss off the listeners today? Not a good strategy for long term.
D
It really isn't.
E
May 16 at home against Detroit.
B
Olympic year. We can tell them all that. They're all waiting to watch the event and we kind of go.
D
I'm anxious to get back to the twins and pay attention to them a little because I've been immersed in these playoffs. Yeah, they're done. I gotta watch the ball club.
B
I think there's. I got. As I said Friday, I told you, Quinn was very optimistic about returning here.
E
His quote was, at least, yeah, I'd like to.
B
It'd be easier if we got it done this summer. But if we don't.
D
Okay.
B
I don't think he has it. Dying desire to play with his brother.
D
I think that's a myth.
B
I think it's a crap.
D
Hey. Picture in the paper of Quinn and a bunch of the guys, including Kirill. They're At Maynard's in Excelsior. You know, Saturday or Sunday was gorgeous. Or Saturday and Quinn said, I like it here. Well, I got news for you. Anyone would say that if they were at Maynard's on Lake Minnetaka. It's 80 degrees in the middle of May and there's yachts pulling up and wonderful looking people and. Yeah, I'd like it too.
B
Handsome molasses.
D
Yes. Everywhere you look, they're tying up your boat.
B
And most of them are hanging out with a dork who would love to say hello to a hockey.
D
So I was thrilled to see that he likes it here until I saw where he likes it here. Everybody likes it there.
B
Yes. What the hell. We all. We all like it.
D
He and Kirill live in the same building. Really? Yeah. I don't know what that means. An apartment complex somewhere. I don't know. With that kind of money.
B
Somebody pointed it out to me. It's right downtown, I think St. Paul. It's down. Somebody. Where is it?
E
What you're saying, Joe, is you should ask him that same question. When it's the middle of January, we just got two feet of snow and it took him 45 minutes to go six blocks in the metro area.
D
Or you're walking across Rice park and somebody's bugging you for tickets and they don't even know who the hell you are.
B
You know what? I want him to hide. Obviously. Him. But the big guy too. He turned out McCarran. He turned out to be a hell of a lot better player than we thought. He was physical. He was useful. He was good. Yeah. He's. You know. And they don't have an abundant position.
D
Wanna know what I'd do?
B
What?
D
I'm done playing. As fun as it is to watch him, he. Hughes, Faber and Boldy needed lung transplants in the third period of that game in Colorado. I'm not playing him 32 minutes a night. I'm sorry. You gotta. You gotta use them more wisely.
B
Yeah.
D
You gotta leave them. Have something left in the third period. Wasn't that he had nothing left.
E
Was part of it due to Brodine and Ek being.
D
I'm sure it was. And they missed those two terribly.
B
It's not just that game. They'd already.
D
But you've used them since the day he got here.
B
Yes. And once the playoffs started, they. You know. Don't we love talking about how Quinn. Hey. That Quinn played 34.
D
No. This is stupid.
B
You look at him. He's not. He's physically impressive.
D
He's not a big Kid. Give him some time to sit down once in a while.
B
He is fun to watch. Nice kid, too. I mean, he was. I hadn't heard him do a fairly long interview. He did ten minutes. He was.
D
He's all right.
B
He was great. He was not. He didn't seem like he was. He's makes no attempt to bsu. You know why? He doesn't have to. No. I play 30 minutes a night, and there might be one guy in the world as good as I am at defense, so.
D
But I'll be a lot happier next year if they pace the guy. Just pace the guy. Let him have something left by the time we hit mid May.
B
Doesn't make any difference with you. You know, Buddha, you know, you're gonna. With this stupid system. You're gonna play something, somebody very harsh in the first round. So that's, you know, we. What we forget is they were supposed to lose to Dallas and they beat him in six games. Well, he's probably a completely failed postseason because you finally got out of the first round.
D
Well, he probably doesn't want to be coddled either. No, he doesn't need to be coddled. But somebody's gotta. Somebody either Guerin or Heinzi, they gotta say, look, this can't continue.
B
The other thing. They went to Italy for three weeks.
D
Yeah.
B
And while everybody else was resting, sitting on their ass.
D
Right.
B
He was playing 28 minutes in the living. Now, it's not the same, it's not physical, but it was still highly emotional stuff.
D
Yeah.
B
And he and Baldy were playing 20. I mean, not Ian Bowley. He and Fever favor. They played his ass off too.
D
I. I agree.
B
Together.
D
Do you think there's something to the theory that Kasparov would bet Caprisov would benefit from international competition? He's never had it.
B
No.
D
He's never experienced it.
B
It would probably. Yes. He wouldn't, you know. Well, stop going home.
D
Did he go home during the Italy break?
B
Yes.
D
Oh, for Pete's sake. Why would you go to Moscow in the dead of winter?
B
Have something going on there?
E
I can think of one reason.
B
Yeah, but they got that you can get there. Why don't we get. And naturalize him and make him a US Citizen? Get away from that evil spot. Although they're not so evil anymore, in the opinion of our chief executive order of the nation. They're all their big buddies here now. He and pootier pals.
D
He loves himself a dictator.
B
He does. How about the thing?
D
Look what they can get away with.
B
How about the thing? Today, 1.7 billion to defend people who agree with me. What is this? What is going on?
D
Beyond my comprehension.
B
It is. It is beyond everyone's comprehension. But, you know, everybody's entitled to their own opinion.
D
You think so?
B
Yeah, I know. You know, I sent out a tweet, pro flag tweet the other day.
D
The new flag.
B
New flag. I did it. People swallowed it whole. They swallowed it.
D
They come after you.
B
Oh, God. Yes, I said. I know. I was talking about, you know, somebody said. What? I said something about somebody moving out of state. He says, it's all about taxes. I said, or Wisconsin. He said, move to Wisconsin. Taxes. And I said, we're more benevolent. We worry more about the underprivileged in this benevolent state. Plus, that new flag wasn't that cheap, but it said dandy. They went nuts. They got me on two.
D
Yeah, we worry about the. None of whom ever received a nickel. The people who needed the money never got any help in this state.
B
No. No, we didn't. But we were very. We were trying those.
D
No, we weren't trying.
B
Well, those of us paid the taxes.
D
We did our job.
B
We did our job. It's just that some of it got misplaced.
D
Some of it got misplaced. About 9 billion everywhere you look.
B
Well.
D
And your paper had the great story Sunday. It was five years too late. It was a great story. And yet. Problem is all these people who say, yeah, we knew what was going on. We were told not to do anything about it. They won't name any names.
B
Yes, that's.
D
Are they fear for their lives? I don't know.
C
What.
D
Why in the hell won't you tell us who ordered this?
B
I think it's probably a good thing, though, that the current governor, if I being a dfler. That I am sure you are. I think it's a good thing that the governor is not running for reelection.
D
That must be the consequence. He's going to suffer.
B
Yes. Right. Yes. They might have the only gubernatorial candidate who could win. The way things are going here.
D
She's got a lot to answer for,
B
but not as much as the other.
D
Oh, of course not.
B
Yes. Anyway. Anyway. What the hell.
D
No, I'm still rolling. You got your new truck. I want you to go home, put it in your garage. It has a new floor installed by Installed Building Solutions. I got the old kind of.
B
My neighbor got the new floor.
D
Well, I got the old kind of epoxy floor. It's 18 years old. These guys knew Polyure flooring. That is amazing because it doesn't fade. It doesn't crack. It's got a non. It's got a non slip texture which is important for guys like us. You know, you go out there and you slip in the winter, you got the new knee. These guys can do it most often in one day. Get your garage back quickly. It'll look cleaner and brighter and it's just nifty. You can spill on it and clean it up. Installed building solutions. These guys are giles. They know what they're doing. This is the latest in technology for the best garage floors. And you can, you can find them at IBS. What is it? I don't have the IBS solutions. IBS. Well installed building services. It's installed building services.
B
IBS make sense.
E
That's right.
D
IBS solutions. Solutions.com. and then just book the appointment and talk to these guys. It's fantastic.
B
We can't be done yet. I gotta tell you, I'm ready. We got the, you know, we, we fear falls at our age, you know.
D
So I've been practicing standing on one leg. Can you stand on one leg?
B
I don't think so. But the. But I could stand on two which I couldn't do before. But, but so the other night where we want to turn on the hose in the front and it's kind of.
D
It's a big project.
B
Katie, watch the toes. And I said, you know, wants to turn on the faucet out there. And I said, you got my permission. I don't care, you know, but you
D
gotta go in the house somewhere.
B
Well, yes, but it's behind the bush that she has the bushes in the front to turn it on to make sure it's going. I'm downstairs watching a game or something and I hear this screeching. Patrick. I don't think much of it because
E
Patrick turns the volume up on the tv.
B
Patrick brought it out. Now it's getting to be a high
D
pitch degree now you gotta react there
B
she's laying ass backwards in one of the bushes. Oh no. It was. She wasn't injured. Yeah, but it was comical.
D
Oh yeah, yeah. But of course you can't laugh. Well you can.
B
When I got her up, I got her up. But then once again it comes around to Patrick.
D
Yeah, it's her fault.
B
She said go downstairs and get the two faucets going. The one in the front, the one in the back.
D
I said, you got to turn it on different rooms. Okay.
B
And they have to get. I need a, a one step ladder to get to the one that goes in the back.
D
Yeah.
B
And a two step Ladder to get the one in the front. Yeah. But she set me down there to turn on the one in the, in the back. Yeah. I said, well, I think it's fine. I touched it. But the one in the front, I was making sure the one in the back worked while the one in the front, which I thought I'd flipped the lever, but I hadn't. So a day later I said, you dumb. The reason I couldn't turn it on was because we didn't have it on downstairs.
E
I didn't flip the lever.
B
I said, that's a problem, buddy. But you were sure funny looking at that bush.
E
You know, I was gonna ask about that because upon. Upon your discovery of the DA Stuck backwards in the bushes. Say, hold on, I got to take a quick selfie.
B
No, I did, I did, but I
E
got to put this on Twitter.
B
Had to pull her up. She had twigs and stuff and you know, if it had been me, we would have had to call the fire department.
E
You know, that's going to. That's going to do some damage in the game of flaws.
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So.
D
But they're all on now and everything's fine.
B
Yes. Fortunately, she never. She doesn't get many reports on what are said on the modern Monday night sports talk. So revealing to the world that she was stuck in a bush.
D
Well, she was not injured. She was not injured.
B
It was not. It was just nothing fatal. I think she was somewhat embarrassed.
D
That can happen.
B
You don't want to be.
E
And you didn't respond on the first call for Patrick nor the second one.
B
Somebody. I thought maybe the kids were, you know, the neighbor kids were swimming in the backyard or something because I heard Patrick and is the pool open? Screechy.
D
Oh yeah. Clean.
B
Neighbors have enjoyed it already. Yeah, the new baby. The new baby was in the pool of the. They got a, like a seven month old or something was in the pool yesterday. Poor kid. Good looking young girl. She got no hair. I keep saying, when are you gonna get hair? Yeah, I mean you got hair like this.
D
This is the baby, not the mom.
B
Everybody's fine. Every wholesome looking kids. Except the baby.
D
Yeah.
B
Doesn't have hair.
D
Oh, Pat, often, often infants don't have here.
B
I know, I'm sure she's gonna get it.
D
She'll probably eventually get here.
B
But I'm having fun teasing her about,
D
oh, you got a kid.
E
What's the deal here?
B
Yes.
E
Come on, just some real games.
B
Let's get some here going on here. Yeah, she's. Anyway, she's a cutie, but she's bald, so that's that. That cuts into it. All right.
D
All right. Goodbye.
B

Host: Joe Soucheray ("The Mayor") and team
Episode Theme:
A classic Monday Night Sports Talk episode: The gang dives into the wild end to Minnesota's winter sports season, the curious timing of the NHL playoffs, the evolution (or decline) of sportsmanship, local sports figures, and plenty of digressions into golf, food, local business, and daily garage life. Common sense, dry wit, and a healthy dose of irreverence prevail in Garage Logic’s particular flavor.
This is Garage Logic at its finest: local sports heartache, skepticism about sports narratives, old-school wisdom, and a big dose of the real, messy, funny stuff that happens in between.
