With all the pressures of the modern world and some of the unrealistic and often toxic online influences out there, it's no wonder that so many of us guys are finding things difficult. But it's okay to struggle. And real, true strength comes from opening up about what you're carrying and doing something positive about it for your own sake and those around you. If you're a man and you're feeling the weight of the world, talk to someone. A friend, a loved one, a therapist. Those conversations are so important, and in my experience, they only ever deepen the bond between you and the person listening. As the largest online therapy provider in the world, BetterHelp can provide access to mental health professionals with a diverse variety of expertise. So talk it out with BetterHelp. Thomas (2:24)
Welcome to get Sleepy, where we listen, we relax, and we get sleepy. I'm Thomas. Throughout this meditation, you'll be bathed in the sound waves produced by various instruments such as singing bows, gongs, chimes, and other resonant tones. You'll want to make sure you're nice and cozy, so find a position where you can safely relax and fall asleep if the mood takes you. Once you're comfortable, consider what physical adjustments you could make that would allow you to feel just 5% more comfortable. Maybe that's shifting pillows, blankets, or clothing until everything feels just right. Choose where you'd like to place your hands perhaps alongside your body. Face up or face down. Or maybe across your belly or your heart. Whatever feels most natural to you. Now close your eyes and consciously soften the muscles around them. Then soften the muscles of your face. Relax your jaw. Connect to the rhythm of your body. If your mind begins to wander somewhere pleasant, that's perfectly fine. You can let it linger there. If your mind begins to wander somewhere else, that's okay too. Just let it go and then reset by turning your awareness to your breath. Take a full breath in through your nose. Pause for a moment and exhale with a sigh. Let's do that again. In through your nose. Pause and let it out. With each exhale, notice how your body softens a little more. Allow each breath to draw you deeper into relaxation and gently shift into a natural rhythm of breathing, one that flows through you with ease. Rest your awareness on the breath as you notice the sounds around you. Allow the sounds to simply wash over you. There's nothing you need to do or think about. Just be present and let the vibrations guide you. The sound waves are meant to be both heard and felt physically. This is what guides us into deep relaxation. You may notice tingling sensations or waves of emotion as we move through the sound bath. Just allow yourself to be immersed in the sound and pay attention to what you're feeling, both physically and emotionally. Continue allowing tension to melt away from your muscles as your body relaxes more and more.
