I travelled from Luarca to catch the ferry from Santander back to Portsmouth on Wednesday 12th getting back last night .The wiki bit..The Cantabrian Motorway (A-8) is a highway in Spain connecting the north of the country, stretching from the French border to Bilbao. This dual-carriageway runs along the Cantabrian coast, beginning at the Biriatu international bridge in Irún and ending in Baamonde, Galicia. Spanning approximately 486 km, it is a major traffic artery for the Bilbao metropolitan area, carrying heavy traffic along the 30 km stretch that passes through the city and its surroundings.BUT after you move away from the big towns - there is hardly any traffic on the road . It is one of the most scenic drives I ever been on ( I am NOT the most well travelled individual you have ever met) with the sea on one side and the craggy cliffs on the other. Support the show

Click on Support the Show for more details.This was put up not long ago - when I first saw this Alpaca it was standing in a field on its own near the railway line. It took me by surprise. Now there are 3 of them - it looks like a mum and 2 offspring. They stand absolutely still and just look at you as you walk by. All a bit strange with their permed hair do and camel like superiority complex - looking down across their oversized nostrils at you. Support the show

2d ago00:02:34Tap to summarizeThis began as "Hold up" as in delayed but is really about being "Holed up" - that is hiding from stuff..I've likened it to having car problems - only because at the time, in November 2023, the winter was just getting started and I was having the annual car issues.The car issues I have are usually associated with driving far too many miles with a car that is well past its best ( a bit like its owner) . I do this every year - try to avoid the obvious that if I need to drive this amount of miles I really need to buy a decent car. I'm sure I won't. Support the show
