So I'm currently on vacation still celebrating my birthday. My birthday was June 1st so thank you, thank you, thank you to the lovely goddesses that have come over to social media, Instagram particular and wished me a happy birthday and who tuned into the previous episode. Thank you so much. I appreciate it. I just arrived in Phuket yesterday so by the time you hear this episode I'll be here for like a day or two. Settle in. But I'm in Thailand. I'm enjoying my birthday trip. It's been amazing and while I'm here I'm still creating beautiful episodes for you guys to tune in and listen to and I just thought wow, like to see and experience Thailand again. This is my second time visiting Thailand within six years. I came here in 2019 and now I'm here in 2025 and I just feel like wow, this place is so beautiful. It's magical and just everything. So if I have any lovely listeners from Thailand, hello. So as I'm sitting here and I'm recording This episode, I was just thinking to myself there was a time where I did not know how it worked with social media as far as like an influencer, a content creator and as a podcaster. So that's like what I do. I'm a influencer, content creator and a podcaster, entrepreneur. And I know a lot of my lovely listeners, you guys are into content creation. Influencer, or you may be an entrepreneur or you may have a career, right? So you have like different path of choice of providing for yourself and, or just creating a source of income, you know, for yourself. And there was a time where this wasn't as popular. It was still new and fresh. And I remember like the people who, you know, would kind of discover what I was doing. I, you know, as far as my blogging days and influencer, early on, and just even with my first business, just early on, like an online e commerce business, there was people who did not really truly understood like what it was and they had limited beliefs. And whenever they would ask me questions out of curiosity a lot of times, and then sometimes it was out of being nosy, they would ask me like, oh, well, how do you make money doing this? Or. Or how do you find, how do you do this? And a lot of times people really don't understand. They don't know, they don't understand. So they're trying to dissect and process what it is that you do, what is that brings you joy, what is it makes you happy because they see that you're enjoying whatever it is that you're doing. So I'm talking to my creatives. If you're a creative person, and a lot of times it may be unconventional of way of making a living, a lot of times people don't understand what you're doing. So what happens is they have these invisible boundaries placed on you. And this right here is something I feel like people are now seeing. It no longer works like the boundaries that they have placed on others on social media, in society. And it no longer works because the ceiling has been broken. The ceiling of success, of what people are used to seeing, what a success in the world has been change. And I'm one of those people who have broken that limited belief among my circle of peers and my family and just complete strangers too. Once they discover, like, oh, you have a podcast, you know, like, how does that work? And, and I want to share, like, if you are in this space right now where you are expressing yourself online or you have a business, whether it's online or storefront business or Maybe you are in a career path and you want to switch gears in life and you're really not sure like how to go about it because you are looking at what's been working or what people have told you growing up, the boundaries that people are placing. This is your sign to unfollow the rules. Unfollow the rules and live your life on your own terms. Live your life the way you want to live it. Because when you are creating something from within, that vision is given to you. And there's no secret sauce, there's no blueprint. I cannot copy paste what you're doing. Vice versa, you cannot copy and paste what I'm doing in life because it's working for me and it was given to me within. And the same with you, the same with whoever's listening to this episode. Like the vision, the dreams that you have that's been birthed inside of you was given to you and it's up to you to see forth that into fruit tuition in your life. So recognize when you're living by someone else's definition of realistic. Have you ever, have anyone ever said like, oh be realistic. Like if you say, oh, I want to be a singer or I want to be a tiktoker or I want to be a podcaster or I want to open my business and I want to make a million dollars this year and someone is placing their limit to place on you and saying be realistic, that's never been done before. Or be realistic, that only happens to certain people, well guess what, that is their limit to belief. And we are not adapting other people's goals of realistic. What's realistic for you may not be realistic for the next person. Vice versa. So you are redefining what you are living by in life. And here's the truth, right? Realistic is often just someone else's comfort zone projected onto you. Let me repeat that. Realistic is often just someone else's comfort zone projected onto you. And a lot of times, guys, when you are sharing your goals, I know, I know you want to share and open up to your best friend or to your family members or to your peers. I know you are even online. I see people online sharing their goals before you know they actually start the journey. And a lot of times you are sharing with the wrong people. You're sharing prematurely. So don't share everything with everyone. You are opening up yourself for people to project their limited beliefs onto you. So keep that to yourself. Keep your goals this summer to yourself. Keep your vision board to yourself. Like yes, you Want to like, you know, share a little bit of yourself, but like, don't share like the really deepest, deepest desire in your heart. Just pop out and let people see it, manifest it and let people see your manifestation. But early on I want you to hone in and, and I want that seed to be planted, what it is that you desire and let it grow within you first and you become so confident and what it is that you want out of life before you open up to the world. And when I first started this podcast, if you've been a long time listener, you know this to be true. When I first started this podcast, no one knew it was me because I didn't have my name or my face on the COVID art. Even on Instagram, I didn't really put like I was the podcaster host. Like none of that was visible. A lot of times my listeners, they were listen, they would tune in but they didn't know like the face behind the voice. There was a strategy behind that. I wanted to let this develop on its own and let my own voice become more confident and stronger over time. Because early on I was making changes in my life. I was letting go of people that no longer served a greater purpose in my life. I was really adapting to a different pace in my life. And sometimes people from your past, when they see you're working towards bigger version, a bigger goal in life, they will start to come out of the woodworks and try to bring you back to, to where they met you, bring you back to their comfort level of knowing who you used to be and you no longer live there, you no longer live in the past. So a lot of times when you're starting something new and you're, you're shifting gears in life and you know you're maybe you're getting into a new relationship, you're trying to get to know each other, right? Everyone doesn't need to know. Everyone doesn't need to know the ins and out, the details of your personal relationship. And that goes for anything that's not just romantic. That also goes for career, business, your personal healing journey. Everyone doesn't need to know your traumas. Everyone doesn't need to know every single aspect of your life. And today on social media, I know people are doing like story times and they're sharing like the private moments of their life. Sometimes you can share too much prematurely and you haven't fully healed. Whatever it is that you are opening your wounds up to, to the world. And a lot of people are not going to be able to see and understand from your point of view in life because they have their own mind and they're able to have informed their own opinion in life. So I say, and I express this with so much love and experience too just from like seeing how social media is today. Don't overshare every aspect of your life. Don't share things too prematurely, work on them, heal from it and then move, move with grace, move differently. You know, if you need to have a therapist that you can share and overshare in therapy session, do that. But like when you are working on yourself and you're leveling up, you're manifesting growth, good things are happening for you. People from your past are going to try to figure out, okay, what is going on with this person because I remember when they were abcde, okay, you're no longer there, you've navigated, you've worked through that or you're working through it like you've worked through whatever challenges you had in life and you've moved on. So don't create their version of realistic. You create your own version. You create what feels good to you. You create the standard in your life. You create the boundaries in your life. Don't listen to other people's fears, their projections, because it's not your reality. It's not your reality. So just take a moment and ask yourself, are the limits in my life based on actual reality or on what someone else told me reality should be? So take a minute. Are the limits in my life based on actual reality? Is there, is this an actual reality? Does this actually happen in my life or what someone else told me reality should be? About 10, 15 years ago, if you would have told me that, I would be sitting here and Phuket, Thailand, recording Habits of a Goddess podcast episode and traveling and enjoying South East Asia and experiencing bliss, experiencing, you know, abundance, experiencing love. If you would have told me that, I would have probably believed you because I am that delusional. I'm like, yes, live in Delul. Live in a little bit of delulu. But I also probably would have been a little doubtful because sometimes we put other people's belief system priority over our belief system. And I've worked through that over the years. I'm not limited by your belief system. I created a stronger belief system within myself. I believe in myself. I know that anything is possible for me. And I want you to adapt that mindset, the abundance mindset. The cost of staying small is a big cost. The emotional cost of staying small to keep other people comfortable. We are no longer doing that this summer. Think about this. If you are shrinking yourself to make other people digest you, you're taken away from your own abundance. You're taken away from yourself. So every time you shrink to fit into someone else's ideal version of you, you're shrinking yourself. Every time you second guess yourself because you're afraid of making others uncomfortable, you are paying a price. And peace and your progress and authenticity, you're paying that price. So we are not shrinking ourselves this summer. We are living in the abundance energy. We are living in our goddess energy. So show up in a, in the biggest, grandest way. Okay, no more playing small. Here's your permission slip to stop playing small to fit into someone else's box. Okay, stop playing small to fit into someone else's version of how you quote, unquote, should be in life. So whatever goals that you have set for yourself this summer, if Your goals is to have a European summer and you're like, I don't know how I'm going to afford this, or I don't know how I'm going to do this, how I'm going to travel. If that's your goal, write it down. Make the vision plain and clear, and then start looking for ways that you can do that. There's so many advice and tips on the Internet on how you can travel budget friendly. And let me give you guys an example, okay? This is my second time here in Thailand. I've been to Bangkok, and right now I'm currently in Phuket. The hotel I'm staying in is beautiful. It's beautiful. I've already shared the hotel I stayed in in Bangkok. That's on my personal Instagram page if you guys want to go check that out. And I'll share this one too later on the trip. But the cost of this hotel is literally a fraction of what it would cost if I was staying back in the States. The view is the ocean view, the rooms are grand, the, oh my God, the ambiance. Everything is so beautiful here, right? But six years ago, seven years ago, if I would have told someone, which I did, if I would have told people I was going to Thailand, they would have shared so many limited beliefs to me and say how it's expensive and how it's dangerous traveling and yada, yada, yada. And I'm here to tell you, this is my second time with a little bit experience. It's very affordable, it's very durable. So if you've ever wanted to travel to Thailand, you can do it, and you can do it within your budget. The only thing that would be probably the most expensive cost for you would be your flight. And that depends on where you're sitting and which airline that you take. But you can use points and you can, you know, break up your flights, travel like layovers and all that. All of that would depend and factor on. And the time of the season you travel will depend on the price.

But that's really like the most expensive thing that you would probably spend would be the transportation to get to Thailand, the flight. Other than that, the hotel, eating, getting around taxis. Ian, doing a little local shopping is so affordable. It's in with reason. And I share that because six, seven years ago, whenever I expressed I wanted to go to Thailand, a lot of people were really giving me, like, their limits of beliefs. They were telling me, like, oh, it's crazy over there and it's not safe for the women and it's just not this type of place for this kind of woman. And it's expensive and it's a long flight. Yes, it is a long flight, obviously, depending on where you're at in the world. But everything else was such a limit to beliefs. And a lot of times people are speaking from inexperience. The people that were giving me their two cents on traveling, they never been to Thailand. I would ask them after, I would, you know, express to them I want to go. I would ask them after, you know, they would tell me all the reasons not to go. I'm like, when was the last time you were there? Oh, I haven't been, but my friend went. Or, oh, I went. But I went in 1995 and it's like, okay, things have changed. A lot of things have progressed. And, you know, today I know the media push a lot of content on, like, traveling. And this happened to this Taurus and this happened here. Listen, things are happening all over the world and I say this with so much just, you know, love and just appreciation of, like, where I'm at on my journey. When it comes to traveling, I feel very confident. And if anyone's desire, because the summertime, we're doing a lot of traveling. So if your desire is to travel, book that trip, book the trip. Stop waiting for a group of your friends to come on the trip with you. Do a solo trip. Do a solo goddess trip and document it. Even if it's just for you. Even if you're not like a content creator or influencer or YouTuber, like, document the journey just for yourself. And like get to know yourself. Like, it's a great time. Solo traveling is a great time to really get to know yourself and to expose yourself to more than what's in your neighborhood, what's in your own environment back home. So exposure therapy is really great, too, because you're speaking to other people, you're learning other cultures, and you're becoming more confident in navigating the world that we live in. This world is so abundant. So put yourself out there more and just spread your wings and fly. So the cost of staying small, it is a price you're paying. You are stopping yourself from growing. You're asking other people for permission when you don't need to. So why are you asking other people for permission? They are not the creator of your life. You are the creator of your life and set goals that scare you in the best way. Like, what if your goals didn't feel safe? What if your goals felt thrilling? What if your goals scared you? Okay, flip the script. If your goals don't make your stomach flip a little bit. Like, you don't get the, you know, the butterflies, they're probably not being stretched enough. That feeling of fear is not always danger. Sometimes it's expansion. That feeling of simply booking that trip, getting on a flight, and traveling to a place in the world that you've never visited before. Yes, you're going to feel a little bit of discomfort. That's because it's new. So you go back to exposure therapy. Expose yourself to new people. Expose yourself to new places, to new food, to new activities. Exposure, Exposure. Exposure. Exposure therapy is like the best way to grow and get out of your comfort zone and unfollow the rules and break the limitations that others put on you. Get out, expose yourself, and start small. Like, choose one goal that makes you feel a little bit uncomfortable in the best way. One that makes you say, can I really do? Summer's here, and Nordstrom has everything you need for your best dressed season ever. From beach days and weddings to weekend getaways in your everyday wardrobe. It's easy, too, with free shipping and free returns in store order pickup and more. Shop today in store online@nordstrom.com or download the Nordstrom app. Then say, let's find out. So start small. It doesn't have to be where you book a flight and you're on the flight, you know, to Thailand, but it can be where you are just traveling to a new City that's a few hours away, and you are trying a new restaurant, something simple, or you can dial it back and you could do something more local within your means. And I'm just using this as a example, but I just feel like a lot of times we are playing so safe and small in our environment. We're not growing. So expose yourself to new environments. Expose yourself to new people. When the last time you started a conversation with someone completely, completely new to you, someone who you probably normally wouldn't talk to, like, get out of your loop of comfort zone and expose yourself to new environments. New people get new, fresh ideals. Like, as I'm here traveling, the bathrooms, the bathrooms in the mall, the bathrooms in the hotel, the bathrooms in the restaurant, it's next level. Like. Like, the bathrooms here are so clean and just so luxurious. Marble on the wall, everything gold. Like, so beautiful. I'm getting ideals from, like, back home. Like, oh, my God, like, I want to do this to my house. I want to do that. Like, it's beautiful how they plate the food and they put flowers on that. I'm like, oh, my God, that is so feminine. That is so goddess energy. I have, like, a big bowl of fruit in my hotel, and they give you fresh fruit every single day. I have dragon fruit, papaya, lime, another fruit. I really don't know the name of it, but it looks interesting anyway. And then they have, like, this beautiful orchid flower on top. And I'm thinking to myself, ooh, this is for. This is fresh ideals for me for when I go back home. Instead of just having fruit just, like, on the counter for us to eat, like, oh, put like, a little flower. Like, it's such a feminine touch. Like, an extra little feminine touch. I love that I'm getting new ideals and setting new goals for myself. Something so simple and just a small shift in my home, but it just makes the home feel even more extra feminine. I love that you need the masculine. You need the feminine energy throughout your whole home. And for me, I just know, like, oh, I love the culture. I love how they add flowers throughout the whole room in this hotel. And I'm like, oh, this is an ideal for me. So that's what happens when you step out and you try different places, you travel. You get visions of what to do in your own life, right? So exposure is really great. And then boundaries that expand you and not restrict you. That's so important. So we often think of them as walls to keep things out. Like, when you set a boundary, it's like, oh, you're keeping this person away. Or you're saying no to this because you're setting a boundary, right? But what if boundaries could be doors, intentional structures that help you move in one direction that actually works. Like, exposure therapy comes in not the clinical way, but the everyday kind. Like what I shared about exposing yourself to new people, new places, new things. Like tiny acts of bravery. Saying no when you usually say yes, speaking up when you normally stay quiet. Like exposing, using your voice, your throat chakra, taking up space when you've been trained to shrink yourself. Exposure therapy, like, start expressing yourself. And expressing yourself is not just vocal, not just verbally, but how you carry yourself in the room, how you dress, how you do your makeup. Like you're expressing yourself. Like how you want to be approached, right? Like how you want to be perceived and treated. So start speaking through your everyday, like how you carry yourself. The more you expose yourself to the edge of discomfort, the more your boundaries begin to stretch. And then suddenly you're living wider, louder, freer. Like, suddenly you're unstoppable. Suddenly you have the voice of confidence. You have the voice of courage. You have the voice of goddess. Like, you have this voice that people will respect. People will actually, like, take a double look, because you are more confident with your boundaries within yourself, and your boundaries are opening up for you. Your boundaries are opening doors. Your boundaries will open up opportunities for yourself as you are working on yourself. So think about this. Anytime someone sets a realistic boundary on you. So if you're feeling the weight of the invisible boundaries, remember this. You don't need permission to dream bigger. You don't need permission to book that flight. You don't need permission to go on that date. You don't need permission to buy that new car. You don't need permission to buy that new dress. You don't need permission to start a social media channel. You don't need permission to start a podcast. You don't need permission to start a business. You don't need permission to be you. Be being you is the greatest thing that you can ever do because you are honoring your authentic self. So whatever that looks like you, you don't need permission. You just need the courage to question the limits and the consistency to keep going. That's all you need. Refuse to stay small and start setting goals that scares you, because those are usually the ones that's worth chasing. So start setting those goals and challenge the boundaries and choose you. Remember to be kind and gentle with yourself. And remember to unfollow the rules your life you don't need permission. You don't need permission to shine. You don't need permission to grow. You don't need permission to step away from that relationship. You don't need permission to step away from that friend. You definitely don't need permission to start honoring yourself. So remember. Remember who you are, Goddess. Remember your own identity before you met that person. Remember what you liked. Remember the places you like enjoying going to. Remember how you like to dress up. Remember the new version of yourself. Like you don't need permission to do those things in life. You don't need permission to start prioritizing your mental health, your physical and spiritual. You don't need permission. You don't owe anyone an explanation of how you're moving and shifting through the world. So remember to be kind and gentle with yourself. I want to leave you with an affirmation that you can repeat throughout the day. Place your hand over your heart and just take a deep breath and breathe and repeat this affirmation after me. June is my month of elevation and growth. June is my month of elevation and growth. June is my month of elevation and growth.

It's your month to shine. It's your month to break loose those invisible boundaries that others place on you. It's your month to grow. It's your month. So stop following the rules that other people set for you. Learn to live your life on your own terms and learn to not explain your your why. You don't have to explain or re frame others their way of thinking. Your job is to stay consistent, consistent with your goals, your desires and to honor them and what that looks like. Every single day you take a note, a mental note on what it is that you set for yourself for the day, for the week, for the month. And then you act on it. You act on it with courage. You act on it. You follow through whatever goals that you're making for yourself. It could be Your fitness goals, your relationship goals, your business goals, your planning of traveling for the summer goals. Taking care of your skin, taking care of your hair, taking care of your self esteem, taking care of your confidence, taking care of your heart, taking care of your mind, body and soul. Whatever goals that you place on yourself, you don't have to explain to anyone and stop over sharing anything that you are working on in the baby stages of your life. Podcast Summary: Habits of A Goddess – Unfollow the Rules: Why Your Life Doesn’t Need Permission
Episode Information:
In this empowering episode of Habits of A Goddess, host Jasmine Rascoe delves into the theme of breaking free from societal and self-imposed limitations. Titled "Unfollow the Rules: Why Your Life Doesn’t Need Permission," the episode serves as a motivational guide for women to embrace their authentic selves and pursue their dreams without seeking validation or permission from others.
Jasmine begins by reflecting on her journey as an influencer, content creator, and entrepreneur. She highlights the skepticism and limited beliefs she encountered from peers and family when she ventured into unconventional career paths.
“There was a time where this wasn't as popular. People didn’t understand what I was doing and had limited beliefs.” [04:30]
She emphasizes the importance of recognizing and overcoming these external limitations to achieve personal growth and success.
A core message of the episode is the necessity of living life on one’s own terms. Jasmine encourages listeners to cultivate their unique vision and trust their inner guidance rather than conforming to societal expectations.
“When you are creating something from within, that vision is given to you. There’s no blueprint to copy what I’m doing because it was given to me within.” [09:15]
This authenticity allows individuals to manifest their dreams authentically and sustainably.
Jasmine addresses the concept of "realistic" goals, explaining how they are often influenced by others' comfort zones rather than one's true potential.
“Realistic is often just someone else's comfort zone projected onto you.” [12:45]
She urges listeners to redefine what is realistic for themselves, understanding that personal aspirations may differ vastly from conventional standards.
Setting and maintaining personal boundaries is another significant topic discussed. Jasmine explains how boundaries should serve as doors to new opportunities rather than walls that restrict growth.
“Your boundaries will open doors as you work on yourself.” [18:30]
By expanding their boundaries, individuals can embrace new experiences and opportunities that align with their personal growth.
Fear of the unknown often holds people back from pursuing their dreams. Jasmine uses the metaphor of exposure therapy to illustrate how stepping out of one’s comfort zone leads to personal expansion and confidence.
“Exposure therapy is like the best way to grow and get out of your comfort zone.” [22:10]
She encourages small acts of bravery, such as traveling solo or trying new activities, to build resilience and self-assurance.
Drawing from her personal experiences traveling to Thailand, Jasmine illustrates how exploring new environments fosters creativity and personal development.
“Solo traveling is a great time to really get to know yourself and expose yourself to more than what's in your neighborhood.” [25:50]
She shares how immersing herself in different cultures has provided her with fresh ideas and inspired her personal and professional life.
To conclude the episode, Jasmine offers a powerful affirmation aimed at fostering elevation and growth.
“June is my month of elevation and growth. June is my month of elevation and growth. June is my month of elevation and growth.” [37:46]
She reinforces the message that listeners possess the power to shape their destinies without seeking external permission or approval.
In "Unfollow the Rules: Why Your Life Doesn’t Need Permission," Jasmine Rascoe delivers a compelling narrative encouraging women to break free from societal constraints and self-doubt. By sharing her personal experiences and providing actionable insights, she empowers listeners to honor their authentic selves and pursue their dreams with confidence and determination.
