Coming up on Great Company.
Jamie Laing
Who is the most annoying person to live with in the villa? Which couple would you avoid going on a double date with outside the villa? Snog. Mary Pie Curtis. Charlie Scott. Who was the biggest game player on All Stars.
Millie Court
Right. Okay, here we go. This is what we're doing now.
Jamie Laing
Who was the Bombshell guy that you were desperate to come in? Are you ready for this?
Millie Court
No.
Jamie Laing
So then, do you love him?
Millie Court
Hi, I'm millie call and I' great company.
Jamie Laing
Were you worried that the producers might bring in Liam?
Millie Court
I was. Yeah. And I said to the producers if he was to come in, I would leave the show.
Jamie Laing
So you go into the USA villa and then you see Zach. Yeah, he's a good looking dude.
Millie Court
So fit.
Jamie Laing
We asked him to write you something. Should I read it to you?
Millie Court
Yeah. Oh, my God. That might be the sweetest thing anyone's ever said to me.
Jamie Laing
People I think forget is that it's an entertainment show. Right.
Millie Court
Of course. Just wanting to constantly make sure that you look good because if you don't, you're getting trolled on it and it's going to give you a complex. They would troll me on if I put weight on. They'd like, question me having respect for myself. They would troll me about my chin. So I got filler in it to get rid of that. And it just absolutely consumes you.
Jamie Laing
What about Lucinda? Because you and Chloe were good friends with her. No.
Millie Court
Yes. Yes, we were. Yeah. Okay. And online, everyone's going, oh, she slept with Toby or she slept with Liam. I don't think people really understood, dude. Lucinda.

Millie Court
Hi, I'm Milliecore and I'm in great company.
Jamie Laing
Milli can. I'm so excited for you to be here.
Millie Court
I'm so excited. Thank you for having me.
Jamie Laing
Get out of here, man. Okay, so with tv, right? For me, because I have a baby now. I like, come home and I would, like scroll social media or I look on my whatever. When Love island all stars won, it's like the first. I sat every night watching. It was like the greatest TV I've ever. I think I've ever seen. I was obsessed.
Millie Court
Congratulations, by the way, on the baby.
Jamie Laing
Thank you very much.
Millie Court
Secondly, can't believe you watch that every night.
Jamie Laing
Every night.
Millie Court
So the baby was in bed by that point?
Jamie Laing
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Millie Court
Yes.
Jamie Laing
But sometimes I was rocking the baby
Millie Court
and I was still watching screaming on the telly. That didn't wake the baby up? No, none of it, no. Well, I'm glad you enjoyed. Was quite a rollercoaster in there. Intense at times, but I had a bit of a sort of a rocky start as well. Like, I wasn't sure what I was doing, who I was with. And, yeah, ended up meeting Zach halfway through, which was. I think that's what made my journey better. And I then, after that, fully enjoyed it. But before was. Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Is it scary going into one of those situations?
Millie Court
I think I was more scared the first time I went on, like, four or five years ago, like that series. I remember just being a nervous wreck before I went in and the walk in, I just. I couldn't wrap my head around what I was doing. I remember in holding. You're in. You're in quarantine because it's right around Covid when I first went on. And. Yeah, so we had to do quarantine for two weeks to make sure you didn't have Covid or anything. We were all, like, clean and, like.
Jamie Laing
Clean.
Millie Court
Yeah, clean, yeah. No germs, no Covid. And I was all good. And we. Yeah, that whole two weeks, I was just. I couldn't sleep. I was just like, what am I doing? I'm about to go on one of the biggest shows in the uk. Like, this is crazy. Luckily, I was walking in with someone. I walked in with Lucinda, and I think having her to lean on really helped. But then going through that whole experience, this time around, I was definitely more confident. I'm older. I sort of. I'm sure of myself now. And I was like, okay, I know how it works. The first time I was like, I'm actually on a show. All these cameras. You're going on these dates, and you're on a date, and there's 20 people all with cameras watching you, and you. You've got a flirt. And it was really quite awkward, and I was embarrassed and I was shy. So this time around, it was easier.
Farnoosh Tarabi
Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Cause it's an intense thing, isn't it? So intense also because you were in series seven.
Millie Court
Yes, I did.
Jamie Laing
And so when you walk in, then, you know you have to do that, like, walk in and you have to, like, be confident and flirty, and that's like, really un. British as well. Like, as soon as someone Says to you, like, be confident. You're like, I can't.
Millie Court
Can't tell me to do it. It has to come naturally. But it was like, I think, because the first time, not being on TV before the first couple of weeks, it was just such a weird feeling. And everyone in there, I felt, was so much more confident than me. And then around my friends, I'm super confident. And then being actually around other people who are naturally confident, I was like, oh, I'm not. But I thought I was, and I'm not. And it took me a while to sort of get to grips with it all. And, you know, you have to make friends. You've got my friends. Can you not know anyone?
Jamie Laing
That's funny how that happens sometimes when you're. When within your group, you're the loud one, or within your group, you're the funny one or the smart one or whatever it is. And then when you go into another group, you actually have to become. Sometimes it can make you, like, lose your identity a little bit.
Millie Court
Question yourself.
Jamie Laing
Yeah, yeah.
Millie Court
And I thought. Oh, I really thought I was this confident person. And I actually am around people who are way more confident than me. And I kind of probably lost myself a little bit for the first couple of weeks, the first time. And then once I was comfortable with people, I realized I think I'm different in scenarios when I'd know someone when I don't. And I think I maybe fake the confidence around people that I don't know. Whereas with my friends, I'm naturally confident. But this time around, I'm. I was naturally. I think, because I kind of knew what I was doing, getting into, and I'd done it before.
Jamie Laing
Did you ever practice your walking at home?
Millie Court
Well, no, because I don't have a long enough, like, pathway to practice it.
Jamie Laing
Did you ever look in the mirror
Millie Court
and go, yeah, I did try on my walking bikini with my heels. And I was like, does this look good? Will it look good on telly? Let's see. But I had to give them five different options of what my walking outfit would be. And I had one in my head that I was like, yeah, this is the one I want to wear. And, yeah, they chose a different one. And I was like, oh, okay, I'm not wearing that one now. But my chaperone, she was like, yeah, you look hot in that. It's great. She was picking me up, so I felt confident going in.
Jamie Laing
Yeah, but it's one of these things, right? Because I did reality tv.
Millie Court
Yeah, of course. I've watched every single Season.
Jamie Laing
Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Very glad. But it's one of those things, right? Which is. It's like a real risk.
Millie Court
Oh, yeah.
Jamie Laing
To go and do a show like that. Because you don't have control of the edit.
Millie Court
Nope.
Jamie Laing
You don't know how you're going to come across. You know, your family, friends, you're a great. But your friends may judge, your parents may judge you. It's kind of like an isolating place to be. Why did you decide to go and do the first series?
Millie Court
I was single for about a year and a half, and to be honest, I applied for it. I didn't get scouted or anything. And it's a funny story. I was at work. I worked. I've got a bunch of friends that I'm friends with when I worked at asos and we were all sat at work together and one of my friends was on a Facebook ad, clearly not working, and she's just scrolling through Facebook. She was like, mills, there's an ad on here, like, for Love Island. Like, you should so apply. And we're all, like, laughing, joking about it. And then I said, oh, yeah, go on then. Why not? Let's do it. So we all sat around the table applying for this. Like, all these questions, and we were thinking of all these funny things to say. Like, it weren't even me. Like, some of my friends were inputting into the answers. I'm thinking, what can we say to that? It weren't even really my personality. And sent it off. Not really thinking much of it. And. Yeah, and then. But I'd say probably about a month later, I got a call and from itv and then I text my friend straight away saying, no way. They've actually just rung me, like, is this actually happening? And they were like, well, just go along with it and see what happens. There's so much you have to do to get onto the show. Like, you have to do a psych test, you have to do, like a full body check at the doctors, you have to have loads of interviews, then you meet the execs and you have to pass all those stages. So I'm just thinking, what are you thinking?
Jamie Laing
What do you think?
Millie Court
You're just like, I'm just thinking, this, this isn't gonna happen, but we'll just go along with it. Like, I don't know. I just didn't. I kind of. Maybe because I was so, like, nonchalant about it that I just thought, if it happens, it does. If it doesn't, it doesn't it doesn't matter.
Jamie Laing
Whatever. Nothing to lose.
Millie Court
Nothing to lose. I'm having fun. My life's great. Like, if this happens, whatever. And, yeah, then I got the call saying, we want you to be on it. You need to leave on the 7th of June and you're coming on the show. And I just. I think until I walked in, it didn't feel real. Because they always say to you as well, you're not going on the show until you're in those doors. Because there's people who get flown out and they don't even go on it. Yeah, yeah. They get taken out to holding with a chaperone, and if they don't fit the storyline, if they don't think that there's a match in there for you, they won't put you in there. So even when I flew out, I was like, still couldn't go on. Like, I might not go on. And then. Yeah. So when I actually was walking in the doors, I was like, right, this is actually happening.
Jamie Laing
Had you watched Love island before?
Millie Court
I've watched every series. I love reality tv. I literally love it. It's so fun. So that was like a pinch me moment. I was like, am I here? I'm here. What am I doing? I'm crazy. But it was obviously the best thing ever.
Jamie Laing
So you had watched the Liv Atwood ones? Yeah, all of them.
Millie Court
And I'm such a fan of the show, which actually altered the kind of way I thought of it afterwards. And I didn't like watching a couple of the series afterwards because I knew how it worked. And I was like, oh, I think they've been produced to do that. Or that's been. You know, that storyline's been made out to be this way when it probably actually isn't like that in person. So it kind of changed the way I viewed it. Then I kind of forgot about it and just enjoyed it for what it is.
Jamie Laing
Because that's the thing with people, I think, forget is that it's an entertainment show. Right.
Millie Court
Of course.
Jamie Laing
And so what happens when you go into the villa, you have to kind of be, in some ways, prod, because you're. Otherwise you're just gonna sit around and just say, like, the weather's good.
Millie Court
Yeah.
Jamie Laing
So you have to make this conversation. You have to make. So it's exhausting. At the same time, it must be for you guys, right?
Millie Court
Well, I think it sounds so silly because we are just sitting in the sun, sunbathing and talking all day, but your social battery gets really low at some points. And you think, I'm doing. We're doing this day in, day out, just chatting, getting ready every single night and going out in the garden, the garden that we live in. And we spent all day in, in hills and dresses. It's such a bizarre thing. But after, I think towards the end of the series, especially if you're in there for the full stint, we all get a bit restless, I think, because we're like, we just want to go home now. And that sounds a bit ungrateful and obviously we're going to.
Jamie Laing
No, it doesn't. But you would do 100% because it is. It's exhausting. And you were in there for how long?
Millie Court
So this series was six weeks, but the first one was eight.
Jamie Laing
It's a long time.
Millie Court
Yeah. To be like, no, no friends that can't contact your friends and family. And even before that in holding, you have no phone. So I think the first time I went like three months without even speaking to anyone that I know. And that was, I think, something I struggled with a lot. Because when you're upset or you're going through something, all you want is advice from your mom or like in My Sisters. And like, if I can't get that and you're, you've got to lean on the producers. And I, I think I fell for them being my friends in there. And then I realized this time I was like, you're not my friends, you are the producers. And I kind of, I clocked it a few times and they knew that, they knew that everyone had done it before and this time it was harder for them to be like, right, you've just got to do this for the show. We're trying to create a good show. And they would tell you that, like, it's going really well. Like, you know, whereas the first time I really thought that they were my friends.
Jamie Laing
I know what you, I kind of know what you mean. It's the same when I, you know, because they needed do their job right, which is create a show. And so what they want is they have to weigh up this balance with like being your friend and helping you and doing, but also producing you in a way. So you're creating good content and a good show. And I think that's the hardest thing for lots of people to, on the outside to understand because on the inside you have no idea what the outside is thinking.
Millie Court
Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Do you? So how nerve wracking is that?
Millie Court
I think, to be honest, if you think about that too much, that's where it will show because there's certain people that I think if you worry about the way that you look, you might change the way you do things. And if you're not authentic to yourself, people see straight through it. But I think this time round, you knew who was trying to create a good show and, like, who wasn't. I don't know. Like, some people have been on Love Island a few times, like Scott and Lucinda. And you know that they're good at it. Right. And they have created some really good tv. Whereas I don't think that I was sort of put in there to do that. I'm not in there to create drama. I was very drama free in that. I don't like that stuff. So I very much stayed out of it. And I probably could argue that was quite boring on there. But I was just there to find someone, and I did with Zach. So we just stayed out of it, you know.
Jamie Laing
Wait, so that's. Yeah. Do you know what's so funny is that I, I. It's hard. I'm trying to relate to the listener. Cause I know exactly what you're saying. When I used to do Chelsea.
Millie Court
Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Spencer and I were really good at the show is because we would hold everything for camera.
Millie Court
Exactly. Yeah.
Jamie Laing
And we used to walk into scenes with each other and we'd call them scenes. Cause there'd be cameras set up and whatever. We knew we'd be filmed. And I used to look at Spencer and I'd go. And he'd look at me and go, how bad is it? And I go, it's not good. And he would then say, all right, let's bring it. And I'd be like, okay. And it would. Cause we knew we had to create. You had to create the entertainment, right?
Millie Court
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jamie Laing
Which is kind of weird from people on the outside. Cause like, well, why would you bring drama or things to a show? But you're doing it because, you know, you have to create an entertaining show.
Millie Court
Of course. And there's a few people that would do that in there. And they'd be like, okay, so we know we're playing this game tonight. We've got a text or wherever Maya's come in. And they would be like, okay, don't say anything. I take to heart. Because let's just do this, you know?
Jamie Laing
Okay. I need to ask you. So, okay. So on All Stars, right. Which, by the way, you smashed. I just want to say you were so great.
Millie Court
Aw, thank you.
Jamie Laing
And I just think everyone. I thought you were gonna win.
Millie Court
Did you?
Jamie Laing
I was like, hands down, even when you didn't win, I was like, what the fuck it? Like, are you kidding me? I mean, did you think you were gonna win?
Millie Court
No.
Jamie Laing
Get out of here.
Millie Court
No.
Jamie Laing
Was there a moment when your name wasn't called? Were you like, sorry,
Millie Court
I think I thought there's no way that they would. That I would be able to get a double win.
Jamie Laing
Because I thought you won series seven.
Millie Court
Yeah. And I thought also, like, if I did, there would be a case where probably people would be fuming that I did as well. Like, because they're like, oh, she's already won. Like, give it to someone else. I honestly didn't care about that. Like, that's not really. You get paid to go on there, right? And obviously you get £50,000. It's shared between you two. But like, that's great. But like, I am still getting paid. It doesn't really matter whether I win that bonus or not. Like, my life is amazing and I'm gonna come out and there's gonna be all these opportunities, which I'm so grateful for. Anyway, it weren't about that. It was just.
Jamie Laing
That's interesting. Cause what happens is. Oh, so it's not about that. Because going into series seven, you're not famous. You don't have a profile. You're kind of just neutral. And then you come out and because you win it and you do so well and you've built your career, you're now you're famous, you're a celebrity. So you're then going into this new series as a celebrity kind of.
Millie Court
And it doesn'. Matter because I've still got my career and if anything, like, wherever I place, I knew that I would come back to have the same thing. So it wasn't important for me to win or even be in the final, you know, it was kind of just, let's do this experience again. Like, it was a crazy. I thought that'd be a once in a lifetime experience to then sort of do it again. I was like, how can I not really. Like, it was amazing the first time. I'll probably gonna have a great time again this time. Hopefully it's not always good for everybody, but yeah, I wasn't bothered.
Jamie Laing
So you didn't mind when you were coupled up with Curtis? Because, man, I was rooting for you guys, was you.
Millie Court
He was quite naturally funny. He was really easy to talk to.
Jamie Laing
Good looking as well.
Millie Court
I said to him in the villa, you're better, you're better in real life. You are. And I think because at that point I'd Been single for like four days. And so Curtis came in and it was very, quite natural between us. But yeah, I think after two or three days with him, I was like, no. But obviously I didn't get a chance to actually, I kind of said it. I was like, we need to slow this down. I'm not sure how I feel. And then we went to Villa usa, so I didn't really have a chance to call it off with him.
Jamie Laing
So you go into the USA villa and then you see Zach. Yeah, he's a good looking dude.
Millie Court
So fit.
Jamie Laing
He's fit.
Millie Court
Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Fit. He's fit.
Millie Court
Unreal. I was like.
Jamie Laing
And such a soft. Yeah, like just calm.
Millie Court
He's so different to anyone I've ever dated in terms of like, I'd say not personality because his personality and eyes match so well. But I'm very much quite like over exaggerating and like my facial expressions or I'm loud and he's the opposite to that. And I've never had someone like that before. And it's really quite nice the way we level each other out because I excite him and then. But he brings me down when. Not brings me down when I need to, but I like it. The vibe that we have is really good. And he's really cool. He's just cool, calm, collected. He's. He'll never raise his voice. His morals are great. His vibe is good. Like. Yeah, it was weird when I met him. I was like, yeah, that's who I want. Yeah.
Jamie Laing
So you're in the villa together.
Millie Court
Yep.
Jamie Laing
How you kiss, right?
Millie Court
Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Does anyone. Does anyone. Does anyone ever. Does anyone ever sleep together in the villa?
Millie Court
Does anyone? Yeah, there were people.
Jamie Laing
Did they?
Millie Court
Yeah. In actual. In every series, like from what you're
Jamie Laing
not thinking, I always think there's a camera.
Millie Court
Like what I think now because it's quite a family TV show, they don't show too much of it and I think we all know that. I can confirm. Me and Zach didn't. Or me and anyone. No, no.
Jamie Laing
Congratulations.
Millie Court
Thank you. I think I was. I don't know. It was a decision between both of us that we were like, okay, this isn't something that I want to do.
Jamie Laing
And did you both explode on the outside? Because that would be. You'd be like, well, there's no cameras here now. So I guess.
Millie Court
Yeah, well, we all have our own little apartments on the night of the final. So like, wow. Yeah, that's. Thank God. Anyway, so it's a great experience once you leave, but I think everyone enjoyed leaving but that was also.
Jamie Laing
He's supposedly a great kisser.
Millie Court
Yeah. It followed through, you know, it's great, great experience.
Jamie Laing
Is it not? Because you've obviously, like, sustained for that long, and then is it a bit awkward? You're like, here we go. It's like a plane taking off.
Millie Court
Do you know what it. And also, it doesn't last very long, which is understandable. But it's like, I felt like, oh, we've been waiting so long for this moment that it's like there's. I put loads of pressure on this now. Now I feel shy. Like, what the.
Jamie Laing
How do we do this again? Okay. Right, here we go.
Millie Court
No, we had a few wines, and it was great.
Jamie Laing
Speaking of Zach, so we asked him to write you something.
Millie Court
What? Really? What do you mean, write me something? No, you didn't. Oh, God. What is this?
Jamie Laing
So he wrote you a letter.
Millie Court
Okay.
Jamie Laing
Shall I read it to you?
Millie Court
Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Hey, Millie Grace.
Millie Court
Awesome.
Jamie Laing
First of all, just want to say I miss you loads. I'm currently on a plane home and separation anxiety is already going crazy. It's so weird to be leaving you right now. We've had over a month straight of each other 24 7. And even though I'm thousands of miles away from you right now, I never felt closer to you. The past few weeks have been nothing less than perfect. Every new experience with you is something I'll remember and hold onto forever. You have no idea how excited I am to travel the world together. And that all starts in T minus 10 days from now when I'm writing this. Just remember that the absence of each other right now sucks, but it's going to make being together again so damn good. I'll see you soon, MG Your American boy.
Millie Court
Oh, my God. That might be the sweetest thing he's ever said anyone's ever said to me. He's so romantic. He's like a hopeless romantic. He just says all the right things. He does all the right things. Like, it's not even just words for him. It's actions, too. He's just so cute.
Jamie Laing
But explain that to me, right, because you've been in relationships, right? And they haven't quite worked out. I know, but why is this one different?
Millie Court
Maybe because he's American. I don't know. It's like, he's so emotionally mature, and he understands women. Like, and I don't know whether I.
Jamie Laing
He gets it, okay?
Millie Court
He gets women. He's, like, so respectful to women. It was weird. We've had these conversations, and he's like, even like, down to. I was saying I was due on or I had cramps and stuff. And he was like, oh, you know, do you take anything for it? Are you on an iud? I don't even know what it is. But he was asking me about birth control. And he knew all of this stuff about birth control. He was. What else was he saying? He will be. The American guys respect women so much that the smaller things they do. He literally will not let me open a door. They're so. Chivalrous. Is that the word?
Jamie Laing
Yeah, yeah.
Millie Court
And there was times where I'd go and open a door and he would run in front of me, but, what are you doing? We'll get into a car. He won't let me open that. He'll walk around like a gentleman and, like, won't let me go. I'll scooch over. Like, most guys I've gone into cabs with, like, get in, scooch over. He'll open the door for me, sit me down, you know, push the door close. He will make sure that I've always got a drink. Like, silly little things where they're like little actions that mean a lot. And. Yeah, I just think that that respect, it's a lot of respect. And he has so much respect for his mum as well. Like, the way he speaks to his mum and behaves towards his mum. Like, he loves his mum so much. And I know that his parents have brought him up really, really well. Like, they. When I met them, they were the sweetest people I've ever met too. Like, it runs in the family.
Jamie Laing
But this is really interesting because, you know, there's this, like, whole. Like, there's this whole idea that men have to be a certain way in order to be liked by women. Right, Maybe that. And it's a male point of view. Right?
Millie Court
Maybe. Yeah.
Jamie Laing
So you gotta, like, bench press, like, a hundred kilos and treat them a little bit like, you know, whatever it is. Right. But actually, what you're saying is. No. A way to a woman's heart is to be respectful, to be kind, to be chivalrous, to understand what women go through. What women go through certain times.
Millie Court
Exactly. Like, he.
Jamie Laing
That's what's sexy.
Millie Court
Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Not having a crypto wallet.
Millie Court
No. Not bench pressing 100 kg or whatever the hell you do. Like. Yeah, okay. You might look fit whilst you do it, but that's just surface level. Like, what you look like. I care about what's inside. Like, don't get me wrong, he's. I think he's so Attractive. But the thing that attracts me more to him is what's in here and how he acts and behaves. Like that is so attractive to me. And I think that's probably as well what he said to me too. Like we're so emotionally connected and our personalities and the way we look at things are just like very much the same. So it's probably the most emotionally mature relationship I've ever had where we're on the same level.
Jamie Laing
So then, do you love him?
Millie Court
Right. Jamie, it has been only three weeks.
Jamie Laing
I know, but like these things can go. If he was to say to you, I love you, what would you say back?
Millie Court
Okay, I don't know. I don't know yet. I don't know yet. No. I feel like I am so conscious about rushing things with him because after Love Island, a lot of people, especially the first time when you haven't done it before, a lot of couples I think, break up because of the intensity of what comes afterwards and how much pressure as you have as a public relationship. And people think as well, like, oh, well, what's the thing to do now? Move in together, right? Or do you've got to spend all this time together? Cause if you're apart for two days, people are like, oh, they don't like each other, they've broken up. And it is quite a lot of pressure. I know the difference this time. So I don't want to fall into those ways. Yeah, we're going to go traveling together, but we're not. Like I saw an article, their plans to move in. We have no plans to move in together. We're gonna, we're very much free spirited people. We love traveling, we're really adventurous and that's what we're gonna do together. But I've got my life, he's got his life, and I think we're very much focused on that. I don't want to rush all of those special moments. Like I feel like it's been three weeks. Even if I felt like I loved him, I probably would just hold off.
Jamie Laing
You would lock that in. So basically we're saying you love him, but let's lock it over a bit.
Millie Court
Don't say it. No, no. I don't know. It's like it's going that way, you know, like I'm so close to that, but I don't know whether in my head I'm like, oh, is it too soon to say that or is it too soon to do this? I just really want to make the right steps with him so that We. Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Isn't it cool, though, that that's what a, like, sexy, fun, attractive man should be like?
Millie Court
Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Do you know what I mean? That is what a man should be. 100% kind, loves his mum, respectful, all the right things.
Millie Court
Honestly, I haven't had one red flag with him.
Jamie Laing
But I remember you there was in the villa, you were talking about how one of the big things for you is that your boyfriend has to get on with your dad.
Millie Court
Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Which makes me think that you have a really close relationship with your father.
Millie Court
100%. Yeah.
Jamie Laing
And your father obviously taught you, look, to go deep. And in psychology, right, they always say that if you, especially with daughters, if you have your father's love, you know how to be loved yourself. And so your dad obviously taught you what real love is like, so you know how you should be treated.
Millie Court
Yeah.
Jamie Laing
And you probably won't take anything less than that.
Millie Court
No, that's true. I mean, I have in the past and I think, you know, going through life, navigating your 20s, like, sometimes you think things are right and when they're not, and sometimes you try to make things work when you think. If you think deep down, like, this isn't right and probably what I want. And I also think that I. Something that's probably come from my parents. Like, they broke up when I was like, three years old. So I've lived in a split family. One Christmas I'll be with my mum, the next Christmas I'll be with my dad. And I put this pressure on myself that I want to be with someone and when I have a child with them, that's my one, I don't want to break up. And I, my child, not have their family together, not because I've had a bad life growing up with them being separate. Like, I think that's also what grew me and my dad so close together, because he was always so prevalent. Is that the word, like, in my life and me and my sister's life, like, he was always there. He wasn't a distant father even.
Jamie Laing
He was reliable.
Ad Voice (AutoTrader)
Always.
Millie Court
Yeah, always, Always. And, you know, I had a great relationship with both of them, but there's something in my head where I'm like, I don't want that for my child, though, which is weird. And so when things are going wrong in a relationship, I try, I want to make it work. Like, if we've liked each other at one point, loved each other, we can do this. But actually, sometimes that's not right and you kind of accept things that you shouldn't accept. So I put a lot of pressure on that myself. But, like, my dad has. Is so reliable. He's a brilliant dad. Like, he's shown so much love towards me and my sisters. And he, you know, is just a true gentleman in my eyes. So that is, yeah, like, what I would want my partner to be.
Jamie Laing
What's his name?
Millie Court
Like, Rob. Rob. Rob, yeah. Love him, miss him.
Jamie Laing
It's funny when. Cause I do so many of these, right. When you speak to people about, like, relationships and stuff in life, their tone changes sometimes. And when you do speak about your dad, your tone.
Millie Court
Oh, really?
Jamie Laing
Yeah, but in the most beautiful way.
Millie Court
Oh, good. Yeah. You felt it more calm then, wasn't I?
Jamie Laing
Yeah, it's like. It's like. Because it's funny, right? It's because that's your, like, obviously your safe space. So you can feel that. You can just be like, that's my dad. It's amazing. But also in relationships, it's interesting because when you come. I came from a divorced family, and what that made me think is that separation and breaking up and divorce is a possibility. And so I went through my life thinking, well, I can always break up. I can always do that. And before I got married to Sophie, I always thought in my head, well, if we get married, I can always divorce. And my best friend, this girl called Georgie, who's. She said, jamie, think with you. She said, you always think that, like, breakups and divorces is like a possibility. Is it possibility? But you have to realize it's not. You gotta fight for all these relationships. You fight for these marriages, whatever you go into. And so when I was like, dating, so I was like, right. No, that's so right. I'm gonna change my mindset. And the fact that I've changed my mindset now is like, you become a team.
Millie Court
Yeah, exactly.
Jamie Laing
But you did say that sometimes you've clung on to relationships. Cause you wanted to make them work. Maybe they're not. Right?
Millie Court
Yeah, definitely. Probably. I mean, my first relationship, I was with him for seven years. I was 16 when I met him. Yes, seven years. And I thought that was like my early. Like my whole early teen and early twenties. Like it was a long time. And that shouldn't have gone on for nowhere near as long as it did, but I clung onto it. And I think that's probably something that I tend to do because I have that thing in my head that, like, I want to make it work. It's weird, but actually, I'd say the last four years of that relationship was so toxic I think we all have had a very toxic relationship. And that was toxic, and it shouldn't have lasted as long as it did. But I also do believe in, you know, everything happens for a reason. And I wouldn't be here or in this position now if I hadn't have gone through all of that. Like, everything makes us who we are today. And I would never regret anything. I don't regret being with him for seven years. But, yeah, I think there's ways that I look at relationships. I mean, I've been to therapy and talked about my relationships a lot.
Jamie Laing
And the reason why you cling on, you can't let go.
Millie Court
Yeah. And she told me everything stems from your parents. Yeah. In your childhood. And you don't realise that you kind of mimic, like, what your family or your mom or your dad have done and. Yeah.
Jamie Laing
So how do you deal with breakup?
Millie Court
To be honest, I'm very good at blocking out negative feelings and emotions.
Jamie Laing
Because you're such an upper. You're such a great energy.
Millie Court
And I really don't like being around negative people or feeling negative. And I just think that I wanna make the most of every single day that I live. Right. So if I'm sad, that's gonna ruin my whole day. And I don't like that. So I just wanna be like, right, okay, let's just navigate that in my head. I feel sad today, but let's not let it ruin my day. Push it back and try and do things that are gonna, like, uplift me or see my friends and have a chat with them. Mood will change and up I go. I just. I'm quite a happy person. So when I do feel sad, I don't like it.
Jamie Laing
And what do you like with heartbreak?
Millie Court
So, okay, so my last one was how I dealt with that. How did I deal with that? I very much spent a lot of time with my friends and my family because being alone doesn't help. I probably partied quite a lot. But as you do when you're single, distract yourself. Yeah. Distraction. Yeah, That's. I think a big thing. Thing for me is distraction. Because I think if I'm not thinking about it and I'm blocking that out, I'm doing something else with my friends where I'm out and I'm drinking, I'm socializing, whatever it is. And that's not always the best way to deal with it. I think you do have to probably talk about the way you feel. And I think that's why therapy is good. I mean, I didn't go to Therapy after my last one. But before that I did. And yeah. Event is time. Time's a healer, right?
Jamie Laing
100%. Because I think that's. I would imagine that's the scary thing for you, right? So going into this new relationship with Zach. Right. And that is now a public relationship, which is tricky, right. And with your last relationship, that becoming like a public relationship as well. That's tricky, right. Because what you're saying is when you become a. You become. You become a brand together. You become a brand, and then there's so much pressure because you feel like if you're not together, then who are you?
Millie Court
Yeah.
Jamie Laing
So you have to stay together. Especially people from Love Island.
Millie Court
That happens.
Jamie Laing
Right. Because you're stronger together. So maybe you stay in the relationship longer. Cause you think it's better. Is that right?
Millie Court
I think so. Yeah. There's. But then I do think a lot of relationships break up because of that as well. Because it's too much to handle. And I think you either fight against it or you stay together or you don't. And I think a lot of relationships come out and crumble at that point because it is too much. And if you don't like each other enough or if there was a slight potential that you were in the show and you kind of was not faking it, but, like, pretending to like them more, I don't know. There's a lot of relationships that don't last very long. Then you will fail at the first hurdle. And I think what I found with my ex was that it was very true. It was like we. That was meant to happen, and we managed to get past that. And also when you're in there, that kind of bond that you have, especially the first time when you're in no. 1 before, and now all of a sudden you're someone and like, you're in the public eye experience together, you go through it together and you've got each other to lean on. Because my friends don't understand. My family don't understand that I can't. Like, they can't really relate to me in that sense. So you lean on your partner with that, and so you have this bond that no one else has other than you. You're the only two have just experienced that in that as a couple together. Obviously there's other couples, but they have. Then they have that person. It's like we could lean on each other over that, and that very much made us quite strong. And, yeah, probably things that, again, I clung onto because you think, oh, no, like, this is Meant to be. Because we met in such a extraordinary circumstance that I thought everything happens for a reason. I was meant to be with him. But, yeah, the relationship was. I think we tried and it wasn't working. And it. Yeah. So that ended.
Jamie Laing
That was. Liam, when you broke up, was it daunting being single again?
Millie Court
I was quite excited. I was really excited.
Jamie Laing
Cause before you're not famous, and then you're now famous, but then single. Yeah.
Millie Court
And I thought, wow, let's experience what this can be like. I don't know. I think because I said on the show it was kind of over before it was over, and we tried to make it work and it just wasn't. So then at that point I felt like I. This. I'm in the right place that I'm supposed to be right now and I'm single. And let's have fun with it. Like, let's. I was dating.
Jamie Laing
Do you use dating apps?
Millie Court
No, no, they were actually just people that I'd either met out nice. Or Instagram DMs. Yeah. Wait, someone slid in?
Jamie Laing
Someone slid in?
Millie Court
Yeah. Yeah.
Jamie Laing
So what do they slide in? Zay, look, I know. Look, Zach, if you're listening, don't worry. Liz is. It's all good. All right? This is just. This is historical we're talking about.
Millie Court
Exactly.
Jamie Laing
Yeah. It doesn't matter.
Millie Court
But actually, the one that slid in was sort of not an ex, but someone I used to see before the show the first time.
Jamie Laing
All right, and what does he mean?
Millie Court
So he said, welcome back to the dark side. And I was like, oh, hey, yeah, I am back.
Ad Voice (Boost Mobile)
Wanna come over?
Millie Court
And I thought, well, if I'm gonna see someone, then it might as well be someone that I already low key know and I've met before, so it doesn't feel awkward. And, you know, he kind of knew me before with the madness, so. Yeah.
Jamie Laing
And you want that home comfort a little bit, right?
Millie Court
Yeah, exactly. And I didn't want to think, oh, I've got to meet someone new. But then after that, I dated someone else, and it was a guy that I met in the Bloody White Horse in Boston Square.
Jamie Laing
Really amazing.
Millie Court
Yeah. So I had fun with it. Like, it was. I mean, I am a relationship person, though. Like, I very much am a lover girl. And when I'm in a relationship, I'm so focused. I'm so on you. And I'm. It's so exciting. And it's like the best feeling in the world. I just think when you have a partner, it's amazing.
Jamie Laing
So I can feel that on you. Honestly, I'm not just saying this to, like, but I can feel your attention and your energy. I can. It's so here.
Millie Court
Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Yeah, it's so here. So I can feel. You'd be such a good friend and such a good girlfriend or partner or whatever it is. Yeah. Because you're there in it.
Millie Court
In it.
Jamie Laing
But then that means you demand the respect from the other side as well.
Millie Court
Yeah, of course. Because obviously there was that whole thing in the show. Oh, does Zach like me as much as I like him? And everyone online's been saying that. Like, I think that's because the way that I am in relationships, I'm so, like, focused. And I'm probably quite vocal about it as well. Like, if something's on my mind, I'll say it. Like, even if I. Like, if I think you look fit today, I'll be like, wow. Like, you look so good today, I will just say what I think. And Zach's not as vocal as me. If he's feeling something or, like, don't get me wrong, he says every day, like, wow, you're so beautiful, or whatever it is. But I think when we talk about the way we feel about each other, maybe I'm more vocal. And I definitely was on the show, and he's just so much more, like, he is more vocal.
Jamie Laing
And then what happens is the narrative becomes that they go like, well, Millie's more keen. Yeah, yeah, she likes him more. And he's not quite into it.
Millie Court
Yeah. But I don't believe that at all. Because as well, you. A lot of my family said that towards the end, when you coupled up, you wasn't getting that much airtime as a couple, like, because I think probably because we stayed out of the drama. So, you know, that was what was focused on. And actually, everyone in the villa, when that question came up, they were like, that doesn't make sense. We can all see how much Zach likes you and what he does. And, you know, there was one couple of days I was a bit unwell. Cause I had a bloody South African stomach bug. And it was really bad. Yeah, everyone got it.
Jamie Laing
How bad was it?
Millie Court
Bad both ends? No, actually, just one.
Jamie Laing
Just.
Millie Court
Yeah, just that one. Yeah, just down there.
Jamie Laing
The southern one.
Millie Court
And I actually slept in the beach hut one night, which is the worst
Jamie Laing
one to get when in the new.
Millie Court
And I'm sleeping in bed with Zach. I think I got up like five times throughout the night, and I thought, I actually have to sleep downstairs because if I shit this bed, this is going to be awful. Like how. And I actually said to him, what are you going to do if I poo the bed? And he was like, probably laugh and announce it to the room. And I was like, yeah, okay, yeah, I'll sleep downstairs then. But he wouldn't care. But also I'd be embarrassed. But it was awful. But anyway, so I was going through that. So when we'd have like a bit of, like when we'd have lunch or maybe we'd have a bit of a break, I'd go upstairs and have a nap because I wasn't sleeping very well. And like he'd come bring me my water. He would kiss me all over my face. I was sleeping. I don't know. He's just so forward with his emotions, actions wise rather than speaking it. And way better, right?
Jamie Laing
Yeah, because it's showing you what you need.
Millie Court
Exactly. He's looking after me like he cared about it. And of course he did say say it too, but I think they didn't show those moments so then. But they were showing me be all over him. So it's like it's this narrative that was creative that's just kind of not.

Millie Court
Do I am.
Jamie Laing
Were you worried that the producers might bring in Liam?
Millie Court
I was, yeah, worried. But I knew that he was focusing on creating a gym. He's just opened a business and I just didn't think that it would be something he would do. I don't think that we kind of would know that that wouldn't have worked on there. Like, if he had gone on it, I wouldn't have gone on it, you know, And I think that we would have telepathically thought the same thing. Like, it would be hard for me and it would be hard for him. So I don't know whether he knew whether or not I was going on it. So I'm not sure whether he maybe thought about it or had those chats. But, yeah, I was worried. But I did say to the producers, producers, I ain't gonna.
Jamie Laing
Yeah, yeah, fair enough.
Millie Court
I did.
Jamie Laing
Cause you don't want it to be. You don't want it to be about that. I get it.
Millie Court
I've already lived that. I've already done that together, the first series.
Jamie Laing
Good on you.
Millie Court
Yeah. And I just thought that's not what this experience is about for me. I. I don't want to get back with him. I also don't feel like I need to be in the same villa. Like, that's just a weird thing to do. Some people have done it. But I think hats off to you if you can do that and be in a villa with your ex. But for me, I don't want to do that. I just don't. And I said to the producers, if he was to come in, I would leave the show. Like if I was in there already. And then he walked in and I made that very clear that I would leave. Yeah, so.
Jamie Laing
So put that in your pipe. Can we. Can we also mention some of the arguments? Because some of the arguments were.
Millie Court
Yeah, oh, God, a lot of arguments.
Jamie Laing
Lucinda argues a lot.
Millie Court
All the girls, apart from myself and probably Leanne kind of stayed out of it as well. Everyone else and Whitney as well. She tried to stay out as much as Possible. Everyone else argued.
Jamie Laing
They didn't.
Millie Court
They.
Jamie Laing
But do you think a lot of it is down to. Because they want to create a great show actually because they want to argue.
Millie Court
Do you know what? I just. It's hard, right, because the aim of the show is to meet someone. So if you're a bombshell and you come in, you have to tread on toes. And I think because the problem with All Stars is we all low key, like, know each other. So then you have this thing like, oh, we're friends. So, like, you shouldn't do that to a friend. But, like, you have to realize who you actually count as a friend fully as like a true friend. Or are you just someone that I see at events and like, you're. We're influencers and that's just our job. So I feel like everyone sort of had this like, you shouldn't do that to a friend mentality. But, like, we are actually in there to find someone.
Jamie Laing
Totally. So you kind of gotta do it. Right.
Millie Court
I think, like, for me, before going in, Sammy and Whitney were really close friends of mine, so I would never.
Jamie Laing
That's great.
Millie Court
Yeah. I love them both so much. I would never tread on any of their toes if it came to a guy.
Jamie Laing
Cause it's proper friendship.
Millie Court
Because that's my actual friends. Everyone else, I was like, yeah, but I am a girls girl. So I think even being in there and after a couple of weeks or a week getting to know the girls, I felt a bit awkward. But luckily I was in a position where I met Zach in Villa usa so that there was no. Like, I didn't have to tread on anyone's toes, but like, for other girls who come in and you do. So then it's.
Jamie Laing
But then what about Lucinda? Because you and Chloe were good friends with her. No. Or no?
Millie Court
Yes. Yes, we were. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Well, so
Jamie Laing
Jamie, don't really recast, but it's interesting. Let's go.
Millie Court
No, it's not. It's funny because do you know what I've seen online, everyone's saying or trying to think up why. Why did we think we've fallen out? Like, we didn't fall out. Like, it was. There was no fallout. I have friends that you just distance from. Because life happens. Right. You maybe not on the same path. She lived hours away. Me and Chloe lived in Essex, she lived in Brighton and she traveled a lot. So it was kind of that thing where, oh, we haven't seen each other three months or now it's been six months and it wasn't anything bad. And then online, everyone's going, oh, she slept with Toby or she slept with Liam. Like, it's all shit. It's literally bullshit.
Jamie Laing
Cause that's what they say. Cause your homie is Chloe, right?
Millie Court
Yeah.
Jamie Laing
And Chloe is, man, she's the greatest as well.
Millie Court
She's the best.
Jamie Laing
She's the best. And the chat online is because she slept with Chloe's ex, Toby.
Millie Court
Yeah. Like, that is just so beyond the truth. It's a joke. Like, that has not happened. And if that did happen, I wouldn't have been friends with Lucinda because that's not a girl's girl. That shit doesn't happen. Like, you can't sleep with your best friend's ex. Like, that is so against the rule. And if that was the case, yeah, I wouldn't have even entertained Lucinda. But I know for a fact that didn't happen.
Jamie Laing
Why do you think Lucinda had a tricky time with relationships in there with other girls?
Millie Court
I don't think people really understood Lucinda because I was friends with her before. We were best friends, like, genuinely, like we had, like, we left the show. We had been on so many trips together, we spent a lot of time. Not me, her and Chloe, but Chloe was a lot busier going to shoots, whereas we did more like content, Instagram style stuff. So we could go on holiday and it would benefit us because of that's. If you do holiday content, if you're away, that content always does really well. So we use that a lot to go away. And spent so much time together. And I feel like I fully sort of, I, I get Lucinda. I do think that there was obviously things that she did wrong. Right. And maybe, maybe could have waited to a different, like, point or like pulled someone to the side to say it or, or maybe just gone about things in a different way. So whenever that would happen, I would, I was never like, you know, oh, that you're okay. Like, you. That's right. It was like, okay, maybe you could have done this differently. But I just think that it was the way that I approached things. And some people wouldn't approach it in that way. Like other people's approaches may be to raise their voice, you know, and that's fine. That's how. That's their personality. Everyone's different. Right. And it just clashed because I don't think Lucinda was scared to have an argument and she clashed with that. And I think sometimes she thought what she did was right. And that's the thing when people argue, it's because they don't understand each Other's perspectives. She doesn't get you, you don't get her. And like, you both have different values or opinions on what should have gone on there. And that's why you argue, because you're clashing. So if you can't understand, then you're not gonna have an.
Jamie Laing
It's very mature. Yeah, exactly that. Are you confrontational? No, not at all. Never have been.
Millie Court
Never. I don't like arguing. I don't like. If I've got. If I feel a certain way, I'd probably get more upset than angry. I'd never get angry. I'd be upset. And then I would talk about it in a calm way like this, you know, it was like, okay, let's talk to you about how I'm feeling. Like, you've, You've. This is my response.
Jamie Laing
You've upset me.
Millie Court
These are the reasons why I've had it. Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Are you sensitive?
Millie Court
Yeah, I am sensitive.
Jamie Laing
Really?
Millie Court
Definitely quite emotional.
Jamie Laing
So then how do you deal? Because when you put yourself out there into the public eye, there's always. There's good, there's bad, there's ugly, there's all these different things. How do you deal with that? It.
Millie Court
Being a sensitive person, I actually do really struggle with, like, the trolling and the comment side. And it's something that I've spoken to my therapist about, and she was very. She put it into a good perspective and she was like, the people who are writing these things aren't happy people. Because if they were, she was like. She was like, are you happy? And I'm like, yeah. She was like, would you ever write something like that under someone's comment, like, photo? No, I never would. And you, when you think of the trolls, I don't understand them because I never would. Right. So it's like, they're probably not happy or they're going through something, taking out new. They've woken up on the wrong side of the bed that day. And she was like, basically, you know, they're saying all press is good press. She was like, the people who are trolling you are paying you basically. Like, the more comments you get, the more this and that, the bigger you're gonna be. Right? She was like, you also can't be the person that you are now without the good and the bad. She was like, you can't have everything. It can't all be perfect.
Jamie Laing
Can't be loved by everyone.
Millie Court
It can't be loved by everyone. Exactly. She was like, so of course you're gonna get the negative and you're Gonna get the trolls. But. But that's making you who you are staying. You're still getting jobs, you're getting paid.
Jamie Laing
But what kind of things are they saying?
Millie Court
It's been different over the years. But, like, I think with. When I was with Liam, I'd get a lot of trolls of people saying that because of the whole Casa Moore situation. They'd say, like, that I'm. I've got no respect for myself. Being with a guy who kissed another girl in casserole, and it was like. Like I'd known him three weeks, I wasn't even in relationship. They'd, like, question me having respect for myself. They would question. They would troll me on if I put weight on. Like, you get the. I think a lot of women probably go through that. Like, she. Is she pregnant? But now I just, like, put on some weight. I get trolled. I got trolled for. I have, like, a bum chin. So, like, they would troll me about my chin. So I got filler in it to get rid of that. So I. I give in to things. And that's annoying for me. I shouldn't do that. But I am sensitive to it. And they'll even trouble, like, my hair color. Like, oh, that hair doesn't suit you. So, like, change it. And it's annoying. And it does get to me. So that's something that I need to deal with.
Jamie Laing
Firstly, you're a beautiful, amazing person. Right. And what these trolls are saying is horrific, but when it's battering towards you every day, it hurts. Right?
Millie Court
Yeah.
Jamie Laing
I don't want. It's very hard where you just block it out and you're being brave and saying, well, I'll change this and change that, because I have to try and believe what they're saying. And maybe then I start noticing it on myself. It's like, no, are you kidding me? That's just some very sad individual who's not having a happy time, who's making you feel bad because it makes them feel better.
Millie Court
Yeah, I know. And if they're saying it over and over again, you're gonna listen. Well, if a lot of people are thinking the same thing. If everyone thinks I'm pregn. Obviously I wasn't pregnant, but it's like, oh, everyone thinks that I've put on weight or I've got a belly or whatever, and you believe it, and it's really hard to then not. It's hard to not listen. Like, I don't really know how to not listen.
Jamie Laing
Does that lead to then you maybe being unhealthy in that space or having an unhealthy relationship with your weight because you're just going, you know, probably, yeah, it's tough, right?
Millie Court
It's really tough. I think the thing that I struggled with the most as well is I had really bad acne and. And I would get trolled on that for having bad skin. And the only thing that I can say about that, right, Is that when I see other people who have acne or whatever, I don't focus on that. You see past whatever this is, right? And what you look like. The only thing I care about is that you're a nice person, that we get on that we're friends or I love you cause you're my family. You just don't see that. The people who pinpoint those things to you are one, not nice people. Two, people you shouldn't. Shouldn't align yourself with or be around. And if anyone has anything bad to say about you, like that's not your person. You shouldn't be even interacting with them. So if you have friends who put you down, they're not your friends. If I have trolls, I shouldn't listen to them. Because the people that do care about you and love you, who actually are important in your life, they would never say anything about the way that you look or the way what your weight is. That's your decision. If you're unhappy, change it. But if you like your weight and you the way that you look, don't let other people change that and make you think any different. You just have to learn to love yourself. You really do.
Jamie Laing
So how are you in that journey at the moment?
Millie Court
Working on it? You know, I don't. I wouldn't say, actually. I'm really close. I think. I think the older I've got, I'm 30 this year, and it's giving me a bit of a complex because I'm like, I need to do all of this stuff before I'm 30. I need to sort my life out. I want to see the world. I'm going to travel with Zach. But I also want to make sure I've got, like, I'm settled in with a partner because I don't want to be too, you know, be in my late mid-30s and not have someone or not have children or not be married, Right. And then actually I'm just looking into perspective. It's like I'm just putting. I am putting this pressure on myself. And I think in your 20s, you just spend your life worrying about so much that actually you just need to live? Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Trust me, your 30s are the best years.
Millie Court
Really?
Jamie Laing
I think so. Because 20s, you just. You're clinging on.
Millie Court
You're all over the place.
Jamie Laing
You are all over the place, and you don't know where you're going. Left, right, you have no idea. And then your 30s, you suddenly go, okay, maybe I kind of get this spot.
Millie Court
And then you.
Jamie Laing
I mean, 30s for me, have been amazing.
Millie Court
Oh, good.
Jamie Laing
If someone's thinking now that they're thinking, they're watching you and they're loving your career and. And you're in. You're an inspiration to them to, like, following your path, would you say, go and do Love Island?
Millie Court
So I. It's funny you say that. I put up on my Snapchat one day, and I was like, I'm so grateful for Love island, everything that. That they have done for me. Right. The life that they've created for me, basically. And I would say, anyone who wants to do it, 100% do. And I got trolled by this woman who was like, you should be influencing young girls to go and be doctors and nurses and, like, get these amazing jobs, and, like, you're just influencing them to go on TV and be a slag. I was like, fucking hell. I can't do anything right. But I was like, no, I. Yeah, be a slag. I was like, yeah, just keep calling me a slag. Right, great. Be a slag on tv, whatever. But, like, I thought that was laughable. I think I said that to Zach, and he was like, what's the slag? Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Oh, my God. What's the slag?
Millie Court
There's some funny words I've been teaching him. But, yeah. And I just thought, actually, it's okay. Those people who want to be doctors probably don't want to go on Love Island. I'm not telling everyone you should go on Love island, but if something that you want to do and something you think would be a good experience, do it. Like, it's been amazing for me. It's changed my life in such a good way that I'm. Yeah. I would say to anyone, I love that. Yeah, do it.
Jamie Laing
I love. I think it's so great to be such a supporter of something that has given you the roots.
Ad Voice (AutoTrader)
Right?
Jamie Laing
Yeah, I'm completely like that. I just want to talk about Chloe for a second.
Millie Court
Yeah. Aw, lover.
Jamie Laing
You guys are besties, right?
Millie Court
Besties.
Jamie Laing
And your friendship, like, I see online is just like, aww. Are you guys still living together?
Millie Court
Yeah. Yeah. Which is quite funny as well, because we literally say that we're sisters. Like, it's like the relationship we have sometimes. What's the saying? Ships passing in the night.
Jamie Laing
Ships passing in the night.
Millie Court
Yeah. Like, she'll be. She'll be really busy working during the day and then I might have an event in the evening and there might go like a day or two where we don't see each other. Especially when. And I had a long distance relationship before, so when I'd go to Wales and we wouldn't see each other then, but we'd come home and it would be like, it's like my sister's at home biting for me and vice versa. And it's just we have this amazing relationship. Honestly, I don't know what. I don't want to leave her. I don't want to move out. And we have no plans to do that anytime soon, you know, like she said, because our rent is up, like, our tenancy is up in. When was it? March, I think. She was like, we're extending, right? I was like, yes, of course. Like, I'm not leaving. Yeah, I'm not ready to do that yet. But yeah. We've lived together three years.
Jamie Laing
She said that your house is really messy.
Millie Court
Yeah, it is. I've been trying. No, it's both of us. I am actually quite messy. So is she. But that's why it works as well, because we're both the same. We just have a lot of stuff with inorganized messy places. You know, it's one of those. I wouldn't say our house is dirty. We do have a cleanup. Me and Chloe are not the type to clean. If anyone would clean, it would be Chloe. She's better at it than me. I don't actually know how to mop a floor because it goes streaky. But Chloe knows. She doesn't. Yeah, but we just are messy people. And also we are party girls. So we go out a lot, be hungover. The takeaway bag, probably have stayed there all day and don't get put in the bins.
Jamie Laing
What is the takeaway? What do you guys go for?
Millie Court
Oh, a lot of different ones. I think the most. Most amount of times we've ordered on Uber eats or Deliveroo in one day was five. So it was breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And then in between that, I think we ordered some, like, nice desserts and, like, some other snacks. Go like, get some Gopuff for, like, Tesco's. Get some crisps and chocolate and sweets. Yeah, we're on a hangover. We just slob about, watch films and eat Hashimoto.
Jamie Laing
Zach.
Millie Court
Yes, she has. She met him the day that we landed. Yeah. Thursday. So that was quite funny. I pre warned Zach about her. Like, Chloe is crazy, but we all love her for it. And Zach, Zach, he would never say a bad word about anyone, though, so. Yeah, I'm not sure what he truly thinks, but we're nutters together. He hasn't seen me and Chloe properly. Yeah, but he's coming back.
Jamie Laing
Why? Because it's that. Because that is, like, intense.
Millie Court
Yeah, we are intense together. We're just crazy together. Like, I would say that she influences me to do bad things. And it's the other way around, too. So us together, we're just nutters. Like, I think we just love life. Right. And we love to drink. So when we're together. Whereas Zach's not like a big drinker. He used to be when he was, like, in his frat era, but I don't know. We'll see.
Jamie Laing
So are you gonna go to America and see?
Millie Court
Yeah, we're gonna. So basically he's gonna come back to the UK in a week, and he's staying for like a month. And then I fly to LA to go to Coachella and he's gonna try and get tickets, too. So then when I'm in la, we're basically, I'm just gonna stay in America and we're gonna go to Arizona, Oregon, Vegas. I'm gonna just tour of America throughout the summer. So it's gonna be amazing. I can't wait.
Jamie Laing
Well, on that note, I have a game that I wanna play with you.
Millie Court
Oh, okay.
Jamie Laing
So the game is I'm gonna ask a sort of juicy Love island question.
Millie Court
Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Okay. And you have to answer the question or risk it and take the USA trivia question instead.
Millie Court
Oh, God. Okay. Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Cause you're dating an American, you need to know there's trivia.
Millie Court
Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Okay. So if you get the USA question right, you don't have to answer the Love Iron question, but if you get it wrong, you have to answer it.
Millie Court
Okay. God, I'm so bad at pub quizzes.
Jamie Laing
So you already get this. So I'm gonna do the Love island question first.
Millie Court
Okay.
Jamie Laing
And then I'm gonna say the USA question and see if you get it right.
Millie Court
Okay.
Jamie Laing
Who is the most annoying person to live with in the Villa? Okay. And the question is, who won this year's Super Bowl? Seattle Seahawks or New England Patriots?
Millie Court
That's so bad as well. Cause Zach loves Super bowl and he actually said it the other day, and I. What's the two answers?
Jamie Laing
The Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots.
Millie Court
What happens if I get it wrong?
Jamie Laing
You have to answer.
Millie Court
Okay, so I'm gonna go with the first one.
Jamie Laing
Seattle Seahawks. Yeah, you're right.
Millie Court
Yes.
Farnoosh Tarabi
Well done.
Millie Court
I knew it. That rung a bell.
Ad Voice (AutoTrader)
Yes.
Jamie Laing
Okay, here we go. Who was the biggest game player on All Stars? The question is which US City is known as the wedding capital of the world?
Millie Court
Wedding capital of the world. I'm trying to think of cities.
Jamie Laing
Yeah. City. Just one city.
Millie Court
I'm gonna take a guess. New York.
Jamie Laing
Las Vegas.
Millie Court
Oh, my God. Of course.
Jamie Laing
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Of course.
Millie Court
Of course.
Jamie Laing
Of course. Yeah. Of course not. New York.
Millie Court
Why did I say New York?
Jamie Laing
New York. Biggest gameplay on All Stars.
Millie Court
So I answered that question in the show and we voted for Scott. Scott. Love him. I think he is great, but he has been on loads of times. Could argue that could also be Lucinda, but I think he got the game better than Lucinda did and he kind of would figure out timelines and things and. Yeah. Not that he did everything in there to play the game, but I think if anyone would be, it would be him.
Jamie Laing
Do you think him and Lianne will up?
Millie Court
I actually do. Oh, nice. I think that they had a really good connection in there. They were basically coupled up since day one. Don't get me wrong. Obviously he, you know, went off with whoever, but him and Leanne just make sense and you can just see the connection that they have. So I do believe that.
Jamie Laing
Do you think Lucinda will last in her relationship?
Millie Court
Yes. Yeah. Yeah. They are literally boy and girl version of each other. Like. Like, they are perfect for each other. Honestly, every single one of the finalist couples, I believe, truly like each other and are great matches for each other. Yep.
Jamie Laing
Like that. Okay, who got the worst edit in the series? Your question is how many stripes are on the American flag?
Millie Court
12.
Narrator/Ad Voice
Close.
Jamie Laing
13.
Millie Court
So annoying.
Jamie Laing
It's not bad. I would have no idea. Who do you think got the worst edit?
Millie Court
Belle.
Jamie Laing
Really?
Millie Court
Yeah. I feel like. Don't get. She obviously is quite loud and, you know, but I do think that all of the hate and stuff that she's getting, it's not fair. Like, just because someone's louder than someone else, like, she shouldn't. I don't think it's nice.
Jamie Laing
I hear you, man.
Millie Court
And I know that it's.
Jamie Laing
I thought she was great.
Millie Court
Yeah. I just. I love her.
Jamie Laing
She's amazing. Yeah.
Millie Court
I love her. And I think she's so emotionally intelligent as well. Like, I think something that me and Zach really got on with Bel with, like, we could have such a mature Conversation about lots of things. And she's very intelligent. She's just really lovely. And I will see. We'll definitely see Belle after, you know, the show. I think certain people might not see each other, but she's something. Someone that I'd like to see.
Jamie Laing
Okay, last one. Who was the bombshell guy that you were desperate to come in?
Millie Court
Okay.
Jamie Laing
What do Americans celebrate on the Fourth of July?
Millie Court
Thanksgiving. No.
Jamie Laing
Independence Day. Similar. Similar.
Millie Court
I think nothing about America. I'm so sorry, Zach. He can teach me. Fuck's sake, Paul.
Jamie Laing
Michelle. Who are you hoping?
Millie Court
Go on. Okay. I said that I fancied Jack.
Ad Voice (AutoTrader)
Foul.
Millie Court
Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Put it out there.
Millie Court
But like, he's like my type, right?
Jamie Laing
Yeah, yeah.
Millie Court
Like, he's tall. He's tall.
Jamie Laing
He's fair, good looking.
Millie Court
Yeah, yeah. But a lot of the girls requested him.
Jamie Laing
What, like an. Like an Argos catalog? Like what?
Millie Court
You have to write it in your form.
Jamie Laing
You write it in the form?
Millie Court
Yeah. You have to write who you want to come in in. Yeah. So we were like, we were all asking everyone, who did you write? Who did you write? Who do you want to come in? So we all thought. Because then the girls are. Oh, yeah, I wrote him too. And. But they never did.

Can I just say. Listen, you're. When I speak to you, what I love so much is like, the openness and the honesty. And there's just like. That's why you do so well on these shows. Because literally, who I'm sitting across from now is exactly who you are on the show, and that's so amazing.
Millie Court
Thank you for having me.
Jamie Laing
Oh, my God, you're amazing. Listen, we like to end the conversation with eight questions. Are you ready for this?
Millie Court
Yeah.
Jamie Laing
What's the saying or phrase that makes you smile or cheers you up?
Millie Court
Carpe diem.
Jamie Laing
Seize the day.
Millie Court
Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Okay. I like it. Best compliment anyone's ever given you.
Millie Court
Probably Zach saying the thing. One of the things he loves most about me is my brain, my way of thinking. I was like, no one's ever said that before. That's really nice because you're level. Yeah.
Jamie Laing
I think you think about things in, like, a diplomatic way.
Millie Court
You're just, like, true. Yeah. And he likes that, so that's nice.
Jamie Laing
What scares you most about yourself?
Millie Court
My insecurities of, you know, the way that I look and sort of listening to those trolls online probably, but, you know, you're beautiful. Aw, thank you.
Jamie Laing
I mean, but you do, right? And you're funny and you're smart and all those things. So why would you believe these random people who don't even. They know nothing.
Millie Court
I know.
Jamie Laing
They know literally nothing. And they're just sitting there, just typing away because they just feel like.
Millie Court
Yeah, it is really silly.
Jamie Laing
When was the last time you cried?
Millie Court
Last time I cried was at the airport when I came home and saw my mum and my sisters. Yeah.
Narrator/Ad Voice
Really?
Millie Court
Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Were they waiting for you there?
Millie Court
Yeah, they were waiting and I just had missed them so much and I just burst into tears. Yeah.
Jamie Laing
What did they say when they saw you?
Millie Court
We just screamed and cried for about a minute. Two minutes. And my mum. Oh, bless her. Well, if my mum cries, I will cry. Like my mum and me, my mom, my sister. So my. I've got my. My sister who's like my mum and dad. And then I have my stepsister, but she's been my sister since I was, like, four. So she's my sister. Yeah. When I'm at home, when it's my birthday or my sister birthday, my mum, we always take the day off and we'll always, in the morning, have buck's feet, do presents and cards. Right. And every birthday, without fail, all three of us will cry while reading each other's cards. Like, we get so emotional. I cry on my birthday every year, and it's because mum will write this lovely message or I'll write a lovely message to my mum and we just. She cries, I cry, then my sister's crying. We're all crying, so we're just quite emotional people. I think that's amazing. Yeah. Bless them.
Jamie Laing
What's something you can't let go of?
Millie Court
My pineapple ice. Lost Mary.
Jamie Laing
Wait. What?
Millie Court
Do you know what that is? It's a vape.
Jamie Laing
How good is it?
Millie Court
It's good. It's the pint of life's favor. And the brand is Lost Mary.
Jamie Laing
Okay, Nice.
Millie Court
And that's on me at all times.
Jamie Laing
And if you wake up in the middle of the night and say goodbye.
Millie Court
No, I wake. I don't wake up in the middle of the night.
Jamie Laing
You don't?
Millie Court
No, I sleep. I am. When I'm asleep, I'm out. But it is one of the first things I do when I wake up in the morning. Do you know what? I'm so annoyed with myself, though, because I quit. I was the only person that vaped in my series four or five years ago, Right. And I was bad with it. But I stopped probably for about a year.
Jamie Laing
Congrats.
Millie Court
Last year. And then on the show, the only time you get a piece of a bit of peace and quiet is if you vape or smoke. So I said, yes, I vape so that I could go outside and just be alone. So then I obviously had to tell them they got me vapes and I got back vaping again. I'm gonna stop, but okay. Yeah.
Jamie Laing
What's your guilty pleasure?
Millie Court
Bar mite out of nowhere.
Jamie Laing
Are you serious? Marmite, Marmite. With butter or straight up? So much I like it. It was straight up. Just Marmite. Straight up.
Millie Court
No. Loads of butter.
Jamie Laing
Yeah. Butter, yeah.
Millie Court
Yeah. But I got Zach to try. He had everyone's. And then I put a TikTok up, and everyone's like, it's disgusting. Like, how do you like it? And I'm like, I don't know that many people that like Marmite.
Jamie Laing
I love Marmite.
Millie Court
Me too.
Jamie Laing
With peanut butter?
Millie Court
No, no, no, no. I will actually eat mama out of the jar. That's how much I love it.
Jamie Laing
Really?
Millie Court
Yeah. 100. Sometimes if I'm peckish, I just get a little spoon and lick it and eat it. Yeah.
Jamie Laing
What turns you off?
Millie Court
Short people. So you, Jamie? No, I'm joking. But I honestly, I've got this thing with, like. Like, with guys. If you're sure. I'm not even entertaining you. It's so good. There was this one guy, but how short.
Jamie Laing
How short are we?
Millie Court
Just anything shorter than me. So I'm five foot eight.
Jamie Laing
Yeah.
Millie Court
And it actually. The same height it got me.
Jamie Laing
Has to be.
Millie Court
Has to be taller.
Jamie Laing
Has to be up there. So. Danny DeVito. No, no, that's not. No.
Millie Court
Hell no.
Jamie Laing
Okay.
Millie Court
No, no.
Jamie Laing
But what about. So where was Curtis? He was quite.
Millie Court
Curtis was taller than me. Y. By a bit. Charlie was shorter than I would. Like.
Jamie Laing
What turns you on?
Millie Court
Emotional maturity.
Jamie Laing
Let's go.
Millie Court
Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Okay. What do you like most about yourself?
Millie Court
Probably. What do I like most? Probably that I am a happy person and I feel like I'm good to be around.
Jamie Laing
100% bonus. Who's your hall pass?
Millie Court
Justin Bieber.
Jamie Laing
Short. Well, you. That's completely against your rules. Are you joking? Are you joking? Justin Bieber.
Millie Court
Do you know why? Yeah, but he was like. He. I would say he's my first love.
Jamie Laing
Are you one of those people, like, when you see him on TikTok with Hayley, you're like, no, that's unfair.
Millie Court
Low key.
Jamie Laing
Low key. Like, why are you with my fucking boyfriend?
Millie Court
I'm like, I need to ask my husband one day. But he. I've literally loved him since he began. Like, I'm his number one OG fan. I had a Twitter fan account.
Jamie Laing
No, you didn't.
Millie Court
Of him.
Jamie Laing
What was it called?
Millie Court
He followed me. Yeah. Followed me on it. It was called. Actually, I'm not gonna say what it's called.
Jamie Laing
No, go and say what it's called.
Millie Court
I don't. Well.
Jamie Laing
Cause he's gonna find out.
Millie Court
No. Cause the public will find out, and then you'll go through my old tweets and it's embar. It is not something that I want out there. People actually found it when I was on Love island the first time because I said it on the show.
Jamie Laing
Okay.
Millie Court
And someone found it anyway.
Jamie Laing
But how obsessive is it?
Millie Court
It was obsessive. I had not one single white space on my wall. It was filled with posters. I even had a poster of him on my ceiling. Yeah. So I'd wake up in the morning, he's the first thing I see.
Jamie Laing
Would you know. Were you one of the fans who knew everything about him? Like, everything.
Millie Court
Everything.
Jamie Laing
Do you know what time he was born?
Millie Court
Born? No, I don't know that.
Jamie Laing
Do you know what hospital he's born in?
Millie Court
I know he was born in Canada. That's good. Yeah.
Jamie Laing
Because he is Canadian,
Millie Court
I'm sure. I know I should know the town that he's from, but it's been a while since I brushed up on my Justin Bieber, you know, knowledge.
Jamie Laing
Really? Thank you, man. Honestly. Yeah. Everyone who's listening, like, obviously big fan. If you just, like, come across me, go and check your Instagram. Go and check out Taylor. Go and check out everything you're doing. You're you're. I can just see you going to heights. So congratulations. And you're just the best. I really appreciate you coming on.
Millie Court
Oh, thanks for having me. I really enjoyed this.
Jamie Laing
You're the best. Thank you so much.
Millie Court
Thank you.
Jamie Laing
Guys. I hope you enjoyed that episode. I mean, I'm a huge Love island fan. Honestly, one of the things you get to watch every single night. Honestly, all year round. Love Island. I would watch Millie if you're listening. Thank you so much for coming on. Talking about what it's like in the villa, talking about those relationships, talk about the insecurities that you feel as a human. Right. Sometimes I think we see people online or on TV and we forget that they're actual people. So just try and be nice. Also, if you really enjoy this episode, you should go and listen to Chloe Burrow's episode, who is Millie's best friend. It's amazing. We'll leave the link in the show description. This episode of "Great Company" features Millie Court, well known for her appearances on Love Island, including her recent runner-up finish on Love Island: All Stars. Host Jamie Laing and Millie dive into the realities of reality TV, the pressures of public relationships, social media scrutiny, friendship dynamics, love after the villa, and lessons in resilience, growth, and joy.
First-Time Fears and Growth
“I was naturally… I think because I kind of knew what I was doing, getting into, and I'd done it before.” – Millie ([08:10])
Reality Behind Reality TV
“I was very drama free in that. I don't like that stuff. So I very much stayed out of it.” – Millie ([15:07])
Social Pressures in the Villa
Transitioning from Unknown to Celebrity
New Love with Zach
“Every new experience with you is something I’ll remember and hold onto forever.” – Zach ([23:24])
“He's so emotionally mature, and he understands women.” – Millie ([24:41]) “The thing that attracts me more to him is what's in here and how he acts and behaves.” ([27:05])
Slowing Down Public Relationships
“I don't want to rush all of those special moments... Even if I felt like I loved him, I probably would just hold off.” ([29:14])
Past Heartbreak and Healing
Millie faced trolling about everything from her appearance, weight, skin, and personal decisions ([01:01], [55:20]).
She eventually got chin filler after repeated negative comments:
“They would troll me about my chin. So I got filler in it to get rid of that.” ([56:23])
Therapy perspective:
“The people who are writing these things aren't happy people. If you were happy, would you ever write something like that?” ([54:03])
Lesson: Accepting the inevitability of criticism but learning self-love ([58:47]).
"That is just so beyond the truth. It's a joke... If that was the case, I wouldn't have even entertained Lucinda." ([51:04])
“I'm very good at blocking out negative feelings and emotions… I just wanna be like, right, okay, let's just navigate that in my head. I feel sad today, but let's not let it ruin my day.” – Millie ([35:05])
“A way to a woman's heart is to be respectful, to be kind, to be chivalrous, to understand what women go through.” – Jamie ([27:01])
“Not having a crypto wallet. Not bench pressing 100 kg… What attracts me more to him is what's inside.” – Millie ([27:06])
“You just have to learn to love yourself. You really do.” – Millie ([58:47])
“You can't sleep with your best friend's ex. That is so against the rule.” – Millie ([51:04])
“What turns you on? Emotional maturity.” – Millie ([77:55])
“In your 20s, you just spend your life worrying about so much that actually you just need to live.” – Millie ([59:37])
“Trust me, your 30s are the best years.” – Jamie ([59:39])
This engaging episode offers an honest behind-the-scenes look at the emotional reality of Love Island, the challenges of fame, female friendship, and the battle for self-worth in the digital age. Millie’s story is one of resilience, vulnerability, and joy—rooted in strong values and self-discovery. The episode is as much about personal growth and authenticity as it is about dating and drama.
