Big Ice Cup Cat

Deontay Kyle
You know what I'm saying?
Big Ice Cup Cat
Gotta keep reminding the world.
Deontay Kyle
You gotta look at this is a podcast of the year nominee twice. One of those being a literary award. Woo.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Do the knowledge.
Deontay Kyle
Mm. Just gotta keep. Just to keep reminding you. You know what I'm saying? Like we doing the Knowledge, you know? So there has been some concerns with the audio. They're saying that like the ads that they're running on like Apple Music and Spotify are like APAC ads and like things like that. Look, we don't have any control over what ads they play. Just like we don't have any control over what ads they play. On YouTube, we don't have any control over the ads. That's all corporate shit, you know what I'm saying? If you're not hearing me read it. That means I didn't choose it, you know what I'm saying? We would, in a perfect world, they would tailor ads that align with the show. But it's not a perfect world and that is corporate. And they're gonna push the ads that they wanna push. And they're gonna utilize the person with the visibility and audience to push those ads. Those ads are not a reflection of me unless they are read by me. We don't control that. What we do control is that. This podcast is brought to you by Black Underwear, a black owned men's underwear brand created with one thing in mind. Premium quality. When a founder couldn't find a black owned brand to deliver on both purpose and comfort, he made one. Their best selling power boxer briefs are made from ultra soft, breathable modal fabric. And all of their products only come in one color.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Black.
Deontay Kyle
Black, no frills. Just performance and comfort. You could feel. I got.
Big Ice Cup Cat
He just wanted to show his ass.
Deontay Kyle
I got him on, bruh. It's easily become my favorite pair of underwear. And then this is the other thing too. You know how when you just in the crib and you just like lounging, you're just chilling.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
But you like you might have company or just it. It ain't just a. It ain't. It's people at the crib. Like you can't just be walking around in your boxes. Right? Right. You know what I'm saying? They got these, they got these like lounge pants, bro. You don't even, Bro, it's like you ain't even got them on, bro. You can't even feel them. Lightweight, lightweight, breathable. Okay. You're feeling great.
Big Ice Cup Cat
All right?
Deontay Kyle
Then you got the black underwear on.
Big Ice Cup Cat

Deontay Kyle

Deontay Kyle

And just for the cousins, if you know, you know they're offering a special discount. Head over to www.blackunderwear. dot com. And use the code GRITS at checkout for 15% off of your first order. That's www.blackunderwear.com. and use the code GRITS for 15% off your first order. Black underwear. Your favorite pair. For your favorite pair. Ow. That's what I mean. That's what I'm saying. We control the ads. You know what else we control?
Big Ice Cup Cat
What else?
Deontay Kyle
Daddy.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Oh, shit.
Deontay Kyle
That's his real name. No, I know his real name is Daddy is a New York based director, stand up comedian and musician. He studied film at nyu, has been a video producer at gq, freelance director for Atlantic Rector, Sony Music and more. His work all across medium radio brings black joy at the expense of white guilt. That's what he's doing.
Big Ice Cup Cat
What he doing?
Deontay Kyle
He's making a horror, a horror film. A Nightmare on Malcolm X Boulevard.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Harlem.
Deontay Kyle
I think it is Harlem. This is Daddy. Son to name your son Daddy.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah, he's Harlem.
Deontay Kyle
You set him up. You set him up for a life of like being revered and regal. Yeah, that's a regal name. Daddy. Daddy. Your dad gotta call you daddy. Wow. Real shit.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Let's get into it.
Deontay Kyle
A Nightmare on Malcolm X Boulevard, which goes into production this summer, is an independent feature film that tells the story of a struggling 1980s black comedian who marries his white girlfriend, moves into a brownstone, hunted by slaves her ancestors own, and discovers he can't. Discovers he can't make black people laugh.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Oh, shit.
Deontay Kyle
Okay. This is a real horror. This is a real horror. This is a real horror film. It sounds interesting as hell. It's about the horrors and humor connecting with your artistic voice and your root. Questioning what is a black artist's responsibility to their community. The movie stars Ilana Glaser, Marie Foston, Daddy and more. It is also written and directed by Daddy in his feature film directorial debut. The production is currently raising $250,000 through Kickstarter and private investors. And in order to shoot in August, let's put our support behind Daddy. All right. His ig is director Daddy. He's making a horror film, A Nightmare on Malcolm X Boulevard in Harlem. In Harlem. Moving to the brownstone with his white girl just to find out. Shit. Haunted by his ancestors that she used to own that her people own. Crazy, crazy work and he can't make n laugh. Terrible, terrible, terrible.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
If we have any actionable things that we can do as far as posting that Kickstarter or anything, I will put that down in the description. All right, we got one more thing now. We did the black Underwear. We promoted daddy.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Huh?
Deontay Kyle
Now let's do something for the kids. All right. Summer lunch program. Okay. The summer lunch program initiative. This is by young lady Rana Thompson. So they're currently planning something special for the kids here in Atlanta to kick off this summer on June 6th from 11am to 5pm get your kids off them phones and outside at Sumner park over in East Point for a free lunch, games activity, a DJ and more. I'm teaming up with the duo Ray and Lay to put this together. From feminine hygiene product drives to toy and book drives, the two have been organizing community projects like this for over 5 years. Very excited to be supporting this. Oh, oh, okay, I'm reading it. I am excited to be supporting this. But she just wrote that in. I'mma be there. And we're going to be volunteering. The kids going to be there. We fucking with that shit. This is a very good event for the kids. But if you're a local and you want to get involved, whether you're a parent, volunteer or someone who cares, you can help us out. Help us put this together by purchasing some of the supplies off of Rihanna's Amazon wish list. Donate via Cash App $sign Rayanna Thompson or Zelle 702-756-61731 in 4 kids in Georgia live in a home without enough food, making Georgia the fourth highest state in food insecurity. The summertimes come and a lot of kids who receive free and reduced lunch in our community do not have food at home. This event is going to provide a safe space for the youth to be fed and have some fun. We would be there. We are gonna be there lending some extra hands, saying what's up to everybody. Pull up. Share it Donate. Just spread the word. Registration is encouraged to help us get a headcount. So if you do plan on bringing your kids, just fill out their registration form. I will post that in the description below. But me and Big Cat are gonna be there. Me and the kids, we gonna be there. We gonna be out there supporting, volunteering and making sure that these babies got food. Food insecurity is a big thing in Georgia and like she said, a lot of kids is going to school just to eat and they're not going to have the opportunity to eat if they don't have food at home. So this lunch program will provide at least one day of a free meal, some activities, they can kind of lit up some steam. They can forget about what's going on at home and just enjoy some time in the park. Sumner park over There. East Point, the three.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Not really, but close enough.
Deontay Kyle
It's the three, bro.
Big Ice Cup Cat
It's not the three.
Deontay Kyle
Every I know from East Point. East Point, they be saying it's three. That's what they be saying.
Big Ice Cup Cat
It's not, though.
Deontay Kyle
Not Atlanta.
Big Ice Cup Cat
It's not three.
Deontay Kyle
I'm gonna. We're not getting into Atlanta.
Big Ice Cup Cat
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know you.
Deontay Kyle
You man in the city, man. He's from the city, bro. Take too serious, bro. Damn. Just like saying our cats not from Atlanta. They are, but they from East Point.
Big Ice Cup Cat
They went to Tri Cities.
Deontay Kyle
It's the three. Either way, we're not gonna get phased out over Atlanta politics. This is about the children. It is about the children. Let's make sure these kids eat whether they from East Point or Atlanta.
Big Ice Cup Cat
That's not the thing. I just said it's not the three. We gonna feed the kids.
Deontay Kyle
We definitely gonna feed the kids. We definitely gotta feed the kids. All right, we'll be back right after this. Commercial break. We back. Okay. Set them Twitter streets on fire, huh?
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah, you got the streets divided right now. Twitter's in the uproar.
Deontay Kyle
Well, I think this speaks more to, like, the environment that Elon Musk has created on that app where it's two things going on simultaneously. There's the black and white divide on there, and then there's the men and women divide on there. And it's strong. I didn't. I'm fairly new to Twitter, so I didn't realize, like what it was for real. I was just on there posting my clips and going. But the longer you sit on there, it's like, that's an app of like, it's a cesspool of like hatred and division. It's really what it is. So what I realized is that my messaging is going to come across as you either play for the man team or the woman team. Like, that's the way that they think on there. And I'm going to keep posting on there. It just is what it is. But n heard accountability, and I didn't say responsibility. Accountability, that's a different word.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Well, you know, reading the comprehension is an all time low.
Deontay Kyle
So, you know, we're going to get into that later because I have a theory that class is going to be predicated not only on money but on intelligence in the future. Right? There's going to be. I think that being able to showcase critical thought, being an intellectual is going to have its own currency in the future as we get into anti intellectualism and the dumbing down of the masses, nihilism, those sort of things. But yeah, Twitter is a cesspool. And here's the thing. Doctors, lawyers, politicians, entrepreneurs, young academics, educators, astrophysicists, media personalities, they all support the Grissy Next podcast. So I don't care. With the dark serpent, Osiris, son. The God.
Big Ice Cup Cat
O son. What's his name?
Deontay Kyle
Third eye. Osiris the Serpent King. Names like, yeah, yeah, yeah, I seen a. Come on. Like, look, yo, this what I be talking about. Love that. Esoteric knowledge. Yeah, he's this young dude. Come on. Greetings, Planet Kai.
Big Ice Cup Cat
I was like, oh, greetings, Planet Kai.
Deontay Kyle
Crazy thinking Captain Planet.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Captain Planet.
Deontay Kyle
He trying to get together the elements. Greetings, Planet Kai. It's like, I don't expect that nigga to agree with me, right? Because they're leaning into like esoteric knowledge and cult behavior. You know what I'm saying? Cults need a leader. And nine times out of 10, that leader for some reason needs to sleep with everybody. Greetings, Planet Kai. The crown chakra, the third God, the Sun King, the water God. Niggas are the water God.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Niggas know how to swim.
Deontay Kyle
Niggas thinking Poseidon. Now, I think the thing is this. I have a. I have some empathy towards the red pill community, but I have a question for the red pill community too. Where are your scholars? Because there's never been an articulation about what they disagree with. It's just that I don't agree. I don't have to be accountable for other men's actions. We'll get to that in a second. I understand that accountability can just a word. It can be a trigger word for some people, right? Some people grew up in like, hostile environments, especially like they might have had like helicopter parents are very overbearing or very strict parents. So they had to be hypervigilant in their childhood. And whether that be that they were always accused of being doing something, right? Your parents questioning you and you always on the defense. So you take that word and it may trigger something about being in trouble. Like you feel like you're in trouble, right? And a child, when they in trouble, either one lies, which we've seen a lot of lying going on, or two tries to pass the buck. And we see a lot of that going on. I'm talking to men and men are saying, well, what about women? I'm talking to men. I'm a man. We men. If we be the boys, who gonna be the girls?
Big Ice Cup Cat
I like what you did there, brother.
Deontay Kyle
I stole that from a Girl on Twitter, that shit was so funny to me. But it could be a trigger. You grow up in these hostile environments or with these overbearing parents, and every anytime there's an accusation, it'll put you on 10. You have to find a way out. You always playing the defense. And I just want you to know that this isn't one of those times. But I know that as we get into anti intellectualism and we get into a place where people let their ideologies lead the way and just turn their brain off to everything, then we have to break down. I want to continue these analogies because I don't care if it's getting lost on you. I don't care about being called. I don't care. Samp pander don't matter. Accountability. And five. Yeah. So let's. Let's. Let's make this a simple analogy.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Okay?
Deontay Kyle
Me and you, we riding in the car. Road race incident happened just out the blue. I hop out, gun a nigga down. If you don't come forward and say y' all was with this nigga, he wild out, he killed somebody. It shit ain't have nothing to do with me. I'm just letting y' all know this is his name. This is information. You snitch, right? Right. But you take the onus off of you because you didn't do anything to create that situation. But you are doing something to rectify the situation. Right?
Big Ice Cup Cat
Right.
Deontay Kyle
To bring forth justice because he tripped out and he killed somebody. That is you taking accountability for yourself. But also you are taking accountability for his action. Like, well, no, you're not taking accountability for his action because you don't need to be accountable if you did something direct to father situation. Now if you say nothing, you become an accessory to murder. And now you are accountable for his actions because you didn't do anything. Right. If you in the car with a nigga and they jump out and blick somebody down and you don't come forth to the police, you will be held accountable for his actions because you were there and you didn't do anything about it.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Facts.
Deontay Kyle
Then we get into this whole. So now from this they're gonna miss that. Of course they're gonna miss that. What are they gonna say?
Big Ice Cup Cat
You snitch.
Deontay Kyle
You're a snitch.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
You know.
Big Ice Cup Cat
You know that's coming.
Deontay Kyle
You would rather do be an accessory to murder.
Big Ice Cup Cat
You rather 25 to life.
Deontay Kyle
25 life. But should have nothing to do with.
Big Ice Cup Cat
You because you want to ride from work and the killed the.
Deontay Kyle
Imagine that.
Big Ice Cup Cat
You were just like, let me get.
Deontay Kyle
A ride, yo, let me get a ride. Yeah, I get rides with this all the time, right? He trip out blinking down 25 to life. Cause you don't want to be a snitch. The streets is dead. The streets are dead, okay? For sure. There's too many cameras. And first of all, you might not snitch up front, but when they get you in their room, it's gonna be too late. Cause you already being charged as an accessory. Cause you didn't come forward. Is you gonna snitch now? How you gonna get what? 10, 10, maybe 5? They might have to put you in a. You're gonna have to be in protective custody, brother.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
Why do we follow these rules? Why do you follow the rules of snitching, of not snitching? It's because you fear the consequences and the judgment from other men. You fear being judged by other men and you fear the possibility of violence from other men. Because you turned on a man when you really didn't turn on a man. His actions didn't have nothing to do with you.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Right, Right.
Deontay Kyle
But because you didn't do anything about it, now you become accountable for his actions. But when the police make you a necessity crime, no problem. I'm gonna keep it real. When I say women don't got time to pick and choose through every individual man and have to go based on their experiences with the group in ho. You say, well, I'm not accountable to that. How we going to save him, big cat?
Big Ice Cup Cat
We can't save, we can't save him.
Deontay Kyle
Can't save the Serpent King.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Now, now Serpent King doesn't want to be saved.
Deontay Kyle
Serpent King, first of all, first of.
Big Ice Cup Cat
All, your name is Serpent King. I don't want nothing to do with you, son.
Deontay Kyle
In the fourth dimension. Yeah, he in a whole another reality.
Big Ice Cup Cat
I don't want nothing to do with that.
Deontay Kyle
Yeah, he in the dark room somewhere.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Serpent King.
Deontay Kyle
Serpent King. I see with the white, the right.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Crush, the corny lips.
Deontay Kyle
Yeah. And then terrible hairline this thick as a SAP. Oh my God. Y' all even see yourselves.
Big Ice Cup Cat
That's why they don't get women. Obviously they don't. They don't see themselves.
Deontay Kyle
They don't see themselves. Yeah, yeah. But the behaviors, a lot of the behaviors that we adopt are stem directly from prison. Right. If we're the most over policed community disproportionately thrown into prison, that means we have a constant influx and flow of men coming home from jail and going into the jail. If These men come home and they have respect and they become an OG or a leader. Because we look at going to prison as some stripe when you in the streets and shit like that. I'm just strictly talking about the streets. The ways and behaviors of those young men that are now in the streets, listening to them are the ways and behaviors of a prisoner. So they're adopting convict behavior which subconsciously prepares you to become a convict. So when the prison influences the streets and the street has such an influence on civilians, then we have civilians adopting the ways of convicts. Now, one glaring thing that we always gonna talk about is the sagging of pants, right? Fuck what it mean? Influence came directly from the prison to the streets, from the streets to the civilian. That's just one example of many. We also have to talk about mindset. Mindset. You know, this also will create a lot of DL brothers. Right? The mindset of the I'm a top. I'm not gay. Because black men are not allowed to be bisexual. Black men are either gay or they're straight. Right?
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
So we have to think about the role that the prison industrial complex plays on the everyday black civilian. When we're influenced by the street and the street is influenced by prison. Subconsciously you're preparing yourself to be a prisoner, to be a convict. Young thug calling Kid Cudi a rat is an example of this. I don't like. I don't really have much to say about young thug either way. He just beat a RICO case or didn't beat, but 15 year probation from a RICO case, which they ain't even give John Gotti that.
Big Ice Cup Cat
No.
Deontay Kyle
So. But the audacity to call Kid Cudi a rat when everybody in your case snitched, except for, like, a few, a handful, the majority of those niggas ratted. I think it's time to stop talking about rats. I think it's also time for, like, the everyday civilian to not feel pressure to adhere to these street rules. And the only street rule that they want to adhere to is the not snitching rule. Don't tell on me. But the old ways was, we protect women and children. Y' all done did away with that completely.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Mm.
Deontay Kyle
It used to be if you ain't in the street, you stay out of street business and we keep you out of street business. Right. It used to be if you was athlete or academic and you had a promising future, they would keep you out of the streets.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Facts.
Deontay Kyle
It used to be that if it was a woman or a child, we keep them out of the Streets. But now none of that go. But the only thing we wanna hold onto is don't snitch. You will have a young nigga throw his life away to keep it real with you out of fear of retaliation when he didn't have anything to do with it in the first place. Goes back to this example. If me and you riding in a car and you decide to wild out with the pistol for my own self preservation, I have to go to the police and tell them, right? So that I don't be held accountable for his actions. Because if I say nothing, if I don't intervene in a means to protect myself in that situation, but also, you're gonna bring forth justice for the person he just blicked down out of a fit of rage, then I'm gonna be held as an accessory to his crime. Because I don't wanna snitch. Not even street shit. This ain't even street shit, right? This is a nigga that flew off the handle. How many. How much of that. It don't even have nothing to do with street business. It's just a dude fly off the handle. Now, if you putting in work in the street, adhere to whatever rules you want to. But say, but let's not say like even Glassy Malone. I have a ton of respect for people like Glass Malone and the work that he doing on trying to like humanize gang members and gang members, but saying, let's see if Cudi gonna keep it hip hop. Now. Hip hop has to adhere to street rules too. Cudi, nigga make day and night. Shorty was on a red carpet with a white dude in a wedding dress like Dennis Rodman. This is what we wanna keep it street. This is what we want to keep in hip hop. And when you say hip hop using code word for keep it street, right? No, that's. No, we're not doing that, bro. We can't pressure people into adhering to street rules just because you want to abide by them whether you're a civilian or not. This is why I talk to black men. Because the mentality is fucked up. You're going to have. You're going to have kids out here adhering to these street rules that stem from prison. And they ain't even in the street. I can understand why not if you in prison. Yeah, no snitching. That's in full effect. We're criminals here. We're all convicted. Ain't nobody a civilian. Ain't nobody innocent in this bitch. So adhere to the street rules in prison. Yes, adhere to the not snitching rule in prison. If you want to adhere to the not snitching rule, a lot of y' all wouldn't be in prison. If y' all adhere. If y' all. If y' all abided by that not snitching so bad, a lot of y' all wouldn't be in prison. What's the situation out California? I'm pretty sure Tristan can find an article. It was like 100 biker gang members.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Oh, yeah. And they didn't snitch on each other.
Deontay Kyle
Nobody snitched and nobody went to jail. But they in the biker gang. Blood in, blood out. They know what it is. They ain't asking for no regular civilian tattoo to that. That's they rules and code that they abide by, right? And in preparation to go to prison because they understand that their lifestyle lands you dead or in jail. But why do we perpetuate this shit to all black people? We want all black people to adhere to street rules. Don't snitch. What, I'm not supposed to preserve my own freedom because you want to fly off the handle? And we ain't talking about. We ain't talking about a RICO case where Diddy was trafficking bricks of cocaine. He was trafficking. People don't snitch. What are you talking about? Nigga tried to blow up Kid Cudi. Carr don't snitch. And he was subpoenaed. He gotta go. I'm gonna throw away my. Okay, Diddy. Okay. Diddy tried to blow up my car. I've been subpoenaed to come to court and testify, but I'm gonna keep it hip hop and go to prison myself. Me, Kid Cudi. In the words of famous Harlem philosopher, can you be deadass right now.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yo? Oh, shit.
Deontay Kyle
It just doesn't make sense, yo. It doesn't make sense. You riding with the homie. You and the homie, we riding together. I'm not a street dude. I'm just getting picked up from work. My homie, he a street dude. You know what I'm saying? We riding in the whip together. Sometimes the hammer gets stubborn. It get turned, you know, Sometimes, like the hammer, it get turned a little sideways, right? And you got a. And then you got. Sometimes the hammer don't want to go straight in. And you gotta keep hammering that bitch, right? Sometimes you riding in the car with your homeboy, right? Me and you, we riding.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Mm.
Deontay Kyle
I'm the street dude. You a civilian. You go to work every day. Hey, man, you see, you think you pick Me up from work. I come pick you up from work. I got work in the car. We get pulled over. I throw the work underneath the seat. They ask, whose is it? Now, me being a street nigga and having a code. The real thing to do is say, that's my shit, instead of implicating my man, who completely innocent. But is that what street niggas do?
Big Ice Cup Cat
Oh, no.
Deontay Kyle
Oh, no, no. Let me get this innocent nigga. Let me get this civilian's freedom. Let me put his freedom on the line, right? Cause I'm keeping it real. I don't know whose it is and what's the pressure on you to do because of your fear of being judged by men or the possibility of violence ensuing from men. What are you implored to do?
Big Ice Cup Cat
Be quiet. I don't know who work it is.
Deontay Kyle
I don't know who work it is. Well, if don't nobody take it, both of y' all going down now.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Both of y' all gotta go to jail.
Deontay Kyle
That's real nigga shit. Oh, hey, hey. If that's real nigga shit, keep me far out of it. I don't want to be no real nigga. Right? I'm good on that. And then look Jeezy up, real nigga for me a long time. All the real niggas either dead or in jail. Well, guess what.
Big Ice Cup Cat
God damn.
Deontay Kyle
Guess what, brother. Guess what, brother. Keep me out of it.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't want to be. I don't want none of it.
Deontay Kyle
I got a lot of goals. Them two, ain't it.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
All the real, either. And if you're looking for me, I'm in the atl. You tell, tell, tell the CIA where you.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah, yeah, where you at? He's in the atl.
Deontay Kyle
He's. Well, okay. Now that we narrowed it down, let's.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Find his auntie house. That's what he yams at. That's what he yams at.
Deontay Kyle
Hey.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Big Ice Cup.
Deontay Kyle
First of all, nigga gave you step by step by step, nigga. Manny Fresh. Manny Fresh. Boom, boom, clap that nigga in her stitching. First I'm gonna stack my flaw.
Big Ice Cup Cat
And then what?
Deontay Kyle
Then I'm gonna stack some more.
Big Ice Cup Cat
And then what?
Deontay Kyle
What? Nigga say to my couch, hide the rest of the yams in my auntie house. Get fresh and jump in one of them cars. And then what? Hit the club and get one of them bras. Oh, you just gotta give a nigga a whole. Play by play.
Big Ice Cup Cat
What you doing?
Deontay Kyle
By 2:45, I'll be kicking her out God damn. One thing we can't say about Jeezy. Very organized. Yeah, yeah, very organized. Nigga. Routine.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah. He's got a strict routine.
Deontay Kyle
Strict routine. Yeah.
Big Ice Cup Cat
By 2:45 he's kicking around.
Deontay Kyle
Yeah. Nah, no later than that. Cause I like to be in bed by three.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah. Damn. A second round.
Deontay Kyle
Yeah. Yeah. It's 2:45.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Get out.
Deontay Kyle
Get out. Well, baby, time's up.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah, there was no Uber back then, neither.
Deontay Kyle
So what the was she going. Cause he did hop in one of them cars and go get one of them. So you just gonna put her out at 2:45? Yo, that's an insane time.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Somewhere in the ATL. Buses are done.
Deontay Kyle
No, absolutely. And the cabs aren't trustworthy.
Big Ice Cup Cat
God damn. Jesus.
Deontay Kyle
Fuck around and end up in Gwinnett. Oh, you thought the Bermuda Triangle was some you around here? Put you on the 85 north. You ain't coming back.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Put you on 85 north to Gwinnett.
Deontay Kyle
It's over with. Yeah, son, pack it up. You going to the second location, right? You in trouble? I. I just, you know, knowledge is power, man.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Facts.
Deontay Kyle
Knowledge is power. But you have to apply the knowledge. You know what I'm saying? You can't just see ascertaining a bunch of knowledge for your own agenda. Things get a little tricky.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah. So we get things a little tricky. A little tricky.
Deontay Kyle
See, here's the thing. Here's the thing, guys. You just now finding out about me. Good chunk of you. I've been here. We've been doing this. I've been doing this since I was driving 18 wheelers. I started out doing this in front of my truck. I've been talking like this for three years, okay? Consistently. This ain't nothing new. This ain't a new message. Same old shit, been popping it. You new to it. Welcome home, nigga. Welcome home. Sometimes your big cousin gotta put you in the headlock and get your motherfucking mind right. Don't matter if you 47. Serpent king, third eye, third eye, sun God, Osiris.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Oh, my God.
Deontay Kyle
Always a like that. It's never Dr. Yeah. Maryland.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
Esquire, yeah. It's never that. It's always third eye, third eye. Pyramid, God of the Ivory Coast. It's just.
Big Ice Cup Cat
And they gave it to that Open.
Deontay Kyle
A hunch up a place. Only been there in his imagination.
Big Ice Cup Cat
He can't even tell you what the Ivory coast is, tell you where it's at.
Deontay Kyle
Well, it gotta be on the Coast. It's in the name. Like, the thing is, like, I do want To I do want to thank you not only for the free promotion, but for reinforcing the idea that when you are trying to bring people together, there are going to be people that try to tear things apart and there are going to be hit dogs that are going to holler. And there also is going to be an alarming divide. And the divide is, as they say, I am extremely emotional and extremely anti intellectual. And we here for emotional intelligence, emotional regulation and intellectualism. Because knowledge is power, facts. But you gotta apply the knowledge, then you become powerful. Ooh, it's today's mathematics.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Today's mathematics. You like how you just threw me out there? So just threw me in the water. That's facts, though. So Today is the 25th, right? So number two on the mathematics is wisdom. Wise words about a wise man. If you have wisdom, you have knowledge and you have wisdom about the knowledge that you gain. So that means you are applying in life what you've learned through knowledge.
Deontay Kyle
Applying the knowledge gives you wisdom.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Right? And number five on the ten mathematics is power or power refinement. Because that one who has power, he understands the culture that he comes from. He understands who he is as a person. He's being resurrected. He has the power of shaking off the old that's dead and resurrecting the new and the wisdom and knowledge that he's learned. And when one is refined, runs a divine.
Deontay Kyle
Do the knowledge. Do the knowledge, nigga.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Mathematics, baby. Peace to the gods and the earth.
Deontay Kyle
Peace to the gods and the earth. If we were made in his image, then call us by our names.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Erykah Badu's trying to tell you something.
Deontay Kyle
Trying to tell you, nigga, get on your cipher.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Definitely get on your cipher, man.
Deontay Kyle
For real. But you know, we have to be honest about as men, the fear of men that we deal with. There's an old thing, you know, I've said this times before that I put myself in some dangerous situations. Stepping in when I see a nigga getting too rowdy with a girl, that.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Is a danger, I think. And I think that's.
Deontay Kyle
And so before you even make that point, okay, to Yalls point about what you're saying is you're using that as accountability. That's not accountability, that's responsibility. Right, right. See, it is not my responsibility to put myself in a dangerous situation. When we know how it is, right. The thing is, is the accountable thing to do is if you feel like it's dangerous for you to intervene, kind of gotta call the cops, right? Cause at the end of the day, you have to make a decision. Do I call the cops and put this black man's life in danger, or do I stand by and watch him potentially kill this black woman because they'll stop at nothing and nobody intervenes? This is the pickle that we get put in, especially with the police. Now, if we had our own situations where we were protecting ourselves and we had somebody we could call, like, let's just say, like, the Hebrew Israelites decided to take up arms in situations like this. You dial 1-800-HEBREW and niggas, pull up purple and gold tactical gear. Get on the ground, nigga, get your hands off that woman and get on the ground.
Big Ice Cup Cat
That's a scary sight, son. First of all, that's a scary sight. Shit.
Deontay Kyle
The all black vehicle pull up with the gold Hebrew on the side, you're in trouble. You're in trouble. You're in trouble.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Once you see them gold tassels, once they hop out.
Deontay Kyle
First of all, tactical tassels. We just gave you an idea how to protect the community. 1, 800, Hebrew. I'm telling you.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Tactical tassels.
Deontay Kyle
The tactical tassels. Oh, they answer the phone. This is the real Jew speaking. How can we help you?
Big Ice Cup Cat
The real Jew speaking to you.
Deontay Kyle
It's the real Jew.
Big Ice Cup Cat
It's the real man.
Deontay Kyle
How can I help you? Asiatic black man, the Original man, talking.
Big Ice Cup Cat
To you right now.
Deontay Kyle
Original man speaking.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Original man speaking. How may we help?
Deontay Kyle
Hold on. Call. Hold on. There's a situation going on. Call. 1-800-Hebrew. Original man speaking. How can I help you?
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah, we got a situation out here. It's a brother whooping his sister's ass.
Deontay Kyle
Oh, Hebrew is on the way. Done and done. Send us the love. Drop the love.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
And it's in it. We're gonna have all iPhones. Oh, all iPhones hit. Drop the pin. Drop. We pulling up. Yeah, drop that pin.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
Oh, we got a unit over there. We got a Jews over there right now.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Right now.
Deontay Kyle
We got the real Jews over there.
Big Ice Cup Cat
How about with the. The star David on the technical gears?
Deontay Kyle
How about that Star David? Oh.
Big Ice Cup Cat
They don't let the GDS in the building. Oh.
Deontay Kyle
We get the gds. Can we get the gds and the Hebrews together? Oh, man, I'm telling you, bro, we got strength in the numbers. It's just the ideology is fucked up. Y' all only want to protect men.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
So you be like, oh, what you mean, he beating the sister? Well, first of all, what did the sister do? That's how them nigga like with that current Mindset. That's how to answer the phone. Original man speaking. Yeah, man, this man out here. He whooping this girl ass. Well, what did she do? Cause before I come hold that brother accountable, I gotta make sure we hold women accountable.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, never mind.
Deontay Kyle
Sir.
Big Ice Cup Cat
She's dead.
Deontay Kyle
Oh, sorry, sorry. In the process of you asking me 21 questions to make sure her life was worth saving, she died. He actually killed her. We gonna call the real cops now.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Thank you, but no, thank you.
Deontay Kyle
Appreciate it. Thanks. Original man.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Your original motherfucker.
Deontay Kyle
These original motherfuckers ask too many questions.
Big Ice Cup Cat
What you do the knowledge while you.
Deontay Kyle
Trying to report an emergency. Nigga, what?
Big Ice Cup Cat
Send a unit.
Deontay Kyle
Original man speaking. Yeah, man, we got a nigga out here, man. He waving a gun around. He talking crazy, everybody scared. Well, brother, let me ask you something. What's today's mathematics? Oh, shit. Oh, shit. I don't even know what this nigga talking about. This nigga speaking in code. Yeah, I ain't gonna lie, son. That could be a real thing. Like, them niggas need to go holla at the Fruit of Islam to get organized. And because the Fruit of Islam would if to be real, the Fruit. Whoop your ass, my nigga. If two niggas hop out of a black SUV with tactical gear and bow ties on, I'm fearing for my life, son. First of all, listen to whatever they say goes first of all. Cause a lot of the Fruit, the Fruit of Islam niggas be like reformed street niggas, for real. But they done woke up, niggas done left planet Kai.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
Got back on planet Earth, wouldn't listen to the honorable. Yeah, they got themselves right. You know what I'm saying? Honorable Louis Farrakhan.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
92 years old, still going shout out to the elder. You know what I'm saying? Shout out to Farrakhan. Man, you ain't gonna hear that on another podcast.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Nope.
Deontay Kyle
You're gonna hear that nowhere else.
Big Ice Cup Cat
We shouting out the Fruit, the Jews, the gds, all in one now.
Deontay Kyle
We fuck with all y' all. It's just a shift in perspective. What are we really here to do? Okay, cool. You want us to be. You want us to understand that we the real Jews and we're original 12 tribes of Judah.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
All that good shit, that fine. In the meantime, can you protect us? Yeah, you got the numbers. And y' all niggas is about it. Bout it. Y' all hate white people. Love that. Grip a Glock. Hey, look. Grip a Glock, twin. Look, look on the hating White people. Yeah, with that. It's just when niggas bust the Bible out. That's why I be like, damn, bust the Bible. Bust that Bible out. That shit trigger me. I mean, hey, cuz, when it used to rain and storm real bad, this. Black people, we got to get back to our traditions, right? It used to be when it was thunder and lightning, you gotta let the Lord do his work. You cut everything off.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Turn that shit off.
Deontay Kyle
You turn into Teddy P real quick. Cut them off. Cut them lights off. Turn off. The Lord is working, brother. The Lord doing his work.
Big Ice Cup Cat
You gotta let the Lord do his work in peace.
Deontay Kyle
Sometimes you need to sit and be still. And when the kids would get a little too. When we was a little too turned up, Granny used to bust out that Bible.
Big Ice Cup Cat
But think about that, though.
Deontay Kyle
I mean, the Lord doing his work, square.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Not just the Bible, though. Sit down and be still.
Deontay Kyle
Sit down and be still.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Think about that. Think about what your grandma was telling you.
Deontay Kyle
Still, they could be at peace. Yeah, you moving erratic. Yeah, right. You all over the place. You trying to find some stimuli. Be still, meditate. That's really what it is.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
Form meditation. Granny had that wisdom. Shout out to the Hebrew Israelites, man. Shout out to the Q dogs, man.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
Shout out to the Q's. Shout out to all you, bro.
Big Ice Cup Cat
All the organizations out there, all you.
Deontay Kyle
That'S organized, your ideology be a little up. If we could just do a little tweaking towards the ideology being about all members of the black community and protecting. Instead of us thinking like you, we'd be a lot further.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Because before we was into that, we was black.
Deontay Kyle
We was back. But hey, before. Before you knew you was the Jew, you was black. You was black. You was a nigger before you was a gd.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
And you was throwing up them forks.
Big Ice Cup Cat
You was black.
Deontay Kyle
You was black. Before you joined that three letter Greek organization, you was black. You was a nigger. They ain't even teach you how to shimmy when you got out the womb. They ain't teach you how to do that. You ain't know nothing about this.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Nah.
Deontay Kyle
You weren't doing all that bark. You was just black. So we got to stick to the root. Now, whatever that tree produces, sometimes it's good fruit, sometimes it's bad. Sometimes they stay on the branch too long and they fall off. But when that fruit is ripe, remember that the root that produced that fruit was black. And we have to. I'm gonna say this. I'm not gonna stay on too long. I. I am tired I'm tired of black people being so publicly explicit.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Okay?
Deontay Kyle
I'm all sexed out. You see what I'm saying?
Big Ice Cup Cat
I got you.
Deontay Kyle
I'm sexed out. It don't even move me. No, mommy.
Big Ice Cup Cat
I mean, they just. They just took the artist seduction and killed it.
Deontay Kyle
There's no. There's no there. There's no sensuality.
Big Ice Cup Cat
That's why the sundress is so important.
Deontay Kyle
That's what the sundress is.
Big Ice Cup Cat
So that's why the sexuality is important.
Deontay Kyle
It's very sensual. Leave something to the imagination.
Big Ice Cup Cat
What's under that sundress?
Deontay Kyle
Yeah. Because the first attraction is physical.
Big Ice Cup Cat
That's right.
Deontay Kyle
Sex is foundation of human behavior. To be honest, that's the only reason why we're here. Right. Nothing wrong with sex. Right. So overtly explicit. It's just nasty.
Big Ice Cup Cat
It's everywhere.
Deontay Kyle
It's everywhere.
Big Ice Cup Cat
It used to be. You had to sneak in and watch a little porn.
Deontay Kyle
It's just ass, titties and dick pricks.
Big Ice Cup Cat
That's it.
Deontay Kyle
That's all. Just.
Big Ice Cup Cat
That's it is that we've been. We've been reduced to.
Deontay Kyle
Yes. Our bodies. Yes, absolutely. Damn. That's why we're so critical of our bodies.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Damn.
Deontay Kyle
And that's because. And that's why the only thing we think we're allowed to produce is something of our body. Right. Whether that be sexual or physical, we have to get. We have to detach from all this value we put in our body. Way too much value being put in the body. Not enough value being put in the mind. Not enough value being put in the heart. There's proof. This podcast is proof. This podcast is proof that you can love, empathize, attempt to teach and educate your community from a place of love and be successful. The quick route to it is salacious peon, small minded ass conversations or to be sexually explicit. We just want to talk about sex all the time. That used to be a thing that you talk about in private. Yeah. I ain't never heard my parents talk about sex.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah, me neither.
Deontay Kyle
Now you get online, everybody's just all sexed out. Now look, we've been guilty of it too.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
You know what I'm saying?
Big Ice Cup Cat
We have.
Deontay Kyle
And of course, conversation. But it's wrong on our behalf too. It's just too much. You know what I'm saying? We get riled up.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
Sometimes we forget the mics is on. Right. But when we had to reel it in because everything, you know, like not too long ago, they was. They was being sexually explicit with the food just to get people to watch the video.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
You know what I'm saying now? It's. It's just too much sexual. Explicit. It's just so explicit. You know what I'm saying?
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
And you know, to each his own, but that's a very low vibrational way of doing things. That means you still operating at the. At the lowest form of your root chakra. Yeah. You want to get into that? Just primitive behavior. Primitive. Yeah, me, me, me Dick. Yeah, me got titty.
Big Ice Cup Cat
All right.
Deontay Kyle
Okay. We're more than. Yeah, we're all more than that. Men, women. We're more than that. We're more than our bodies. I mean, let's talk. Let's get my tea grizzly real quick. Okay. Praying on my downfall. These. Praying on my downfall on all stadium too. I was so tall. You should be reluctant to media in general. Okay. But we are extremely reluctant to black media. Almost to the point of. When we see a media personality such as myself or anybody else having success in the space, we're almost preparing for their downfall, what are they gonna say or do that makes me turn against them? Or you're just waiting to turn against them. You're looking for something so you can say, yeah, fuck that. Now they're over. They're ready to. You're ready to end now. You know, this goes back to what I'm saying before. When somebody. When somebody does something like a diddy oratory that warrants accountability, it's not tearing them down. They're being held accountable to their actions. The tearing down be. I don't agree with your opinion. Let's cancel them now. We wanted to get into the war on black men. Y' all waging war on me.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
Little old light skinned me just for saying something you don't agree with. You should question the media. The thing is that I have a track record, you know what I'm saying? I trust the track record. So I ain't tripping about that. But we do need to get to a space where we have a critical aisle. Media. It's a media literacy. With the advances in AI, sometimes you're not gonna know what you're seeing is real or if it's AI. Also, the thought always stays in the back of my mind that this may be a production. Right. When you see certain videos, there's certain videos I've seen online where it's from the. From the POV of the cop cam.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
The. The chest camera and just something about it seem off. I'm like, I think this is a production and then you start seeing how people are acting and all that. Like, okay, there's this one video in particular. Cop pulls over a judge.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Okay.
Deontay Kyle
Black judge. And she's riding around in the car wearing the robe.
Big Ice Cup Cat
What?
Deontay Kyle
That's what I'm saying.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Judges don't even take the robe out the office. The robe is hanging up.
Deontay Kyle
Okay? You see what I'm saying? Because they have on clothes on each other. Right? Right. And people in the comments, like, I mean, she's clearly a judge. She has on the robe. And then she's in a video, like, surprise, surprise, like, I'm a judge. And he asking her, like, why are you wearing that? What are you wearing? That's a production.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
A judge would not be outside of their courtroom. You think they walk into. First of all, you think they getting dressed at the crib, throwing on the robe.
Big Ice Cup Cat
No.
Deontay Kyle
Getting in the car, driving. And you driving, walking around with the robe. No, that's not how that happens.
Big Ice Cup Cat
You didn't even wear your robe all day. Graduation day.
Deontay Kyle
Oh, God. Like, what the fuck?
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
But it's a lack of media literacy. Like, we don't question what we see. So it brings me to this idea that we have to get to a point where we're really doing our due diligence about making sure what we're listening to is a trusted Source. Here. Episode 68. You have 68 episodes, 75 plus hours of me speaking, not to mention the videos and things that I put out on TikTok Instagram. Right. Of consistent dialogue, consistent rhetoric about imploring empathy into the black community, holding black men accountable because we are men, and engaging in revolution, which I have said, the revolution is love. Once we start loving each other, I hold you accountable out of love, not out of hate. I'm trying to implore thought processes that make us better as men. If we are going to be in community. Because in that community is women, is children, is transgender, is gay, is black people from all walks of life, every generation, every class. That's what I advocate for. A healthy black community. Not just black men. There's enough of that. There's enough organizations centered around only black men. And what are they doing to improve the community? Have we seen the fruit of that? We've seen it work on a religious level for some and change the lives of those men. But instead of going out into the community imploring love and empathy, they're imploring an ideology that turns people off. I don't wanna have to think like you for me to receive love from you. For me to receive empathy from you, for me to be in community with you, we shouldn't think the same when it comes to ideology. The thought process should be, we're all in the same community and we put ourselves first. Man, woman, child, lgbtq, disabled, broke, rich, middle class, all of it. But we have all these guard rails up, even in the Bible. The Bible. Let's go to the Bible. Go to Proverbs. How is wisdom described? Wisdom is described in the Bible as a woman. So you could just argue with God about that. Hold God accountable. I understand being reluctant to media. I understand being reluctant to black media because we got things that we call media, which is really propaganda. Shade Room, Zeus Network. Clear propaganda. Clearly reinforcing harmful and negative stereotypes about black Americans specifically. But it's run by the Nigerians. God damn.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Goddamn scammers.
Deontay Kyle
God damn Nigerian scammers always get us. Damn it. God damn it. Hosted a Pop the Blue and a Nigerian. God damn it. They get us every time. The Nigerians got our number.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
CIA. Just look, we'll free the country. Destroying black America.
Big Ice Cup Cat
We'll keep sending them money.
Deontay Kyle
Y' all the only ones that kind of look like them a little bit. You know, they come from West Africa.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Deontay Kyle
So y' all kind of look like them. We could dress you up.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
Get your accent. You be straight. You can always tell by the wig.
Big Ice Cup Cat
The wig. It'll be a nasty wig. It'll be a nasty wig.
Deontay Kyle
All right, all right.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Get back.
Deontay Kyle
I don't want to engage in diaspora once.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Bring it back.
Deontay Kyle
Love y' all. Love y' all down. But y' all do be at the center of some bullshit.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
So being reluctant to media, but the media has proven itself this over here. We've proven ourselves over here. So we just can't. We can't disregard the fact that you should be reluctant to media. But we should also, after a while, say, okay, I'm not gonna convict this man. You know, we are maneuvering in a way of you're guilty until proven innocent. Right. That's how we're maneuvering with each other. But we'll give Zeus Network the benefit of the doubt because it's entertaining. And if you. And if you're. If you're. A form of entertainment is seeing black people tear each other down. Problema, un problema. Very big problem. Very big problem. Go within. But a production. A production being propaganda, like the video I mentioned about the judge in the rope. Clearly propaganda. Clearly propaganda to stoke up that, oh, even if black people are Judges, the police won't. Okay. It's a production though. So then that leads me into thinking, how do they pick and choose what makes national news?
Big Ice Cup Cat
There you go.
Deontay Kyle
What are the boxes that have to be checked off for something to become national news? Why does Carmelo Anthony's case become national news? The race issue. Twitter is already a hotbed of racism. A hotbed of racism and misogyny and misogynoir and all those things, all the divisive things. Hotbed. We gonna see how Twitter responds to it first. TikTok. They gonna break the news first. The race issue is the American issue and it's gonna be the American issue. And I'm not personally ever gonna be on some kumbaya shit with them colonizers. But how do you choose what makes national news? I'm pretty sure it has to go through a process. Pretty sure it has to go through production. What is the thing that gets the people talking and honestly further divides the people? I don't feel like it's black people's responsibility to create unity in an environment where they didn't create the division. Oftentimes it's left on the shoulders of black people to be unified, to be kumaya, to be welcoming, to be understanding. In a space where we didn't create the division, why is the onus on us?
Big Ice Cup Cat
Oh shit.
Deontay Kyle
It's because when you take the responsibility, when you don't hold racist accountable to the actions and the actions of the people that look like them, then you give them. You basically give them permission to continue with the behavior. Black people don't benefit from racism. Black people don't naturally perpetuate the system of racism. But it's on us to dismantle it and to create unity which give permission to the people who perpetuate the system of racism and white supremacy to continue on with their actions because they're not held what?
Big Ice Cup Cat
Accountable.
Deontay Kyle
Accountable. Thus it's not black people's responsibility to facilitate unity except for amongst ourselves. Now we do play into the divide within our own community and that is our responsibility. The greater society is not and that's just real. So be reluctant to media with the onslaught of AI, with the onslaught of productions, but give the personality a chance to prove themselves. We'll be right back after this commercial break. We back. All right, let's get into some of these voicemail.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Before we do that, I wanna say one thing.
Deontay Kyle
All right, bet.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Let's goin back to the prison. When we was discussing prison earlier, especially when young men. We have to give our young Men, grace, as far as, like, parents, because when they turn. When they turn, people turn 18, a lot of parents like to kick their kids out the house.
Deontay Kyle
Yeah.
Big Ice Cup Cat
And that forces young men sometimes to make rash decisions on how to survive and get money to survive because they're put into this position of, oh, I'm 18 now, I'm a man. And I think a lot of our men, Boys, don't get the grace sometimes that young women.
Deontay Kyle
Yeah, yeah. They don't get the opportunity to be boys. Right. So oftentimes, too. Go ahead, go ahead.
Big Ice Cup Cat
No, no. So my point is this. When. If a young, young man turns 18, don't kick him out the house. I'm a firm believer of never going against the family. And that's kind of going against the family because you put somebody out who has no skills, they have no direction. And I know it's hard sometimes as a single mother, you want to say, hey, get a job and help me with the bills. But you've been struggling for 18 years. He's been on this earth. You can struggle for four more while he figures it out. I don't think there's nothing wrong with that.
Deontay Kyle
Straight up.
Big Ice Cup Cat
And if you want to teach him to be a man, okay, let him get a job, teach him how to pay bills, teach him how to responsibility of paying rent, but don't take all this goddamn money.
Deontay Kyle
Right.
Big Ice Cup Cat
You know what I'm saying?
Deontay Kyle
Right.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Give him some grace if he, if he wants to go to school, if he wants to get a trade, whatever. Give young black boys their grace of finding out who they are and walking through life. You know, I know it's hard being a single parent, single father, single mother, and you're trying to, you know, relieve some stress, but that's the wrong way to do it.
Deontay Kyle
Yeah. Because at the end of the day, they're still a child. Right. Yeah, We. I think it's important for us to get back to that aspect of it, too. I think over with the point about making accountability. I think the part that's being lost is all of the episodes and things where we have talked about grace. And I have to also remember that too. Like, bro, we done covered this, we done said this, but at the same time, it's like it's new every time it go out.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Right.
Deontay Kyle
So they see the accountability and they don't see the grace that we've extended numerous of times. So it is good to reiterate that point because as a young man who was put out the house at 17 because I wasn't adhering like, I wasn't following the rules, but the rules are, like, extremely strict and restrict me from freedom, restrict me of autonomy. You want me to grow up and be a man, but you want me to stick to childish rules. I gotta be a man, but I can't get a key to the house because I'm not responsible. But I still need to be a man. I go get a job, you take my whole goddamn check. Why the fuck am I working then? I'm working for you now. That's free labor. I'm straight on that. That was the thing that made me quit my first job at Christmas. My mom used to take my whole fucking check. I'm like, man, fuck that. I'm not working for you. Damn. You sitting here telling me I'm saying, asking for shit for school, and you telling me, go get a job so I can get it myself. I go get the fucking job, and then you taking all my goddamn money. It puts young men in a hard position. I understand. I understand the pressures of being a young man. Right. I think more than anything, I've been talking to grown men. But I do take responsibility. If I haven't shown enough grace or constantly reiterating how much grace I do show and do have for young men, and I understand that it's hard to figure it out, especially like, to your point, you want the responsibility to be on his shoulders to learn how to pay bills. But that's not the way it's set up. There has to be a conversation with your child about, hey, you're 18 now. You're still a young man. You're not a grown man.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Right.
Deontay Kyle
You know what I'm saying? So if we're going to operate from a place of. It can't be black and white, you an adult and a child. You know what I'm saying? Like, they want you to be an adult and a child. Like, be an adult as far as being responsible and helping me, but be a child in the dynamic of power, where I'm still your mama or I'm still your daddy, and you got to do what I say. If you're gonna give somebody adult responsibilities, you have to give them adult autonomy. You have to allow them to go out and make mistakes. You can't, like, rule this shit with iron fist, because then what you talking about is a nigga saying, fuck that job. I'm finna go get this money in the street. Boom. Or you get a child that go off to college and never come back home. There's a lot of things. So the Parents need to be accountable too. I implore this with my own children. Once we have. I don't whoop. I'm a lecturer, you know what I'm saying? I get in my lecture bag. But post lecture and we let it breathe a little bit. I come in and make sure they know I love you. And I'm saying these things out of love. And I don't think you're a bad person, and I don't think you're a bad child. You just made a mistake. And we're here to help you learn from the mistakes. And I always implore grace where I say, you're just a kid, you know what I'm saying? And I know you're trying to figure it out. I'm trying to help you figure it out. And this is the method we gonna go. We're gonna go to the teachable method. A lot of times we're not talking to our kids no more. Also, too, the goal is to keep the things your parents did well, discard the rest, right? I would never put my kids out the house. But you also have to be extremely aware of who your kids are. And also, you can't take all of their actions personal. You know, you just can't. You don't take your boss's actions personal, you know what I'm saying? Until it start feeling personal. But you gonna take everything your child do personal because you feel a personal responsibility to that child, as you should. But you also can't be their first enemy. You can't be their first bully. You can't be their first landlord. You put niggas out the crib like you. The things that you're doing to that person's nervous system, you're spiking their nerve like you're discombobulating them. Because this is a person that is trying to showcase some autonomy in their friendships and how they maneuver outside. You know, they want to be social. All those things are great, but because it doesn't adhere to the same amount of responsibility you have as a parent, you want to put them out and say, since you know everything, you can get the fuck out of my house. That's fucked up. It's fucked up. And your issue is not really with them. Your issue is you see the potential that they have and you don't feel like they're taking full advantage. And your solution to that is to make their life harder. That's not a great solution at all. Because what happens to these young men when they go out house and what is waiting on them Outside when they don't have the safety and security of their own home. And it gives the ego to an excuse to take over. Oh, my own parents don't even give a fuck about me, so why should I give a fuck about me? Then we gonna cry and sing sad songs if he get killed in the street. And we gonna cry and go see him on the phone call down at the county jail. When you put a young man in a situation where he's helpless to the circumstances, then we want to implore empathy and grace. We got to implore empathy and grace before they even get to that moment of desperation. These young men aren't out here with a lot of role models. The media is giving them all of the poison that they can consume the world. Got all the degradation, all of the stereotypes ready and willing to apply them to them at any given time. This whole YN thing, you know what I'm saying? See, this is what I'm saying. It ain't like what we saying is nothing new. We've been speaking and advocating for these young men. But I understand how in this moment, the context of that can get lost too.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Right?
Deontay Kyle
Because this media shit is a. What have you done for me lately?
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yep.
Deontay Kyle
So the people that's been following, they understand our character and where we from. So I appreciate you for making it a point to that, to bring it back to the grace. Because these young men, they need avenues, and it starts at home. And he may not be acting away, but hey, the thing is too, the signs be there. You know, my son, 13, right now, I be saying he like. He trying to. He trying to figure out, like, lingo and, you know, how you want to talk, how you want to dress and all that good shit. And a phase is a phase, you know what I'm saying? And I always remind him, go outside, go look at that. How big that sky is. Don't nobody live on top of you. Don't nobody live beside you. You're in a nice house. You live in a cul de sac. That street shit don't exist here. He know that we reinforcing that. But at the same time, you gotta let them express themselves. Right. The same way we would let a white child express themselves when they go through their emo phase. Seems like our young black men go through their Y N phase. Right? But we gotta always remember to keep the main thing. The main thing. If we want our children to have better role models, we have to be better role models. Right? That starts at home, starts with keeping your word. It starts with not. Don't put your child out the house.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
And don't use the logic that it was done to me so they'll be okay. You're not okay.
Big Ice Cup Cat
You're not fine.
Deontay Kyle
You're not okay. You got anything else?
Big Ice Cup Cat
Because no. Peace Gods.
Deontay Kyle

Jen
We back and it's real positive. But I was looking for some advice. I'm a 39 year old female with three kids. Two of my kids, they about to go to high school and I'm just at a fork in the road in my life. I guess you will say I did a lot of different jobs in my past, you know, basically just to keep my house going, keep supporting, but nothing has ever really fulfilled me the past few years. I recently got into doing my own nails because I did discover that is a passion of mine. I don't know if I'm ready to step out there and, you know, start taking clients and whatnot, but I know I'm unfulfilled with the job or jobs that I have been doing. You know, I really just want to do something where I can take care of my family and put them in better situations than I grew up in. So that's most important. So I was actually just asking you guys of, did you have any advice or suggestions of things that I can do that kind of bring me to that point, kind of help figure it out for me. Just a middle aged woman lost at the moment. Appreciate y' all keep doing y' all thing.
Deontay Kyle
Thank you, Queen. Thank you Queen. Love from Chi Town.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah, man.
Deontay Kyle
Well, the thing is this, is that there I understand how fortunate I am in the situation that I'm in that this, this thing that we're experiencing that we're going through over here doesn't happen to everybody. Everybody doesn't find their niche or find an avenue out of the nine to five structure. Right. But the, the thing that I did always do is keep the main thing the main thing. I knew that the home came first. I knew it was my responsibility to take care of these kids and that's what comes first. You sound like a person that you have an understanding like I'm working these jobs, they're not fulfilling me, but I need to do what I got to do to keep the household going. But you found something that has piqued your interest. I would suggest continue building on it as a hobby. Yeah, but continue doing nails. Continue learning everything you can learn about doing nails. If it ends in the back of your mind that you're not ready to take customers, then you're not. But don't be in a rush. Cause you gotta keep the main thing. The main thing. But if it is your objective for that to be your job one day, for that to be your career one day, and for you to create your own path through your ability to do nails and nail art, then work on it whenever you have free time. Keep learning. Keep being a student. Keep practicing. You're going to be better at it in six months than you are at it right now. You're going to be way better at it a year from now. Facts. If you can get a testament about anything from me and Big Cat is that a year of consistent work can change your life.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Facts.
Deontay Kyle
So keep the main thing, the main thing. Take care of your health. Take care of your mental health. In the time being. Understand that you got to do what you got to do because your responsibility is to the kids first. You don't have to put yourself on the back burner, but you have to operate. And you gotta operate in the shadows for a little bit, so to speak. You know what I mean? Luckily, the thing that I did I could do at work, you know, the media thing, the TikTok thing, I could do that at work. That's not everybody's thing. You can't be at work working on nails, but you can be at work learning more about it. Learning more about the business of it, learning more about the history of it and really fall in love with the story of it and the craft of it. So that when you are ready to present it, you a full. You're a full fledged business. Can't nobody tell you shit. The thing is, before we had the studio, I was already collecting the art. I saw the studio in my mind first, you know what I'm saying? I knew that we was gonna have these eventually, have books and literature and things on the table. I was collecting this artwork and these vinyls and these CDs and these action figures and Funko Pops. I was collecting them in preparation to have the studio, you know what I'm saying? And, and, and once I was able to get the pieces that I saved up, more came, you know what I'm saying? But you had to. But I had to build it out first and don't be afraid to ask for help. Don't be afraid to ask your friends to let them let you do them nails. Do they nails. Do it for free. I understand that supplies cost and things like that. Hey, time is just as valuable. But do it for free. Fall in love with the craft because if you'll do it for free when the money come, your ethic is gonna be crazy. Crazy. Give people something to trust. You know what I'm saying? But you know, when you are ready to take on clients, don't start promoting the business from the position of I'm taking on clients. Start promoting the business position. Start promoting the business from your friend circle and do their nails for free and use them as promotion. Smart thing to do.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
And that way you can showcase your skills but you also now can reel in new clients and don't try to knock niggas head off with the price. Yeah, some of these people are doing like high, high, high nail art. I understand pricing that because that's very meticulous and artistic. Right. But if we just doing something basic off the rip, try to keep the cost affordable and then grow from there. And we wish you all the best. Shout out to Chicago Facts.
Tyla
Hi Deontay Kyle. My name is Tyla and I first want to start off giving you your praise. I really appreciate you. I really appreciate you using your platform to speak on these topics in our community that are so important and a lot of people don't have the courage to speak about or just are completely blindsided to the fact that some of the topics and issues are really important to us specifically. I personally am just a big fan and I just. You just really don't know. A lot of the topics that you speak on are a lot of topics I've been so passionate about that I spoke on before I went to school to study sociology. And one question I do have is how do you feel we should move forward into implementing these things to our children? I've left the classroom for various reasons, but I feel like these topics are topics that not only we should be talking about, but are topics that should be instilled in our children so they don't grow up and have to maneuver it.
Deontay Kyle
Move.
Tyla
Maneuver through the things that we have had to maneuver through because it wasn't no conversation. We wasn't guided through it. So. And then I appreciate you being a man, a black man speaking on these things because our children need that. We need more men in the community using their platforms the way you use it. And it's so beautifully. It's just beautifully done and I really appreciate it. So how do we get this message out to our children?
Deontay Kyle
Thank you. First of all, extremely humble and I'm extremely grateful. And the praise, like, that's what I pay attention to. The love, man. The love be real, bro.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Great love.
Deontay Kyle
It's a lot of love. The thing that I do and the thing that I'm gonna start doing more exclusively in my own home is holding a class with the kids. And we pick a topic and we teach on the topic, but we also allow them to be interactive and ask questions, start with things that are interesting to them. But we should implement. I want to implement things about black inventors, black historical figures, black movements, things like that. You know what I'm saying? But also we have to speak about things that will help them be well adjusted adults. Like we have to encourage our kids to be rebellious. We have to encourage our kids to question us and question all authority. We have to encourage our kids to be fully expressive. And we can't take their expressiveness as disrespect. Oftentimes in a black household, anything that doesn't completely align with conforming to your parents wishes is seen as disrespect. And it's not. You also make your children a lot more susceptible to violence and being victimized when you don't allow them to question your authority. So I would suggest that if you are in the household that you start small, 10 to 15 minute, little quick, get them used to the concept of being in class at home. Also understand they're going to be more comfortable at home. So they're not going to be as structured and sat down. But we'll work those kinks out. We'll work those kinks out. I would suggest implementing like a movie night or something where y' all watch a documentary together. It doesn't matter. Listen, I'm gonna tell you something. It does not matter if they're interested, put them phones up, put them iPads up and have them and just spend that time. But if you do it on a consistent basis, that it'll be something they look forward to and then they will get interested. But you can't expect them to go from like YouTube Roblox to learn about the Black Panther cubs and they're gonna be completely locked in. It just doesn't work like that.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Right.
Deontay Kyle
The, the. The same way that they've learned to become comfortable in the routine of being on YouTube, being on the iPad, being on the phone, being on a video game, that's A routine that came from repetition. And that's something we allow. You know, we want them to be entertained, want them to have free time and to be able to entertain themselves. If we're going to get into more of a structured situation at home, we have to allow them time to adjust to that. And I think implementing those things not only means teaching it to our children, but implementing ourselves first and leading by example. Thanks for calling into the Chris Next podcast. All right, we're going to take one more call.
Queen
Yo, my name is Queen from the west side of Chicago. I left a voicemail before, and it was too long, so I'm really sorry.
Deontay Kyle
Shout out to Chicago.
Queen
But just wanted to say I really appreciate Chicago.
Deontay Kyle
Hey, hey, man, we got to get to Chicago.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Got to get to the shot, baby.
Deontay Kyle
Best city on earth. Yeah, yeah.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Downtown Chicago is beautiful, too.
Deontay Kyle
That's what I. That's why I say it, because it's clean. Yeah, they're really taking care of that.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
Shout out to the shy man. All right, hold on. We back. We back in Chicago.
Queen
Yo, my name is Queen from the west side of Chicago. I left the voicemail before, and it was too long, so I'm really sorry that it was too long, but just wanted to say I really appreciate what you and Big Ice Club Cat are out here doing. Y' all doing the knowledge, y' all educating the other men out here. And I just wanted to say, me, as someone that's studying to be a therapist, specifically an art therapist and a sex therapist, I can really appreciate the point of view that you are providing for me, specifically because the population of folks I'm working with are sex workers and older black men. So really just wanted to say really quickly, there are two pieces of literature that I advise every black person to read, especially if you are trying to unlearn whiteness and learn about the psychological effect of white people removing pleasure from black people. I highly suggest reading the Delectable Negro by Scott Woodard. And I also highly suggest reading Black Skin, White Masks by Frantz Fanon. It's a lot of interesting stuff about Afro pessimism and the physical and psychological consumption of black people. I think you touched on a lot of these things in your podcast. And at some point in my career, I hope I can sit down with y' all to really get into it and get down to the nitty gritty of it. But anyway, love y' all. Love from Chicago.
Deontay Kyle
Love you too, sis. So the Delectable Negro. Yeah, and Black Skin White Mask. Tristan, do you think.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Tristan, do you Think my mother.
Deontay Kyle
All right, we got. We got some emails, then we going to get up out of here. Closing in on our 90 minute mark.
Big Ice Cup Cat
All right, relax, relax.
Deontay Kyle
Subject line. I done up.
Big Ice Cup Cat
God damn it.
Deontay Kyle
God damn it.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Up, up.
Deontay Kyle
Hey, I love y' all niggas so much, and I appreciate what you're doing for the community. You niggas are truly a gem. Well, a little bit by myself. I'm from Atlanta, born and raised. Currently, life has been okay, and I'm just getting on track after finishing college. Blah, blah, blah. Met this guy. We were having fun. I thought we were getting serious. But one day I was hanging out with my friends and went to this gay bar, and I seen him at the fucking bar. I stopped talking to him. Of course, I kept it cute because I'm queer. And I definitely wouldn't have judged if he was honest. I didn't make a scene in the club. A bitch found out I was pregnant two weeks later and contracted trick gamonis. Oof. Damn. Damn it. I definitely want to get an abortion, but I'm not ready because I'm not ready for a child. We definitely use protection, and I'm on birth control. Of course, the circumstances are unfortunate, but right now, I can't afford to get the abortion. The abortion. And pay for the flight to get one. I'd love some help, but I'm too shamed to make a gofundme. A girl can use some help. I'm 500 from my goal. Again, thank you so much for being a positive impact and a real nigga. You want me to pay for your abortion?
Big Ice Cup Cat
Hold on.
Deontay Kyle
Wait.
Big Ice Cup Cat
I'm confused.
Deontay Kyle
She was dating the guy, so, okay, it seemed like they were just fucking around. She thought it was gonna get serious, but she seen him at the gay bar.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Oh, she seen him at the gay bar.
Deontay Kyle
She seen him at the gay bar. She stopped talking. But she's queer, and she wouldn't have judged him if he was honest. But then she found out she was pregnant and had trichomonas. Okay. But then she said, we definitely used protection, and I'm on birth control.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah. I'm like, huh? I'm not. Cause the email started off confusing as hell anyway, so, yeah, this shit is.
Deontay Kyle
All over the place.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Yeah.
Deontay Kyle
Best of luck to you. For sure. Apprentice Masters. What's up, family? What up, D? What up, Big ice cup, Big ice, Big cat, Big. I don't give a damn.
Big Ice Cup Cat
God damn.
Deontay Kyle
Want to start off by saying grist and egg? Shit y' all got going on is truly a breath of Fresh Air Air. Y' all made a platform that is progressive, promotes emotional, intelligent, critical thinking skills for our community in a way that reaches niggas who really got it out the mud and niggas who had a head start and everyone in between, which is rare. Y' all doing it in a way that's authentic and non condescending to people who ain't did the knowledge yet. I'm writing this for anybody who has already who may already have their bachelor's and has lost his fuck and hitting a dead end in office settings or may not have a degree and want to do something constructive and provide for their families. Try to get into an apprenticeship program for a building trade. For the college folk, don't get more loans. For a masters there's longevity and money and trades. If you play your cards right and you won't be accruing any more debt. For non college folk, don't get any loans at all. Learn to trade and get ahead. Currently apprentice in a union program on the east coast for pumming. It's a five year program. I'm on the tail end of year three. I got a BS in international relations in 2018. I did a ton of office related jobs to my degree office jobs related to my degree and was miserable in office setting settings and real life. Thought some was wrong with my ass. Fast forward 2025. I couldn't be more clear that you don't need any construction experience at all to get in. I went from not knowing what basic tower tools were to be able not knowing what basic power tools were to be being called. Oh okay. That shit threw me off. I went from not knowing what basic power tools were called to being able to read blueprints, drive heavy machinery and I've only been doing this just shy of three years. Not a flex, just a perspective and motivation for people who are worried about that you can use the trade to give back to kids once you've established in a trade that is true, that's a transferable skill and you could definitely teach your kids that shit facts even when you're not at work. Also set them up to be a MA. You mother gotta be 18 and a master plumber because Pop's been a plumber this whole time. 18. Master welder because Pop's been a welder this whole time.
Big Ice Cup Cat
You've been his apprentice.
Deontay Kyle
You've been since she was 14. You've been an apprentice since you was 14 years old. Yeah. You know you got a real trade, right? Yeah. And it's a bonding really. Bond with your child over stuff like that.
Big Ice Cup Cat
Real manly.
Deontay Kyle
Yeah. I had the privilege to work at an inner city school right before. Before I joined the apprenticeship. I taught during the pandemic and the year after schools reopened. I was working with the ghetto them for sure. The piece of my story is really let y' all know that if you have a trade, a license or own a business, you can give back to these kids. They need it now more than ever because the pandemic has set a generational knowledge gap in place that many black families are scared to talk about in school districts and either don't give a fuck about or are so financially gutted that they can't do shit about it. And under this bitch ass president, these schools are really in trouble. As for their apprenticeship lifestyle, it is hard on your personal life. It can be hard on your body depending on what trade you choose. And you definitely need a reliable vehicle to get to work every day. If you and your kids, and if you have kids, you need a support system to watch them while you're working long hours. Most importantly, you're doing it just for the money. You won't last because you have to have a passion for it to incentivize you to go far and deal with the physical body labor side of it. Five years may seem like a lot of time, but I had to ask myself, would you rather spend more time being lost and trying something or trying something that can lead you down a path of community and building, literally, and great job security? With any job opportunity, there is toxic work environments to deal with. They for show exist in construction, but navigate them with the mindset that you'll have the skills no one can take away from you and be someone that your community can rely on to build the world around them. The whites are purposefully hiding trace from our kids for a reason. Once I get my business up and running in the next few years, would love to come forward with the grizzly next platform to get the kids doing the knowledge on plumbing. Peace. Hey. Well, there it is, ladies and gentlemen. I mean, he laid it out. The pros, the con, the good, the bad and the ugly.
