let's go. Let's go ask a goddess a question. I did a Q A poll on my Instagram stories and you guys submitted some questions that you wanted to ask me. So I thought why not create like a little series On Ask a Goddess a question. Okay, so I'm gonna start with this question and if you like this series, I will definitely do more on here. So let me know, come over to @habitsofagoddess on Instagram and TikTok and let me know your your questions because I can create more series around your questions and make sure you guys are following Habits of a Goddess on the podcast. So let's get into it. So I'm gonna ask answer this question and then we can elaborate a little bit more. How do you focus on the good without getting distracted by negative feelings? This was submitted by one of the lovely goddesses that listen to the podcast. How do you focus on the good without getting distracted by negative feelings? So first of all, I'm gonna say do not suppress your feelings. Number one, it is okay to experience something that you may not find as pleasant, but do not make it a predominant thought in your mind or don't make it a home, if that makes sense. So there's times in my life where I have felt something like off. Like I felt like, oh, this is, this doesn't feel right. Or I feel negative towards this and I don't let that overtake, like who I am as a person. I just like process it in different ways and I alchemize it. So if you are looking to focus on the good without being distracted by the negative, make a list of the things that you find that you are being distracted by. And I want you to replace those distractions with help healthy habits. So for example, I'm just going to give you a generic example. I'm not saying this is what this person has experienced, but I'm just going to give you like in an example. So if you are scrolling doom scrolling on TikTok, I know I've been guilty of this, but if you're doom scrolling on TikTok, it is so addictive. It's like a dopamine, dopamine high, like just scrolling, scrolling, scrolling, watching funny videos and everything in between. But if you're scrolling and let's say you come across a video of someone living a lifestyle that you wish that you had and this individual or this couple, right? Let's say there's less. It's a couple, they're posting that they just bought a brand new home and it's beautiful and they are building amazing life together and they have the perfect relationship. What it appears to be, right? No one's perfect. But just follow me here. They have the perfect relationship, they have the perfect home and they're building a future together and it just looks beautiful, right? And you're thinking to yourself, I don't like what I see and I don't know why, like, this triggers me. I don't know why I feel triggered by seeing this on my social media. Like, this isn't real. Like, no one's, no one has that much money to buy a house like that. They must be doing something sketchy. Or no one's, no one's relationship is perfect. Like, he must be cheating on her or she must be cheating on him. Whatever it is, right? Whatever thoughts that just kind of pops up that's like, oh my God, why I'm having this thought, right? It's so easy to fall into that trap. It's so easy to fall into a negative trap when you are comparing yourself to the Internet. And that's what I feel like a lot of people do when you start to feel a negative emotion. I honestly believe that you're comparing your current reality to that person's reality. And you don't know. The blood, the sweat.

You don't really know the challenges they had in life to achieve what they have. And what they're showing or what they're portraying on, on social media. And yes, I understand sometimes people post stuff and it's not real, but that's not the picture here. The picture here is the case here, is that you felt a negative emotion towards it, right? And it's a distraction, like you feel distracted by your feelings that may be coming up negative for you. There is a reason why you feel negative towards it and I want you to dive into that feeling. I want you to release it. Like I actually want you to feel that emotion, that emotional scale point and I want you to release it. But you have to release it in a way that makes sense for you and only you are going to know that. Okay? So if I was that person and I came across that post and I felt like, oh, this is like a, this is negative. Like I feel negative towards it, I would sit with myself and I would journal that filling out and I would read it back to myself. Why I felt this way. Is it because I feel like it's not real? Is it because I feel like I can't achieve this for myself? Is that the reason why I feel negative? And why am I distracted by this? Watching someone live their life, watching someone manifest the life that they desire, why is that distracting me from what it is that I want out of life and how can I get to that point in my life? If you find yourself distracted by negative thoughts, negative belief systems, it's time for you to focus back onto you get a pencil and get a, get a paper. This is like the old fashioned way, okay? Don't put this notes in your phone. I want you to write down your feelings and I don't want you to judge yourself. Okay? If you're watching someone's life, whether it's in real life, real time or on social media, and you feel negative emotion, I want you to write down those negative emotions and I want you to look at it and read it to yourself. Read it out loud, okay? And then I want you to be honest. Why do you feel negative towards this individual or this, you know, thing, whatever it is. Like why do you feel negative? Be real with yourself. Is it because you feel like you can't have that, you can't accomplish that, you don't know how to get there. A lot of times that's what it is. You don't know how to achieve a certain thing in your life that someone else have achieved for them and they make it look so, so effortlessly, but you don't really know behind the scenes of what they have endured on their journey to get to where they're at in life. And it's time. It's really time to take a step back and maybe stop watching other people live their life and start creating the life that you desire for yourself. And that starts with being raw and honest and real with yourself. It starts with not comparing. It starts with, you know, taking a chapter out of your page, out of your book that you're creating right out of your life and saying, like, this is temporary. Like, I may not be where I want to be at in life, but it's a temporary season. And know that, like, it's okay to feel negative emotion, but it's not okay to make it your mission or your lifestyle or a home out of it. Replace it with habits that's going to help you transform, transmute that energy to something positive. Anytime I see someone have something that I so desperately want, I make it a challenge to go after my goals and dreams in life. For example, when I first started this podcast, Habits of a Goddess, six years ago, I wanted community. This was during the time, was during COVID I wanted community. I wanted to have support. I wanted to feel connected to something, you know, and I created that. I've created that. And now today I have women from all over the world that will send me DMS or make comments and. And they will tell me, like, how I've made a positive impact in their life through the podcast. And that is because I stop channeling that energy of feeling, like, not enough or I don't have what it takes to have a community. Or, you know, like, I stopped looking at the lack and I started working on my asset in life, which is, I know the more I invest in myself, the more I'm gonna have a better return on my growth in life. Like, I'm going to manifest. I'm going to achieve it. The more hours I pour into this podcast, they say, expert says if you spend 10,000 hours doing something, you become an expert at it. I have over 50,000 hours of habits of a Goddess content. Habits of Goddess podcast. That is nothing light. That is huge. A lot of people stop very early when they create a podcast or just anything. They stop early if they don't notice a change. But changes happen when you're consistent. Changes develop when there's habits into place. So think about what habits, what you can do to create something positive for yourself, and how you can transport that energy from feeling negative to feeling great. You know, I'm not going to tell you. Take this big leap in life. But I'm going to challenge you to make a slight change in your mindset and not look and think. Everything has to be like, you know, like at this baseline for you. Like you can grow and develop a positive shift over time by showing up for yourself and focusing more on yourself and you focus more on yourself.
