In this episode, Jeremiah and E are exploring our default behaviors and stress responses and how they don't always serve us well in our everyday lives. Fight, flight, freeze, and fawn can be helpful automatic responses for emergencies, but sometimes they aren't well suited for our more casual everyday interactions with friends, family, coworkers, etc. When feeling threatened, often it can be helpful to instead pause and think, then speak or act, rather than letting autopilot take control and leaping into a stress response headfirst. Here we combine these ideas with Shane Parrish's social, ego, emotional, and inertia defaults.
