So what is copywriting and why is everybody talking about it? Teams and teams of hundreds of copywriters. Copywriters among some of the highest paid people in the world. Like I heard about copywriting, I heard about direct mail marketing, all these kind of things. Copywriting is the ability to persuade people to take an action with the written word. All of the text on Apple's website, that's copywriting. All the marketing emails in your inbox, that's copywriting too. Even an Instagram caption that tries to persuade you to go and download a free resource in somebody's bio, well, that's copywriting as well. And a freelance copywriter is a very lucrative position that people can make six figures from by just writing some copy every single day. Now of course the big question is, well, how is that even possible? Why would somebody be willing to pay you so much money just to write some words? And of course I understand the question because I was in your position too at one point. You see, I started out as just a carpenter working a job. And at nights I would go and work as a security guard. And also I worked in the military for a little bit. So needless to say, all I really did with my life was cheap labor until I stumbled upon copywriting. Now, while I used to make 10 to 15 bucks an hour doing back breaking labor as a carpenter, I Now make over 10k a month with copyright. And a big example that really helped me understand the concept was this. Let's say you find a company that sells a high ticket package at $2,000 and they have what's called an email list, which basically means a whole list of, of emails that you can send emails to and get them to do a specific action. Well, you send out one email and that one email makes two sales, which of course is $4,000. You do this 15 times a month and what are you left with? Well, on average you'll be left with $60,000 every month. And it's not unreasonable for you to ask for a 10% commission. So a 10% commission off of 60,000 is $6,000 every. You find yourself two clients like that. And now for 30 emails a month, you're making $12,000 every single month. Now, before I show you how to become a copywriter step by step, I first want to tell you one more thing that will really tie it all together and make it all make sense to you. Because in reality, everything that you've ever bought or spent money on, Even every single YouTube video you've ever watched, has some form of copywriting in it that's persuaded you to either buy something or watch. When you see what advertisement you see, even when you're seeing a YouTube video and you see the title and thumbnail, that's kind of like copywriting. And this is why copywriters make so much money. And that's because copywriting really is responsible for a huge portion of the economy. In fact, it's an over trillion dollar industry. And the best part is that almost nobody has heard about it. I mean, go up to one of your parents or one of your friends and ask them what copywriting is and they're probably gonna tell you, well, it has something to do with copyright law, doesn't it? And on the other hand, all you really hear about is drop shipping or day trading or Amazon, fba. I mean, all these other ways to make money online are super mainstream and pretty much everybody already knows about them. But copywriting is something that almost nobody knows about and is a multi trillion dollar industry. So there is a lot of opportunity if you're looking to get started.
