Kirby
G L a M Los Angeles.
Sarah
Hi, Kirby.
Kirby
Hi, Sarah. Welcome to Los Angeles.
Sarah
Okay, I have something for you. Close your eyes. Close your eyes.
Kirby
I know what it is. Open your eyes. Oh, my God. It's all a boob.
Sarah
A different boo boo. She knows what it is, though.
Kirby
Okay.
Sarah
Oh, and it's open.
Kirby
Oh, it's not the surprise.
Sarah
Well, no, because. Well, it could be, actually.
Kirby
Oh, one could be. Okay, okay, okay. So apparently Sarah has like, a labubu dealer.
Sarah
I do, but he's all tapped out now, so I can't help anyone. I can't help anyone else.
Kirby
I feel bad because I really do not care about these.
Sarah
No, but you. But this one, you should. Cause it's so cute.
Kirby
And she was like, if you got a labubu, what would you want? And I was like, for me, it's the coca Cola one. That's the only one that I would even, like, really gravitate towards. So thank you. Okay. I have to open it.
Sarah
You have to open it.
Kirby
You have to do an unboxing. You have to do an unboxing. Okay. We know that these are loosely based off of where the wild things are. Monsters.
Sarah
They're monsters.
Kirby
This gives me the same feeling I feel when I see the Cheshire cat.
Sarah
Yeah. Unsettled up to no good.
Kirby
It makes me feel ill. Yeah. Like, that's why when I see people with them, I'm like, that's why I need to pray.
Sarah
I have this. Well, this one's with me today. I think this one's maybe with the eyes closed. It's like a little.
Kirby
I think I'm okay, but it's like, oh, it could be sleeping ready to attack at any time. It still makes me feel queasy.
Sarah
Have you seen Chloe? How do you say her name? Chloe Fineman. Feynman.
Kirby
Feynman Fenneman. I don't know.
Sarah
She did this video. I'll have to send it of her doing an impression of a labubu. And it's exactly what I picture. It's like, I'm mean, but I'm really cute. I'm cute, but I'm really mean. No, that's literally it. Okay, well, now you know which one you're getting.
Kirby
Is this. Is it the Coke bottle? Yeah.
Sarah
Open it.
Kirby
Is this a car refresher? What is that?
Sarah
Okay, so you don't have a bag. Cause this one's a special one. But now you know. Wow.
Kirby
It has a Santa cap on.
Sarah
I don't know why it has a Santa cap on.
Kirby
It's a Christmas version. It's a Christmas Boo Boo.
Sarah
Wow.
Kirby
Wow.
Sarah
Are you gonna.
Kirby
Now I feel like.
Sarah
Like, are you gonna put it on your purse or are you gonna put it in a display in your house?
Kirby
Probably. I'll put it in my office. I'm a little. I mean, honestly, I am a little unsettled still looking at it, but now I feel slightly territorial over it.
Sarah
Yeah, it's yours now. It's yours.
Kirby
This is mine.
Sarah
This is your child. This is mine. It's so cute. Look at the Coca Cola bottle.
Kirby
Oh, my God. I have cute aggression now. Okay, it is kind of cute.
Sarah
Oh, yeah. You can, like, take the hat off if you don't want to. I feel like people customize.
Kirby
We kind of look alike.
Sarah
That's what Benny says. That's what Benny drama says.
Kirby
This is so. I really didn't get the. Like, this maybe is not my truest match, because. Sarah.
Sarah
Yeah, I. Yeah, I do. I know.
Kirby
Like, acquired it, like, specifically for me.
Sarah
Yeah.
Kirby
But it's kind of just like either having a child naturally or adoption.
Sarah
Totally. So this is adoption.
Kirby
This is my adopted little boo Boo, and I kind of love it now. The feet are freaking me out.
Sarah
You can, like, move it, too, I think. What, like, move the feet?
Kirby
No, the arms move.
Sarah
Oh, my God. I can't wait till Quinn sees this.
Kirby
Quinn? Is she not gonna be happy?
Sarah
She might.
Kirby
Quinn's my real life labubu.
Sarah
Yeah.
Kirby
This is exactly what Quinn looks like.
Sarah
Oh, I like her nose. It's pink or it's red.
Kirby
I cannot believe it has a Santa cat. A Mexican coke in a bottle.
Sarah
There's nothing better in life.
Kirby
Truly. Truly. Thank you for my first.
Sarah
You're welcome. You're very.
Kirby
Maybe I will put it on my bag because I have a red bag.
Sarah
Oh, yeah. Just don't let anyone snatch it.
Kirby
I know. Because, like, this might be a special one.
Sarah
It is a special one. It is a special one. Yeah.
Kirby
Thank You.
Sarah
You're welcome. You're very welcome.
Kirby
Okay, now that we have given birth.
Sarah
To the Labubu out of the way, let's talk about a product or two that we're currently working. Really excited about. Okay, you start.
Kirby
Sure. So I went to this Kosas masterclass at Kosas headquarters this past week, and they had teased that we were going to be the first to try a new product that was launching. And it was really cool because I, you know, you and I have known Sheena, the founder, for a very long time. Right. When she launched the brand back when they were in, the lipsticks were in the black crazy block packaging, when she had the highlighter blush duos.
Sarah
And I think I still have those lipsticks.
Kirby
Yeah, I have them expired. Yeah. Hidden somewhere. Like, in, like, a library. Totally.
Sarah
Yeah.
Kirby
We got to go through our entire makeup routine with her guiding us and explaining, like, how to use each of the products.
Sarah
Okay.
Kirby
And I thought it was really helpful for me because I really did not, like BB Burst when it launched. I thought it was an interesting concept, but then when I would use it, I just felt like it was constantly piling up in one area, and it was hard for me to actually utilize it because it's like a BB cream with moisturizer, and it's like a very hydrating formula. And I was just like, this is not my favorite. But then she provided us both foundation and the BB burst, and I didn't have the shade I needed in my foundation, so I used the BB burst, and I started going. And I think she could tell. I was like, what the fuck is going on here? And she was like, you really have to work it in with your fingers, and then you can take a brush or sponge and buff it out. And I felt like my complexion looked so beautiful. Once you get past the idea that it's not gonna instantly just, like, rub in, like, you have to really work it in. You kind of have to mix both the actual coverage with the hydrator that's within it.
Sarah
Well, we remember, like, when BB creams came out, like, you had to. It was almost like you needed to burst it to, like, really get that color out.
Kirby
Well, like the Eborian ones, right? Yeah. Because they had those color correctors in it, but. And this is, like, a similar mechanism, but it's an actual foundation. It's supposed to match your skin tone. So I was very excited to go. We did, like, our whole face, I was able to do. If you go to my Instagram, you can see the makeup I did. I used All Kosas. I only use Kosas, like brushes, tools. My eyeliner that day was so good, and I only used the actual eyeliner, so I used the smudger to clean up. I used the end of the, like, the little sharpener that they have on the end to make it super sharp. And I was very happy with it. So I. I felt like I fell in love with Kosas, like, all over again.
Sarah
See, I feel like it's always so helpful to have those classes to, like, one, refresh you on all the products, and two, really learn how to use it as they created it, as they intended you to use it, you know.
Kirby
And then you learn more too. Like, Sheena is very wellness oriented. Like, she's very in tune with spirituality. Kosas itself is like a spiritual term that she used to to name the brand. And so she was going through, like, this is why our packaging is this certain color or whatever. We got to the eyeliner. So the eyeliners are called, like, the Soulgazer eyeliners. I love these eyeliners. I use them all the time. They come in black, brown, but then like a red brown, and then like a blue black and then purple. Like brighter shades that you would want to, like, make your eyes pop. And she was like. Because I wanted people to be able to look at your eyes and think how beautiful your eyes are, not just like, oh, your eyeliner looks great. So. So then basically, like the sister to that now is this new mascara that they launched, and it's called Kosa Soulgazer Mascara.
Sarah
Cute.
Kirby
It's very cute. I love the component that it comes in. Initially, when she was telling us about it, I was like, I'm gonna hate it because it is a silicone brush, not bristles. And I was like, I just never gravitate towards a silicone. I don't think it grabs my lashes and makes them look as, like, long and voluminous as I want. But. But I was like, whatever. So I started using it. It's not a tubing formula. I know that's a question that's, like, really popular now. Is it tubing because it will keep from transferring and all of that stuff? She said that basically there's a mechanism in this particular formula that is similar to waterproof, but it's not waterproof. So it's easy to remove, but it's not supposed to transfer. However, it also is not waterproof. So if you have a problem with your lashes not curling, this may not. You might have to use, like, foreplay from Too faced as a Primer first before you curl your lashes. But I'm wearing it right now. In the images that we took at the event from Max Brauner, like, people were like, are you wearing falsies? This is crazy.
Sarah
Lashes look so long.
Kirby
I'm really impressed with this. I think it's because the way that this particular brush looks to me, it kind of looks like bristles in a way, the way that it's structured.
Sarah
Yeah.
Kirby
The best part about it, in my opinion, is that you can keep applying and it won't clump. So, like, I'll just, like, go in and, like, bump every, like, couple of hours if I want to, like, add a little bit more. Va, va, voom. And I've been very impressed. Now, they. I asked Gina. Yeah, they did have a mascara.
Sarah
Yeah. Okay. Because I was like, I thought they had one.
Kirby
So they launched a mascara in 2020 called the Big Clean.
Sarah
Yes. Okay.
Kirby
And I think that this is my interpretation of it. At the beginning of a class, she was like, you know, we were one of the first makeup brands to really, like, fall into this clean category. But, like, clean is not something that we promote.
Sarah
Yeah.
Kirby
And so I was like, interesting.
Sarah
Yeah.
Kirby
Yes. They do have clean marketing on. Like, if you're reading a box, like, clean. Whatever.
Sarah
Yeah.
Kirby
Clean at Sephora, and it's clean at Sephora. But I think they're trying to walk back the clean narrative in a way and focus more on it being makeup for skincare freaks, which has always been like, a tagline of theirs, instead of it being, like, this clean, darling. So I don't think that a product called the Big Clean really falls in line with that. I also don't think that product was as beloved as other Kosas products. I used it and I liked it, but I never gravitated towards it again.
Sarah
Did you help her with it or, like, did you consult? No. Was that not that mascara? I think I did. I feel like you did.
Kirby
Wow.
Sarah
I'm like, I feel like you consulted on it.
Kirby
Yes. I thought it was. I liked it, but I wasn't like, this is gonna be a go to for me. It had a curved wand, and I think it actually was a bristle brush. And I think that's why I liked it and made my lashes look nice. But it wasn't, like, my favorites, like, Mac Gigablack Lash or now, you know, Maybelline Falsies or whatever. And so I asked her, I'm like, is this in addition to the Big Clean? She said, no, we have sunsetted that product. This is our Sole mascara. So.
Sarah
Wow.
Kirby
We were the first to try it. It comes out July 31st. It's going to be the biggest launch for them. And I think that if you deal with irritation with mascara, this could be a really good option. It'll still give you that length and that fullness that you're looking for. But because you can reapply it, you don't have to worry about, like it irritating your eyes in a way. Like, I feel like the formula, there's no other way to describe it. It's a soft formula.
Sarah
Okay.
Kirby
So I haven't ever experienced, like, I've been wearing it for the past five days. I think it doesn't have fallout. Like, it doesn't have flakes. Like, it doesn't fall. Like, I love some new mascaras that have launched, but I've been seeing flakes on my face later. But it's like a soft formula. So it's like if you are reapplying it, you don't have to worry about it.
Sarah
It's like pretty lightweight.
Kirby
Yeah.
Sarah
How is it removal wise?
Kirby
So easy. Like, it just comes right off. It's not tubing though, so it's not like it's sliding off your lashes. I always use an eye makeup remover.
Sarah
Though, so like, that's mostly where it comes off.
Kirby
Yeah. I'm not like looking for my mascara to like wash off my face when I wash my face.
Sarah
How much is it?
Kirby
That's a good question, I believe. Don't quote me. It's gotta be like 28.
Sarah
Okay.
Kirby
Maybe less. Maybe more.
Sarah
Less than 30, probably.
Kirby
It's probably less than 30.
Sarah
Yeah.
Kirby
Again, we are like the first people to have this. And I was looking. It's gonna be obviously at Sephora. It's probably in line with like a benefit mascara too. Faced mascara.
Sarah
Yeah.
Kirby
I am really loving it so far and have been. I've been like in a really good mascara kick. Like, I've been finding so many mascaras that I like, totally obsessed with, like Maybelline Falsies, Lash Lift, Love.
Sarah
Yeah.
Kirby
The new Mario mascara bomb.
Sarah
Yeah.
Kirby
Also really love Mobs mascara that they just launched. That one's like, I feel like it has a thicker brush. So if you really like, if you struggle with a thicker brush. Not for you. And then this one, I just feel like we've been getting banger after banger.
Sarah
Technology of mascaras have really come a.
Kirby
Long way and so many mascaras are launching, like, I think it's like a mascara year for sure.
Sarah
Yeah. That's exciting.
Kirby
So, okay, what product have you been into?
Sarah
Okay, okay. Kirby and I have been really obsessed with the Violette FR Lip Nectar. It's been amazing. Right.
Kirby
It's such a beautiful product.
Sarah
Beautiful product.
Kirby
And Kulfi makes a similar version. Do they? Yeah. Kulfi launched first.
Sarah
Okay.
Kirby
And they have one that has been viral on TikTok that when I would go to Sephora, I could not find a shade to match it.
Sarah
Oh, yeah. Okay. Okay. So I haven't tried that one. So it's like a. It's a hydrating lip stain is how they describe it. It's $29. It really is like a stain. It goes on like a gloss, stains your lips and then you. It. You know, I feel like it lasts a long time and then. But then you're like reapplying it for that kind of gloss. So I've been wearing that a lot. However, colourpop recently launched a very, very similar product. This is the Hydra glossy lip stain. They sent me a bunch of shades. You probably have seen this too, because they partnered with PopSocket to do a very a la road. I don't have it with me, but. Because I just use my road phone case. But they have a popsocket that you put in the back and then you stick your colourpop lip gloss in and it's super cute. So I don't have that yet. I mean, I have it, but I don't have it on my phone. But I was like, I need to try these because the colors I think.
Kirby
Do they have a larger range?
Sarah
They have a larger range.
Kirby
Okay.
Sarah
So the Violette, I think they only have like three shades.
Kirby
I wanna say four.
Sarah
Four shades. Okay.
Kirby
And then I think Kulfi only has six.
Sarah
Okay. So the Hydra pop gloss has seven shades.
Kirby
Okay.
Sarah
They have seven shades, but the range is really good. So there's like a light nude to a pink mid tone pink, bright pink. There's a red browny plum and a deep berry. I've been wearing 90s babe, which is like this like brownie plum shade and blueberry marg, which is sort of like this like rosy pink purple.
Kirby
Oh, my God. Okay. You know what's so funny? We need to have a conversation about color. I would not describe either of those that way.
Sarah
Okay. This is like a what, a mauve?
Kirby
I would say mauve. That's more of like a pinky mauve with maybe like a rose. Like you're describing the other one as rose. I'm like, that's like a rose pinky mauve to me.
Sarah
Okay. Okay.
Kirby
And Then that one is more of.
Sarah
A berry, like, no, no, you're right. This is more berry. I said brownie pump because that's how they. They described it. But I do think this is definitely like, a mauve, like you said. And you're right. This is like a berry. I'm not very good at color description.
Kirby
No, I just think it's interesting because people have different perspectives on what certain colors are. Oh. You know what I mean?
Sarah
Yeah, no, totally.
Kirby
Like, some people think something is green, and I'm like, that's.
Sarah
Oh, yeah. No, I do have this conversation with Zoe and Kate all the time. Well, Kate doesn't really know his colors very well, but it's always like, that's blue. And I was like, no, girl, that's green. That's green.
Kirby
That's green. I'm constantly telling people something's green, and they're like, no, it's blue. And I'm like, am I? No. And then I'm like, I think I'm losing it.
Sarah
Am I? Do I need to get my eyes checked?
Kirby
Yeah, yeah.
Sarah
It's very strange. Okay, so I'm. The one that I'm wearing right now is the Brownie Plum Mauve 90s, babe. And I've been getting a lot of questions about it.
Kirby
It's very pretty.
Sarah
Oh, my God. I'm obsessed with it. It goes on like a gloss, like the lip nectar and probably, like, the kulfi. I do feel like the stain lasts longer.
Kirby
Oh, really? Okay.
Sarah
And I feel like it's a little bit. So my thing with any lip stain, it's not gonna be as hydrating as they promised. Like, there's just no way, because it's staining your lips and it dries down. Right. But this one, I feel like it really doesn't dry down my lips that much. And the stain lasts a really long time. So I've been obsessed. And it's only, I think, $9.
Kirby
Okay. That's incredible. Yeah. I feel like we're gonna see a lot more of this technology.
Sarah
I know. Is this where we're moving? So we were like, lip butters, lip oils, and now we're like, stains.
Kirby
Yes.
Sarah
Hydrating stains.
Kirby
I mean, obviously Sachu with their liner stain, Wonder Skin with their lip stain. And then people are, well, we want the best of both worlds.
Sarah
Totally. Of course. Of course. So I think you can get colourpop at Target now.
Kirby
Can you? Yeah, definitely at Ulta.
Sarah
Definitely at Ulta. You can get it at Target and then I think, obviously on their website. But I would pick these up the next time you are shopping at Target.
Kirby
Wow. I'm going to request these because that's.
Sarah
Sammy Elphis needs to send you.
Kirby
Yes. A bunch for sure. All right, we have. There's not a lot of news.
Sarah
Not a lot of news.
Kirby
But there is, like, one headline that's perfect. Been persistent. We can't get enough of it.
Sarah
Can't get enough of it.
Kirby
We can't get enough of hate watching it. And I have my thoughts on this, but, Sarah, what's going on?
Sarah
Okay, so we have been seeing photos of the upcoming Ryan Murphy series featuring JFK Jr. And Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. They released some stills from what, like a light lighting test. I don't know what it was. What was it?
Kirby
It was a camera test. A camera test, which is something that you do to make sure the lighting looks good. It's also something that you send almost as not proof of concept, because it's already been greenlit. But to the studio to say, this is what things are looking like.
Sarah
I don't know why they decided to share it with the public, because I feel like anyone who saw those photos would have been like, no, we're not ready yet. We're not ready yet.
Kirby
So, yes. Okay, so keep going. Keep going. Because there's more.
Sarah
So the first initial critiques were of their clothing. I think that was the first thing I saw immediately. They were like, what in the Zara Temu is she wearing? Because she is an icon. She is a fashion icon. 90s minimalist fashion icon. Like, she is just the epitome of chic, right?
Kirby
Capricorn.
Sarah
And she's a fucking Capricorn publicist. I'm like, come on. Everything she wears, it just like, she can make anything look really, really expensive and really, really beautiful and effortless. So effortless. And she's, like, not wearing a lot of makeup, Barely any makeup. You know, her hair's thrown in, like, a messy bun. You know, it's a kitten heel. It's like just the slip dresses, whatever it is. But you're like, oh, my God, I need what she has, whatever this energy is. Then it moved on to the hair, which that, to me, was, like, glaring. I was like, oh, my God. So, Kirby, what was going on with the hair?
Kirby
Okay, her hair was way too light. It was like Elsa from Frozen Platinum. It was platinum. This was also, though, during the lighting test.
Sarah
Lighting test.
Kirby
Okay. Then we get images of production actually happening. She's, like, running through the streets of New York. You see, like, a guy with a camera rig, like, following her, she's holding, like, a little. And she's wearing this silk miniskirt with a blazer and Chuck Taylor's.
Sarah
Yes.
Kirby
This is when I joined the angry mob. Because when Ryan Murphy released those stills of the lighting test, I was like, these never. Pun intended. Should never have seen the light of day, literally. He was clearly so excited and wanted to share in that excitement. But we never should have seen those.
Sarah
No.
Kirby
I'm sure wardrobe was so upset. And probably hair and makeup as well, because the likelihood of them using those. Those clothing. That clothing, those wigs is not. It's like what they had around and on set. And like, I talked to. When this was all happening, people were really upset about the lighting test. I was asking my friends that work in hair and makeup on films, like, is this final? And they're like, I just don't know why he released these, because they never would. This would never have, like, gone to set.
Sarah
Yeah.
Kirby
Then I was. But then we see the Chuck Taylors and I'm like, what the fuck? She was this.
Sarah
Literally probably have never owned a pair of Chuck Taylors.
Kirby
Well, we all. You're gonna eat your words in a second. Because thankfully we have really great fashion journalists that, like, get to the bottom of these things.
Sarah
Okay.
Kirby
So the first thing I saw was from Amy o' Dell. She has an incredible newsletter, Back Row. Please go pay and subscribe because she does amazing work. And she said that in her early days, according to the book Once Upon a Time, the Captivating Life of Carolyn Bessette Kennedy by Elizabeth Beller, Carolyn did in fact wear Converse.
Sarah
Okay. Because she had to run around New York, busy publicist.
Kirby
And then I got a DM from someone who is, let's just say, very familiar with what's going on with production of this show and said that that particular scene was before she was a Kennedy. So it was pre meeting JFK Jr so she was younger and she was not the immaculately dressed power publicist that we remember.
Sarah
Okay, okay, okay.
Kirby
This is further confirmed because then Lauren Sherman of Puck's Line Sheet, another amazing newsletter. Please go subscribe. Talk to Ryan Murphy himself.
Sarah
Okay.
Kirby
Okay. And love or him or hate him. This is why I like Ryan Murphy, because he does not do bullshit.
Sarah
Yeah.
Kirby
So he's like, let's get on a phone call. And I love reading the transcripts of her interview with him because they didn't make it polished. So, like, what he's saying to her and what she's saying back, it's like their actual conversation.
Sarah
It's literal combo. Yeah.
Kirby
And he confirmed that nothing in those test shots, including the wig, would be used when filming. Those were photos that he had to show the studio. And that by releasing them, he was thinking that maybe the paparazzi would back off of the actors while they're filming in the city.
Sarah
Oh, God, I'm sure it was even worse.
Kirby
Totally backfired. He also confirmed that they are filming in chronological order and that that sneaker discourse that we were all so pissed about, myself included, was in vain because there are personal photographs that they are referencing for that particular look.
Sarah
And that's what you have to think, too. When all of us are yelling at.
Kirby
Ryan Murphy, he's like, this is not my first rodeo. What are you talking about?
Sarah
Right. And they have this whole team of people.
Kirby
Exactly. Well, exactly. Not only that, but they have an advisory board of 10 people that he said he didn't feel comfortable saying their names quite yet because he didn't want to use them for clout before he got permission to. But they are people that, like, friends. Friends study her. Like, have archival pieces of hers. And that in the fall, before the series comes out next February, they're planning on doing these mini short films on how they landed on particular looks of hers and what they did to source them. And if they couldn't actually source them, how they're replicating them and who they're working with. And that they're going to actually invite some of the dedicated fashion blogs. Cause Carolyn Bessette Kennedy has a worldwide fan base to this day, dissecting every look of hers.
Sarah
Totally.
Kirby
It's kind of like the Olsen twins, except they're still alive. And those fashion blogs will be invited to get a preview of that, which I thought was really cool. You should subscribe for Pucks in Her Circle. I finally did it to read this whole Ryan Murphy interview.
Sarah
Okay.
Kirby
And it's really illuminating. And I think it just proves that we all collectively need to touch grass.
Sarah
Okay.
Kirby
Like, we are not running these productions.
Sarah
Totally.
Kirby
We don't work on set. I'm actually. I'm embarrassed that I didn't wait to form an opinion before getting more information.
Sarah
Which we all should do, by the way.
Kirby
And also, I'm embarrassed for the people that didn't like that spoke publicly in the press.
Sarah
Yeah.
Kirby
Because I'm like, but wait, you could have been a part of this.
Sarah
But what about the hair? Okay, so the hair that we're seeing currently with her wearing, like, the Converse, this was pre.
Kirby
This is pre jfk.
Sarah
Okay? So, yeah. So truly, it could have been that could have been.
Kirby
More and more images have come out of her going on dates with jfk.
Sarah
And her hair was a lot lighter.
Kirby
Her hair.
Sarah
She did not have that toffee.
Kirby
No, no, no, no, no. Like, still images from set of actress Sarah Pigeon going on a date with the guy that plays jfk. And her hair color is different.
Sarah
Oh, her hair color is different already. Okay, good, good. Got it, got it, got it. So the hair colorist who used to do Carolyn Bessette Kennedy's hair when he was saying his name is Brad Johns. Margot and Buba. She interviewed him for Vogue.
Kirby
Yep.
Sarah
When he was saying they got it all wrong, he is referring to the camera lighting test photos.
Kirby
Correct.
Sarah
Okay.
Kirby
Which. That wig was never going to be used.
Sarah
Yes.
Kirby
You can even see when she. They post a video of it when she turns to the side.
Sarah
Yeah.
Kirby
You can see that her hair is not even laid down properly.
Sarah
Properly.
Kirby
She has a huge hump in the back of her head.
Sarah
Okay. It was just for the photo.
Kirby
Like, no. Nobody working on a Ryan Murphy production would have let her, in my opinion. Wouldn't have let her on set with a bump like that.
Sarah
For a wig. Yeah, for sure.
Kirby
It's a really good wig from the front, though. Like, I was like, is that her natural hair?
Sarah
Totally.
Kirby
But, yeah, it's not the right color, but it changes. And I think the Ryan Murphy, he's kind of being bitchy in a lot of these interviews, but I don't blame him because people are speaking on things when they don't have the full. They've never worked on a set like this. They have no idea all the effort. He said, they're spending so much money. They're like, the money's being spent. He, like, went down all of the. Like, literally a line sheet, like, with Lauren Sherman, of all the items that they have procured that are, like, exactly what she wore in these, like, famous images of John F. Kennedy Jr. And.
Sarah
It'S also, like, we don't know. I mean, now we do, but we don't know when what moment in time that scene is. You know what I mean? Like, the fact that it is in chronological order makes sense now, but, like, all these people are just. Yeah, we don't know anything. We don't know anything. And I would be bitchy, too, because I would be like, let me do my fucking work.
Kirby
Well, Lauren Sherman was like. She said something to Ryan of the effect of, like, it was giving, like, 2023 Zara or something, and he's like, I assure you, like, this is literally we are sourcing this from.
Sarah
This is archival. Yeah.
Kirby
And also this is like, from a personal image we procured. It's not a public one that people have seen. Yeah.
Sarah
And you're also. That's a compliment to Zara then, right?
Kirby
And like, everyone is saying, like, never would have done that. And he's like, I am literally telling you that we have an image of her in these Chuck Taylors. That's why we are doing it in the first place. And she also mentioned something about a water bottle, which I didn't see this image. I don't know if it was just like, not promoted as much as like the one of her walking with the small coffee cup, but she mentioned something about a water bottle that felt really modern and that wouldn't have existed back then. And he was like, it was literally a run through so the camera guy could, like, get his footing.
Sarah
Well, like, calm down, everyone. Like, I thought that the photo of her in the silk skirt with the Chuck Taylors, I thought there was a photo of her wearing a similar outfit with heels. So that's why I think people were like, oh, my God, you got it all wrong. Why is she wearing Chuck Taylor's?
Kirby
So she, like an actual photo of her, you mean?
Sarah
Thought so. But maybe I am just confusing. That's what I thought.
Kirby
Well, I believe in Lauren Sherman's article, he says that she's wearing the Chuck Taylors, she gets into her job, and she changes into Manolo.
Sarah
So then that's probably it. Yeah, Yeah.
Kirby
I mean, I'm team Ryan Murphy on this one. I. I feel embarrassed that I was like, in a comment section being like, she's a Capricorn. She deserves better than this. Like, I don't know anything about Carolyn Bessette Kennedy in terms of, like. Like, I'm not reading these books. Right. Like, and then literally there is a book that's like, she often wore Chuck Taylor's. And I'm like, okay, this is why we can't speak on things that we don't know about.
Sarah
Truly, these experts need to come out and defend him. I know they're busy though, and they don't.
Kirby
I mean, they did. Like, Amy Odell at least did. But again, like, they need to be.
Sarah
Fighting in the comment section.
Kirby
No, literally, I would if I were Ryan Murphy. Like, I called in to ride for the Hitchhike episode. And I go, I don't know if this is probably never gonna be played, but I'm like, we need to start bullying people back. Like, I'm not talking about children. I'm talking about, like, if you are a grown adult in a comment section saying the most heinous things I've ever read about a human being, I'm allowed. If you're gonna say, this person looks like they were drawn by Picasso, I have a right to respond and say you look like you're inbred.
Sarah
Yeah.
Kirby
No, true. Point blank, period.
Sarah
They're gonna play that for sure. That's definitely gonna be included in their episode. But I also feel I. I love when people post. For example, Amanda McCants gets the most insane messages from just gross men who feel like they can say whatever the fuck they want to her. And my favorite thing is her just exposing these gross men on Instagram stories.
Kirby
The men's photos and what they say. Yeah.
Sarah
And she doesn't block out their handle or anything. I'm just like, who are you that you can say this about her boobs?
Kirby
No. Men are deeply unwell.
Sarah
And I'm like, always men.
Kirby
No, it's the most and also like the most. Like nasty looking old women too.
Sarah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Kirby
Like, and I do not like judging people on looks, but I'm like, you're literally doing that. So I'm gonna give you a little taste of humble pie.
Sarah
Yeah.
Kirby
Because what, in what universe are you allowed to be saying this about another woman? Like, this is crazy. This is crazy.
Sarah
And again, if you were in person, would you say that to your face?
Kirby
No, no.
Sarah
No one would ever do that in person anyways.
Kirby
I do think Ryan bucked it up himself though. Like, he never should have posted those. Camera. Love you dearly, Ryan Murphy. Call me. I have some ideas for American Horror Story. We're going to get that back into scary times. But he never should have posted those. I get it. When you're excited. It's giving kids saying they got into a college or something that can actually get into it.
Sarah
There's a little BTS to satiate you, but instead everyone just took it and freaked the fuck out.
Kirby
It should have been the Barbie paparazzi images. Remember when we were seeing Margot and Ryan and Venice Beach? Let it be that don't like post these lighting tests where the studio can still be like, is the hair right?
Sarah
Are the clothes right? Whatever. But apparently everything is fine.
Kirby
Long time, long standing week long national nightmare is over. And they got the Kelly 40 or whatever, the birthday, whatever burger birthday she actually needed. That's full and open.
Sarah
Great. That's the only thing we are worried about in this climate today. In this world.
Kirby
Nothing else.
Sarah
Nothing else matters.
Kirby
No World War 3. Hard pass. Hard pass.
Sarah
We're just gonna focus on the Labubus and Carolyn Bissette Kennedy's hair.
Kirby
I'll find you.
Sarah
I mean, I am also cute.
Kirby
I mean, but I'm also cute. I am a little scared of.
